JANUARY 9; WHAT GOD SAYS WILL STAND..

Isaiah 14:24 ‘The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:’

DAILY READING –Acts 15:22-41; Judges 1; Job 33

About 130 million books have been written since the dawn of recorded history. However, of those books, one stands alone because of its accurate prophecies and predictions of the future. That book is the Bible.
It is believed that there are over 1,800 prophecies in the Bible. Many of these have found accurate fulfillment. One of these remarkable prophecies was made by Prophet Isaiah about events involving the destruction and restoration of Israel.
About 2700 years before it came to pass, prophet Isaiah prophesied about the exile and restoration of Israel.
When Isaiah made the prophecies there was nothing in Israel’s history at the time to suggest the possibility of such events. In fact everything seemed otherwise.
However, in AD 70 Jerusalem and the temple was destroyed and the Jews were carried into exile. And for almost 2000 years afterwards the Jews were scattered all over the world among the nations. But after so many years in exile God began to re-gather His people again. And in 1948, the modern nation of Israel came into existence. Despite all the odds against it, the nation of Israel has continued to experience amazing restoration and make worldwide impact.
Today, Isaiah’s prophecies have indeed found fulfillment as Israel continues rise as one of the leading nations in technology and innovation today.

Isaiah 14:24 says ‘The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:’

Surely whatever God says, will always come to pass. As long as we have faith, we will see the manifestation of God’s promises made to us.
For thousands of years the Jews believed in the restoration of Israel. Despite the odds they faced, they never stopped believing. Their faith in the prophecy of a last-day restoration was based on the faithfulness of God’s Character. They were certain that no matter how long it took, God could be trusted to carry out His promises. And eventually the prophecy did come to pass.

A prophecy you don’t believe will not find expression in your life because every prophecy delivers primarily by faith.

Luke 1:45 says ‘And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.’

If you don’t believe, there won’t be a performance. If you don’t believe it, you will not receive. Therefore to see the prophesied wonder of this year we must work on our faith.
Every genuine prophecy leaves you with a responsibility. It is only when you fulfill the conditions that you will see the manifestations. Therefore to be correctly positioned to take delivery of this year’s prophetic agenda of wonder, we must fulfill the covenant obligations of building up our faith.
We must accept the personal responsibility of diligent study of God’s Word, prayers, fasting, fellowship with the Spirit and other spiritual exercises.
Indeed it is God’s plan to turn us into a wonder. As we believe His promises, certainly we shall see the speedy manifestations.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to begin to build up my faith through diligent study of Your Word. I thank You Lord for the grace to wait for Your promises. Certainly, I know You are able to do what You have promised in my life in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 8; GOD OF AWESOME WONDER!

Habakkuk 1:5 “Look at the nations and watch—and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told [NIV].

DAILY READING; • Acts 15:1-21; Joshua 23-24; Job 32

Scientists still don’t understand how the earth, weighing 13 septillion pounds, can “float” through space. They can’t fathom what upholds it or keeps it in motion as it follows its precisely-kept schedules.
From sunrise of one day to sunrise of the next, the earth, makes a complete rotation on its axis, carrying us with it on a 25,000 mile trip at more than 1,000 Mph. Furthermore, the earth also travels in its orbit around the sun more than one and a half million miles, at a speed of 66,000 Mph.
Yet even more wonderful is the fact that our entire galaxy of several billion stars is moving through space at 43,000 Mph. Adding these figures together, we discover that every moment we are racing through space at a speed of more than 100,000 Mph! What is amazing is that while in the world, we don’t even feel any motion that makes us aware of all this terrific speed.
Our solar system is in a state of constant movement. The sun, which is 865 thousand miles in diameter, spins like a top. The sun, along with its planet-family, is traveling in a gigantic orbit within the Milky Way galaxy at a speed of some 450,000 miles per hour. With all these motion and speed of different planetary bodies, what is amazing is that there is perfect harmony in space and no collisions.
This is indeed one of the grand wonders of God in creation. He alone could create, put in motion, and keep all in perfect order.

Psalm 19:1 says ‘The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handywork.’

Indeed we serve the God of wonders. All of creation declares His glory. Severally, scientists are left speechless and brought to their wits’ end in trying to understand or explain the wisdom, depth and vastness of creation.
Certainly, the ways of God are past searching out. Looking at the majesty of creation, we can only stand in awe of God. We can only be full of wonder and magnify His Holy Name.
What a might God we serve! He is the Lord of Lords! The Ancient of Days! The unchangeable Lord! The Rock of Ages! The Bright and Morning Star! The Alpha and Omega! The Almighty God! The everlasting Father!
Indeed there is no one like Him! Only He can perform such wonders without number!
Certainly the God who accomplishes these great wonders in creation is also able to perform wonders in our own lives.
This is why you must not underestimate the amazing things God wants to do in your life this year. If He can hang the earth on nothing and fling the stars into space, is there anything too hard for Him to do in your life?

In Habakkuk 1:5 God says “Look at the nations and watch—and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told [NIV].

Indeed God is set to do amazing and unprecedented things in our lives this year, if only we can believe. Therefore in your life, expect new possibilities, unusual miracles, new horizons, and new roads of opportunity.
However it is only what you can conceive that you can achieve, only what you believe that you can receive and only what you behold that you can become.
Therefore let us invest in the diligent study of the Word so that our eyes will be opened to behold the wondrous things that God has in store for us.
Let us also continually bless the Lord at all times for His awesome and wonderful plans for us. As we praise Him continually, surely He will exceed our expectations and turn us into living wonders this year.

PRAYERL Lord I thank You for indeed You are the God of wonders. I bless You for the great and marvelous things You are set to do in my life, certainly by Your grace I am emerging as a wonder to my world in Jesus Name,

JANUARY 7: BORN TO BE A WONDER..

Isaiah 8:18 ‘Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.’

DAILY READING – Acts 14; Joshua 22; Job 31

Frederick Douglass is regarded as the father of the civil rights movement in America. He was a famous African-American social reformer, celebrated author and presidential adviser.
However what is amazing is that he was born as a black slave boy with seemingly no future. He was separated from his mother at a very young age and sent to work for a slave master. When he was 12 years, his master’s wife secretly started teaching him to read and write. At this time it was illegal to educate black slaves and so eventually the teachings stopped. But Douglass continued educating himself by observing the writings of the white children in the neighborhood.
In the Church for black people, Douglass began using the Bible to teach the other slaves what he was learning.. After this was discovered, Douglass was often severely punished by the white slave masters. He rebelled and made numerous attempts to escape. On September 3, 1838, he finally escaped successfully by boarding a train and reached New York. There he became a licensed preacher serving in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. Soon, he joined the abolitionist movement to stop slavery. He travelled to different countries and delivered lectures in churches and chapels that drew thousands of people.
He wrote his autobiography so eloquently that skeptics doubted it was the work of a Black man. From a slave boy, Frederick Douglas would rise to become one of the most famous intellectuals of his time who served as adviser to five United States presidents.

Indeed there can be no limitation to the man who solidly makes up his mind to rise by God’s help. Education, poverty, race or family background can never be a hindrance. Surely, when God is for you, nothing can be against you.
By covenant every child of God is born to be a wonder to the world.

Isaiah 8:18 says ‘Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.’

You are born for signs and wonders.
It doesn’t matter the obstacles against you, because of God’s divine genes in you, surely you will always overcome. .
Therefore do not limit yourself. Our architect and Master builder is God. He has designed the blueprint of our lives to manifest His glory on the earth.
When a building is under construction, to the untrained eye, initially the building can look really messed up. But the architect who drew the plans, knows that emerging from the mess is a beautiful structure.
Likewise, God is at work in your life. You are a divine project. Though there may be difficulties and challenges, as you remain persistent in pursuing God’s plan, it is only a matter of time before the glory within you emerges.
Therefore, never allow challenges to erode your passion. Never allow people or circumstances to deter you. Trust God to bring to manifestation the prophetic word spoken over you this year. You shall indeed emerge as a wonder.
No matter how disheveled things may look right now, believe that the Faithful One who has called you, will also do it.
Focus on following God’s plan through prayers and consistent study of the Word. Even if the road sometimes seem hard, keep pressing forward and never give up. Surely there is an end and your expectations shall not be cut short. By God’s grace, you shall surely become a sign and a wonder to everyone this year in Jesus Name..

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the grace and strength to keep pressing forward in every situation. Certainly by Your grace I shall indeed soon see a manifestation of Your great plans for my life this year in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 6; DIVINE ESCAPE BY THE BLOOD..

Hebrews 2:14-15 “…that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage..”

DAILY READING; Acts 13:26-52; Joshua 20-21; Job 30

Exactly seven years ago today, Pastor Rotimi Obajimi who served as a resident pastor in a village in Borno was kidnapped. On January 6th, 2014, he was travelling to Maiduguri when he was captured by members of Boko Haram.
After his abduction he was taken to Sambisa Forest where he was tied down for months before he was later moved to an unknown destination and thereafter brought back to Sambisa forest. After, 10 months in captivity, it became doubtful that his captors would let him go free.
As prayers continued to be offered for his release, God organized a divine rescue. On Tuesday the 7th of October, 2014 something strange happened that led to the pastor’s freedom.
On that day there was a heavy downpour of rain that resulted in massive flooding in Sambisa forest. The rain and flooding was so severe that it forced the armed terrorists to flee from the camp, abandoning their captives in the forest.
This gave Pastor Obajimi the opportunity to escape from where he was being held captive. He wandered in the forest several days before he could arrive at a village where the Nigerian military later picked him up and took him to safety. His amazing escape became national News and a wonder to many.

Indeed God is still in the business of doing signs and wonders.
In the book of Exodus, God delivered the children of Israel from Egypt through His signs and wonders. Through mighty manifestation of God’s power the Children of Israel were set free from 430 years of captivity.
Today, God is still using signs and wonders to bring deliverance to His people. Through His mighty power, He secures divine rescue from every captivity and bondage.
As the world groans under the siege of the pandemic, the Blood of Jesus is our guarantee of divine escape from the plague.
When the plague of death raged in Egypt through the sign of the Blood, the children of Israel were preserved, and the angel of death passed over them. Likewise today, through the sign of the Blood our divine deliverance is certain.
As believers, we must understand that our case will always be different. Jesus died on the cross to ensure our freedom from every harassment and assault of the enemy. He paid an ultimate price on the cross to separate us from evil. He did not die in vain. All that He suffered on Calvary was to ensure that affliction never arises a second time in our lives. Jesus died for the purpose of setting us eternally free from every bondage

Hebrews 2:14-15 says “..that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage..”

Through His death, Christ has brought us under the covenant of divine exemption. Let us therefore continually ensure we stay under His divine cover by aligning ourselves to God’s Word.
Certainly, this year, by the Blood, we have been sealed and separated from every evil. And as we abide in the center of God’s will, surely no evil shall befall us and no plague can come near our dwelling place in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You that my case is indeed different. I thank You for Your seal of divine protection upon me and my family. Surely through the Blood of Jesus, no evil shall befall us and no plague can come near us in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 5; FAITH TO BECOME A WONDER.

Matthew 19:26 ‘But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.’

DAILY READING; Acts 13:1-25; Joshua 18-19; Job 29

On June 23, 1940, a premature baby girl was born to Blanche and Ed Rudolph. This baby was the 20th of their 22 children. Born at four and a half months, this baby was very frail, and it seemed unlikely she would survive. However, she did begin to grow. But at 4 years old, she became stricken with double pneumonia, scarlet fever and polio and her legs became paralyzed. Though the doctors said she would never walk again, Blanche and Ed Rudolph had deep faith in God and taught their paralyzed daughter Wilma to also believe God for miracles.
Putting her faith to work, at nine years of age, Wilma took off the braces on her legs and took a step. And from that moment she began to make progress until she began to walk. She became a medical wonder to the doctors.
Wilma often read her Bible and sought faith from God’s Word. Then, incredibly she began to nurse the dream that she could become the fastest woman in the world. Although it seemed like an impossibility, Wilma at 13 years began to join school races. Initially she was coming last but eventually she began winning her races. She won so many races that she came to be known as the ‘Tennessee Tornado’. Then at just 16 years, she became part of the U.S. Olympic team.
At the Rome Olympics, Wilma was pitted against the greatest woman runner of the times, a German girl named Yetta Heine. Though nobody had ever beat Yetta Heine, yet Wilma beat her in three races.
Wilma Rudolph won three gold medals in the 1960 Rome Olympics and became known as the fastest woman on earth. What amazed the world was that only few years earlier, Wilma had been paralyzed and couldn’t even walk.

It is indeed God’s will to turn us into a wonder to our world.
God delights in tuning impossibilities into possibilities. He loves to do in our lives that which will make men wonder and ponder.
However, our faith is required for God to do the miraculous. When we believe, all things will indeed be possible to us.
There is incredible power in what we believe. Jesus said signs will follow those that believe (Mark 16:17-18).
When you get in agreement with God and believe His Word, your faith can supersede any natural law. What you believe will be greater than what the expert medical report or bank account says.
Sometimes, just like Wilma Rudolph, God will put a dream in your heart that seems impossible. But if only you will believe, God can do the incredible and cause you to make a Mark in your generation.
If you are faced with any situation that seems impossible, always remember that nothing is impossible to God.
If He can create the world in six days, raise the dead, part the red sea and stop the mouth of lions, certainly He can do the miraculous in your life. All you need is to connect to faith in His Word. When we believe God, His great power is released to accomplish signs and wonders in our lives.

Ephesians 1:19 says ‘and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power..’

Indeed the exceeding greatness of God’s power is available to those who believe. Certainly what you believe is what you will receive.
Therefore Today, let us begin to believe God for amazing things this year. Surely, through faith in God, we can achieve the impossible and truly become wonders to our world.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to align with Your Word so that I can begin to see Your signs and wonders in my life. I thank You Lord for the grace to believe You for even the impossible this year. I know indeed that You are set to do great and mighty things in my life in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 4; GRACE FOR THE RACE..

Psalms 71:7 ‘I am as a wonder unto many; but thou [art] my strong refuge.’

DAILY READING; • Acts 14; Joshua 22; Job 31

The year 1945 saw the emergence of three great evangelists: They were Billy Graham; Chuck Templeton, and Bron Clifford. Each time, they preached, they filled auditoriums to capacity. At that time, Chuck Tempelton was called “the most gifted and talented young man in America for preaching.”
Clifford was admired by many, preached to thousands and the future looked very bright.
Though Graham, Tempeton, and Clifford were shooting stars for Christ at that time, few years down the road, only the name of Billy Graham endured. The name of the other two faded into oblivion. .
What happened? Though Templeton and Clifford started well, they failed to end well. Templeton eventually left his ministry to pursue a career as a radio and television commentator and newspaper columnist. He said he no longer was a believer in Christ in the orthodox sense of the term.
Clifford got embroiled in Alcoholism and financial irresponsibility. He eventually lost his family, his ministry, his health, and then his life.
On the contrary Billy Graham, who had taken his spiritual responsibility very seriously, continued to wax stronger in ministry. Billy Graham would eventually end up as the greatest evangelist of the 20th century.

In the Christian race, it is not enough to start well, we must aim to also finish well.
With the race of 2021 set before us, we must determine by God’s grace to run a good race.
This year has been declared our year of wonder. But spiritual responsibility is required for us to see the fulfillment of this prophecy. To truly become a wonder this year, God must be our strong refuge.

Psalms 71:7 says ‘I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge.’

We need to go deeper in our relationship with God and become strongly rooted in Him. It is the manifestations of God through us that turns us to a wonder. The Lord’s doing through us will always be marvelous in the eyes of men.

Certainly, God who has called us to become a wonder, has also made the grace available. With the help of God we will be able to attain unimaginable heights and even surprise ourselves. No matter how impossible any situation we may face, certainly through Christ we can do all things.

Deuteronomy 33:25 says “As your days are, so shall your strength be’

Every day of this year there shall be a release of the strength we need to overcome. However, we need to daily connect to God’s Word, to access this strength. The Word of God imparts faith in our heart and faith is the victory that overcomes the world. We must also daily maintain our joy, because the joy of the Lord is our strength.
Indeed we have what it takes to be a wonder to our world this year, all we need is to take spiritual responsibility and tap into God’s available grace.
No matter where you may be today, your best days are still ahead of you. This is your year! Your path will only keep shining brighter and brighter. It doesn’t matter where you may have fallen in the past, by God’s grace this is your year to see beauty for ashes.
As you keep daily looking into God’s Word you will be transformed from glory to glory. God will be working through you to do His good pleasure.

This year, with God on our side, we can fight the good fight, run the race and keep the faith. Certainly, God who has begun a good work in us, will continue to perform it until it’s complete. By His grace, this shall be our best year so far, a year in which we truly become a wonder to our world.

PRAYER; Father, I thank You for the wonderful things You are set to do in my life this year. Thank You Lord for Your promise of filling this year with wonder for me. I receive the grace to run the race set before me and to finish it well in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 3 : POWER TO BECOME A WONDER..

LUKE 10:19 ‘Behold I give unto you power to thread upon serpent and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, nothing shall by any means hurt you.

DAILY READING Acts 13:26-52; Joshua 20-21; Job 30

The electric stargazers are a family of fish that have eyes on top of their heads, this is why they are called stargazers. Stargazers are ambush predators which are capable of camouflaging themselves. Their usual habit is to hide and bury themselves in the bottom of the sea, until their prey comes along. The body is designed so that the eyes, nostrils, and most of the mouth are above the sand when the fish is hidden. However when they see a prey, with a jolt of electricity from near their eyes, they stun their victim and gobble it up.
An electric stargazer generates its own electric field using a specialized electric organ in its body. They can discharge electricity that is powerful enough to stun a man. They usually do not attack unchecked or unexpected. Stargazer fish will not harm humans unless it is senses a threat. If approached by a diver, it generally will not move unless disturbed. However if it feels threatened, from its poisonous spines, it can discharge electricity up to 50 volts, which is capable of harming humans. Its electricity is used primarily to fend off an attack or aggressive threat.
Night divers are careful to avoid a confrontation with this fish, to avoid being stung with its dangerous and powerful electric shocks. The stargazer is well-armed to protect itself, in addition to discharging volts of electricity, they possess a poisonous venom spine just above the pectoral fins.
For these fishes, they survive through releasing electricity. That is how these fishes are able to fight off danger and protect themselves from predators.

Spiritually, we are in era where we should be equipped to fend off attacks. God has given us the power of the Spirit to dominate our environment. The power of the Holy Spirit, is often likened to electricity. Through releasing a high voltage of the power of The Spirit, we can stun our enemies and be protected from every evil harassment.
Having come into a new year we should be well equipped to overcome every battle that comes our way this year. This is why it is important that we commit to spending quality time in prayer. The truth is that either you pray or you become a prey. There is an enemy going about like a roaring lion looking for who to devour, we must therefore know how to resist him in faith. Any believer who does not know how to fight spiritual battles through God’s power is living dangerously.
To be constantly victorious, we must make a decision to always spend quality time in God’s Word and prayers. That is how we can be equipped to defend ourselves from attacks and fight the good fight of faith. Indeed God has given us everything we need to defeat the enemy’s plots and schemes.
In Luke 10:19, Jesus says ‘’Behold I give unto you power to thread upon serpent and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy, nothing shall by any means hurt you.’

Through the power of God we can overcome every force of the enemy. God has given us superior weapons of warfare which are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. We have power through the study of God’s Word, fasting, pray and praise. Indeed through the great display of God’s power every enemy will be defeated and submit to us.

Psalm 66:3 says “Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.”

Indeed in this end time, power is crucial. When God’s power is in place, you’re in charge. When His power is at work in you, you keep reigning!
It is God’s plan to turn us to a wonder to our world this year, but we must take the spiritual responsibility necessary to see its manifestation. Indeed as we begin to pay the spiritual price to manifest God’s power, certainly, we will dominate our environment and truly become signs and wonders to everyone this year.

PRAYER: Lord, please grant me the grace to constantly generate power through maintaining a prayerful lifestyle. Indeed by the greatness of Your power in my life, every enemy of my destiny must bow. Thank You Lord for making me a wonder to my world in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 2; A TIME TO SEEK GOD..

Jeremiah 29:13-14 ‘And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity..’

DAILY READING; • Acts 13:1-25; Joshua 18-19; Job 29

Alexander MacLaren was a Baptist minister known as “the prince of expository preachers.” MacLaren often drew large crowds due to his powerful sermons. He was said to be “mighty in the Scriptures”
He was twice elected president of the Baptist Union, and was the first president of the Baptist World Alliance.
The secret of his success is embedded in his habit of preparation. The first twelve years of his ministry were spent in obscurity in the little town of Southampton. MacLaren often spoke of these twelve years of obscurity as being immensely valuable preparation time for the great ministry that would follow.
In that quiet, obscure little place he spent a lot of time with his Bible. Rising at dawn, he would study for nine or ten hours per day. He spent time patiently meditating on each passage of Scripture while communing with God.
The fuel gathered in his hours of Bible study, ignited a deep prayer life and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. This resulted in his powerful delivery of God’s Word and a highly impactful ministry.
He was quoted as saying, “I have always found that my own efficiency in preaching has been in direct proportion to the frequency and depth of my daily communion with God.”

Indeed the depths of our preparation will determine the heights of our manifestation. Preparation is a fundamental key to success in life.
We have come into a new year and the days ahead are somehow like a puzzle. With the rapidly changing scenario in the world today, no expert or analytical data can give a clear prediction of what this year holds.
Only God knows what is ahead. Therefore we must seek His face to get a clear direction for our lives.
Don’t assume you know or run with only the general theme of the year, without a personal revelation. Find out what God is saying personally to you. These beginning days of the year is a good time for a personal retreat, where you get away from noise and distraction to hear from God.
When you meditate upon Scriptures and spend enough time in prayers, you will certainly sense the direction God is leading you.
This is one year we really need divine direction and guidance. It is a time to really get close to God and carefully follow His plan.
The world is going through a lot of rapid changes as it evolves into a ‘new normal’. We therefore cannot afford to continue doing things ‘normally’.
It is time to wake up and be spiritually alert and aware. Anyone who continues in a state of spiritual laxity at this time is playing Russian roulette with their destiny. Anything can happen at any time! We are very close to the end of the age. The Bible has already given us sufficient warnings.
We must therefore live ready and be spiritually prepared; constantly seeking God for His divine guidance.
In spite of the growing gross darkness in the world, it is God’s plan in this end-time for His glory to be seen upon us. Christ is coming for a reigning Church without spot or wrinkle. At this time, God is raising an army of believers who will command influence and dominate the world. Each of us has a place in this great army.
However it is our choice for dedication today that will guarantee our distinction tomorrow. Let us therefore receive the grace to earnestly seek God in this season so as to be adequately prepared to follow His plans to our preordained glory this year.

PRAYER; Father I receive the grace today to set myself apart to seek Your face and hear clear directions from You and receive Your plans for my life this year. Thank You Lord for destroying every spiritual laxity in me and enabling me to be fervent in spirit in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 1; A NEW BEGINNING!

Isaiah 43:18-19 “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.”

DAILY READING; Acts 12; Joshua 15-17; Job 28

Today America is celebrated as the greatest nation on earth. However, its existence became possible because the founding fathers were willing to make a break with their past and have a new beginning and fresh start.
The pilgrims were among the earliest settlers in America. Originally they were a group of Christians from England, who wanted to live their lives strictly according to the Scriptures. They had made a covenant with God “to walk in all His ways ..’
Their pursuit of a holy life made them to disagree with the traditional practices and trappings of the Church of England. This resulted in severe persecution from the Church of England, that eventually forced the pilgrims to flee from England to seek for a new home.
They sailed across the ocean and after about 65 days, they disembarked in the land that would later become known as America.
However in this new land, the Pilgrims met very harsh conditions. The weather was cold, food supplies were low, and many became ill. By the spring of 1621, about half of the group had died.
However, God’s mercies did prevail and the Pilgrims miraculously met an Indian named Squanto who had lived in Europe and could speak good English. He was especially helpful in teaching them how to survive in the new land.
They also made friends with the local Indians. Few months later, their situations changed for good. They began to prosper as the land yielded bountiful harvests.
In November of that year, they invited their Indian neighbors to a three day feast to thank God. This would become known as the first thanksgiving celebration in America.
The pilgrim’s willingness to have a fresh start and new beginning eventually led to the establishment of the great Nation of America today.

Isaiah 43:18-19 says “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.”

It is a brand New Year today! Alleluyah!
What a joy to finally cross over to the new year. To God be all the glory!
Our seeing this first day of 2021 is certainly the Lord’s doing which is marvelous in our eyes. Despite all the enemy’s attempt to stop you from crossing the finish line, you finally crossed over, You have made it into the New year. All glory to Jesus!
Certainly it has been a tumultuous journey to this point. But though weeping may have endured for the night, surely joy is about to break forth. Despite the things you had to ‘go through’, now it is time for you to ‘break through’
It is certainly a new beginning of great things. Therefore determine to make every day count. This new year is an unspoiled page in your book of time. In each day there are 24 hours, 1,440 minutes, and 86,400 seconds-and every one of them is a precious gift from God. DECEMBER 31; GOD IS WORTHY OF ALL PRAISE

Psalm 46; 1-2 ‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;’

DAILY READING; Acts 11:19-30; Joshua 13-14; Job 27

On April 30 2008, a killer tornado was headed towards Suffolk, Virginia in the U.S. As Media outlets screamed out warnings, many of the town’s residents fled to safety. However, a resident of the town, Beth Catania, was unaware of what was going on because her television was off. When her husband later called from his office to give her the warning, she just had enough time to take refuge in her closet. But she had no idea of the great force of what was coming. When, she began to hear the heavy rumbling of the approaching tornado, she began to pray, thanking Jesus for divine protection and for the covering of His Blood.
Then suddenly, there was a loud crash, and her house exploded as it was hit by the tornado. As the closet where she was hiding was shattered to pieces, Beth found herself rolling amid the debris that were flying all around her. Yet in the midst of this confusion she felt God’s hand covering her.
When the tornado pulled the entire house from its foundation and hurled it into the sky, miraculously, Beth was left behind on the ground. As the sound of the wind finally stopped, she opened her eyes and realized that she was still alive in the midst of the chaos and destruction. Right there, she raised her hands and began to bless God for His awesomeness!
She was later evacuated to a safe zone.
A few days later, Beth and her husband visited what was left of their home. In the midst of the destruction, they found in a corner of the house’s foundation, Beth’s Bible, lying open to Psalm 75.

The beginning part of this Psalm says ” Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare…’

Certainly, God’s wondrous work had preserved Beth. A lot of people were amazed that she survived the tornado that tore her home to shreds.
Speaking later to CBN news, Beth’s husband said he believed she had survived because she was tucked under the wings of the Almighty, and protected from the devastation.

Psalm 46:1 says ‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble..’

Certainly a lot of things came apart around us this year, but through it all, God remained our refuge and strength.
At the beginning of this year none of us had a full picture of what 2020 would be like. Certainly, we had little idea of the tornado that was coming. But when it hit, God saw us through it all. God’s hand has kept us through the pandemic, through the economic downturn and shielded us through the midst of the resulting confusion and destruction.
Indeed it is only because of the Lord’s mercies that we have not been consumed. He not only made ways for us where there seemed to be no way, He even went ahead and gave us breakthroughs, open doors and divine liftings.
And now here we are, finally, on the very last day of this tumultuous year. Certainly if it had not been for the Lord on our side, where would we be? Therefore, what can we say today, but lift our voice and give continual praise to this wonderful God.
We have survived not by power or might, but by the help of the Spirit of The Lord.
Now, we are just a few hours from 2021. As we stand at the threshold of the New year, though we may not know what tomorrow holds, we are thankful that we know who holds tomorrow. And He has assured us that, as we put our trust in Him we shall never be ashamed.
Therefore, let us spend the last remaining hours of 2020, in earnest praise and appreciation to this our awesome God! And as we praise Him for bringing us through 2020, certainly He would go ahead of us to smoothen every path. Indeed He will do for us exceedingly, abundantly, above all we could ever ask, think or imagine, in the coming year.

PRAYER: Lord, I truly bless You and deeply appreciate You for enabling me see this last day of 2020. Thank you Lord for all You have done for me this year. Father I am very grateful. May all honor, worship and adoration be unto You now and forever in Jesus Mighty Name.
