Deion “Prime Time” Sanders is a legendary Hall of Fame football star and an American baseball hero.
Deion Sanders’ life is a dramatic display of divine grace. Born in Fort Myers, Florida, Deion was just two years old when his parents divorced. He was raised by his mother Connie, a cleaning woman who worked multiple jobs to keep food on the table. Deion grew up in one of the roughest neighborhoods in the state—“The Bottom,” as locals called it. The streets were filled with crime, violence, and the ever-available escape route of drugs and fast money.
Deion saw it all. He watched friends with raw athletic talent—boys who could run just as fast as he could—throw their lives away chasing temporary thrills. Many ended up in jail or dead. But Deion clung to a dream bigger than the streets. He took refuge in sports, joining youth leagues and pouring himself into football, baseball, and track. His relentless determination earned him the nickname “Prime Time” in high school after a jaw-dropping performance on the basketball court.
Deion would go on to become the only athlete in history to play in both a Super Bowl and a World Series. But even with fame and fortune, he later admitted that money couldn’t fill the emptiness in his soul. After hitting rock bottom emotionally, Deion encountered Jesus Christ—and everything changed.
Today, he’s a bold witness for Christ, a celebrated coach and mentor. Deion constantly credits God for his success and amazing change of story from the ghetto to glory.

God’s grace raises the poor from the dust and lifts them to sit with princes (1 Samuel 2:8).
As long as you stay focused on your divine goal , your gift will make room for you and bring you before kings. Though your beginning may seem small, your latter end shall be great and glorious.
When professional runners are on the racetrack, they have their minds focused on one thing: the finish line.
In a fast-paced, demanding world, full of lures and temptations, we must keep focused on where God is taking us.
As believers, we cannot afford to deviate from God’s call. It can be tempting to seek shortcuts and compromises, but it can all end in pain and disappointment.
The truth is that if you play today, you will pay tomorrow. While the wide and broad way may be seductive, it can lead to dead ends and destruction.
The strait and narrow way may seem hard initially, but it is the road that leads to life and blessings.
No matter how hard the journey, don’t sell out, don’t give up, keep focused on your goal.
Surely, God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
Today, let us receive the grace to diligently run after God with all our heart, looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.
There are many temptations and pitfalls that can capture a person’s interest and derail their destiny. This is why it’s important to keep your eyes on Jesus and refuse to cut corners or do what other people are doing. God has a special purpose for your life; therefore, you cannot afford to live like everyone else.
As we walk in obedience to God’s Word, it is only a matter of time before we begin to experience the unfolding of God’s wonderful plans and manifestations of His glory in our lives.

PRAYER:
Lord, I thank You for the grace to keep my focus on the race before me, and not be derailed by the distractions around me. Please help me to make Your plan and purpose always top priority in my life, in Jesus’ Name.
