AUGUST 25; THE TRIUMPH OF FAITH!

Ephesians 6:16 ‘Above all, taking the shield of faith where with ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.’

DAILY READING; Colossians 3:18-4:18; Ezekiel 31-32; Isaiah 56

From 1965 until he was overthrown and killed in a revolution in 1989, Nicolae Ceausescu ran a brutal communist regime in Romania. Under him, the Bible became forbidden in all of Romania. No one was allowed to read it. However when a young female attorney, named Virginia Prodan dared to read the Bible, she encountered deep truths that made her surrender her life to Christ. Through her work as an attorney, she began to defend Christians against persecutions of Ceausescu’s brutal regime. Her fearless stand as a Christian, made her to become a target of Nicolae Ceausescu who sent the secret police after her. She was kidnapped, beaten, tortured, placed under house arrest, and was almost executed under the orders of the president himself.
One day, while working late at night, an assassin entered her office and pulled out his gun to shoot. Despite the initial shock, Virginia began silent, fervent prayers, recalling God’s promises. In that moment she felt the Holy Spirit prompting her to share the Gospel with the man. As she began preaching to him, to her utmost surprise he listened and began weeping. That night he gave his life to Christ. This man would give up his evil ways, later studied theology and became a pastor in Bucharest following the collapse of Nicolae Ceausescu’s regime.
A great testament of Virginia Prodan’s faith in God is how she not only managed to elude her enemies, but also helped to expose the appalling secrets that would ultimately lead to the demise of Ceausescu’s evil empire. Today, Virginia Prodan is an International Human Rights Attorney and author of the book, ‘saving my assassin’.

Truly, faith makes the difference between victory and defeat.
No matter how the enemy tries to corner you, as long as your faith remains intact you cannot be defeated.
Faith is crucial if we must live a victorious life.
A time came when Jesus told Simon Peter that the devil was plotting against him, but He had prayed that Peter’s faith would not fail.
Luke 22:31-32 says ‘And the Lord said, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you that he may sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not.’

Notice that Jesus did not pray for the temptation not to come, because He knew it was normal to be tempted, but His prayer was that Peter’s faith would not fail.
As long as your faith does not fail, you will remain indefatigable. People may come against you, but through faith, what they meant for evil will turn around for your good. A door may close against you but through faith, greater doors will open in its place.
Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. Faith is both our weapon of resistance and defense, against the enemy.
1 Peter 5: 9 says we should resist the enemy steadfastly through faith, and Ephesians 6:16 says we should take the shield of faith, where with we shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Let us therefore constantly equip ourselves with faith through in-depth study of God’s Word.
As long as you are armed with faith, in times of confrontation, you will stand tall and never fall.

PRAYER: Father please grant me the grace to diligently seek Your Word, so that I can acquire the triumphant faith I need to overcome all obstacles on my way. Thank You Lord, for giving me constant victory in Jesus Name.

.AUGUST 24; ,BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS!

Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee'”

DAILY READING; Colossians 2:20-3:17; Ezekiel 29-30; Isaiah 55

The Gideons have been placing copies of the Bible in hotels, hospitals, shelters, and prisons for well over a century.
The story of the Gideons began when two business men, John H. Nicholson and Samuel E. Hill met at a hotel in 1898. These two businessmen knew the temptations of being far away from their home and so struck up a conversation about how to create an Association for Christian traveling men.
Through prayer they felt inspired by the story of Gideon in the Bible. Consequently, they adopted the name of Gideons for their organization.
They eventually embarked on a project of leaving copies of the Bible at various establishments so that people everywhere could have easy access to God’s Word.
However, the Project was so large that they found themselves ill-equipped to carry it out.
A great door was opened to them when the Ministerial Union of Iowa voted to help fund their efforts. This enabled them to begin extensively placing Bibles in hotels. From there the ministry began to grow and today, the Gideons have taken more than 2 billion Bibles in more than 95 languages to 200 countries across the globe.
The copes of the Gideon’s Bibles placed in hotel rooms and other public places have recorded amazing testimonies of sinners saved and delivered as they encountered the Word of God.

Though the two businessmen appeared insignificant in number and lacked necessary resources to accomplish their dream, God multiplied their little efforts beyond their wildest imagination.
In Judges 7 God appointed Gideon to lead the Israeli army against the Midianites.
But Gideon felt grossly unqualified for the assignment; he came from the poorest family in their town and was the least one in his father’s house, he had no resources and no influence.
He was afraid and hiding in the wine press, when the angel came to him and said “Mighty hero, the Lord is with you”.
Gideon didn’t feel at all like a hero. When he eventually decided to obey God and lead men to fight the Midianites, to be sure of victory, he rounded up 32000 men to go with him.
But God told him that number of men was too much because they would think they won the battle by their own strength.
Gideon had to reduce the men to only 300.
But with God on their side, these little army defeated the mighty Midianites. Overnight Gideon became a mighty hero. Gideon is now listed in Hebrews 11 as one of the heroes of faith.
Truly, God can use the weak to confound the strong.. He can use insignificant vessels
to accomplish the greatest assignments.
Therefore do not be discouraged if you feel unqualified compared to what you are called to accomplish. You don’t need 32000 men to defeat the Midianites of your destiny. Just ensure that God is on your side. You and God are a majority. Despite the oppositions, God is able to go before you to break the gates of brass and cut the bars of iron asunder. He is able to open before you the two-leaved gates and give you the hidden riches of secret places.(Isaiah 45).
If you are feeling intimidated by the magnitude of the odds against you, listen to what Moses told Joshua when he was about to conquer new territories ‘And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.”[Deuteronomy 31:8 ]
Truly, with God on your side you can do the incredible and achieve the impossible.

PRAYER. Father I thank You for working in my life to bring to pass the glorious vision You have put in my heart. By Your grace I shall soon see the manifestation of the glory You have ordained for me in this season in Jesus Name.

AUGUST 23 : TAKING OUR PORTION OF HEALTH AND WEALTH!

3 John 1:2 ‘Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.’.

DAILY READING – Colossians 1:24-2:19; Ezekiel 27-28; Isaiah 54

As a young man, John G. Lake witnessed a strange train of sickness, that followed his family. His parents buried eight out of their sixteen children and their home was never without the shadow of sickness.
One day as he watched his sister also about to die, John G lake was finally fed up with this evil attack.
Some years earlier, he had come in contact with the power of God through the ministry of the great preacher Alexander Dowie. Knowing that Jesus still heals, he was now ready to wage violent spiritual battle for the life of his sister.
As he telegraphed Dowie with a desperate plea for prayer, John began to wage a furious spiritual attack on the power of death. As he prayed, God’s power came down, and within the hour his sister was completely healed! As the knowledge of God’s healing power came into their home gradually all the other sick members of their family were completely healed.
Another opportunity to display the power of God presented itself on April 28, 1898, when his wife of five years, Jennie lay dying.
With God’s Word revealed to him from Acts 10:38, John G. Lake wedged serious spiritual warfare that brought Jeanie back from death’s door.
Jeanie’s healing became national news, bringing many to visit their home to see God’s miracle and to receive healing for themselves. Through it, Lake was brought to an amazing ministry of healing that led to the miraculous healing of more than 100,000 people.

When faced with the death of his family members, John G. Lake was forced to become spiritually violent. He pushed deeper to find answers. He began to fast, pray and search the scriptures at a greater dimension. And he not only found answers, the power of God also launched him into a world acclaimed healing ministry.
The truth is that certain situations may not budge until you resort to being violent in the spirit.
Spiritual battles are real and we have to be spiritually violent to take what belongs to us by force. Whatever lingering challenge that has been facing you, today you need to rise up and be violent against it. It is when you resist the devil that he will flee from you.
It is God’s will that we prosper and be in health; even as our soul prospers. [3 John 1:2].
Our level of health and wealth will be determined by the prosperity of our soul through knowledge of God’s Word.
Everyone’s portion is delivered to them according to their faith. Therefore, let us decide today to go for a greater dimension of faith through in-depth study of the Word of God.
Jesus shed His Blood to grant us access to our portion of spiritual inheritance. Today we release the weapon of His Blood against everything trying to still keep us in poverty, penury and infirmity. By the power in the Blood of Jesus, everything resisting our open doors to divine health and supernatural wealth is defeated. Surely, it is our time to arise to glorious new levels in every area of our lives in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Father please help me to arise in faith and take what belongs to me by covenant. No more shall I be a victim, rather I will always be the victor and overcomer in every battle of life in Jesus Name.

AUGUST 22; POWER TO CHANGE THINGS

Acts 20:32 ‘And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.’

DAILY READING; Colossians 1:1-23; Ezekiel 25-26; Isaiah 53

When the ship, HMS Bounty, left England in 1787, to Tahiti , its crew men nursed a criminal plan.
While on the high sea, the ship”s crew revolted against their captain and took over the ship. They then put the captain and his supporters into a smaller boat and sent them sailing across the ocean, back to England,.
The mutineers then took the ship to Tahiti.
However, fearing arrest by the British Navy, they left Tahiti and sailed across the ocean to the small uninhabited island of Pitcairn where they settled and began a new life.. However, the men began to drink heavily and soon became embroiled in a lot of fighting. They began killing each other.
Eventually, only two men, John Adams and Ned Young were left alive, among 9 women and about 23 children on the island.
They were at a loss on how to lead the small community of women and children. One day, John found a Bible and they began to read it.
The more the two men studied the Bible the more a strange and marvelous change began to come over them until their lives were completely transformed. As a result, Adams and Young embraced Christianity and taught the children and women from the Bible.
Ned Young eventually died of an asthmatic infection in 1800, but Adams continued his work of educating the women and children and implementing God’s Word as the way of life on the island, until eventually everyone became a Christian.
In 1825, the British Navy did eventually find John Adams, but from the transformation they saw, he was formally granted amnesty. He continued to serve as patriarch of the Pitcairn community until his death in 1829.

The amazing thing about this story is that with no human guide, only through contact with God’s Word, two former drunkards and murderers experienced amazing life transformations.
Certainly, no heart is too tough and no soul is too dark for God’s Word to penetrate. Indeed, the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12.)
Whenever God’s Word is released in faith, miraculous changes take place. During His ministry on earth, Jesus spoke words that raised the dead, healed the sick, stopped the storm, and transformed situations and lives.
God’s Word contains life-quickening genes that can infuse spirit and life into any dead condition.

In John 6:63 Jesus says ‘The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.’

The more you feed on the Word, the more life and strength is infused into you for extraordinary accomplishments.
A lifestyle of diligent study of the Word will build you up and deliver to you, your own inheritance in Christ. [Acts 20:32].
It is our year to see greater open doors. If you are yet to see the tangible manifestation of this prophecy, then it is time to apply the Word in faith. As you speak to stagnation, financial challenges, sickness, family crisis etc, you will begin to see miraculous changes. The power in God’s Word will move to terminate negative situations and establish amazing transformations in your life.

PRAYER; Lord, please help me to speak boldly in faith against the things fighting my destiny. I thank You Lord for causing me to experience amazing transformations through the power of Your Word in Jesus Name.

AUGUST 21; HELP FROM ABOVE!

Psalm 60:11-12 ‘Give us help from trouble: For vain is the help of man. Through God we shall do valiantly: For he it is that shall tread down our enemies.’

DAILY READING; Philippians 4; Ezekiel 24; Isaiah 52

Hannah Milhous Nixon, was the mother of former American President, Richard Nixon. She was a devout Christian who deeply influenced her son’s life. While growing up, Nixon used to listen to his mother read stories from the Bible to him. Then one afternoon, she said, ‘Richard, someday you’re going to be in a position where you can help save the Jewish people. And when that day comes, you must do everything in your power.’”
She had spoken prophetically, because that day did come!
On October 6, 1973 Egypt and Syria launched a massive invasion across Israel’s borders. They had a massive advantage of superior military equipment that enabled them make extensive incursions into Israeli territory.
With Israel on the verge of defeat and collapse, the Israeli Prime Minister, Golda Meir made desperate appeal for military assistance to many European nations. But no nation wanted to help Israel because already Arab nations had threatened to use oil as a weapon against any country that aided Israel.
One night, American President, Richard Nixon received a phone call from Golda Meir, pleading for assistance. As President Nixon listened to Golda Meir, he could again hear his mother’s voice telling him to help Israel in their day of need.
Based on this, President Nixon ordered the US military to deliver a massive amount of materials and fighter aircraft to Israel. The U.S. support helped Israel to effectively overcome the invaders and eventually triumph in the war.

In Isaiah 37, king
Hezekiah desperately needed help because the king of Assyria with a stronger army was about to attack Jerusalem. Hezekiah sent messengers, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet to pray to God to deliver their nation.
When the men brought the message, Isaiah responded immediately with the answer from God telling Hezekiah, not to be afraid. He assured him that the king of Assyrian was going to abandon the attack, because he would soon hear a certain rumor that would cause him to flee back to his own country, where he would be killed [Isaiah 37:6-7].
While King Hezekiah had been scared and fretting, he did not know that God had the situation in perfect control. He had already worked out the answer and solution before King Hezekiah made the prayer.

Isaiah 65:24 (AMP) says “It shall also come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.”

We serve the Omniscient (All-Knowing) God, the Omnipotent (All-Powerful) God, who is never taken by surprise. He is more than able to handle whatever comes our way.
In the face of formidable battles, lift your eyes up to God; your help is in the Name of the Lord who made Heaven and earth.
Don’t waste time running around men and thinking they will help you, true help comes only from above. Just as European nations failed Golda Meir, men can disappoint you when you most need them. And just as it took God’s intervention to bring the U.S to Israel’s aid, it takes God to move men to genuinely assist you.
Psalm 60:11 says ‘Give us help from trouble; for vain is the help of man’.

The hearts of men are in the hand of the Lord and He turns it wherever He wishes. When you please God, He can cause even your enemies to be at peace with you. God can raise help for you where you least expect it. He can turn what looks like a valley of defeat into a valley of victory. What looks like a pit of stagnation can become a place of promotion. And a trial of sickness can become a testimony of healing and restoration.
Just stay in faith and keep giving God the glory and watch Him scatter every gang-up against you and give you resounding victory.

PRAYER; Lord, I thank You for being in perfect control of my life and destiny. Please help me to always keep my eyes upon You, for I know You will cause me to triumph always in Jesus Name. .

AUGUST 20; OUR STRONG FOUNDATION!

Psalms 11:3 ‘If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

DAILY READING; 1 Peter 4; Jeremiah 37-38; Psalm 137

After the Japanese earthquake in 1995, which killed about 6,000 people and injured 26,000, Japan put enormous resources into new research on protecting structures against earthquakes and tsunamis.
Japan has spent billions of dollars developing the most advanced technology, that are now being massively used in most of its constructions.
Some of these are buildings that sit on a foundation fitted with shock-absorbing devices that greatly prevent collapse. Hidden inside the skeletons of high-rise towers are extra steel bracing, giant rubber pads and embedded hydraulic shock absorbers which make modern Japanese buildings among the sturdiest in the world. Also deep foundations and massive shock absorbers prevent energy produced by an earthquake from tearing skyscrapers apart.
Today, Japan is the best-prepared country in the world for the twin disasters of earthquake and tsunami. Other countries vulnerable to earthquakes such as Chile, China, Italy, Mexico, Peru, and Turkey are also adopting Japan’s advanced technology to safeguard their buildings.

It is wisdom to ensure our lives are solidly built to withstand spiritual storms and tsunamis.
Just like the natural disasters that suddenly erupt in earth’s regions without warning, there are waves of troubles and temptation that often come to try men.
Those who survive and prevail are those have built their lives upon Christ the solid Rock.
As long as you have a good spiritual foundation, you can survive whatever comes to shake you. No matter the fierceness of any storm, with a strong foundation of faith, you will stand and not fall.

In the parable of Jesus in Matthew 7:24-25 , the stream, rain and wind represent the storms of life. These troubles and challenges can sometimes strike unexpectedly. At such times, a man will stand or fall based on the strength of his faith, which is a function of his depth in God’s Word.
The truth is that you are either going to pay the price to build a strong spiritual foundation or you pay the price of crumbling in the face of the storm. People who don’t have time for God, eventually end up having time for troubles. We shouldn’t be so busy pursuing the things of this world, at the risk of losing our spiritual battles.
We shouldn’t be running after high ambitions, while our spiritual foundation remains shallow. No matter, how high a man rises in life, he can easily fall, if he lacks a strong spiritual foundation.

Psalms 11:3 says ‘And if the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?

If the foundation is destroyed, the house will eventually crumble. But when we accept the responsibility of daily strengthening our spiritual foundation, then we will remain unshakable and indefatigable.
In times of sudden challenges, rather than fall, we will keep rising higher, and rather than perish, we will keep flourishing. In every situation, we will always stand strong in faith and keep giving all the glory to our God.

PRAYER; Lord Please help me to build up my faith through spending quality time in Your Word. With a strong foundation of Your Word, I know that I will always remain unshakeable no matter what comes my way in Jesus Name. . .

AUGUST 18; FAITH TO ACHIEVE THE IMPOSSIBLE!

Philippians 4:13 ‘I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.’

DAILY READING: Philippians 2:1-11; Ezekiel 20; Isaiah 49

The story of Jackie Joyner-Kersee is that of incredible faith, overcoming obstacles and total dependence on God. She is a multitalented athlete who is the first American ever to win a gold medal in the long jump and the first woman in history to earn more than 7,000 points in the seven-event heptathlon. Her achievements are so astounding that she was voted the Greatest Female Athlete of the 20th Century by Sports Illustrated for Women.
However, it is interesting to note that when she first started out in sports, her performance was very poor and she used to finish last in a race.
She was greatly encouraged by her mother to trust in God and keep aiming for the best. And so instead of giving up due to her poor performances she decided to improve on herself and began to practice every day.
But as she began getting better at her sports, in 1983 she received devastating setback when she began having asthmatic attacks.
Her health became so bad that some days it looked like she wouldn’t be able to make it through a race, yet she never allowed that to overcome her. Her faith in God remained strong.
Five years later, at the 1988 Olympics, despite the asthma, Joyner-Kersee won three gold medals. And she would go on to win many more Olympic medals and setting unbroken world records in the process.
Joyner-Kersee, who is an ardent Christian and whose husband is a pastor, believes that the secret of her success has been faith in God. Speaking at Washington University in June 22 2018, Joyner-Kersee said that “what I stand for is not the gold medals. Those are materialistic. There is a reason I’m blessed. I put God first.”

Certainly, through Christ, that strengthens us, we can do all things.
Faith in God is our greatest guarantee of victory because it is what will always overcome the world and its challenges.
As far as destiny is concerned, it is to everyone according to his faith. Through faith we are able to see the invisible, dare the impossible, and do the incredible.
When you are faced with any intimidating situation always remember that as a child of God, you have what it takes to overcome because of the Greater One in you.
Therefore don’t be intimidated by the size of any obstacle that may face you. In fact, the bigger the test, the sweeter your testimony.
You don’t have to run helter skelter looking for solutions, faith is available through God’s Word to help you overcome.
If perhaps you are facing an overwhelming situation in your health, finances, or relationships, learn to acquire the faith to overcome by settling down to in-depth study of the Word.
When your faith is strong, though the storm, rain and winds may come, you will survive them all and still stand strong.
Therefore refuse to magnify negative circumstances, rather magnify God because He has destined you to triumph always.
You may not see it right now, but trust that God is working behind the scenes, opening doors for you and turning around things for your good. And when it is all said and done, your life will indeed be a manifestation of His wonder-working power!

PRAYER: Lord, Please help me to pay the price of spending quality time in Your Word so that my faith can be strengthened to see You at work in my situation. I Thank You Lord for always exceeding my expectations and manifesting Your power in my life in Jesus Name.

AUGUST 17; CHOOSE LIFE AND BLESSINGS!

Deuteronomy 30:19-20 ‘..I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

DAILY READING; Philippians 1:12-30; Ezekiel 19; Isaiah 48

Jentezen Franklin is an international minister of the Gospel and the Senior Pastor of Free Chapel, a multi-campus church based in Gainesville, Georgia.
Jentezen‘s father was a pastor and he was raised in a Christian home. But during his teenage years, Jentezen became rebellious. Through peer pressure, he began to stray and move with the wrong crowd.
However, Jentezen’s parents had prayed for him so much that he couldn’t even enjoy sin. When he joined his friends to experiment with drugs, he said that even in his intoxicated state he would still be haunted by the words of the Bible. When they got high on drugs, while his friends would be hallucinating about interesting things, Jentezen would be seeing visions of Moses and Elijah.
His parents’ relentless prayers ensured that God’s hand remained on him and he couldn’t escape the call upon his life. Anytime he tried to do anything bad, he would often get caught and his deeds would be exposed.
Finally when Jentezen was 16 years, he quit trying to run from God and fully committed his life to Jesus. As he began to serve God, doors of opportunity began to open up for him.
In fulfilment of the call upon his life, he later went into the ministry. Today, Jentezen Franklin is a successful pastor whose televised broadcast, Kingdom Connection, reaches about 2.3 billion viewers around the world with the Good News of the Gospel

As believers we are not ‘free’ to do whatever we want. There is a divine stamp upon our lives that
makes it difficult to ever enjoy life outside of God.
We are designed to only grow and progress through Christ. Jesus said in John 16:4 that just as a branch cannot bear fruit by itself; except it remains in the vine, neither can we bear fruit unless we remain in Him.
Things will work only when we’re pursuing the dreams God has called us to achieve, the goals He has equipped us to reach and the lives He has entrusted us to touch.
Frustrations, failures, setbacks will only be the results when a Christian attempts to operate outside of God’s will.
Proverbs 13:15 says that the way of transgressors is hard. Those who stray outside of God’s will will find that the road only keeps getting rougher and tougher,. But the path of the just is as a shining light that shines brighter and brighter. Though you may begin small, your later end will greatly increase.
As you follow God’s divine vision, you will be followed by His divine provision. Job 36:11 says ‘If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.’
It is therefore our choice to abide in Christ and abide in His blessings or go the way of the world and reap the consequences.
Deuteronomy 30:19-20 says that God has set before us the choice of life and death, blessings and curses. Let us therefore choose His life and blessings by making the decision to live solely for Him. Our choice to serve God will affect even our generations unborn. God’s hand will extend to their lives and keep them from the paths of destruction. Surely, living for God, is the best investment we can ever make on earth.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the grace to keep my focus on following You and not be derailed by the distractions around me. Please help me to make Your plan and purpose always top priority in my life in Jesus Name.

AUGUST 16; POWER TO OVERCOME THE WORLD!

John 16:33 “…in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

DAILY READING; Philippians 1:1-11; Ezekiel 18; Isaiah 47

Jonathan Bernor is a world champion power lifter who has been twice ranked number one in the world in his weight class. He is regarded as one of the strongest men in the world.
Jonathan’s interest in weight lifting began while he was still in his teens. But though his aim was to get to the very top of the sport, at that time he found himself helpless against a criminal lifestyle that made his life miserable.
Jonathan had grown up a troubled kid. At an early age, his parents had gotten divorced and this left a gaping hole in his heart. As he grew older, he turned to the streets and joined bad friends who broke into houses and sold drugs.
Jonathan dropped out of high school in his senior year, and became a top drug dealer. During this time, Jonathan’s mother became a Christian but nothing she said or did could change Jonathan.
His criminal lifestyle continued until he faced a life-threatening illness when he was diagnosed with pancreatitis.
Now facing death, Jonathan prayed to God to save him and surrendered his life to Christ. After he was released from the hospital and sent home to die, few days later Jonathan was stunned to realize that God had miraculously healed him. All the pain had gone and his health was restored. Amazed by God’s love, Jonathan totally dedicated his life to live for Christ and now uses his platform to share his Christian faith with people around the world.

Outer strength can be deceptive; a man can seem strong outwardly and yet be broken inside.
The truth is that no one can overcome the struggles of life by their own strength. By strength shall no man prevail. It is only in Christ that we can find true peace and be delivered from the trials, temptations and tribulations in the world.
In John 16:33, Jesus said, “…in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
It is only through Christ that we can overcome the world. When we understand this, we will continually hide ourselves in Him.
Our battles in the world are not with flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness in high places. Therefore, we cannot hope to win by physical strength, smartness or other endowments. Often-times people work hard and do everything to rise and yet find themselves on the floor, this is because there is a spiritual ‘strong man’ that must be overcome before real progress can be made.
Luke 11:21-23 says ‘When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.’
In view of the context of this verse, the strong man is the devil, but the stronger Man is the Lord Jesus Himself, who takes away the enemy’s defense and gives to us the spoils and riches of the world.
Jesus is the “stronger man” who won the victory at Calvary and ruined satan’s kingdom. And He has delegated power to us, to rule and reign in the world by His Name.
Therefore whatever may be resisting our destiny today, can be overcome as we engage the power in the Blood of Jesus in spiritual warfare. Through the mystery of the Blood, we have the victory over afflictions, failure, sickness, poverty etc.
Today, let us begin to bless and praise the Lord for giving us the victory over every enemy of our destiny. Certainly, the glory God has ordained for us can no longer be hidden. It is our time to arise and shine for our light has come!

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the transformational power available to me through the Blood of Jesus. I know indeed that by the power in the Blood, I am delivered from every hold of darkness and set free to enjoy the blessings of Your grace in Jesus Name.

AUGUST 15; OBEDIENCE LEADS TO OPEN DOORS!

Isaiah 1:19-20 ‘If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it’

DAILY READING; Ephesians 6; Ezekiel 17; Isaiah 46

The story of the Exodus has continued to be a mystery to scientific researchers who have often argued over certain aspects of the event such as the parting of the sea.
But the Biblical facts remain true that around 1300 B.C, two million Jewish slaves departed from Egypt and were miraculously sustained by God for 40 years in the wilderness. Their exodus was one of the largest migrations in the history of the world.
After 430 years of slavery in Egypt where the Israelites were forced to build the store-cities of Pithom and Ramses, God miraculously brought them out to take them to the promised land of Canaan.
As their journey started, the Israelites could have gone through a shorter route which would have taken them about 150 miles and two weeks to get to Canaan.
But because it led through the chief towns of the hostile Philistines, the Bible said the people would probably have repented when they saw war, and returned to Egypt, so God led them through a longer route.
This longer route was a trip of about four months. But surprisingly it would take them forty years to reach their destination.
Why so? Because of the people’s disobedience.
When they reached Kadesh-Barnea, and were very close to entering Canaan, the spies sent to survey the land brought back fearful reports that made all the people to refuse to go in and take the land, except Joshua and Caleb.
Due to this, they were not allowed to enter Canaan until everyone over age 20, who came out of Egypt, except Joshua and Caleb, died in the desert. Those who died were probably more than a million, their gradual demise has been called, “The longest funeral march in history.”
Concerning the experience of the Israelites, Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 10:5-12 “Now these things happened as examples to keep us from setting our hearts on evil things like they did.”

Indeed the story of Israel’s disobedience is a big lesson for every believer to always do what God says, nothing more and nothing less.
In our Christian journey, God has a good plan to take us to a promised land overflowing with blessings, divine health, peace and prosperity. But why many people never get to this glorious destination is because of disobedience.
Disobedience is a silent blessing stealer; and it is the core reason why believers sometimes do not experience the open doors and new levels destined for them.
If we refuse to walk in line with the will of God and eventually fail to correct ourselves, we will have to reap the consequences of defeats and failures.
When God is taking you to your Canaan, to the land He has promised you, total obedience to His instructions becomes crucial. Though we may not initially see the whole picture, we must refuse to fear but rather keep going forward, taking steps of faith.
No matter the price of obedience, it is ultimately much cheaper than the high cost of disobedience.
Obedience is always the story behind the glory. All the giants of faith who succeeded in life, were ordinary men, made extraordinary by obedience to God. Some of the instructions God gave Abraham appeared outrageous but he kept obeying God and in the end, he became a trans-generational celebrity.
Likewise, as we make the choice today to become willing and obedient, surely we shall eat the good of the land.

PRAYER; Lord, Please enable me to always pay the price of seeking Your face, so as to walk in Your plans. Today I receive the grace for complete obedience to Your Word, so that I can be prosperous and have good success in Jesus Name.
