JANUARY 27; BE STEADFAST AND UNMOVEABLE!

1 Corinthians 15:58 ‘Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.’

DAILY READING; Romans 1:16-32; 1 Samuel 9:1-10:16; Psalm 55

Asa Alonzo Allen, better known as A.A Allen, was one of the most outstanding revivalists of the Voice of Healing revival of the 1950’s.
When Allen first started out in ministry, he had a sincere desire to follow God’s highest calling for his life. However, along the way, he became tempted to settle for less than God’s best.
In 1936, Alllen was a pastor who was so hungry for God’s power that he separated himself in fasting and prayers to seek God untill he eventually had a divine encounter.
During this divine visitation,, he was given a list of thirteen things that he needed to do so as to see the power of God in his ministry. Many of these items focused on total consecration to God and laying down sin. God told him if he did all of these things he would see healings and miracles.
Determined to follow God’s plan, Allen resigned from his position as a pastor and became a travelling evangelist, holding crusades in different towns.
However, being constantly on the road soon began to put a strain on his wife and four children. Moreover his income was no longer stable and they suffered financial lack.
Eventually in 1947 Allen decided to pull out from his travelling ministry to settle for a more stable life. He accepted an offer to pastor a church in Texas and soon settled down into a ‘normal’ life.
Two years later, in 1949, he began to hear about the great healing revivals being held by ministers like William Branham and Oral Roberts. When he attended these meetings, incredulously, he realized that what they were doing was the ministry God had called him to do. He then regretted not following through with God’s instruction, but rather settling for a comfortable life.
.
Remorseful and repentant, Allen resigned his pastoral position and by the next year, 1950, he once again began holding evangelistic meetings. As he began to pay the price required of him, soon the power of God greatly erupted in his ministry, establishing him as one of the most remarkable revivalists in this mighty move of God that powerfully swept through the 1950’s.
His autobiography titled ‘Born to Lose, Bound to Win’ captures his remarkable story.

When A.A Allen received instructions from God on the ministry to follow, he had no idea of the revival that was coming. But God is a master planner and His instructions to us are all working ultimately into His divine blue print. Some of us would have been in greater and better positions in life today, if only we had faithfully followed the instructions God gave to us in the past
God has the script to each of our lives and our responsibility is to ensure that we are cooperating with His Spirit and building according to the pattern He has shown us.

God has already mapped out our destiny before the foundation of the world. And the path of every one’s destiny is different and unique.
This is why we should not pattern our lives after what someone else is doing or settle for what seems comfortable.
We do not obey God as convenient, but we obey as commanded.
When we know of a certainty that God has spoken to us, then we must focus on His instructions and run our race refusing to be discouraged by circumstances.
A vision is like a seed whose full dignity only emerges at the end.
When God calls us to an assignment, though we may not initially see the whole picture, we need to trust Him and continue to walk in faith. No matter the cost of the high calling, we must determine to keep doing our best and trust God to take care of the rest.
God alone knows what He wants to accomplish in and through us. As we begin to obey Him in the simple things the bigger picture of what He has ordained for us will begin to unfold.

Frustration in life comes from leaving God’s plan to follow our own paths. No matter how beautiful our own devices, it is only God’s counsel that can stand the test of time and only the Lord’s doing can be marvelous in our eyes.
Following God’s plan demands time spent in prayer, fasting and study of the Word. We must indeed walk closely to God, because no one has the capacity to execute divine plan except God Himself. And as we remain steadfast unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, surely our labour will not be in vain. Eventually we will see the full manifestation of God’s plan and arrive at His glorious destination for us.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the great and amazing things You have lined up for me in this season. Please help me to persist in faith, knowing that what You have promised, You are indeed able to accomplish in my life in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 26; WATCH AND PRAY!

Luke 21:36 “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man”.

DAILY READING – • Romans 1:1-15; 1 Samuel 8; Psalm 54

Mount St. Helens eruption was the worst volcanic disaster in U.S. history. Despite the many warning signs before the blast, many people were still caught off guard.
Historically, Mt. St. Helens has had extended periods of volcanic activity, interspersed with dormant periods that lasted for hundreds of years. After a last eruption in 1857, the volcano grew quiet.
Due to its inactivity, during the 20th century, most people lost the fear of this potentially deadly volcano and built houses around the base of the mountain.
However, on March 20, 1980, there came a first warning sign that the volcano had reawakened, when a 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck underneath the mountain. Scientists flocked to the area to examine this occurrence. Similar small eruptions continued for the next month, causing fears that made the entire area to be evacuated..
However because the expected ‘big’ eruption did not occur, after two months, people began to relax and ignore the evacuation orders.
Government officials faced complications in enforcing evacuation because geologists were uncertain of what would happen because the mountain was inherently unpredictable.
However, at 8:32 a.m. on May 18, 1980, on a clear, cloudless, sunny Sunday morning, without warning, the big eruption suddenly came and caught people off guard.
A 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck under Mt. St. Helens resulting in avalanche that crashed down the mountain, destroying everything in its path. No one anticipated the strength of the eruption, which spewed 540 million tons of ash into the air and killed 57 people.
The casualty rate could have been worse, but fortunately, many lives were spared because that Sunday morning, hundreds of loggers who normally worked in the area were off duty.

Just as condition of the mountain remained unpredictable until the day of the volcanic eruption, situations in the world remain precarious today.
It may be easy to blame people living around the mountain for ignoring clear warnings, but likewise spiritually, many people are in deep slumber, ignoring Biblical warnings, even as the coming of the Lord fast approaches.
The 5 foolish virgins knew the bridegroom was coming, they had every opportunity to have gotten oil, while they could, yet they squandered the time of grace.
If ever there was a time to carefully heed Biblical prophesies, and live ready, that time is now! The truth is that the world has entered the fearful end-time years that are the grand climax of human civilization.
As believers, the security of our destiny in these end-times is to stay spiritually sensitive, alert and awake. We need to get oil in our lamps while we still can and begin to fervently seek God’s face while there is still time.

Indeed our ability to escape the evil of these perilous times will be determined by our commitment to a prayerful lifestyle.

In Luke 21:36 Jesus said “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man”.

Prayer is necessary for us to spiritually monitor end-time events so as not to be caught off guard. When we fast and pray, it sharpens our spiritual sensitivity and keeps us vigilant.
As end-time signs rapidly unfold around us, we can no longer afford to be spiritually numb or act unperturbed. It is indeed time to urgently wake up from every spiritual slumber and begin to watch and pray!

“Watch,” is the translation of one of two Greek words (gregoreuo and agrupneo), which have similar meanings—to “stay awake” and to “be sleepless.”

In these last days, we must therefore be fully awake, aware, alert and intently watching in God’s Word..
To overcome the many distractions and temptations that try to hinder our prayer life we must continually engage the power in the Blood of Jesus. As we plead the Blood, the yoke of spiritual lethargy and laziness will be broken in our lives.
By taking constant cover under the Blood, we will stay revived, alert and engraced to successfully run our Heavenly race.

PRAYER: Father please enable me to stay spiritually revived and alert. Please help me to make the needed spiritual investments in fasting, fervent prayers and study of Your Word so that I can always be sensitive to the leadings of Your Spirit in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 25; KEEP PRESSING FORWARD!

Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

DAILY READING; Acts 28:17-31; 1 Samuel 6-7; Psalm 53

Velmer James Gardner was a prominent evangelist of the Voice of Healing revival that swept through America in the 1950s.

After answering the call to ministry, Velmer was ordained by the Assemblies of God Church in 1942.
While serving as a pastor, he was gripped by the desire to see more of the power of God in his ministry.
He was deeply impressed by how, at the time, God was using older ministers such as Smith Wigglesworth and Dr. Charles Price. When Velmer asked God why he wasn’t seeing the same great anointing in his own ministry, God told him “You can if you’ll pay the price.”
Velmer then determined to pay the price and he began to fast and pray for hours each day to see the presence of God become a reality in his life.
However, despite his fervent prayers, there still seemed to be no great rriracles in his ministry. Those were difficult days for him as the devil tried hard to discourage him from continuing to pray..
In March 1947, Velmer Gardner was deeply shocked to hear that the two great men of God he admired, Charles S. Price and Smith Wigglesworth, both died within a few days of each other. He then cried out to God, asking what would now happen to the many broken and hurting people who still needed miracles and healings. He then became more determined to manifest God’s power.
As Velmer continued to seek God, he finally began to see the healing revival he had been praying so.long for..
In 1948, he went to Oregon to hold services for another Pastor, and the meetings that started small, quickly grew as healings and miracles began to occur.
From then on great manifestations of power began to flow in Velmer Gardner’s ministry. He too began to walk in great anointing and eventually became one of the notable revivalists of the Voice of healing revival of the 1950’s.

It certainly takes patience to obtain the promises of God.
If the vision tarries, we must wait for it, because in the end, it will surely speak. All days of our appointed time we must be prepared to wait until our change comes.

Why we sometimes miss out on God’s best is because we become impatient with the process that births the promise.
But we must be conscious that we are in a warfare, with an enemy who fights hard to try to discourage us from seeing our harvest..

Therefore, to see results, we must discipline ourselves to persist in prayers.
We must continue to travail in order to prevail in life. Certainly, if we refuse to grow weary, in due season, we will reap.
In pursuing our vision, various situations will attempt to slow or halt our progress.
But though the righteous may fall seven times, he still gets up again and keeps moving forward.
So should we, because surely, there’s an end, and our expectations will not be cut off.
Though life’s race may be marked with hurdles of challenges and discouragements, through Christ, we are destined to triumph always.

Even when you don’t see immediate results, never give up on your fervent pursuit of God. Your labour shall not be in vain because God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Therefore, continue to be consistent in your Word study, fasting, praying, praise, worship, sacrificial giving etc.
As you stay faithful, you will indeed become fruitful. God is too faithful to fail you.
We serve the miracle-working God who is able to do what He has promised to do. Therefore, in every situation, let us continually bless the Lord and keep His praises always on our lips.
Especially, as we wait upon Him, it is certainly our season to see supernatural turnarounds, miraculous healings, breakthroughs and eruption of great revival in our midst.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the grace and strength to keep pressing forward in this season. As I refuse to give up, surely, by Your grace I shall soon see mighty manifestations of Your power in my life in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 24; PRAYER CHANGES THINGS!

2 Chronicles 7:14 ‘If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.’

DAILY READING; Acts 28:1-16; 1 Samuel 4-5; Psalm 52

Kefa Sempangi was the founding pastor of the Redeemed Church of Kampala in Uganda that had 14,000 members in the early 70s.
Things drastically changed after Idi Amin came to power in Uganda in 1971.
After taking control of the country in a coup, Amin declared his title to be “ President for Life, Field Marshal.. Lord of All the Beasts of the Earth and Fishes of the Sea and Conqueror of the British Empire.”

Initially not taken seriously by Western countries, it however soon became clear that Amin was a murderous dictator intent on annihilating thousands of Ugandans, especially the Christians.
Faced with this evil threat, Pastor Kefa Sempangi, and his Church members cried out to God for intervention. They began continuous vigils of prayer, taking turns fasting and praying for long hours at a time. When they were not praying they were witnessing to their neighbors and friends, urging them to receive Christ and be saved.
As prayers intensified at Pastor Sempangi’s Church, it came to the notice of Idi Amin.

One day, the pastor was confronted by four of Idi Amin’s henchmen, who walked into his room, with guns drawn. Their leader informed the pastor they had come to kill him.
However the power of God, which had been ignited through the congregation’s continuous prayers, overpowered these men.
Instead of killing him, the leader of the gang asked the pastor to pray for them. He did so and led them to Christ. Later this leader of the gang helped pastor Sempangi to escape from Uganda.
Pastor Sempangi lived in exile in Holland and the United States until Idi Amin was deposed, after which he returned back to Uganda to continue his ministry work and help re-establish Christianity in the country.
His book “A Distant Grief,” captures his story.

The truth is that either you pray or you become a prey.
Certainly, those who call upon the Lord shall be saved.
Miracles are the deliberate acts of God provoked by the desperate faith and prayers of men.
Indeed there is no intervention without intercession. God destroys the resistance when we cry out to Him for assistance.

When pharaoh and his army seem to be in hot pursuit and it seems you are caught between the rock and the hard place, you can always escape through prayers.
As you fervently call upon God, He puts in motion a divine orchestration of events, that suddenly turns the tide of the battle in your favour.

Truly, prayer changes things!
Those who know the secret of kneeling before God in prayer will always stand tall before men.
Therefore, today, whatever situation you may be faced with, know that there is a way out of it through prayers.
If you’ve been fighting an uphill battle in your family, your finances, your career, family or relationships—prayer can turn thiat situation around for you.

If the siege and oppression appears stronger than what you can handle, then fasting becomes necessary.
The Scriptures tell us that some ‘kinds’ will not go out except fasting and prayers are engaged. (Matthew 17:21]
Through fasting we connect to the yoke- breaking anointing that will destroy the demonic oppressions of the wicked.
No matter the siege of the enemy in any area of your life, you can walk out free in this season of praying and fasting. As you pray, God will deliver you from every oppression and establish unusual manifestations of His power in your life.
Suddenly things are going to start turning around and you will look up to find out that those tests have turned into testimonies.

PRAYER: Lord, please grant me the grace to persevere in this season of fasting and praying. I thank You for breaking every yoke of oppression in my life and establishing my victory in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 23; MOUNTING UP WITH EAGLE’S WINGS!

Isaiah 40:31 ‘But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.’

DAILY READING • Acts 27:13-44; 1 Samuel 3; Psalm 51

In March 14, 2015, an eagle named “Darshan” launched into flight from the top of the world’s tallest building, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa tower, with a live-stream camera strapped to its back. This eagle’s flight is said to set the world record for “highest-ever recorded bird flight from a man-made structure.”

Eagles are truly fascinating birds, known for their power and ability to fly at high altitudes in the sky. No other bird flies as high as the eagle.
Eagles fly alone and have strong vision, which can focus up to 5 kilometres from the air.
However, an eagle’s ability to soar high, is as a result of its diet. Eagles do not just eat anything. Eagles feed only on freshly killed prey and do not feed on dead things. Eagles feed well and have such voracious appetite that they can consume half a kilogram of fish in about four minutes.

Because the eagles feed on fresh meat, they are strong and fly high. Eating dead things can impair their ability of free flight, so they avoid it.
On the contrary, vultures feed on dead carcasses and tend to overeat. Due to this they get intoxicated, such that they can neither move fast nor fly high and thus become prey to wild animals. Because vultures feed on dead things they have their vision impaired and can’t see very far.

The Bible says that as we wait upon the Lord we will mount up with wings as Eagles. Just as the Eagle feeds well to soar high, in the same vein, in order for us to mount up to great heights our spirit must feed right and feed well.
It certainly takes a strong spirit for a man to rise in life. Therefore as we wait upon the Lord in this season, we must feed well on His Word, so that we can receive the needed strength to rise higher.
The Word of God contains the complete diet for the human spirit. When you feed on the Word, you will be strong and do exploits.
The truth is that you will fly high or remain low, dependent upon what you feed your mind. Therefore to be high flyers like the eagle we need to be choosy over the things that enter into our minds.

Your spiritual feeding will affect your spiritual size and strength. What you feed on will determine how your life turns out. The lion known as the strongest among beasts, eats only fresh meat.
In the same way, spiritually, we need to daily feed on the fresh meat of the living Word of God.
Feeding on dead and polluted things from the world can dull a man’s spiritual sensitivity. Feeding the mind with things that are contrary to God’s will can weigh a man down, and keep him on the floor, unable to soar until inevitably he becomes an easy prey to the enemy. Sin is a sinker, but righteousness exalts.

Let us decide today to feed on the strong fresh meat of the Word, so that our senses can be exercised to discern between good and evil.
As we feed deeply on God’s Word in this period of fasting , surely we will receive the strength to mount up to the great heights of exploits that God has ordained for us this year.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to feed constantly on Your Word, so that I can get to know You more and receive the wisdom and revelation to do amazing exploits this year. By Your grace I will continue to mount up to greater heights in all my endeavors in Jesus Name

JANUARY 22; LIGHT UP YOUR WORLD!

Matthew 5:16 ‘Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven’.

DAILY READING; Acts 27:1-12; 1 Samuel 2:11-36; Psalm 50

The story of Evan Roberts and the Welsh Revival is one of the most thrilling in Christian history.
As a boy Evan Roberts was unusually serious and diligent in his Christian life. He memorised verses of the Bible and was a daily attender of Moriah Chapel, a church in his hometown.
Even at 13 years of age he began to develop a heart for a visitation from God. Thereafter, for about eleven years he prayed for revival. He could sit up all night to read or talk about revivals.
After working in the coal mines, he later entered a preparatory college to study for ministry.
In 1903 , when he was 25 years old, he began to pray for more of the power of the Spirit in his life. From then on he would wake up at 1.00 am for divine fellowship, praying for four hours before returning to bed at 5.00 am.
From the preparatory school, he returned back to his home town and began holding prayer meetings, encouraging people to pray for the outpouring of the Spirit.. These meetings slowly increased in numbers and powerful waves of intercession often swept over those gathered. The crowds continued to come and the meetings often went on until the early hours of the morning.

Then in November of 1904, the Welsh revival broke forth, this spiritual revolution spearheaded by Evan Roberts greatly affected Britain. The revival like a hurricane, swept through the landscape unlike anything ever seen before in the nation.
This move of the Spirit ushered hundreds of thousands of souls’ into the Kingdom of God.
Hundreds of overseas visitors flocked to Wales to witness the phenomenon and many took the fire back to their own land.
The Welsh Revival became one of the greatest Holy Spirit outpourings in the history of Christianity. And this happened because, Evan Roberts, yielded himself to God to be used mightily to usher in a rmove of the Spirit.

Revival is more than a word; it is an heavenly invasion of the kingdom of God upon the earth. It takes willing and yielded vessels to become the channels through which the power of the Spirit flows to ignite the hearts of men for God.
Just like the fire that swept through Britain, we need the revival Fire of the Holy Ghost burning upon our lives today more than ever before. Nothing can bring healing and deliverance to men, as the Fresh Fire of the Holy Ghost.

The truth is that God has called us to shine as lights in our world. Especially with the state of things in the world today, our light is needed more than ever before.

Jesus said no one lights a candle and hides it under a bushel, but sets it up on a candlestick to give light to all that in the house.

Our lights are not to be hidden rather it is meant to shine brightly in the gross darkness of this age. In generations past, there were great men and women, as Evan Roberts, whom God used to light up their world. In the midst of the wickedness in their nations they stood and brought about positive changes. By letting their lights shine brightly, many lost souls were drawn out of darkness into God’s kingdom.

In our generation today, we are embodiment of Christ’s light! Especially in this turbulent end times, we need to let our lights shine brightly before men. We need to fervently stand in the place of intercession, overturning the plans of the wicked and ensuring a positive change in our nations. As intercessors, we are facilitators of divine intervention.

However, for our lights to shine brightly, we need to be strongly connected to the Holy Ghost, through a fervent spiritual life..
Therefore, as we wait upon the Lord in this period, let us go for greater depths in study of the Word, prayers and worship,, until fresh fire from Heaven falls upon us and truly ignites us to shine as lights in the world.

PRAYER: Lord, I am available, please use me in this generation to affect my world positively. Especially in these end-times, let my light so shine before men that many souls may be brought into Your kingdom in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 21; POWER TO SUBDUE OPPOSITIONS

Psalm 66:3 ‘Say sunto God, How terrible art Thou in Thy works! Through the greatness of Thy power shall Thine enemies submit themselves unto Thee’.

DAILY READING; • Acts 26:19-32; 1 Samuel 1:1-2:10; Psalm 49

Dr. R. Edward Miller was a missionary in Argentina for over 25 years, and later preached the Gospel extensively in over 65 countries. He is the author of the Book “Secrets of the Argentine Revival”.
One of the interesting stories Dr. Edward Miller shared from the Argentine revival was what happened when the Lord sent him to a Russian Church in the Northern Province of Chaco, Argentina.
When he got there, God moved miraculously and came down in a glorious way in that Church, and they experienced a revival which lasted over six months.
However, the pastor of the Church, had a son that was about 19 years of age at the time, who was very, very wild and wayward. He was the head of a band of robbers and his name was Alexander Jusczcuk.
This boy was a huge embarrassment to the family and source of demonic harassment to the pastor.
As the revival was going on in his father’s Church, Alexander told his gang of about 20 boys. that it was a ripe opportunity to rob the congregants.
So they all came one night to the Church, with their guns concealed and sat among the congregation.
The people were busy focusing on God and no one really took notice of them.
While the gang was waiting for a right time to break up the meeting, suddenly Alexander found his arms and hands shooting up over his head in a posture of surrender. He then screamed out, as someone who had
been shot, and fell to the ground on his face.
He began crying out to God for mercy. Upon seeing and hearing him, the other boys got up and started running out of the building by way of the center aisle, but the power of God also brought them down and they fell under the Anointing.
That night, all the boys became saved and gave up their evil ways.
Alexander would later attend a Bible school and became a pastor who was mightily used by God to positively impact many lives.

Truly, God knows how to arrest the people and situations that try to embarass or harass His people. He is the God who can arrest the arresters.

Before his conversion, Apostle Paul was a terror to the Christians, locking up men and women for their faith. However, when Saul was arrested by the power of God, overnight, Saul the chief persecutor of the Church turned around to become its chief promoter.

When the fire of God falls it will arrest every oppression of darkness in your environment. It will deal with every source of pain and embarrassment in your life.
Some of the harassments we still face in our families, career, business, etc, is simply because we are yet to encounter the level of power that will arrest that situation. When the fire of God begins to burn around us, every oppression of darkness will come to an end.
Your children or loved ones who had been held captive by the enemy will experience sudden spiritual freedom. It doesn’t matter how strong the bondage in their lives, the power of God will break every yoke and bring swift deliverance to them.

Isaiah 49:25 says ‘But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.”

The supernatural manifestations of the Spirit is what it takes to halt every manipulations of the enemy in your family.
When revival breaks out in your environment, every demonic stronghold and oppositions will quickly submit to the greater power of the Spirit.
Certainly, through the great manifestation of the Spirit, trials will turn to triumphs and breakdowns will be converted to breakthroughs!
Everything that has been a set-back and a hindrance will turn around for our good. In the place of frustration God will bring forth joy and laughter. There will be a sudden positive shift in our circumstances.
Every plan of the wicked against our children, family or loved ones will be truncated.

Therefore, today, let us continue to press forward in fervent prayers as we wait upon the Lord.
As we eventually encounter the revival fire that we seek, it will arrest every enemy of our peace and progress, and establish a forceful divine turnaround in our lives .

PRAYER
Lord, by the power of Your Spirit, let everything contesting my glorious destiny be silenced forever in Jesus Name. Please grant me the grace to take spiritual responsibility, so that I can be victorious in every battle in Jesus Name.

Jeremiah 29:13-14 ‘And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity’

DAILY READING; • Acts 26:1-18; Ruth 3-4; Psalm 48

In the early 18th century, fire and vibrancy was lacking in many Churches in the American colonies. Churchgoers often had to listen to lengthy doctrinal sermons read by preachers from a manuscript.
In the midst of this seeming spiritual dryness, arose a young 25 years old preacher who took America by storm. His name was George Whitefield.
He preached with such great power and passion that unprecedented crowds began gathering to hear him.
His were no ordinary sermons. He portrayed the lives of biblical characters with a realism no one had seen before.
He held his audience bound with his deep insight of the Word.
However, many pastors were not impressed by Whitefield’s fiery preaching and refused to allow him preach in their Churches.
Undettered, George Whitefield then resorted to preaching outdoors, where many more began to gather to hear him.

While the suddenness of Whitefield’s success astounded skeptics and baffled his critics, what they failed to recognize was that Whitfield was only seeing the fruit of the seed he had sown in diligent spiritual preparation.
From the time he was 15 years of age, George Whitefield had been in passionate pursuit of God.
At age 20, he fasted constantly, until his health was affected and under doctor’s orders, he was confined to bed for seven weeks. Whitefield so desperately sought God, until he encountered the fire that ignited great revivals.

In 1739, Whitefield set out on a preaching tour of the American colonies. His meetings saw likely the largest gatherings of that time which even the biggest auditoriums could not contain.
Every stop along Whitefield’s trip was marked by record audiences, often exceeding the population of the towns in which he preached. This preaching tour eventually sparked the spiritual revival known as ‘the Great Awakening’. It became one of the most formative events in American history.
God used George Whitefield to spark
revivals throughout Britain and America..
His overwhelming popularity made him to be known as America’s first celebrity. And Newspapers at the time called him the “marvel of the age.”

God said in Jeremiah 29:13-14 ‘And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart”

Behind the glory there is always a story.
The height of a man’s outward manifestations is a reflection of the depth of his secret preparations.
The principles of seedtime and harvest control every man’s life and destiny.
The spiritual investments we . make determine the fruits our lives produce.
Our choice for dedication today is what guarantees our distinction tomorrow.
Therefore, to reap a fruitful life on earth it is important that we sow our time rightly in the diligent pursuit of God.
This demands discipline in the place of study of God’s Word, fasting, praying, sacrifice, worship and kingdom service.

The truth is that God won’t project you unless He has first prepared you. When our life is planted as a seed in God’s kingdom, we will eventually manifest as signs and wonders. Indeed as we pay the spiritual price of diligent pursuit of God, it is only a matter of time before the glory of the Lord will be seen upon us.

Therefore in this season, as we separate ourselves in prayers to wait upon the Lord, let us determine that we will not come out the same way we went in. Let us position ourselves to have a spiritual encounter that will revolutionize our lives.
Certainly, as we seek God and find Him, He will exceedingly reward us and turn us into a marvel to the world.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to pay the needed spiritual price so at to manifest Your glory to the world around me. Please help me to invest my time rightly in the pursuit of Your kingdom, so that I can reap the harvest of Your overflowing blessings in Jesus’ Name.

Dr. Charles Mutua Mully is a celebrated philanthropist, entrepreneur, environmentalist and the founder of Mully Children’s Family (MCF). Mully Children’s Family is a Christian organization that works to transform the lives of the poor and oppressed.
Dr. Charles Mully himself was once a victim of great poverty and oppression, until God completely transformed him.
He was born in 1949, in Kenya, as the youngest of 10 children to an alcoholic father who was so poverty stricken that he became a beggar. When Mully was only six years old, he was abandoned by his parents to live as a beggar on the streets of Kenya.
As a teenager, Mully trekked 44 miles to the capital city, Nairobi, where he continued to beg until he was eventually taken in by a rich family who fed him in return for doing house chores.
Due to his diligent work, the master of the house offered Mully a job at his agricultural company. At about the same time, Mully surrendered his life to Christ and became a Christian.
Mully worked hard and rose through the ranks in the agricultural company. After some years, he established his own business and God prospered him greatly until he became a millionaire.
One day, during a business trip, he drove his Mercedes into a street where some street children who were high on drugs asked him to pay them money to protect his car. Mully refused. After the business meeting he came out to discover that his car had been stolen. He had to take public transportation back home.
After this experience, Mully felt the Lord leading him to do something to help the street children, which he once used to be. From then on, Mully began to bring in abandoned children to live with his family. Within six years, he would have more than 300 children living with him.
In 1989, he founded the Mully Children’s Family (MCF], which has been called the “World’s Largest Family’’, with now over 3,500 children. These children are housed in six campuses where they are cared for, taught God’s Word and trained to live valuable lives.

As believers, God has called us to make a difference in the world, one life at a time. As we have received mercy, we are also to release mercy.
Especially during seasons of fasting and praying, God requires us to help the poor and oppressed. From God’s perspective, fasting with no heart for the oppressed or action taken on their behalf is a mere empty gesture.
In Isaiah 58, the people of Israel approached God after a day of fasting, asking if He had seen and noticed their act of contrition.
But rather than commend their efforts, God painted a vastly different picture of fasting for them—one that begins with loosening the bond of wickedness, undoing and breaking every yoke, and letting the oppressed go free.

Indeed the focus of our fasts should be breaking the yokes of bondage, not only in our own lives, but also in the lives of others. If we fast as the Lord intends, then we will share our bread with the hungry, bring the homeless poor into our houses and when we see the naked, we cover them.
God is pleased by such practical show of love.
Jesus set the example for us in Luke 4:18 when He declared “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,”
Jesus gave His life on the Cross to set us totally free from oppression. And just as Jesus Christ has made a difference in our hearts, we are also to make a difference in the world. We have been revived to revive others.
We may not be able to single-highhandedly effect broad systemic change, but every loving deed, every kind word, every positive action makes a difference in the world.
Many people right now are praying for a miracle. We can be an answer to that prayer. No matter where you are or what challenges you’re facing, you can look beyond your needs and allow God use you to bring a smile to someone’s face in this season.
Certainly, when we water others we will be watered also. And when we live to give, we will never lack God’s blessings.

PRAYER: Lord, Please grant me the grace to spread revival to the lives of other people. Help me to look beyond my own needs and seek rather for ways to be a blessing to the oppressed. As I do, I thank You for overflowing my life with Your blessings in Jesus Name..

JANUARY 18; THE ANOINTING WILL ANNOUNCE YOU!

Luke 4:14-15 ‘And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.’

DAILY READING; Acts 24:10-27; Judges 21; Psalm 46

The Azusa Street Revival was a historic move of the Spirit that took place in Los Angeles, California, led by William J. Seymour.
It came as an answer to desperate prayers of men for the power of God.
The first thing that took place before the fire ever fell on Azusa, was a united season of fasting and prayer.
On April 6, 1906, William Seymour and his small group of believers began a ten-day fast to pray for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Three days into the fast, the fire of the Holy Ghost fell upon them!
On the night of April 9, 1906, as they were waiting upon the Lord, suddenly, as though hit by a bolt of lightning, the people in the room were knocked from their chairs to the floor.
Many of them began to speak in tongues and shout out loud praising God. As word spread quickly throughout Los Angeles of the phenomena, by the next night, the house where they were meeting was filled with crowds that overflowed into the streets. As Seymour preached, people in the street would fall under the power of the Spirit and begin speaking in tongues.
For three days straight, the meetings continued day and night without any interruption. The crowds thronged the house with such intensity that the front porch collapsed, though no one was hurt.
As hungry seekers from every race, culture, and denominational background came to discover more of God, Seymour was forced to find a bigger building to accommodate the ever-growing crowds. On April 14, they moved to an old building on 312 Azusa Street where Seymour began hosting three services a day, seven days a week. The building was always full and many people experienced amazing testimonies of miracles and healings.

Today, this revival is considered by historians to be the primary catalyst for the spread of Pentecostalism in the 20th century.
The ten day fasting and prayers embarked on by Seymour and his people drew such fire from Heaven’ that attracted multitudes and continues to impact the world today.

When Jesus paid the price of 40 days of fasting and praying at the beginning of His earthly ministry, it resulted in the glorious manifestation of the Spirit that drew multitudes to Him.

Luke 4:14 says He “returned in the power of the Spirit” and His fame spread abroad.’

We all need the fire of the Spirit to announce us to the world.
The Anointing is the empowering of the Spirit of God that results in supernatural accomplishments. It is the mighty manifestations of the Holy Spirit in a man’s life that produces extraordinary results.
To be outstanding in this world, we certainly need the anointing at work in our lives.
We must understand that it is God’s plan in this end-time for His glory to be seen upon us. In spite of the growing gloominess and gross darkness in the world, God is raising a body of believers who will shine as lights and gloriously manifest His power.
However, this will only happen when we pay the price of adequate spiritual preparation.. Every sudden manifestation of glory is usually a product of long term preparation in prayers.
The people that God has used to spark revival in history have often been men of extraordinary seriousness of purpose who fervently sought God for power.
Fasting and praying was always a key habit of these great men and women.
Likewise for us to see the eruption of God’s power that will distinguish us in our generation, we need to fervently seek God until His glory comes upon us.
Therefore, let us be deliberate as we seek God in this season of fasting. Let us determine to contact fire from Heaven that will birth revival in our lives and definitely announce us to our world.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the great and amazing manifestations of Your power in my life. As I engage in fasting and praying and diligent study of Your Word in this season, I thank You for doing such great exploits through me that will announce me to my world in Jesus Name.
