JUNE 12; MAINTAIN YOUR JOY.

Nehemiah 8:10:
Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Clay Dyer was born without arms and legs, yet he has become one of the top professional sport bass fishermen in the world. Born without fingers or thumbs, Clay never let these challenges stop him. Competing on the national pro fishing circuit, he has won around 20 state and regional tournaments. Through it all, he gives all the glory to God.
Clay only recalls one moment of questioning his condition. At nearly five years old, he asked his father, “Daddy, why did God make me like this?” His father replied, “Son, I don’t know, but I know God doesn’t make mistakes.” As the years passed, Clay discovered just how true that statement was. He came to understand that he was created with a purpose—to be a witness for Christ and encourage others through his life.
Clay is an inspiration to everyone he meets. Despite his physical limitations, he maintains a joyful and determined attitude, even learning to text with his lips and teeth. He is now happily married and serves as an evangelist, boldly proclaiming the Gospel. His motto is, “If I can, you can!” based on Philippians 4:13.
His story, is told in the book ‘The View From Down Here is Just Fine’.

Joy is not necessarily the absence of difficulties, rather it is the assurance of God’s Presence even in the midst of adversity.
His presence fills us with inexplicable joy even in the most adverse circumstances.
Life is not always a bed of roses and sometimes, tough situations may arise, but in everything we keep giving God thanks because this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning us.
As believers, Joy is the spiritual and emotional fuel we run on. As long as we can maintain our joy, we will certainly have the victory in every situation..
Our living is determined not so much by what life brings to us as by the attitude we bring to life; not so much by what happens to us as by the way our mind looks at what happens.
It is true we may sometimes pass through trials and temptations, but in everything we must be deliberate to exalt God above the circumstances.
The truth is that God is always faithful. If we look back at our lives, at past trials, we will see that despite all we passed through, God’s grace has always brought us through.
Therefore no matter what you pass through today, the same God is available to again give you the victory. This is why we praise Him in all things. Because His grace and mercy never runs out, they are always new every morning.

PRAYER: Father, today I choose to give You thanks in all things! And no matter how difficult things may sometimes seem, I thank You because I know You are at work in my life and Your Glory is being revealed through me in Jesus Name.

The book Thirty Years Among South Sea Cannibals tells the gripping story of Scottish missionary John Gibson Paton, who served among the hostile tribes of the South Sea islands. Many native chiefs viewed him as a threat to their ancestral customs and resisted his message fiercely. Paton often faced life-threatening dangers in his quest to bring the gospel to the islands.
One day, while working on the mission station grounds, Paton was suddenly surrounded by a war chief and a group of armed men. Each man raised a musket and aimed it directly at his head. Death seemed certain. But Paton, instead of panicking, looked to Jesus in prayer. As he prayed, the words of Jesus in John 14:13 rose strongly in his spirit: “Whatsoever ye shall ask in My Name, I will do it.” Strengthened by this divine assurance, he returned to his task calmly, as though no danger surrounded him.
The armed men, though fully prepared to kill, were mysteriously restrained. None could fire. After moments of hesitation and confusion, they all quietly walked away. Paton praised God, who again proved Himself faithful. Throughout his many years among the tribes, God continually and miraculously preserved his life.

There are fiery Heavenly security and divine forces surrounding children of God upon the earth.
God is our ever present help in times of trouble. He has warrior angels on standby to protect us and ensure that we never even dash our foot against a stone.

The question then is; if we have such formidable security and protection why does it seem believers sometimes still fall victims?
The answer is that, what motivates God to act on our behalf is our depth of faith and relationship with Him.
God’s response to us is determined by our knowledge of who He is. Indeed it is those who know their God that will be strong and do exploits.
When we know God for ourselves and diligently obey His Word, whenever we call He hears us and whatever we ask He does for us.

Intimate relationship with God is what Christ died at the Cross to purchase for us. Through His Blood we have been reconciled and restored to live as sons of God with access to Heaven’s best resources.

Revelation 5:12 says Jesus was slain to receive for us power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

Jesus paid the full redemptive price to purchase for us all we need to live in victory and dominion on the earth. God’s people only sometimes perish for lack of knowledge.

By covenant every child of God is born for signs and wonders. We are ordained to reign over the enemies of our destiny and triumph over trials and tribulations.
But it is only through the knowledge of God that we can walk in the fullness of our redemptive inheritance.

2 Peter 1:3 says ‘According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him.’

The level of our knowledge of God determines the level of inheritance we can enjoy. Let us therefore seek to know God more and more through quality time spent with Him in worship, prayers and in-depth study of The Word. Through such intimate fellowship, we will always be conscious of God’s surrounding Presence. As we praise Him at all times, His presence will keep increasing around us. And whatever we ask He will do for us and wherever we go He shall be with us to deliver us from all life’s trial, troubles and turbulence.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for the price You paid at the Cross for my salvation. Please grant me fresh appetite for Your Word and Your Presence, so that I can be empowered through faith to always live in victory and dominion over life’s challenges in Jesus Name. .

Charles Darwin is widely known as the father of the theory of evolution by natural selection—a theory that directly challenges the Biblical account of creation. Yet, in his early years, Darwin was a professing Christian. He attended an Anglican school and earned a degree in divinity, initially intending to become a church pastor or vicar.
However, his worldview shifted dramatically in 1831 when he accepted a role as a naturalist aboard a British Royal Navy ship. During the voyage, he gathered data from nature that would eventually shape his controversial theory of evolution. Over time, Darwin grew increasingly critical of the Bible, especially the Genesis account.
In 1839, Darwin married his first cousin. This marriage to his close relative resulted in medical complications in the lives of their ten children. Three died young, and several others battled chronic health issues. Darwin chose to blame God for his problems, and his faith continued to fade until he finally stopped attending church altogether. The death of his beloved 10-year-old daughter in 1851 shattered him emotionally and marked his final break from belief in God.
After turning from faith, Darwin continued to criticize the Scriptures. But it seemed the more he railed against God, the more his life was laden with troubles. He lived in constant worry, battling anxiety, fear, and numerous physical ailments—including heart problems, stomachaches, and debilitating headaches.
His long list of afflictions continued to increase until he died in 1882, a man burdened and joyless.

Certainly, a person cannot go against God and have peace. Darwin’s life clearly shows this. Those who become offended toward God and complain only complicate their matter.
Numbers 11:1 says the Israelites “complained about their hardships and when God heard it His anger was aroused.” As a result, He destroyed some of the people.
Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 10:9–10, “Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.”

Seeing that murmuring or complaining can be destructive, let us therefore make the conscious choice to avoid it and rather always judge God faithful in every situation. The eternal truth is that God is always good.
Whatever we may have lost at any point, God is the reason why we did not lose everything. And as long as we remain grateful and thankful, it is only a matter of time before God gives us total recovery and complete victory.
Gratitude—not grumbling—is what motivates God to work on our behalf.
Praise is what triggers the intervention of the Omnipotent God in our affairs.
It is not the greatness of a challenge that defeats a man but his attitude towards it.
No matter what happens, we trust in God and refuse to lose hope or give up our faith.
Therefore today, no matter what challenges you may face, always resist the temptation to complain, and in everything keep giving thanks to God.
Maintain your joy, because the joy of the Lord is the source of your strength to overcome every trial and have the victory at last.

PRAYER:
Lord, I thank You, for I know my life and my times are firmly in Your hands, and You are in perfect control of my destiny. Thank You for always working everything together for my good in Jesus’ Name.

Bill and Gloria Gaither, two of the world’s most beloved Gospel music writers, were deeply affected by the turbulent atmosphere of the 1960s—a decade marked by war, civil unrest, political assassinations, and racial tension. It was a time of great fear and uncertainty across America, and for the Gaithers, 1969 brought its own personal darkness. Bill was battling a severe case of mononucleosis, and both he and Gloria felt the weight of the world pressing in.
One day, while Gloria sat quietly in their living room, overwhelmed by anxiety, something remarkable happened. The fear that had gripped her heart began to melt away as she sensed the powerful and peaceful presence of God surround her. In that moment, a divine calm replaced her panic, and she was filled with the deep assurance that the future was secure—because God was still in control.
Out of that encounter came one of the most cherished hymns of all time: Because He Lives. The lyrics, inspired by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, proclaim a message of enduring hope: “Because He lives, I can face tomorrow… all fear is gone… life is worth the living just because He lives.” It became an anthem of faith in uncertain times.

To have the victory over challenges, we must stop looking at the problems and start looking at God’s promises. Today, many people are worried about their tomorrow, their finances, medical reports and many other issues. But rather than despair, we must maintain our praise because it is what engages God’s Presence and guarantees our victory..

Nehemiah 8:10 says ” ‘Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength’ “.

We must understand that joy produces strength, which explains why our joy is the devil’s primary target. If you lose your joy, you will lose your strength, and lose your battles. But if you refuse to be depressed, then the enemy cannot oppress you.
So be joyful!
In Philippians 4:4 apostle Paul writes, “Rejoice in the Lord always”.
Paul wrote those words when he was in prison with no chance of getting out. For him joy was a decision, not a reaction to circumstances.
Even in the midst of chaos and bleakness in the world, God still reigns supreme and is in perfect control. He is able to handle whatever comes our way and holds our lives and our future in His hands. This is why in all things we give thanks and praise Him regardless of the happenings.
Therefore today let us make the definite decision to always remain joyful and keep praising God. Certainly, our lives and times are in His Hands. And because He lives, we shall indeed live also!

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the grace to keep praising You in every situation. I know that because You live, I can always face tomorrow and triumph in every circumstance in Jesus Name.

On Sunday, April 15, 2018, six tornadoes tore through the town of Elon in Central Virginia, destroying buildings and leaving devastation in their wake. Sharon Childress and her eldest son, Bryson, were at home when one of the twisters struck. Sharon was knocked unconscious after being hit on the back of the head. As the winds ripped through their house, Bryson felt as though every inch of his body had been struck at once. He suffered severe injuries, nearly lost an eye, and required multiple surgeries to recover.

By the time Sharon regained consciousness, their entire home had been reduced to rubble. Yet, in the midst of the destruction, both mother and son were deeply thankful to be alive. They joined other residents—many of them believers—in lifting their voices in praise. Though 26 homes were destroyed, not a single life was lost. The entire community chose gratitude over grief.
In the aftermath, help poured in from individuals and organizations determined to restore the town. As the people continued to thank God despite their losses, they witnessed restoration beyond expectation. New homes were built—stronger and better than before—proving once again that gratitude opens the door for miracles.

Trials turn to triumph when we offer unto God a sweet sacrifice of praise. Often our sweetest incenses of praise are those offered from the fire.
In the Old Testament, when the priest made offerings on hot coals, accompanied with incense, the Bible says that these offerings made by fire were a pleasing aroma and a sweet savor unto the Lord. [Leviticus 2:16]

Therefore, anytime you face a trial, understand that the fire is not there to burn you, but rather it is there to reveal the glory of God in your life.
An attitude of gratitude will always guarantee you the victory in every battle .
Though you may walk through the fire and the water, as you praise Him, God will preserve you from trouble. He will cover your head in battle and give you the victory over your adversaries.
Through in-depth study of the Word, you will connect to the faith that will cause you to emerge victorious.
As you keep praising God, your season will start changing.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says ‘Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.’

Rejoicing and being thankful in everything is God’s will for us. When you continue to offer the sacrifice of praise, in the midst of difficulties, somehow, in ways you cannot fathom, things will begin to turn around. You will see that negative medical verdict overturned, the financial problems will be resolved, the family crisis, marital troubles etc will all be overcome.
As we hold on to God’s Word and keep praising Him at all times, certainly our story will keep changing from glory to glory.

PRAYER: Lord, Please help me to maintain my praise in every circumstance. No matter what comes my way I know You are working it all for my good and causing me to emerge victorious from every challenge in Jesus Name.

Peter Gladwin was only a year old when a house fire left him with 70% burns and severe injuries, including the loss of several fingers and toes. The trauma drove a wedge between his parents, ending in divorce. As a child, Peter bounced between care homes, burdened by feelings of rejection and inadequacy. As a teenager, he turned to street gangs, alcohol, drugs, and crime. By 13, he was already in youth custody. After being stabbed, he lost the use of his right arm. By the age of 30, Peter’s life had spiraled into utter despair—mentally, physically, and emotionally broken, with every relationship in ruins.

One day, overwhelmed by pain and hopelessness, he climbed onto a bridge, ready to end it all. But in a moment of divine interruption, he spotted the block of flats where his mother lived. He ran there, broke down in tears, and she called his sister, a born-again Christian who prayed with Peter over the phone. Right there, he gave his life to Christ. That night, Peter slept sober for the first time in years. This began his healing journey. Today, Peter runs the ministry Out of the Ashes and travels the world as an evangelist, declaring God’s power to deliver and restore.

In the face of life’s disadvantages, disabilities, discouragement, and adversities, a divine turnaround is possible.
If a situation appears more than you can handle, don’t give up hope. Refuse the temptation to accept defeat or think things will never change.
There’s nothing impossible with God. There’s no condition He cannot change.
If you are wondering how help will arise for you, keep your eyes on God’s Word.
No matter how insurmountable the mountains and hills, we need to lift our eyes above to the One who controls them.
We serve the majestic Creator, to whom nothing is impossible. And He has assured us that He will never leave us nor forsake us under any circumstance. (Hebrews 13:5)

This is why we praise Him. Though we may sometimes pass through hurts, disappointments, and overwhelming hardships, we should react to negative circumstances with the understanding that God is with us. And when God is for us, nothing and no one can be against us.
This is why James 1:2 tells us to count it all joy when we pass through diverse trials.
As we praise God in trials, pressures will be turned to pleasures. Out of ashes will come forth glory, beauty, and color in our lives.
Joy is the mystery behind rising above obstacles because the joy of the Lord is our strength.
Today, as thanksgiving and praise continually proceed from our lips, surely God will turn around every negative condition and keep lifting us from glory to glory.

PRAYER:
Lord, please help me to continue to press forward, no matter how hard the journey may seem. I thank You for strengthening my faith and enabling me to praise You always for the great and mighty things You are set to do in my life in Jesus’ Name.

On April 11, 2005, Captain Frank Diorio’s military base in Husaybah, Iraq, came under the most intense attack faced by any coalition unit during the Iraq war. For three relentless days, insurgents bombarded the base with gunfire, grenades, and suicide bombers. Three vehicles packed with 2,000 pounds of explosives struck the compound, and two more breached the perimeter, triggering a fierce ground assault.
Rather than collapse under the pressure, Frank turned to God in desperate, continuous prayer. The overwhelming danger didn’t drive him into fear—it drew him deeper into faith. He leaned on God for wisdom, protection, and courage. Amid the chaos, he felt surrounded by God’s divine presence.

Through his leadership, quick decisions, and spiritual conviction, Frank’s unit fought back with strength and precision, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy. Amazingly, not a single soldier under his command was lost during this massive assault—or throughout his entire deployment, despite over 300 attacks.

After returning home, Frank was awarded the Bronze Star Medal on March 13, 2006. In every media interview, he consistently gave glory to God, attributing his survival, protection, and victories in Iraq to the unmistakable presence and power of God.

As believers, we may sometimes pass through fiery attacks of the enemy.
But one thing we can be assured of is that God never leaves us alone in the fire. He always comes as the fourth man to organize our rescue.
When Christ is your anchor, the storms that come to blow you backwards will only end up blowing you forward. The winds may sway you, even bend you, but you will never break because you are being upheld by God’s Word.
Though you may walk through the fire and the water, God will preserve you from trouble. He will cover your head in battle and give you the victory over your adversaries.
Therefore, when you face tough battles, rather than being afraid or dismayed, trust that God is turning the adversity to your advantage.
If today you are facing a medical diagnosis or financial report that seems overwhelming, rather than fear, let God’s Word dominate your heart. Through in-depth study of the Word, you will connect to the faith that will cause you to emerge victorious. The trial that came to break you down will only cause you to break through and break forth to glorious realms.
Therefore, in every situation, keep praising and keep blessing God for His faithfulness, because as you have put your trust in Him, surely, you shall never be ashamed.

PRAYER:
Lord, please help me to maintain my praise in every circumstance. No matter what comes my way, I know You are working it all for my good and causing me to emerge better and stronger in Jesus’ Name.

Dr. Lilian B. Yeomans was a renowned Christian physician in the late 19th century who turned from medicine to faith healing after a powerful spiritual transformation. She established a “faith home” for people deemed incurable by medical science, teaching them to receive healing through the Word of God. Many were miraculously restored as their faith was built on the promises of Scripture.
In one of her books, Dr. Yeomans shared the story of a woman in the final stages of tuberculosis. Doctors had given up hope, but Dr. Yeomans welcomed her into the faith home. The woman was carried to an upstairs room, barely alive. For two hours, Dr. Yeomans read healing Scriptures to her, focusing on Deuteronomy 28 and Galatians 3:13. She instructed the woman to continually declare, “Tuberculosis is a curse of the law, but Christ has redeemed me from the curse. Therefore, I no longer have tuberculosis.”
For three days, the woman repeated this, though she admitted she didn’t understand it. But on the third afternoon, the truth clicked. She came running down the stairs shouting, “Sister Yeomans, it’s gone! Christ has redeemed me!” The power of God’s Word had come alive in her heart—faith rose, and healing followed.

Miracles are not what we wait for; they are what we work at. Through faith in God’s Word, we can receive the miracles we need.
According to I Corinthians 12, one of the gifts of the Holy Ghost is the gift of the working of miracles. This confirms that miracles are worked at!
Miracles are not accidental; they are the deliberate acts of God, motivated by the desperate faith of men!
Faith is the key to miracles. It is the victory that overcomes the world, and it comes by hearing and hearing of God’s Word.
Therefore, when we diligently study God’s Word and believe His promises, there will be a performance of what we have believed.
At Calvary, Jesus paid a great price to grant us access to faith to receive whatsoever we desire. He became a curse for us so that the blessings of Abraham might come upon us.
The Blood of Jesus has reversed every curse against us and ushered us into a new life of great possibilities and unhindered access to supernatural blessings.
As we build up our faith to truly understand what belongs to us in redemption, we will have whatsoever we desire from God.
Today there’s a great need for us to build up our faith for miracles because in these end times, evil is on the increase, incurable diseases are on the rise, and economic instability is growing globally.
As we begin to engage our faith through diligent study and consistent declaration of God’s Word, surely through the Blood of Jesus we will triumph always. While gross darkness increases in the world, we will arise and shine for our light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon us.

PRAYER:
Father, I thank You for the grace to diligently study Your Word so that faith can be ignited in my heart for the miracles I need.
By the power in the Blood, I am breaking free from every bondage and affliction and rising to new levels of glory this month, in Jesus’ Name.

For over thirty years, Althea Maria Edmiston, an African-American missionary, served faithfully in the Belgian Congo under the Presbyterian Church in America. After graduating from university in 1901, she was appointed to the mission field, where she and her fellow missionaries often lived in fear due to political instability, tribal conflicts, and rumors of war.
On November 2, 1904, Althea and the missionaries at her station received terrifying news: King Lukenga, ruler of the region, had ordered the murder of all foreign traders and missionaries. His warriors were instructed to bring him their hearts and heads, and to burn the homes of all white residents. Christian homes were soon attacked, and the region descended into chaos.
Thankfully, the Congolese government rejected the king’s orders and quickly sent soldiers to protect the foreigners. That evening, fierce fighting erupted between the king’s warriors and the government troops. All night long, as battles raged around their compound, Althea and the missionaries prayed for divine protection.
After two days of intense conflict, the soldiers rescued them, escorting about 500 people to safety. Undeterred by the violence, Althea relocated to another town and continued her missionary work, relying always on God’s protection to fulfill her calling..

Though the rest of the world may be in fear and confusion, as believers, we have a strong refuge in God. Our lives and times are in His hands.
God is in perfect control of what is happening in the world today and nothing takes Him by surprise. He knows the end from the beginning.
Despite negative happenings in the world today, God has us encircled, encompassed, covered and shielded with His power.
When horses and chariots from the King of Syria surrounded Elisha, the prophet was not afraid because he knew that the Heavenly forces with him were more than the earthly forces against him. He was surrounded by horses and chariots of fire (2 Kings 6:15-17)
Likewise, as believers in Christ, we need to be conscious that there are fiery Heavenly security and divine forces always surrounding us, this is why we never have to fear!.
God’s Presence around us causes evil to fall and perish before us .
Psalm 9:3 says ‘When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.’
However, what motivates God to divinely protect us is our depth of faith and relationship with Him.
God’s response to us is determined by our knowledge of who He is. Indeed it is those who know their God that will be strong and do exploits.
In this season, our focus therefore should be seeking to know God through His Word and praising Him at all times. As we draw closer to God, we will certainly enjoy divine security and keep experiencing greater open doors, despite the happenings in the world..

PRAYER: Lord, please grant me fresh desire to seek Your Word and Your Spirit so that I can acquire the faith I need to manifest victory and dominion wherever I go in Jesus Name. .

Converted to Christ as a teenager, he began early to prepare to become a minister. Despite health challenges, he was determined to succeed as a minister. He did indeed succeed and by age 30 he was the pastor of the largest Presbyterian church in the United States at the time. But his intense labor to achieve his ministry goals caused his health challenges to surface again. He felt unwell and walked around as a tired old man, though he was only 37 years old. One day, a doctor told him frankly that his days were numbered and he had little time left to live. At that point A.B Simpson knew he needed God to intervene.
He began searching through the Scriptures until he became convinced that divine healing was his portion because of the price of Blood Christ paid at Calvary.
As he cried out in prayer, the Lord healed him and saved him from an early grave. His healing changed the direction of his entire ministry and for the rest of his life he preached divine healing and praised God. In praising God, A. B Simpson composed the lyrics of over 120 hymns, which are sung all over the world today.

Through encounters with God’s Word, we can enjoy divine deliverance in a world full of trials and tribulations. Jesus said in John 16:33 ‘in me ye may have peace, in the world ye shall have tribulation, but take courage — I have overcome the world..
doesn’t matter how weak or limited a person may be, what matters is the strength of your connection to the Word . No matter how gloomy the story is, it can be changed to glory by the workings of the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:18 says “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

The more we look into God’s Word, the more we are changed from glory to glory. The Spirit of God dwells in His Word to ensure our unending progress in life.
As we keep our gaze on God’s Word the Spirit works to ignite in our heart the faith that overcomes the world.
Through faith, you can rise above every valley and reach mountaintops of victory.
Today, if you are at a low point or things seem stagnant in your life, you can change the story to glory by engaging the wind of the Spirit through diligent study of the Word, fervent prayers and passionate worship..
Especially in this new month, do not allow anything to steal your joy. This is a season of rejoicing in the Lord and experiencing new dimensions of glory.
Therefore refuse to be stagnated or defeated, you’re not a victim, you’re the victor. By engaging the power of the Spirit you will certainly, experience a forceful positive turnaround and supernatural change of story in this season.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to spiritually position myself in this new month for a fresh encounter with Your Word that will enable me to do exploits. Thank You for reflecting Your glory through me in this season in Jesus Name.
