JANUARY 18; TRIUMPHING THROUGH THE BLOOD!

Psalm 91:9 ‘Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come near thee..’

DAILY READING; Acts 28:17-31; 1 Samuel 6-7; Psalm 53

Desiree Ayres and her husband, Mel Ayres, are senior pastors and Founders of ‘In His Presence Church’ in Woodland Hills, California.
Several times they have experienced God’s amazing deliverance. Some of these are detailed in Desiree Ayres’ book, titled, “Beyond the Flame.’
One of the miraculous deliverances they have had, was in 2018, when the most destructive wildfire on record in California, swept through the state.
These wildfires brought a great amount of devastation, but as it approached their backyard, Pastor Desiree Ayres and her husband exercised the authority the Lord Jesus gave them. Instead of panicking, in faith, they spoke to the flames and wind and drew a blood line by declaring, “You’ll not come this far in the name of Jesus. Be still, peace, be still!” They sealed their property with the blood of Jesus, before evacuating the region.
After the wildfire, when they went back home, they were amazed by what they saw. Their house was completely safe and not even one piece of grass on their property was singed!
But beyond their grass line was a view of completely scorched and crisped plants. There was no natural reason the fire would stop right there because there were no firemen to hold it back. On top of it all, there was not even a drop of water used to prevent the spread of the fire.
But the power of God through prayer, faith and the pleading of the Blood of Jesus, had stopped the wild fire from touching their property.

What we do on the earth determines Heaven’s response to us.
God has given us the power to determine the outcome of any situation through exercising our authority in prayer.
In Matthew 18:18-20 Jesus says “”Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.’
As believers, we don’t allow things to happen any how around us. As we wield the power of prayer, we can stop the encroachment of the enemy and establish God’s will in every situation.
As the redeemed of the Lord, we are united with Christ, we are His Church designed to express the fullness of His power on earth.
Through His Blood shed at Calvary, Jesus has made us overcomers and more-than-conquerors over every challenge of life.

Revelation 12:11 says “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.…”

Indeed the Blood of Jesus is the greatest weapon that God has given to us to overcome the enemy. The Blood is what will exempt us from the fire of afflictions and problems ravaging the world today. In these last perilous days, just as the Bible prophesied, we are witnessing an increase in calamities, violence, natural disasters etc. But through the Blood of Jesus, no evil shall befall us and plague can come near our dwelling.[ Psalm 91:9 ]
It doesn’t matter what may be happening to others, through the Blood, there is created a barrier between us and all the works of the devil.
Let us therefore daily plead the Blood of Jesus over our lives and over our household. Surely as we apply the Blood, we shall paralyze all satanic activities in our environment and emerge victorious over every challenge.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the power in the Blood of Jesus. Today as I plead the Blood over my life, my family and all that concerns me, I thank You for our divine deliverance and continual victory over the enemy in Jesus Name

JANUARY 17; GOD HAS THE FINAL SAY!

Numbers 23:19 ’God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

DAILY READING; Acts 28:1-16; 1 Samuel 4-5; Psalm 52

Victoria Justiniano had a busy life, as an Author, singer, pastor’s wife and counselor, until she received the devastating news from her doctor that she had leukemia. He told her that 90 percent of her cells were malignant, and she was only functioning on just 10 percent.
Doctors immediately started her on aggressive chemotherapy but it had drastic effects on her as her hair started falling off, she could barely eat and would sometimes cough up blood.
All this while, Victoria kept praying and looking up to God for an answer. She knew this disease was a direct attack from the devil who wanted her dead, but she had strong faith that God would heal her. One day, while watching her 14 year old son, she prayed to God, that she desired to be alive to see her son grow up and at that moment she strongly believed that God had granted her request.
Yet outwardly her situation only seemed to get worse. Soon, her doctors began to rule out her chances of survival.
At this time Victoria’s pastor, received a Word from the Lord. Pastor Richard Rissi of the Grace Christian Center in Hollywood, Florida was getting ready to leave his office, when he felt the Lord tell him to go and pray for Victoria because He would heal her.
Pastor Richard Rissi went to the hospital but on getting there he found Victoria’s family members crying and mourning because Victoria had been hemorrhaging and didn’t look like she would live beyond that day.
Knowing what God had told him, Pastor Richard Rissi went into Victoria’s room and told her ‘Vicky, God is going to heal you. He told me that when I prayed for you, He’s going to heal you.’
She said ‘Oh, I know it. I’ve been waiting for it.’”
Pastor Rissi then prayed a simple prayer and left. By the next morning Victoria got up, and the first thing she asked for was a very big breakfast. From then on, her strength and health began to be miraculously restored, confounding the medical team at the hospital. Soon Victoria was fully healed and left the hospital. It has been over 16 years since Victoria got her miraculous healing and ever since she has been cancer free with no signs of a relapse!
Today, she uses every opportunity to testify of God’s wonders and His faithfulness in her life.

In John 11, Lazarus’ case appeared hopeless and it seemed Jesus had come too late to heal him.
But when Jesus arrived at the grave, all He said was, ‘Lazarus come forth!’, and Lazarus was immediately resurrected.
Indeed through the voice of the Lord, any dead situation can be revived and every closed case can be reversed.
To see miracles, we need to persevere in prayers, warring with God’s Word, which can turnaround any situation.
The fight of faith demands tenacity, consistency and endurance. Even if outside circumstances seem to contradict what God is saying, let your slogan be ‘Let God be true and every devil be a liar.’ Certainly, if God has said it, then He would do it.
Only God has the final say in our lives. Our lives and times are in His hands. Nothing can touch us without His permission. We are not at the mercy of the devil and none of his evil attacks can stop our destiny.
As long as we believe, God, His Words will surely be fulfilled in our lives.
There are times the fight of faith may seem tough and the devil will try hard to convince you that God’s Word will never come to pass. But you need to be resilient even when you don’t see any evidence.
The medical report may not look good, but that sickness doesn’t have the last word in your life, only God does.
Outside situations may be telling you that ‘it’s too late, you cannot make it, it can’t happen,’ but listen rather to what God is saying to you in His Word.
God’s Word says ‘You shall live and not die,” His Word says the number of your days God will fulfill. His Word says “whatever you do will prosper”.
As long as you focus on God’s Word, your story will not end in defeat, it will only end in praise and victory.
Therefore, in this season of fasting and prayers, let us keep our gaze on God’s Word. As you remain steadfast in faith, you are about to see God step in and overturn every negative verdict concerning you. God is about to break those yokes that have held you back and release you into new levels of health, power, influence, increase and abundance.

PRAYER: Lord, in this season of waiting upon You, please enable me to meditate constantly on Your Word so that I can have the faith to obtain Your promises in my life. By Your grace it is certainly my season to step into greater open doors in Jesus Name. .

JANUARY 16; WE TRAVAIL TO PREVAIL!

Mark 14:38 ‘Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

DAILY READING; Acts 27:13-44; 1 Samuel 3; Psalm 51

Paul Jensen was a successful businessman with a lucrative career, a beautiful wife, healthy kids, and an exceptionally strong body and mind. From all outward appearances he had it made… or so he thought. Though Paul professed faith in Christ at a young age, as an adult he had become complacent and filled his life with work, sports, cars, travel, and alcohol.
He even stopped attending church, prompting his wife, sister and mother to begin to earnestly pray for him.
Soon something happened that made Paul to realize that he had been chasing an empty, shallow life without God.
In April of 2002, Paul’s extended family met together in Palm Springs for vacation. Paul, his wife, his sister, her husband and their children went to
Joshua Tree park California. It was a place of mountains,
boulders, sands and scrub trees.
As they hiked, Paul’s sister, Karen suddenly had a deep premonition of evil and fear.
Few minutes later, Paul missed his step and fell seventy-five feet down a steep mountain and landed headfirst on the rock below. Karen, who first got to him thought he was dead, because his body was badly twisted and distorted but she was amazed to realize he was still breathing. Karen then began calling upon the Name of Jesus, over and over again.
After paramedics came and Paul was airlifted to the hospital, a miracle happened.
Though he had fallen from a height that was the equivalent of a four story building, doctors found he had no broken bones, no fractures, no internal bleeding. The CT scan indicated that his brain hadn’t even registered trauma.
After only 4 ½ hours in the hospital, he was released and went home. It was incredible!
His miraculous recovery really shook up Paul. He then realized that his pursuit of the good life without God at the center was an illusion. Thereafter he made God the focus of his life and dedicated himself to promoting the kingdom of God.
His story is contained in his book ‘Over the edge; into truth.’

There is no doubt Paul was preserved by the prayer of his family. At that crucial time of his fall, his buoyant bank account, successful business, luxury cars and friends in high places could not save him.
Only the power of God delivered him from certain death.
Truly we need to get our priorities right. Spending more time in pursuit of worldly things and less time in pursuit of God is a huge risk.
Life is handled with prayers. Just like a driver who has no spare tyre drives carefully, we must live soberly because we have no spare life.
In a world full of snares and temptations, we must be vigilant , because there is an enemy who is going about like a roaring lion looking for whom to devour. We must know how to resist him in faith.
The truth is that either you pray or you become a prey.
This is why Jesus said we should watch and pray lest we enter into temptations.
The way of escape from temptations is prayer.
When you are spiritually fortified in the place of prayer, you will be ready to overcome whatever comes your way.
To be constantly victorious, we must make prayers our priority and give God first place in everything. There can be no compromise or complacency.
As we wait upon the Lord in this season, let us ask for fresh fire and renewed zeal in our relationship with God. Let this season of prayers be a time of building a strong spiritual foundation that will enable us stand in the face of any trial or temptation. As we travail in prayers, we shall surely prevail over every schemes and plots of the enemy. Indeed any stumbling block placed in our way, will only turn into stepping stones to our greater open doors!

PRAYER: Lord, Please in this season, renew fresh fire upon my prayer altar and enable me to make You my greatest priority in life. Thank You for helping me to overcome temptations and to triumph always in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 15; GOD OF MIRACLES!

Jeremiah 32:27 says ‘I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?’

DAILY READING – Acts 27; 1 Samuel 2; Psalm 50.

Christy Beam’s heart broke every time she looked at her little girl, nine-year-old Annabel, curled up in pain on the sofa.
Since she was five years old, Annabel had been diagnosed as having an incurable, deadly digestive disease
The young girl’s life revolved around hospital emergency rooms.. This disease made her to face a life in constant agony, unable to eat.
Her life consisted of lying on the couch in the foetal position with a heating pad on her stomach. She was on 10 medications to make her system work poorly at best.
But Christy and her family continued to pray and believe God for Anabelle’s healing despite how impossible it appeared.
Christy thought things couldn’t get any worse, until one day when her daughter told her she wanted to die and go to Heaven and live with Jesus where there was no more pain’,
But just a week after saying she wanted to die, something amazing happened to Annabel.
In one of her rare days when she felt strong enough to play in the garden, she was trying to climb a hollowed-out cottonwood tree when she suddenly fell and tumbled 30ft inside the hollow of the tree.
It was a
freak fall doctors said should have left her paralysed, but miraculously it left her without a scratch and inexplicably cured her condition.
After firemen spent five hours in rescuing her, she was immediately air lifted to the hospital, and went through a barrage of tests and exams to access the damage.  But to everyone’s surprise, the ER doctor reported that she didn’t have any serious injury. Not only that, medical specialists were amazed to later find that her long standing incurable digestive disease was gone.
Doctors said it was a “medical miracle”.
However Annabel revealed that while lying at the bottom of the tree trunk, she had a divine visitation and encounter with Jesus, and He had healed her of her incurable disease.  Annabel’s transformation was undeniable. Soon she got off all her medications and became a happy, healthy child. Her family carved a cross into the cottonwood tree in their garden to show that the power of the Cross had rescued Anabelle.
Her incredible story is captured in the award winning movie ‘Miracles from heaven’ which has inspired millions of people around the world.

Truly prayers changes things..
Sometimes when faced with problems that seem bigger than us, the natural tendency is to worry and fret. But what we really ought to do is to hand over that situation to God through intense and fervent prayers and believe Him for a miracle.

Jeremiah 32:27 says ‘I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?’

Indeed there is nothing God cannot do. This is why we should quit looking at our challenges and rather get our eyes on the all-powerful, Almighty Creator of the universe. Quit talking to God about how big your problems are and start talking to your problems about how big your God is.
No matter what it may look like, as long as we trust in God, we can be assured He is working it all out together for our good.

No situation that you may face is too difficult for God.
In your darkest night, when you feel the weakest and it looks the most hopeless , be assured that your loving Heavenly Father is right there with you. Even when nothing seems to be happening, He is moving mountains and orchestrating situations to bring forth your miracle. Therefore don’t give up praying.
Don’t give in to discouragement and think the answer will never come.
We serve the prayer answering God. He will surely surprise you in ways and manners your thinking could never even fathom. Therefore in this season of waiting upon the Lord keep your focus on God’s faithfulness. You will not return empty handed from this season of fasting and praying.. Surely God will give you the victory and turn every impossibility into miracles for you.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to always focus on your Word so that I can possess the faith to believe You for my miracle. Thank You Lord for the amazing things You are set to do in my life this year in Jesus Name..

JANUARY 14; GOD WILL DO A NEW THING!

Isaiah 43:19 ‘Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

DAILY READING; • Acts 26:19-32; 1 Samuel 1:1-2:10; Psalm 49

Edward Donnally is a former American jockey, award-winning newspaper journalist, horse racing handicapper, and TV show host.
He achieved success early in life. By the time he was 19 years, Edward Donnally had gained fame and wealth. For almost 20 years, he traveled as a professional jockey, winning about 1200 horse races at over 50 different race tracks. He lived a wild life of drugs and drinking.
When he eventually retired from racing, he became an award-winning newspaper writer and television producer. But intense depression affected everything in his life.
When his marriage ended, he hit rock bottom. Following his divorce, he decided to kill himself and took 36 tablets of Xanax, a drug used in treating anxiety and panic disorders. After that he collapsed and lay dying on the floor, alone in the house.
But God intervened miraculously to save him. Edward didn’t know that there was a friend of his ex-wife’s, whom she had given a spare key to their house. That very day this woman chose to come to the house and when she opened the door and saw Edward on the floor, she called an ambulance.
Though he survived, for the next six years, Edward continued to struggle with depression until when he finally cried out to God for help.
That day as he prayed to God, he got his Bible and it fell open to Isaiah 43:19 which says; ‘Behold, I’ll do a new thing. And it will spring forth. Shall you not know it? I will make you a path in the wilderness and a river in the desert.’”
Edward held on to this Word and truly God began a new thing in his life. As he surrendered his life to Christ, step-by-step, he began to grow spiritually, and became a totally changed man. Today he serves as a chaplain on the Los Angeles mayor’s crisis response team and is also a public speaker who often testifies about how God amazingly transformed his life.

We are always guaranteed victory as long as we invite God into our battles.
No matter how difficult things may appear in the natural, we serve the supernatural God who is able to cause rivers to flow in the desert and do something new in the lives of those who trust in Him.
As we fast and pray in this beginning of the year, it is a good time to believe God for new things and supernatural transformations.
Whatever your prayer focus is, trust God to turn things around in your favor. Sickness will be turned into health, trials will turn into triumphs, lack into abundance, struggle into ease.
That is what God is set to do in your life. Truly, we have come into a turnaround season. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy is coming now.
You don’t have to keep enduring those lingering problems, you can have a change of story by pressing in with specific requests as you fast and pray.
Don’t just pray religiously, be specific about the answers and miracles you want to see.
As you pray with expectations, you are about to see the hand of God do things that are unusual, uncommon and extraordinary.
It doesn’t matter how hopeless any condition, just dare to trust God to do a new thing for you in this season.
Engage your faith for victory by filling your heart with God’s Word and keep calling those things that be not as if they were.
Surely, your desire to see positive changes will manifest in answer to your prayers.. By the power of the Spirit, every trial will turn into a testimony for you. God will give you a new song and turn every mourning into dancing for you in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Lord, I Thank You for the turnaround miracles You are set to do in my life. As I press on in this time of fasting and praying, I thank You Lord, for indeed starting a new thing my life and doing exceedingly, abundantly, above all I could ever imagine in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 13; GOD HEARS WHEN WE CALL!

Psalm 20 1 [NIV] ‘May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.’

DAILY READING; • Acts 26:1-18; Ruth 3-4; Psalm 48

Hermilo Jasso is a professor at Lee University, a private Christian university in Cleveland, Tennessee.
In 2007, he accompanied 30 students to China as part of a cultural exchange program. But a few days after their arrival, he had to be rushed to the hospital due to severe abdominal pain. Doctors discovered that his appendix had ruptured and poisons were already coursing through his body. The case appeared so hopeless that they advised Hermilo Jasso to prepare to die.
Though devastated by the sudden news, Hermilo held on to faith in God, even as the Christian students who had come with him to China, prayed earnestly for his healing.
As Hermillo’s body went into convulsions and it seemed death was near, an amazing thing happened. Suddenly, another doctor came in, and said he believed Hermillo’s case was not hopeless and said he would immediately operate on him.
Around this same time in America, Hermlllo’s father who was a pastor, was about to preach when he felt overwhelmingly burdened to pray for his son. He had no idea about what was happening in China but stopped his preaching and rallied the congregation to pray for his son.
Miraculously, Hermilo’s surgery was successful and his life was saved. He later found out that the doctor who had operated on him was named Dr. Liu and was regarded as the best doctor in China at the time.
This doctor then told Hermillo that he had come looking for him because two mysterious strangers had come to his office and directed him to go and take care of one Professor Jasso who was a very important person.
Hermillo was amazed because he didn’t know anyone in China.
Jasso was even more amazed when Dr. Liu explained to him why he didn’t die. The doctor said that his lower intestine had wrapped around the ruptured appendix so tightly that it stopped poisonous fluids from coming into his abdomen. Dr. Liu said he had never seen such in his 20 years of medical practice.
No doubt, the power of prayers had prompted amazing Heavenly intervention that saved Hermilo Jasso’s life.

Indeed God works wonders through prayers.
No matter how formidable any situation, through the power of prayer you can change the tide of the battle in your favor.
We serve the God of excessive power, excessive grace, and excessive might. There is no problem, trouble, situation or circumstance that God cannot handle.
Any time you face what seems an insurmountable mountain, do not panic. Don’t think that it is the end of the road. As long as you can keep your focus on God’s Word, be assured that help is on the way. God knows how to orchestrate miracles in ways and manners that exceeds our every imagination.
In God, we have an immovable rock that we can always run to.
Even when nothing seems to be happening outwardly, as you keep praying, God is moving mountains and orchestrating situations to bring forth your miracle. Therefore despite any discouraging circumstance, don’t quit praying, don’t quit believing. Surely, God will send you help from Zion, even people you don’t know will come to your aid.

Psalm 20 1 [NIV] says ‘May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.’

As we wait upon the Lord in this season we can expect Heavenly support and angelic interventions.
As we spend time in fasting and praying, whatever may seem to be missing in our health, finances or relationships, there will be a speedy recovery of them all.
Our investments in fasting and praying will never be in vain. Let us therefore praise God because it is our time to experience a sudden shift in our circumstances, we shall indeed see supernatural turnarounds, inexplicable miracles, speedy divine deliverances and overflow of abundant blessings.

PRAYER Lord I thank You for Your grace being released to me to experience divine deliverance and restoration in this season of fasting and praying. You are forever faithful and You never fail. I know that even right now You are perfecting all that concerns me in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 12; OUR NEED FOR SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY!

!

Revelation 4:1, ‘After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.’

DAILY READING; Acts 25; Ruth 1-2; Psalm 47

Charles Grandison Finney is known as America’s foremost revivalist and is credited with being the first preacher to employ the method of altar calls to encourage people to make a decision for Christ.
In 1828, Charles Finney held one of the greatest revivals in history in Rochester, New York.
But Finney would have missed this great move of God if he had not been sensitive to the leading of the Spirit. Finney’s lifestyle of constant prayers and fasting positioned him to pick up divine signals when it mattered most.
In 1828, Finney had many invitations to preach and was greatly at a loss which one to honor.
One of the invitations was from a Presbyterian Church in Rochester, New York, where there had been considerable division and controversy among the Presbyterians. Finney had no inclination to go there.
After he called some friends to pray with him about his next field of labor, the brethren were unanimous in the opinion that he should not go to Rochester. They advised him to go somewhere else in New York or Philadelphia.
Finney agreed with them. But when he retired that night, it became strongly impressed upon him, that the Lord would have him go to Rochester. He sensed that the difficulties at Rochester were the very reasons for him to go there.
Realizing that he and his friends had been all wrong, Finney then made the decision to go to Rochester.
When he arrived there, and began to hold crusades it turned out to become the greatest revival of Finney’s life. There were over 100,000 salvations in only six months and eventually almost every person in the town got saved and started going to church. The revival was so intense that the people lost interest in worldly things, The only theater in town closed because no one went anymore. The only beer joint in town closed too and the courthouses were virtually empty because there were hardly offenders.
Charles Finney’s revival inspired the Second Great Awakening and his ministry paved the way for later mass-evangelists such as Dwight L. Moody and Billy Sunday.

Our assessment of situations can never be more accurate than the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Life often presents us with many options and different paths but God alone knows the best direction for us to follow.
We must understand that our days have been ordained by God even before the foundation of the world. Our purpose have already been mapped out even before we were born. There is a script to our life’s story.
To successfully follow this divine script and avoid pitfalls in life, we need to be sensitive to the guidance of the Spirit.
Proverbs 3:5 tells us to trust in the Lord with all our heart, and not to lean on our own understanding.
It can be tempting to lean on our understanding by relying on our physical senses or following the advice of others, but there is a way which seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
To be able to clearly hear the Spirit, and know what to do , we must come up to a higher spiritual level because a carnal mind cannot receive the things of God.
Revelation 4:1 says “Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.’

Our spirit man needs to be trained to become more sensitive to God’s voice, so as not to miss our kairos moments.
To increase in spirituality, we must commit to a lifestyle of fervent prayers, fasting and in-depth study of the Word.
As we become rightly positioned spiritually, God will show us great and mighty things. [Jeremiah 33:3]. And through His divine guidance, we will avoid mistakes and regrets of life, enjoy great open doors and speedy progress in our endeavors.

PRAYER Lord, Please by Your Spirit, guide me on this journey of destiny. Help me to be willing to pay whatever price it takes, to hear Your clear divine direction to enable me excel in life in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 11; PAYING THE PRICE FOR GLORY!

Romans 8:18 “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us;’

DAILY READING; • Acts 24:10-27; Judges 21; Psalm 46

For many atrocities during his leadership of Iraq, Saddam Hussein became targeted by the American military.
After America’s 2003 invasion of Iraq, Hussein totally disappeared from public view. To find him, one of the largest manhunts in history, was launched, codenamed “Operation Red Dawn.” But Hussein was nowhere to be found.
Eric Maddox is the Army interrogator specialist who is credited with pinpointing the location where Hussein was finally found.
Recently, Eric Maddox has written a book titled “Mission: Black List #1: The Inside Story of the Search for Saddam Hussein.”
In this book, Maddox shares the secret of what led him to find Saddam Hussein when all efforts had failed.
He said that Saddam had a special appetite for fish, which proved to be fatal because it led to his capture.
As an investigator, Maddox knew that people could be tracked down through their vices, so he began to look for the vices that Saddam had.
After interrogating more than 300 people he eventually questioned Saddam’s chef, who revealed that Saddam had a special appetite for a grilled fish meal.
Maddox theorized that since people closest to Hussein could not visit the fish market because of fear of arrest, there had to be another way they were getting fish for Saddam.
When he found out that a former associate of Hussein’s had built and stocked a fish pond, Maddox was able to connect all the dots.
After Maddox and the US special ops team located this fish pond, they soon discovered the hideout of Hussein’s bodyguard close by.
The capture of this bodyguard eventually led the special ops team to find Saddam Hussein on 13 December 2003 where he had been hiding in a hole in the ground

It is interesting that Saddam Hussein’s craving for fish was so acute that it had to be satisfied, even in the midst of a massive manhunt for him.
We can learn a spiritual lesson from this.
Failure to control one’s appetite or craving can lead to negative consequences.
Genesis 25:31 tells the story of how Esau’s uncontrolled appetite led him to sell off his birthright.
Biblically, the first-born son’s birthright included a double portion of the paternal inheritance. But Esau traded this blessing for a plate of porridge.
In an uncontrollable feat of hunger, he allowed his stomach to decide his destiny..
If he had taken just a moment to think about the benefits involved, he would never have made the rash decision.of despising his birthright.
In this period of fasting and praying, we are in a season of securing a glorious inheritance from Heaven. We must therefore discipline our flesh and not allow it to hinder us from the great rewards and benefits that awaits us.
By the power in the Blood of Jesus, we receive the grace not to sell off our birthright of glory to uncontrolled appetite.
This year, by God’s grace, our story must change for the better. Enough of stagnancy, afflictions, shame, lack of progress etc. This year, through the Blood of Jesus, we must surely overcome. It is our time to arise and shine and soar to greater heights.
Though fasting may not be easy, let us pay the needed spiritual price now so that we can see the glory we desire.

Romans 8:18 says For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us;’

As we wait upon God, we will receive power and renewed strength to go forth and excel.
Surely, in this season as we pray the required price, we shall see the glory of God manifest like never before in our lives.

PRAYER: Lord, please grant me the grace to always seek Your glory and not the immediate gratification of the flesh. Please help me to seek Your kingdom first so that all things can be added unto me in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 10: YOU CAN HAVE WHAT YOU DESIRE!

Mark 11:24 ‘What things so ever you desire when you pray believe that you receive them and you shall have them’

DAILY READING; • Acts 23:23-24:9; Judges 20; Psalm 45

Two days ago, on January 8, 2023, the internationally acclaimed minister of the Gospel, Pastor Jack Hayford died, at age 88. He was a prolific, best-selling author of more than 100 books. He also composed 600 hymns — including the internationally known and widely recorded “Majesty.”
However, Jack was only able to live a long and impactful life and be a blessing to his generation because of divine intervention early in his life. He was only one year old, when the enemy sought to truncate his life and destiny.
Jack was born in 1934 with a life threatening disease that defied medical solutions. This condition was gradually twisting his neck, and would have killed him in a matter of time.
His parents didn’t know a way to save his life. They were not Christians and didn’t know about the power of prayer.
When his mother’s cousin heard about miracles taking place in the Foursquare Church in California, she wrote down a prayer request for Jack and took this note to the Church.
As the Church members prayed over the request for Jack’s healing, something supernatural happened. By the next day, Jack’s parents began to notice an instant improvement in his condition. And within the next few days, he was healed. As a result of this miracle, Jack’s family accepted Christ and began to worship at the Foursquare Church.
Jack grew up to become a minister of the Gospel and would become one of the most highly respected Pentecostal leaders in the world.

God’s great plans for the life of Jack Hayford would have been truncated if no one had interceded for his healing.
But when those believers prayed, God healed him and his destiny was preserved.
Indeed God causes miracles to happen on earth when men and women pray in agreement with His will.
The greatest power human beings possess is the power to influence earth from Heaven through prayer.
Something supernatural happens whenever we pray.
God has given us the awesome privilege of prayer so that we can have whatever we desire in accordance to His Word.

Mark 11:24 tells us ‘What things so ever you desire when you pray believe that you receive them and you shall have them’

Through prayer we can have our desire of experiencing supernatural victories over every resistance to our progress.
The truth is that every great destiny will be resisted by the enemy, but those who travail in prayers, will prevail in life. Indeed we must kneel in prayers to stand in victory.
As believers, we have no alternative to prayer because there is an enemy who is on the prowl looking for destinies to truncate; as long we keep praying, our lives will be too hot for him to gain access.
To walk in power and victory, we must constantly renew our oil and fire through periodic fasting and praying.
Fasting is the price we pay to see great manifestations of power and divine accelerations. There is power in prayer, but when combined with fasting, it becomes explosive and irresistible!
Therefore as we engage in the season of fasting and prayer, it is our time to overcome any strongman resisting our forward movement.
Because prayer is the spiritual control room of life, as we pray, we shall be setting the course of speedy progress for this year.
As we fast and pray, let us expect divine open doors, inexplicable miracles, and supernatural victories over every enemy of our glorious destiny.

PRAYER: Lord, please grant me grace for perseverance at the altar of prayer. May I never grow weary, rather I shall keep growing from strength to strength, and from victory to victory in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 9; PRAYER CHANGES THINGS!

James 5:16[AMP] ‘The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].’

DAILY READING; • Acts 22:30-23:22; Judges 19; Psalm 44

Pritchard Adams and his wife Dana have served as missionaries to Haiti for 28 years.
In her book “Into The Storm,” Diana testifies of the power of prayer in their lives.
While they were on a visit to Canada, one morning her husband felt a pain in his head so severe that he collapsed to the bathroom floor. Paramedics arrived and whisked him away to the hospital where doctors discovered he had suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm; an artery at the base of his skull had burst.
While they performed surgery to stop the bleeding, Pritchard slipped into a coma. Because nearly half of all people who suffer brain aneurysm usually die, doctors didn’t think Pritchard would live.
However, as the news spread and many people started praying and fasting for Pritchard, miracles began to happen.
Pritchard beat the odds and survived. But two days later, he had a cardiac arrest and a second artery exploded in his head. This time doctors were certain he would not make it.
Dana then began to engage in spiritual warfare. With her husband still in a coma, she stood by his bed and started rebuking the spirit of death.
Pritchard confused the neurosurgeons, when he again survived the second artery that ruptured.
However, they remained unsure he would wake up from the coma and predicted that even if he recovered he would have permanent and severe brain damage.
Dana’s faith never wavered. She continued to pray, asking the Lord to give them a miracle.
The Lord did give her a miracle. After a 26-day coma, Pritchard woke up and did not suffer the neurological impairment doctors had predicted.
After 52 days in the hospital, Pritchard fully recovered, and left the hospital in good condition.
Today, Pritchard lives an active life and his life remains a powerful testimony of the power of prayer.

Certainly, prayer is the key that opens impossible doors.
Our prayers can cause divine reversals and turnarounds, just like Elijah’s prayers did.
James 5:16 says Elijah prayed earnestly that it would not rain and it stopped raining for three years. He prayed again that it would rain and it rained.
The Amplified Bible translation of James 5:16 says “The earnest [heartfelt, continued] prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].”
When we pray, we have the potential of igniting the explosive dynamic power of Heaven in our circumstances.
No matter what may be happening around you, through prayer you can overturn any verdict and transform any condition.
Prayer is the link that allows us to access Heaven’s help and to release God’s power on earth..
We must understand that we are not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12).
Therefore, we must address the spiritual cause of issues, if we want to get to the cure.
This is why we engage in fasting and praying.
Fasting and praying is a spiritual weapon that shatters demonic barriers and makes the way for the flow of miracles.
Therefore, as we step into our season of fasting and praying, we can expect to see the mighty release of God’s power that will destroy hitherto impossible barriers in our lives.
Let us get ready to experience God’s yoke breaking power as He goes before us to break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron ( Isaiah 45:2).
Because praise precedes the victory, let us therefore begin giving God worthy praise because of the wonders He will do in our lives this year.

PRAYER: Lord, by Your grace I draw the strength to persevere in this season of prayer and fasting so that I can experience all the good things You have ordained for me in this new year in Jesus Name.
