Deuteronomy 2:24–25 (MSG)
“On your feet now. Get started. Cross the Brook Arnon. Look: Here’s Sihon the Amorite king of Heshbon and his land. I’m handing it over to you—it’s all yours. Go ahead, take it. Go to war with him.”

From childhood, Emmitt Smith dreamed of playing professional football, yet critics constantly told him he was not good enough. They said he lacked the speed, size, and strength required to succeed. Still, Emmitt refused to surrender his vision. He anchored his faith in God and remained committed to excellence, trusting that God had a divine purpose for his life.
His persistence eventually paid off when he earned a scholarship to the University of Florida. There, he excelled against all expectations. When challenges followed him as he joined the NFL. Instead of retreating, Emmitt doubled down on his devotion. He trained relentlessly, staying disciplined, and honoring God openly. His commitment resulted in his leading the Dallas Cowboys to three Super Bowl victories. Emmit’s skill made him outstanding and he eventually become the NFL’s all-time leading rusher.
When he retired from football in 2005, Emmitt carried the same devotion into business. Once again, God prospered the work of his hands. At his Hall of Fame induction in 2010, his first words were not about trophies or records, but gratitude to Jesus Christ for His guidance and blessings..

We need divine strength, dedication and determination to excel this year..God has great territories prepared for us new levels of influence, impact, favor, and glory. But divine inheritance does not automatically manifest; we must arise and take it.
In Deuteronomy 2, God told Israel that the land was already theirs, yet they still had to rise, move forward, and contend. Promise did not eliminate responsibility.
Before possession comes devotion. Before victory comes obedience. Before glory comes uncommon commitment. Many believers admire promises but resist the price. Yet God’s pattern has never changed: those who press deeper are the ones who rise higher.
This is not a year for spiritual complacency. However to arise and take possession, we must give ourselves fully to God—through prayer, obedience, steadfast faith, and resilience. Devotion is what transforms prophecy into experience.
Like Israel, some of us have “compassed the mountain long enough.” The instruction now is to move forward. As we devote ourselves afresh to God—pressing in prayer, aligning with His Word, and refusing distraction, certainly we will possess the uncommon blessings Heaven has assigned to us this year..

PRAYER
Father, grant me the grace for uncommon devotion this year. Strengthen me to rise, contend, and possess all You have prepared for me. I declare that I will not retreat, but press forward into Your promises, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
