Isaiah 8:18 ‘Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.’
DAILY READING – Acts 14; Joshua 22; Job 31
Frederick Douglass is regarded as the father of the civil rights movement in America. He was a famous African-American social reformer, celebrated author and presidential adviser.
However what is amazing is that he was born as a black slave boy with seemingly no future. He was separated from his mother at a very young age and sent to work for a slave master. When he was 12 years, his master’s wife secretly started teaching him to read and write. At this time it was illegal to educate black slaves and so eventually the teachings stopped. But Douglass continued educating himself by observing the writings of the white children in the neighborhood.
In the Church for black people, Douglass began using the Bible to teach the other slaves what he was learning.. After this was discovered, Douglass was often severely punished by the white slave masters. He rebelled and made numerous attempts to escape. On September 3, 1838, he finally escaped successfully by boarding a train and reached New York. There he became a licensed preacher serving in the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. Soon, he joined the abolitionist movement to stop slavery. He travelled to different countries and delivered lectures in churches and chapels that drew thousands of people.
He wrote his autobiography so eloquently that skeptics doubted it was the work of a Black man. From a slave boy, Frederick Douglas would rise to become one of the most famous intellectuals of his time who served as adviser to five United States presidents.
Indeed there can be no limitation to the man who solidly makes up his mind to rise by God’s help. Education, poverty, race or family background can never be a hindrance. Surely, when God is for you, nothing can be against you.
By covenant every child of God is born to be a wonder to the world.
Isaiah 8:18 says ‘Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.’
You are born for signs and wonders.
It doesn’t matter the obstacles against you, because of God’s divine genes in you, surely you will always overcome. .
Therefore do not limit yourself. Our architect and Master builder is God. He has designed the blueprint of our lives to manifest His glory on the earth.
When a building is under construction, to the untrained eye, initially the building can look really messed up. But the architect who drew the plans, knows that emerging from the mess is a beautiful structure.
Likewise, God is at work in your life. You are a divine project. Though there may be difficulties and challenges, as you remain persistent in pursuing God’s plan, it is only a matter of time before the glory within you emerges.
Therefore, never allow challenges to erode your passion. Never allow people or circumstances to deter you. Trust God to bring to manifestation the prophetic word spoken over you this year. You shall indeed emerge as a wonder.
No matter how disheveled things may look right now, believe that the Faithful One who has called you, will also do it.
Focus on following God’s plan through prayers and consistent study of the Word. Even if the road sometimes seem hard, keep pressing forward and never give up. Surely there is an end and your expectations shall not be cut short. By God’s grace, you shall surely become a sign and a wonder to everyone this year in Jesus Name..
PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the grace and strength to keep pressing forward in every situation. Certainly by Your grace I shall indeed soon see a manifestation of Your great plans for my life this year in Jesus Name.
