Ephesians 6:16 ‘Above all, taking the shield of faith where with ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.’

DAILY READING; Colossians 3:18-4:18; Ezekiel 31-32; Isaiah 56

From 1965 until he was overthrown and killed in a revolution in 1989, Nicolae Ceausescu ran a brutal communist regime in Romania. Under him, the Bible became forbidden in all of Romania. No one was allowed to read it. However when a young female attorney, named Virginia Prodan dared to read the Bible, she encountered deep truths that made her surrender her life to Christ. Through her work as an attorney, she began to defend Christians against persecutions of Ceausescu’s brutal regime. Her fearless stand as a Christian, made her to become a target of Nicolae Ceausescu who sent the secret police after her. She was kidnapped, beaten, tortured, placed under house arrest, and was almost executed under the orders of the president himself.
One day, while working late at night, an assassin entered her office and pulled out his gun to shoot. Despite the initial shock, Virginia began silent, fervent prayers, recalling God’s promises. In that moment she felt the Holy Spirit prompting her to share the Gospel with the man. As she began preaching to him, to her utmost surprise he listened and began weeping. That night he gave his life to Christ. This man would give up his evil ways, later studied theology and became a pastor in Bucharest following the collapse of Nicolae Ceausescu’s regime.
A great testament of Virginia Prodan’s faith in God is how she not only managed to elude her enemies, but also helped to expose the appalling secrets that would ultimately lead to the demise of Ceausescu’s evil empire. Today, Virginia Prodan is an International Human Rights Attorney and author of the book, ‘saving my assassin’.

Truly, faith makes the difference between victory and defeat.
No matter how the enemy tries to corner you, as long as your faith remains intact you cannot be defeated.
Faith is crucial if we must live a victorious life.
A time came when Jesus told Simon Peter that the devil was plotting against him, but He had prayed that Peter’s faith would not fail.
Luke 22:31-32 says ‘And the Lord said, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you that he may sift you as wheat: but I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not.’

Notice that Jesus did not pray for the temptation not to come, because He knew it was normal to be tempted, but His prayer was that Peter’s faith would not fail.
As long as your faith does not fail, you will remain indefatigable. People may come against you, but through faith, what they meant for evil will turn around for your good. A door may close against you but through faith, greater doors will open in its place.
Faith is the victory that overcomes the world. Faith is both our weapon of resistance and defense, against the enemy.
1 Peter 5: 9 says we should resist the enemy steadfastly through faith, and Ephesians 6:16 says we should take the shield of faith, where with we shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Let us therefore constantly equip ourselves with faith through in-depth study of God’s Word.
As long as you are armed with faith, in times of confrontation, you will stand tall and never fall.

PRAYER: Father please grant me the grace to diligently seek Your Word, so that I can acquire the triumphant faith I need to overcome all obstacles on my way. Thank You Lord, for giving me constant victory in Jesus Name.
