Acts 16:25-26 [TPT] “Paul and Silas, undaunted, prayed in the middle of the night and sang songs of praise to God, while all the other prisoners listened to their worship. Suddenly, a great earthquake shook the foundations of the prison. All at once every prison door flung open and the chains of all the prisoners came loose.”

In 1972, relations between Uganda and Israel deteriorated. Although Israel had once supplied Uganda with arms, it refused to provide jets for a war against Tanzania. Infuriated, Ugandan president Idi Amin expelled all Israeli military advisers and turned aggressively against Israel. He openly threatened war, boasting about launching paratroopers, bombers, and suicide squads. His hatred escalated further when he banned Judaism in Uganda. The small Jewish community, the Abayudaya, became a direct target of his persecution. Their synagogues were desecrated and turned into goat pens, their sacred prayer books were burned, and their Sabbath—Saturday—was declared a regular workday. Despite these harsh trials, the Abayudaya clung to their faith, praying for divine intervention. Their prayers were answered in 1979. On the eve of Passover, the Tanzanian army invaded Uganda and overthrew Amin’s brutal regime. For the Abayudaya, it was a moment of triumph and deep spiritual joy—a modern-day Exodus from tyranny. Just as God delivered Israel from Pharaoh in ancient Egypt, so He delivered this faithful remnant from a modern oppressor. Their deliverance was a testament to the power of prayer and unwavering trust in God during persecution.
The Israelites were held in bondage by Pharaoh for 430 years. But on the night of the Passover, through God’s mighty outstretched arm, the siege of captivity was finally broken and Israel was set free.
Today, the spirit of Pharaoh still operates in the world through forces of wickedness in high places that try to oppress God’s people and make life difficult and unbearable for them.
In Acts 16:25-26, Paul and Silas were held in captivity by these forces of oppression. But through the power of praise, they experienced God’s amazing miraculous deliverance.
Today, as we come into the first day of the sixth month of June, it is our season to engage the power of praise for our deliverance from every oppression.
Despite the worsening climate in the world, let us always remember that we are exempted by the Blood of Jesus. Our covenant with Christ is stronger than the climate in the world. As we keep our focus on God’s Word and continually praise Him, certainly He will cause the earth to yield its increase to us.
While others may complain that there is a casting down, we will keep declaring that there is a lifting up.
Surely God is the glory and lifter up of our heads. Despite the increasing gross darkness in the world, by the power in the Blood of Jesus, our paths will keep shining brighter and brighter.
Certainly, in this new month of June, it our season to arise and shine for our light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon us.
PRAYER: Father I thank You for this brand new month. Please enable me not to fret over any situation, but rather to praise You always because surely You are fighting my battles and giving me the victory in Jesus Name.
