On August 7, 1954, two great runners, Roger Bannister and John Landy, met together for a historic race. The race was to determine which of them was a better runner.
Three months earlier, Roger had made history by becoming the first man to run a mile in less than 4 minutes. But within 2 months, his record was broken by John Landy, so it was decided that the two men had to race against each other.
When the race began, the two runners put in their best, each determined to win. As they moved into the last lap, John Landy was leading, and it appeared certain he would emerge the winner. But as he neared the finish line, he became curious to know Bannister’s position and how much of a gap was between them. In order to look back, he had to slow down a bit. But that was a grave mistake because Bannister, who was right behind, quickly overtook him, crossed the finish line first, and won the race.
Losing this race was devastating for Landy, and in an interview with Time magazine, he said, “If I hadn’t looked back, I would have won!”

Runners on the track have their minds focused on one thing: the finish line. A person who minds the opposition may end up losing their position.

1 Corinthians 9:24–27 tells us that discipline is the key to winning our life’s race. We must stay focused on our goal and not get sidetracked by anyone or anything.

Before us this year, is the goal of breaking forth to global impact and visibility. But to arrive at this destination requires moving forward in faith and not look back inspite of discouragements and disappointments.
In Philippians 3:12-13, Apostle Paul said, “I press on, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead.”
To soar to new levels of destiny, you have to develop the ability to ignore distractions and go forward against all odds..
In Hebrews 12:1-2, we are encouraged to lay aside anything that might hinder our spiritual advancement.
Victory will come as we keep our eyes single on God’s word, follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and keep looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
It doesn’t matter how the enemy tries to frustrate your dream; as long as you stay in faith, it is only a matter of time before you break forth to enviable heights and arrive at your destined place of glory and overflowing blessings.

PRAYER: Lord, please grant me the endurance to focus on the race before me. By Your grace, I shall never be derailed from arriving at my glorious destination and fulfilling my divine purpose in Jesus Name.

David Hogan is an international minister who is known for his missionary work in the jungles of Mexico for more than 30 years.
His ministry in Mexico began in 1977 when he moved there with his wife to serve the Indians of Mexico.
At the initial stage of his ministry, he learned the importance of standing in faith against all odds..
One day, he was preaching in a small village in Mexico, when a man asked him to come and pray for his dying son.
When he got to the house he found the child had died and standing around were two black magic warlocks and two spiritist healers who had been called to heal the boy, but had failed to do so. At that point, fear and doubt began to grip David Hogan’s heart as he wondered how he could possibly raise the dead child. But he determined to believe God’s Word and operate by faith. He began to pray in tongues for a long while. As he was about to conclude his prayer, suddenly, the boy jerked back to life.
This first experience of raising the dead gave David Hogan a deep insight about exercising faith even in the face of adverse circumstances.
From then on he began ministering with such boldness that resulted in an overwhelming number of healings in his ministry including many people being raised from the dead.

To effectively serve God we need supernatural boldness. This is because, on the journey.of destiny we will be confronted sometimes by fearful challenges.
Except the Spirit of God emboldens us, we may be too afraid to make significant moves. We need the Holy Spirit to quicken us to take steps of faith even when it looks like nothing is going to work.
When Joshua was about to go forth with the army of Israel to possess the promised land, God commanded him to meditate on the Word day and night, by so doing he will be strong, courageous, and not be afraid or dismayed.
Likewise to possess our promised land and come into our inheritance we must be filled with faith through constant meditation in the Word.
While fear comes from looking at the impossibilities in the world, faith comes from looking at the possibilities in God’s Word.
Certainly today, as we keep blessing God and keep moving with boldness, surely He will cause us to experience supernatural breakthroughs and diverse miracles in every area of need.

PRAYER: Lord, please enable me to meditate constantly on Your Word so that I can be strong and courageous to break forth to higher dimensions this year in Jesus Name. .

Marcus Stanley’s life goal was to become a successful musician, enjoy fame and an extravgant lifestyle. Though he was touring with Gospel musicians like Donnie McClurkin, Marcus didn’t really pay attention to the message of the Gospel.
However, his life changed suddenly one late night in 2004 in Baltimore. He was going to buy something at a late night store when he was confronted by six members of a street gang who shot him eight times at close range. As the gunshots exploded around him, Marcus saw an angel suddenly appear who shielded him from death.
Covered in blood, Marcus was able to use his phone and call 911. When he was rushed to the hospital, doctors didn’t think he would survive. In the surgery room, Marcus again saw the angel, who stood by nodding his head and Marcus felt God’s peace. Doctors performed an eight-hour surgery on him. The chief surgeon would later confess that he felt like someone else used his hands to perform the surgery.
Through God’s grace, Marcus survived against all odds. His amazing divine deliverance made him to eventually abandon his worldly aspirations and fully surrender his life to Christ. Today he is a Gospel musician and speaker, who is impacting lives for Christ.

It is very risky for anyone to seek success without divine cover, especially in these last perilous days, where there is increase of violence, troubles, calamities and disasters etc.
When your mission is to seek God first, good things will naturally follow you. When you find Him, there shall be a reward and your expectations shall not be cut off. When we invest our time in building our faith and seeking more of God, we will enjoy ceaseless breakthroughs.
It is the blessings of God that make rich and adds no sorrow to it.
Our commitment to serve Christ guarantees us divine success and exemption from the perils in the world. In times of troubles His Blood creates a barrier between us and the attacks of the devil.
Certainly, by the power in the Blood of Jesus, no evil shall befall us and no plague can come near our dwelling place.[Psalm 91:9].
Today, let us make the quality decision to make God our greatest priority in life .As we seek Him fervently surely we will enjoy all round blessings and keep breaking forth to greater dimensions of success.

PRAYER: Lord please help me to avoid being distracted from the pursuit of Your Presence. As I seek You, I thank You for bountifully releasing Your blessings of grace, mercy and favor upon me in Jesus Name.

Gladys May Aylward was 26 years old in October of 1930, when she travelled from London to China to assist a 73-year-old missionary, Mrs. Jeannie Lawson. The two women served in the Chinese town of Yangchen. After the death of Mrs. Jeannie Lawson, Gladys continued the missionary work. Though she appeared an ordinary woman of small size, through faith in God, she did great exploits that earned her respect from the local authorities.
During her second year in Yangchen, a bloody riot broke out in the men’s prison and the soldiers were afraid to go in to intervene. The Mandarin sent for Gladys and asked her to go in and stop the rioting because she had been preaching to them that through Christ she had nothing to fear.
Faced with the opportunity to prove her faith in God, Gladys walked into the prison. Incredibly, this 5-foot-2-inch-tall missionary was able to calm down the knife-wielding prisoners. After listening to their complaints of squalid conditions of living, Gladys got the warden to make prison reforms. Her good works won the people over and presented the opportunity to lead many to Christ.
Her amazing story was made into a Hollywood movie and in 2008, a documentary was released about her life titled ‘Small Woman with a Great God’.

Every child of God carries the wonder-working power of Christ. It doesn’t matter your physical size or situation, there is an incredible, invisible mighty power in you that can handle any situation.
One of the devil’s strategies is to make you feel incapable of achieving anything significant. Through fear he exaggerates your weaknesses and tries to sabotage your strengths, to keep you from stepping forward to accomplish great things.
As a believer you are destined for global impact and through Christ, you are empowered to do all things. Our confidence is not in ourselves but in the greater One who lives in us. His Name is “El Shaddai” which means the “Almighty God.” His Name means He has the power and ability to devastate and destroy His enemies. Indeed our God is great and mighty.
Through receiving Christ we have been given the power to become the sons of this mighty God and operate in dominion upon the earth. The power of our faith guarantees us the victory that overcomes the world. Today, as we commit ourselves to constantly fill our hearts with the Word, surely through Christ we will triumph always and achieve extraordinary breakthroughs.

PRAYER: Lord, Thank You for always being there to deliver me, no matter what I may face in life. By Your grace I will emerge more than a conqueror in every challenge in Jesus Name.

Monica and Anthony Gardener were ministers of the Gospel who served in Mount Laurel, New Jersey. In 1992 Monica became pregnant and believed God had a significant destiny for her child.
After her daughter, named English Gardner was born, the child appeared full of athletic potentials. While in high school, she began to win competitive races and break athletic records. It looked like she was indeed on her way to fulfilling her great destiny, but suddenly things began to fall apart in their family. Her mother, Monica, was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer and given only months to live, while her father, Anthony, suffered a stroke. Few months later English Gardner herself tore the muscle around her knee joint and doctors had little hope she would ever run again. Despite these great difficulties, the family didn’t give up hope. As they prayed and stood in faith, things began to turn around, the affliction passed and English and her parents recovered.
English continued with her athletic career, and went on to become a decorated Olympian and established as one of America’s most celebrated female athletes.

Trials, storms and tempests cannot stop the journey to your destiny as long as you abide steadfast in faith. In Acts 27, Apostle Paul faced a storm on his way to an appointment with destiny. He was going to Rome to meet Emperor Caesar, so that he could be set free from captivity. But a terrible storm hit their ship leading the passengers to lose hope of survival. In the midst of the storm, Paul prayed and received a Word of assurance from an Angel of the Lord: that they would all arrive safely to Rome. But the situation didn’t immediately change, and even appeared to get worse as they suffered a ship wreck. But in the end the Word of God came to pass and all the passengers were saved and arrived safely to Rome.
Sometimes God’s promises may appear to be just the opposite of what you see. But it is often said that it is darkest just before the day dawns. So do not quickly give up hope in any trial. In the middle of the storm declare words of faith in the face of fear, talk strength in the face of weakness, declare health in the face of sickness, talk victory in the face of defeat.
The reason the enemy is fighting so hard – sending financial troubles, sickness, family problems, etc – is to distract you from your appointment with destiny. But the significant call upon your life cannot be aborted as long as you remain steadfast in faith. Today, as you keep blessing the Lord at all times you will soon breakthrough every limitation and break forth to the glorious fulfillment of your amazing destiny.

PRAYER
Lord, I thank You because surely Your promises to me will soon come to pass. Please grant me the grace to be steadfast and immoveable, continually giving You all the glory until my miracle comes in Jesus’ Name.

After two young Iranian women attended a Christian conference in Turkey in 2005, they surrendered their lives to Christ.
Maryam Rostampour and Marziyeh Amirizadeh, who had been Moslems, became close friends and resolved to go back to Iran to share the Gospel with their people. However, while in Iran, they had to secretly practice their faith because penalty for being a Christian meant imprisonment or death. They turned their home into a “house church” and at night they went through Iranian cities distributing copies of the New Testament Bible.
However, one day, their activities were discovered and Iranian government officials arrested them and threw them into one of Iran’s worst prisons- Tehran’s Evin prison. There, they were forced to sleep on the floor in a room with about 40 other prisoners. They were asked repeatedly to deny their Christian faith, or be beaten mercilessly. Yet, these two women held on to faith in God and refused to bow to the threats and intimidations. Rather they began to use the opportunity of being in jail to share the Gospel with the other women prisoners.
After spending 8 months in the notorious prison, their story became known to the international media, who widely reported it. Consequently, international pressure forced Iranian government to release them in November 2009. They left Iran to live in the United States where they have continued their ministry of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their story of unyielding faith is contained in their book, ‘Captive in Iran’.

The presence of the storm does not mean the absence of the Lord.
Right in the midst of problems, when the night appears to be darkest, through steadfast faith in Christ we will always overcome.
Despite the trials and tribulations, we will eventually emerge victorious, as we remain rooted in God’s Word.
It is the Word within us that births the faith that will cause us to triumph always.
By virtue of our birth we are world overcomers. Because the greater One is in us, we are destined to be winners in every conflict. The problems may look stern. The seas may rage and the storm may be tempestuous but in all these we are more than conquerors. .
Therefore in every situation, let us always choose to stay strong in faith and give glory to God, because He is working behind the scenes for our good. We must abide steadfast in faith because it is the key out of seemingly impossible doors.
The outcome of every situation is determined by our level of faith. Therefore, it is wisdom to invest in our faith and keep it strong, through diligent study of the Word because faith comes by hearing God’s Word.
Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly” This means you soak up the Word just as a dry sponge soaks up water until you are saturated with faith..
Through faith, God will cause you to triumph over every situation. His grace will sustain you and see you through every tribulation.
Therefore today, fear not and let not your heart be troubled, for your God is faithful. Surely, He will preserve you through every storm and cause you to break forth to greater heights.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the grace to stand strong in faith at all times. No matter what I may pass through, I know I am coming out stronger and better in Jesus Name.

Colorado is the highest state in the U.S., with an average altitude of 6,800 feet above sea level. Researchers note that Colorado has the nation’s lowest death rate from heart disease and has lower rates of lung and colon cancer. It is one of the states where people live the longest, with an average life span of 81.3 years.
Recent studies have indicated that people who live at higher altitudes live healthier. The benefits are seen in a longer life span, less disease, and lower obesity rates. One of the key benefits of living at higher altitudes is that people lose weight. The reason this is important is because obesity can lead to a host of other problems—ddiabetes, heart and lung issues, etc. But people who live at high altitudes around the world escape these diseases and enjoy healthier lives.

In the same way, spiritually, those who live higher live better. God has ordained for us to live a mountaintop life. We are created for the high places of life.

Ephesians 2:6 says that God has raised us up and made us sit together in heavenly places with Christ Jesus.
After Jesus was raised from the dead, Ephesians 1:20 says God highly exalted Him to a position of honor at His right hand and gave Him a name that is above every name.
Jesus is seated in the highest position in the universe, at God’s right hand. As believers, we are meant to sit above with Him, in a position of authority, honor, and triumph. However, there is a price to pay to get there. Nothing happens on its own accord.
An airplane, with all its high altitude potential, will remain on the floor until it applies the necessary power to rise.
When we live above, we will depart from the life of hell that plagues those who live below [Proverbs 15:24].
We must therefore be willing to pay the required price to rise spiritually through prayer and deep commitment to God’s Word.
The above life is the life of faith, where we have the victory that overcomes the world. That is certainly our portion of this season. Let us therefore seek to go higher spiritually so that we can live in divine health, and enjoy unending breakthroughs and breaking forth on every side.

PRAYER: Father, please help me to pay the required price of spiritual responsibility so as to rise to the high place You have ordained for me. I receive grace to always live in faith and victory in Jesus Name.

As a musician, Kirk Martin was so desperate for success that he was willing to do anything—even turn his back on God.
Martin was brought up in a loving Christian family. But after suffering abuse at the hands of some older boys at church, Martin became disillusioned about Christianity. As he grew older, he got into heavy cocaine use and criminal activities.
He later went into heavy metal music and formed a small band. Martin wanted great fame and success and desperately sought a recording contract.
After suffering several setbacks, he decided to make a pact with the devil to give him success in exchange for using his music to send people to hell.
Two days later, he was shocked to be called for a huge recording contract, which he knew was from the devil. But just before he could sign the papers, he had an angelic encounter. A man he believed was an angel met him, told him God still loved him, and then disappeared into thin air.
Martin was totally shaken by this experience. Then, a month later, he was awakened early in the morning to a divine encounter with God that made him finally totally surrender his life to Christ. Thereafter, he turned his back on worldly music and never signed the recording contract. As he began to use his musical talent to serve God, massive doors of success began to open, and now Kirk ministers all around the world, using his music to turn many souls to Christ.

Today, many people are so desperate for breakthroughs that they are willing to do anything to obtain them. But faith in God is the key to success in life.
Pursuing after the heart of God is the secret card to experiencing unending progress.
Psalm 34:10 says, “But those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”
When we seek God and His kingdom, good things run after us. Indeed, what you seek after determines what seeks after you. And putting God first in all our affairs causes success to come after us. When we give God our best, He’ll certainly take care of the rest.
God is the maker of men’s destinies, and it is only through following Him that we become made in life (Matt. 4:19). The truth is that all the labor of man is in vain except when the Lord builds the house [Psalm 127:1].
When you put God first, you will never end up last. And when you advance His kingdom, He will advance your endeavors and perfect all that concerns you.
To overcome stagnation and truly break forth on every side, we need to let God take first place in our affairs. As we continually give Him the glory, He will certainly change our story.
Mighty men are made by the Almighty God. He is the Most High God, and all who sincerely seek Him end up in the high places of life.

PRAYER:
Lord, I thank You for the grace to always seek the advancement of Your kingdom. As I put You first in all my affairs, I thank You for divine additions, breakthroughs, and all-around success in Jesus’ Name.

Dr. William Leslie was an American medical missionary to the Yansi people, a remote tribe in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In 1912 after he felt the call of God to bring the Gospel to the unreached tribal people, Dr. Leslie traveled through the jungle, spreading the Gospel and started the first organized educational system in these villages. But after 17 years of ministry, he hardly made any converts among the Yansi people. Discouraged, Dr. William Leslie returned to America in 1929, believing he had failed to make an impact for Christ in his mission. He died nine years after his return.
Eighty-four years later, a new team of missionaries attempted to reach the same group of Yansi people. Arriving there in 2010, a team from Tom Cox World Ministries was stunned to find a vibrant network of Churches in the dense jungle region. Thousands of people had come to Christ, planting eight Churches in each of the villages in the region.

The team was baffled about how these remote people could have received the Gospel until they heard the story of Dr. William Leslie, who had first brought the Gospel to their village. Dr. William Leslie had died disappointed and discouraged, never knowing the good seeds he had sown would one day germinate into these flourishing interior Churches.

In carrying out God’s assignment for our lives, we will often encounter various discouraging situations. But we must refuse to stay down, but rather keep rising and moving forward. The truth is that you are never a failure until you quit.

Many times, we miss out on God’s best because we become impatient with the process that births the promise. And some of the times we feel the need to give up may actually have been when we were closest to our victory. As long as you stay faithful, you will indeed be fruitful. Do not become disheartened because you did not see victory or progress today. Rather, be persistent in your zeal and efforts to obey God. If you will not be weary in well-doing, in due season you will surely reap [Galatians 6:9].

As a believer, you have to have faith in God’s promise that says you shall eat the fruits of your labor. Isaiah 65:22–23 says you shall not build, and another shall inhabit; you shall not plant, and another shall eat. God says, ‘you shall long enjoy the work of your hands, and you shall not labor in vain, nor bring forth for trouble.’ When you are in the right relationship with God, you can always trust the fulfillment of His word. Do not let the enemy, your own thoughts, or anyone else tell you anything different.

By God’s grace, this will be our season of divine rewards. It will be our time to break forth into new levels of health, prosperity, opportunities, and promotions as God’s abundant blessings flow towards us.

PRAYER
Lord, I thank You for the grace and strength to keep pressing forward in every situation. By Your grace, I shall soon see a manifestation of Your amazing promises in my life, in Jesus Name.

In 2012, a rare and aggressive form of bone cancer upended Marjorie Heitkamp’s life.
It had started with a persistent cough that wouldn’t clear up, so she decided to see a doctor.
She was shocked to be told that she had cancer in parts of her right lung, which needed surgery to be removed. This devastating news only got worse as it was further discovered that she had bone cancer, a rare and aggressive type.
When the treatment started, it was so intense that the doctors warned Marjorie that she might not survive it. She then made the choice to fight the fight of faith. She held on to God’s word, listening to scriptures, and continued praying fervently.
One day, the daily radiation regimen was so severe that she fell unconscious. In that condition, she had a divine visitation where God healed her. When she woke up, she sat up in bed and began to declare that she was healed.
The oncologist warned her not to discontinue treatment because she would be dead within six months, But Majorie chose to return home, holding on to her faith that God had healed her. Three months later, she went for her first cancer check-up, and it came up negative. And every test she has done ever since has been negative. Years later, she has remained cancer-free, and today Marjorie goes about sharing her powerful testimony of divine healing. Her story has been featured on the 700 Club and other Christian media Networks.

Through faith in God, Marjorie refused to accept the negative medical verdict and pressed on until her divine healing came.
To see miracles, we must learn to persist in faith, engaging the weapon of the Blood until our victory comes.
Jesus paid a high price at the cross to ensure we are redeemed from every oppression of darkness.

Galatians 3:13 says, ‘Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:’

Those verses reveal an exchange that took place when Jesus hung on the cross. The book of Leviticus states that anyone who dies by hanging on a tree is a curse. So when Jesus hung on the cross, He took upon Him our curses so that we might receive His blessings.
He was wounded for our transgressions and by His stripes, we are healed [Isaiah 53:5].

Today, no matter what battle you may be facing in your health, finances, or relationships, be assured that the price for your victory has been paid at the Cross. Through the power in the Blood of Jesus, you will never be defeated by any attack of the enemy. Because you are born of God, you are born to overcome every negative condition and triumph always through Christ.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for Your continual faithfulness and Your Word that never fails. I know today that, You are intervening in my affairs and changing every negative report into a testimony for me in Jesus’ Name.
