In her early twenties, Brenda Epperson worked as a waitress while praying and believing God would open doors into an acting career. Despite having no experience or training in acting, she began going for auditions. One day, she received an unexpected call from CBS: she was selected as one of three finalists to screen test for a major role on the show.
When she got there, she felt intimidated by the more experienced and glamorous women she was up against. Brenda didn’t rely on her own strength. When one of them asked how she got there without a résumé, she boldly said, “God got me here.” Moments before her test, she was given confusing directions, but instead of panicking, she quoted Scripture under her breath—“I’m more than a conqueror”—and remembered Psalm 5:12, that God surrounds the righteous with favor as with a shield. Peace replaced her fear.
She nailed the audition and was offered the role the next day. When she heard the good news, Brenda immediately dropped to her knees in praise. God’s grace had promoted her beyond her qualifications.
Today, Brenda continues to share her testimony as a speaker, author, and worship leader, pointing others to Jesus through her platform.

God has put something in you that gives you an advantage in life. It is called “favor.”
God’s favor will give you positions you did not qualify for and things you didn’t deserve. It will take you from obscurity to notoriety, and from the background to the foreground.
Indeed, God has positioned the righteous for success in life, by surrounding him with favor as a shield.
When you are in right standing with God, His favor will elevate you above others and bring you into new levels of prominence, influence, and credibility.
Through redemption, every believer is destined to be a trailblazer and pacesetter. We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world, a city set on a hill that cannot be hidden.
Though we may sometimes face giants in our journey, because we are born of God, we are born to always overcome.
This is why you should never bow to the winds of opposition or cooperate with your problem by giving up. As a child of God, defeat should never be part of your vocabulary. Failure should never be part of your options. You serve the God who never fails, and He is committed to always giving you the victory.
Therefore, keep your faith strong by focusing on the Word and blessing the Lord at all times.
By God’s grace, this is our season to be propelled to unprecedented heights of glory through the inexplicable favor that surrounds us as a shield.

PRAYER:
Lord, please strengthen me through Your Word to always stand in faith in the face of challenges. I thank You for clothing me with favor and taking me to unprecedented heights in this season in Jesus’ Name.
