FEBRUARY 27, STARVE YOUR FEAR, FEED YOUR FAITH!

Isaiah 41:10 ‘‘Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.’

DAILY READING ; Mark 11:1-14; 1 Kings 1; Hosea 4:11b-5:4

Eric Alexander began climbing mountains through his Church youth group when he was a teenager.
Over the years, he became an experienced mountaineer who successfully climbed most of the highest mountains in the world. He also led expeditions throughout Europe, North America, South America, the Himalayas and other mountainous regions of the globe.
However, in 2000, he had an experience that shook him up and almost ended his mountain climbing career.
In preparation to climb Mount Everest, Eric went to train in the Himalayas and climbed Mount Ama Dablam. But during the climb, he suffered a terrible fall of about 150 feet. Luckily, he didn’t break any bones. But he developed pulmonary edema, which could have led to death and he had to be air-lifted off the mountain in an emergency.
After this, Alexander struggled with a lot of fear and anxiety and didn’t want to climb Mount Everest anymore. He was further discouraged when soon afterwards, a rock-climbing friend of his, died in a snowboarding accident. But Alexander decided not to be paralyzed by the fear but rather chose to pray and trust in God’s Word. Strengthened by faith, he went ahead with his plan to join the team that was about to climb Mountain Everest. This team was unique because they were about to record a lot of first achievements. The group included the first blind man, the oldest man, the first father and son team, the biggest camera and the biggest team to ever summit Mount Everest.
Many people said they couldn’t do it, but on May 25, 2001, Eric Alexander and his special team of 19 people made history when they climbed Mt. Everest, the world’s highest mountain at 29,035 feet. By God’s grace, Eric’s team achieved one of the most successful team climbs in history.
If Eric had given in to fear, he would have missed the international recognition, awards and accolades that followed his team’s historical climb of Mount Everest.
Eric Alexander’s story is captured in his book ‘The Summit’. In it he shares his adventures in the mountains and how those journeys have helped to strengthen his faith in God.

If you want to live your life with your potential maximized to the fullest, you must learn to starve your fear and feed your faith.
Even if everything seems to be going wrong, keep trusting God and keep going forward.
If you’re going to see God move supernaturally and open doors miraculously, you can’t afford to let fear and setbacks stop you. You may get knocked down but don’t get knocked out. Keep moving because when the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
Many people are sitting on the sidelines of life, nursing their wounds after a fall and refusing to move forward because of fear. As a result they never get to experience the greater things awaiting them in their journey.
As believers, we have a victorious destiny in Christ: We may be challenged, but we are not permitted to be defeated.
Any time, you experience a setback, simply learn what didn’t work out and then keep pressing forward with what is working.
God has a plan and purpose He is executing in your life and you must remain tenacious in faith to see the glorious manifestation.
Therefore don’t give in to fear or discouragement no matter how tough the journey may get. Rather keep giving glory to God and trust that Christ will cause you to triumph always (2 Corinthians 2:14). Indeed when you turn your worry into worship, God will turn your battles into blessings.
Today, no matter how contrary things may look, understand that you have come too far to lose this race. Therefore keep pressing forward because there is a joy set before you. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Surely, it is only a matter of time before you arrive at your preordained destination of victory and glory.

PRAYER: Father, please help me to keep pressing forward, even when things seem difficult.. Thank You Lord for granting me the grace to diligently study Your Word so that faith can arise in my heart to keep standing strong until my miracles come in Jesus Name.

FEBRUARY 26; JOY COMES IN THE MORNING!

Psalm 30:5 ‘Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.’

DAILY READING ; Mark 10:32-52; 2 Samuel 24; Hosea 4:1-11a

Starfish, or sea stars, are sea creatures which are known for their arms that create a shape like a star. Despite their misleading name, starfish are not actually fish, they belong to a group of species called invertebrates.
Starfish cannot swim, but they are very good at crawling.
Their limited movement makes them an easy prey for predators such as certain fish species, sharks etc. To help protect themselves, star fish have evolved several effective defense mechanisms. As well as their tough, prickly, armor-like skin, some have striking colours that camouflage them amongst plants and coral, or scare off potential attackers.
The most amazing thing about star fish is that it has the tendency to multiply itself when cut up. If under attack, some starfish will even shed an arm to escape the predator and then regrow the lost or damaged limbs! Any part of a starfish that is severed, a new one will grow in its place. Anytime a starfish is cut up, any piece that contains a part of the central disc will develop into a new starfish.
Starfish has the remarkable capacity to regenerate the whole body from one severed limb. So if one starfish is cut up into five parts, every part will regrow into a new fully developed star fish, so that in the place of one starfish you now have five starfishes.
Anyone who tries to destroy or cut up a starfish will find to their dismay, that rather than destroy the starfish, they actually help them to multiply.

This can be likened to what happens to children of God, when the enemy tries to cut them down.
Sometimes it can seem as if God’s people pass through all kinds of persecutions, troubles, trials and tribulations.
But no matter how hard, the enemy tries, instead of diminishing God’s people, the persecution only help Christians to thrive and grow stronger.
What sometimes looks like difficulties or hardships can actually become fertilizers that help us to multiply.
When Pharaoh tried to destroy the children of Israel through oppression, the more he persecuted them the more they multiplied until they filled the land.

In Acts chapter 8, when strong persecution came against the Church and they were scattered from Jerusalem, instead of weakening Christianity, the attack caused the disciples to spread to other cities, preaching and winning more souls as they want.
Indeed persecution can sometimes prove to be a necessary fodder for our growth. This is why the Bible tells us to count it all joy when we pass through fiery trials.
Apostle Paul endured a great deal of hardship and persecution for his faith, yet he had a positive outlook. He knew that despite the outward difficulties, God was using it all to increase him. In Romans 8:28, he said, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”

It doesn’t matter how people, situations or circumstances may have tried to push you back, it will all end up propelling you forward to greater heights. The disappointments will turn around to become divine appointments and open up for you unexpected doors of
blessings.
Indeed though ‘Weeping may endure for a night, surely joy comes in the morning.’[Psalm 30:5].

Believe today, that no matter how deep or dark the night may have been, it is time for you to arise and shine for your light has come!
As the Church of Christ, surely, it is time for us to shout for joy because God who is faithful and never fails has given us the victory over those trying to cut us down. God has used the adversities for our advancement. He has turned our mourning into dancing, and our sorrow into joy.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the grace to keep rising higher despite the people and things that attempt to bring me down. By Your Grace I shall always be the head and never the tail in Jesus Name..

FEBRUARY 25; WHEN GOD CASTS HIS VOTE!

Romans 8:31 ‘What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?’

DAILY READING; Mark 10:1-31; 2 Samuel 23; Hosea 3

In September 394 AD, a battle took place that was a great victory for Christianity over paganism in Rome.
This battle was very important because it decided the course of Western civilization. It was a battle in which traditional Roman paganism sought to defeat and overcome Christianity, but in the effort, was itself crushed forever.
At that time Rome was divided into Eastern and Western Empires. In the Western empire, augustus Eugenius had usurped power and sought to establish paganism and abolish the Christian religion.
This enraged Theodosius the Great, the ruler of the Eastern Roman Empire, who was a devout Christian. This situation led to ‘The Battle of the Frigidus River’ which took place in Slovenia’s Vipava Valley.
Before the battle, Eugenius placed the pagan statue of Jupiter on the edge of the battlefield, and applied images of Hercules on the army banners. He relied on his gods for support in battle.
On the first day of battle, Eugenius appeared to have the upper hand and it seemed certain that his army would have the victory. That night he sent out soldiers to go behind Theodosius’s forces, and ambush them.
That night was sleepless for Theodosius as he fell upon the ground and prayed with tears to God for divine intervention.
God instantly answered him as miracles began to happen. The first miracle was the good news he received that morning as the soldiers sent to ambush his army came and surrendered to Theodosius.
As the battle began that day, there arose a fierce tempest such as had never before been recorded. The strong wind blew clouds of dust into the faces of the pagan troops and turned back their arrows, javelins and darts to hit those who had cast them. The wind wrenched their shields from their hands, exposing them in a defenseless condition to the weapons of the Christian army.
Buffeted by the winds, the pagan army eventually scattered and Theodosius gained the decisive victory.
This wind was literally seen as an act of God in favor of the Christians versus the pagans.
His victory at the Battle of Frigidus River allowed Theodosius to unify the Roman Empire under a single empire for what would be the last time. He established Christianity as the official state religion of Rome and this enabled Christianity to gain strong ground and become a dominant religion of the civilized world.

Several of the major turning points in the history of Christianity were determined by God’s intervention. Through divine backing, Christianity has continued to spread across the world today despite fierce oppositions. In any contention God’s vote is cast in the favor of His Church which He has promised to build and the gates of hell shall never prevail against it.
The Bible reveals that God has the ability to exercise total power and total control of nations and individuals. Isaiah 40:15, 22–23 says “Behold, the nations are as a drop in a bucket, and are counted as the small dust on the balance; look, He lifts up the isles as a very little thing…. It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. He brings the princes to nothing; He makes the judges of the earth useless”.
No matter what goes in our nations, as long as we commit matters into God’s hands we can be sure of His divine intervention. Like a puppet master, God works behind the scenes, divinely orchestrating outcomes. Like a chess master, God moves kings, queens, cardinals and pawns at will, according to His purpose.
All we need to win in life is God’s endorsement. When we have divine backing, we don’t need to bother about human barking.
When you are God’s candidate for any office, victory will be sure.
In Numbers 17, when there was a contention over the office of the high priest, the leader of each tribe of Israel presented his rod or staff to the tent of meeting. When God indicated His own candidate by causing Aaron’s rod to bud and blossom, it became the end of all discussion.
When you have divine endorsement all contentions are rendered irrelevant. When God qualifies you, no one can disqualify you.
Indeed one with God is majority. When God appoints a time to change your story, no man has the capacity to disappoint it. Any Pharaoh that tries to resist your journey, will be drowned in the red sea. Surely, as God arises for us, every enemy will be scattered.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for doing what only You can do. Today, I thank You for amazing divine intervention and change of story. In every situation, Let only Your will be done in my life and in the affairs of my nation in Jesus Name.

FEBRUARY 24: RISING ABOVE RESISTANCE!

Psalms 66:3 “Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.”

DAILY READING; Mark 9:2-50; 2 Samuel 22; Hosea 2:2-23

In 1919, world leaders met in Paris for a Peace Conference to end World War I. American President Woodrow Wilson attended this conference armed with his visionary “14 Points” strategy for achieving world peace.
But parts of Wilson’s points were adamantly opposed by some world leaders.
While Wilson was trying to make progress and push across his points, right in the middle of the most important negotiations of his life, was precisely when he fell ill.
On the night of April 3, 1919, President Woodrow Wilson began to suffer from a violent cough. His condition quickly worsened to the point that he was unable to move and confined to his bed for five days battling a 103-degree fever and racking coughs.
Medical examination soon revealed that he had contracted the deadly Spanish flu.
The Spanish flu was an influenza which was killing many people as it rampaged around the world at that time. It eventually killed at least twenty million people. As the president’s life hung in the balance and it appeared he may not survive, he placed his hope in God.
Woodrow Wilson was one of the most devout of America’s Presidents. His Christianity was marked by a constant and regular prayer life. He read his Bible consistently every day, meditated on what he read, and sought to put into action the teachings of the Scripture in his decisions as a president.
His deep faith in God helped him to overcome
the devastating attack of the Spanish flu and eventually rejoin the Paris negotiations.
Apart from such health challenges that he faced while in office, President Wilson also had to deal with great oppositions from diverse quarters. But through a foundation of faith in God he was able to stand strong.
President Wilson was quoted as saying : “If I were not a Christian I think I should go mad, but my faith in God holds me to the belief that He is in some way working out His own plans through human perversities and mistakes.”

No matter, how high a man rises, he can easily fall, if there is no spiritual strength undergirding him.
It is a risk to aspire to great heights of success, if our spiritual foundation is shallow.
This is because it takes inner spiritual strength to thrive in the face of oppositions and resist the attacks from the enemies of our progress.
To access greater open doors, we must be ready to battle the many adversaries that try to contest our new level.
We must therefore constantly ensure we are spiritually fortified through a strong connection to God.
We cannot be thinking of rising to great heights in life, without first laying a strong and deep spiritual foundation of faith. The depth of our foundation is what will determine the height we can attain.
The truth is that we live in a world where negative forces constantly try to resist our upward movement and progress.
Therefore we need power both to overcome these oppositions and to keep rising higher.
Without such spiritual fortification, one attack of misfortune or sickness, can wipe out everything a man had spent all his lifetime laboring to build.
Therefore for our lives to be truly unshakable, we must be spiritually built up through a lifestyle of diligent study of the Word, prayers and fellowship with the Spirit..
If we are not connecting with Heaven, it will be impossible for us to withstand in times of trials and tribulations.
But when our foundation is built upon the solid rock of Christ, though the storm, rain and winds may come, we will survive them all and still stand strong.
Our depth in God guarantees our rise to great heights in life. Through God’s great power the forces that try to pull us down shall be subdued. .
Psalm 66:3 says “Through the greatness of thy power shall thy enemy submit themselves unto thee.”
Indeed God has armed us for victory over our adversaries. Therefore never be intimidated by overwhelming situations. Always remember that the forces for you are greater than the forces against you.
Through the greater One that lives in you, surely, you will always be more than a conqueror in every situation.

PRAYER: Lord, Please grant me a renewed desire for Your Word, prayer and praise, so that I can always overcome every resistance and be empowered to soar to the great heights You have ordained for me in Jesus Name.

FEBRUARY 23; YOU SHALL LEND TO NATIONS!

Deuteronomy 28: 12-13, “The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: ..if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them”

DAILY READING; Mark 8:22-9:1; 2 Samuel 20-21; Hosea 1:1-2:1

Jay Cooke was the first major investment banker in the United States and one of the richest men of the 19th century.
The secret of his success was encountered early in life, when he read a little book on Christian giving. From what he learnt, he resolved to take Jacob’s pledge: “Of all that thou givest me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.” (Genesis 28:22).
This decision to faithfully pay tithes began to open amazing doors of success for Jay Cooke.
From being a 17 years old clerk for a banking firm in Philadelphia, he rapidly rose in ranks. By the time he was 21 years old, he had become a partner in the firm.
Few years after, Cooke left the firm and opened his own private banking house named Jay Cooke & Company in Philadelphia. He began paying tithe of his entire business into an account he titled O. P. J. (Old Patriarch Jacob).
This was in line with his decision to follow Jacob’s Biblical principle of tithing.
Jay Cooke also gave generously vast sums of money to the spread of the Gospel. .
When people inquired of him how he could afford to make such large contributions, he would say: “It doesn’t cost me anything; it is the Lord’s money I give.”
Cooke’s business prospered greatly to the extent that some of the largest financial transactions of the country were entrusted to his firm.
When the American Civil War began in 1861, the state of Pennsylvania borrowed from Jay Cooke’s firm $3 million (equivalent of $90 million today) to fund its war efforts.
Severally the government came to him for help and between February and July 1865, he disposed a total of $830 million to the government which enabled them to pay soldiers during the final months of the war.
Not only was Jay Cooke a financial mogul, he was also a dedicated Christian. On Sunday evenings, after spending the day in church, he taught a bible class from 7:30 to 9 pm in his home and also led Bible studies. He was also known for distributing religious pamphlets and materials to build up people’s faith.
During his lifetime, he provided resources for the construction of churches and gave generously to many Christian organizations and schools.

Through God’s abundant blessings, Jay Cooke, was able to lend money to his nation. He fulfilled the scripture that says ‘thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.’[Deuteronomy 28:12].

In God’s agenda, we have been appointed to be the lender and not the borrower, the head and not the tail.
It is God’s purpose for us to become powerful forces and positive influencers in the affairs of our nations .
However to see this happen there are principles that must be followed. There are keys that must be applied to see the greater open doors destined for us.
Following divine principles is what makes you a principal person on the earth. Making God the center of your life will ultimately make you a central figure in the affairs of men.
When Jacob fled from Esau and was on his way to start a new life, he made a covenant to serve God with his life and income. As Jacob kept to this covenant, God greatly blessed him and established him as a trans-generational influence on earth..
The truth is that life does not get better by chance; it gets better by the choices we make.
When we connect to God’s financial covenant, we will prosper even in the desert. Despite any harsh economic climate, we will see doors open miraculously to establish us as major players in our field and lenders to nations.
Through the covenant of investing into God’s kingdom, we stay connected to a supply line that never runs dry because the covenant is eternally stronger than any condition on earth.
Certainly, as we seek God with all our heart and dedicate ourselves to the expansion of His Kingdom, the Lord will cause doors of breakthrough to open up for us, crooked places shall be made straight and the hidden riches of secret places shall be given to us in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for enabling me to serve You diligently and become dedicated to the promotion of Your Kingdom so that I can experience greater open doors. I know that even right now You are already at work in my life and indeed blessing me beyond measure in Jesus Name. .

FEBRUARY 22; ALL THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD!

Psalm 119; 104-105 ‘Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.’

DAILY READING; Mark 8:1-21; 2 Samuel 19; Daniel 12

Shandra Woworuntu was a young Christian girl in Indonesia who wanted to succeed early in life. She was 25 years old when she lost her job as a financial analyst due to economic downturn in her country. Desperate for greener pastures, she began to search internationally for a job. When Shandra found a six-month seasonal job in Chicago’s hotel industry, she was excited and believed it was an open door to a brighter future. However, she made the mistake of not really praying about this ‘open door’.
After paying $3,000 to the job agency recruiters, she boarded a plane and arrived at JFK International Airport in New York. She was eager to head to Chicago and start the job she had been promised. But it all turned out to be a big lie.
The so called job agency recruiters were actually human traffickers. They lured Shandra to a location where her passport was seized and her freedom was taken from her. She was locked up in a brothel and told the new job she was to begin was prostitution.
Shandra was totally in shock and couldn’t believe what was happening. While imprisoned in this horrible place, Shandra, began crying out to God for deliverance.
One day, after praying, Shandra felt divinely led to go to the bathroom, and realized it was possible for her to climb through the window and escape.
Though she was on the second floor, she jumped and landed safely on the street below.
Shandra ran far away from the brothel. Alone on the streets of New York she ended up homeless.
In a park, she met a good Samaritan whom she believed God sent as an angel to rescue her. This man connected her to the police, who worked to bring her exploiters to justice.
In 2009, Shandra was granted permanent residency in the US and became a U.S. citizen. As a survivor of human trafficking Shandra devoted her time to helping other survivors.
On 20 March 2014, Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey appointed Shandra to be a Commission of Human Trafficking in his state. On 16 December 2015, President Obama appointed her as one of 11 members of the U.S. Advisory Council on Human Trafficking.
Today, Shandra Woworuntu is recognized as one of the most influential Asian Americans who are making great impacts globally.

The truth is that some open doors are traps in disguise.
Life is full of ways that seem right at first, but only end up as paths of death. To avoid them we need to be divinely guided and involve God in all our endeavors.
In Genesis 13:10-11, when Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere, and was as beautiful as the garden of Eden, he chose to go there. But unknown to him, death and destruction awaited in the land and Lot ended losing his wife and virtually all he owned.
Truly, not all that glitters is gold, and not all open doors are from God.
We should always make a prayer of inquiry before embracing any opportunity. Today, many people have been trapped by the enemy through the glitter of certain business propositions, marriage proposals, job opportunities, etc.
Especially in this end-times, we are faced with such high level deception that even the elect may be deceived. It is a time when the enemy will manifest ‘lying wonders’ and even appear as an angel of light.
This means we really need to be careful concerning the steps we take and opportunities we accept.
With the gross darkness in the world today, our security lies in walking by the light of God’s Word.
As we acknowledge the Lord in all our ways, He will direct our paths to the open doors He has destined for us..
We must always be conscious that we are in a warfare, with an enemy who is the most subtle of all the beasts and seeks for every opportunity to deceive.
When God wants to give us our Isaac, the enemy will often quickly present an
Ishmael. To make the right choice we must always seek the Lord’s will.
Through His death and resurrection Jesus has paid the price for us to escape deceptive traps and be divinely guided in life. He took the punishment for our going astray and paid the price for all our iniquity
Isaiah 53:6 says ‘All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.’

Because of the price Jesus paid at Calvary, as many as are the sons of God can now be led by the Spirit of God.
As we submit to the leadings of The Spirit, surely, He will deliver us from the pitfalls on life’s pathway and guide us to our beautiful and glorious destiny.

PRAYER: Lord, please enable me by Your grace to always escape every trap of the enemy, as I press forward on this race of destiny, by Your grace I will always emerge victorious in Jesus Name.

FEBRUARY 21; WHOSE REPORT WILL YOU BELIEVE?

Psalm 118:8 ‘It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.

DAILY READING; Mark 7:14-37; Samuel 18; Daniel 11:21-45

For 50 years, a stunning masterpiece painted by the legendary artist Van Gogh, was ignored and kept hidden in an attic..
Considering that Van Gogh’s paintings are greatly sought after, it is incredible that an owner of such valuable artwork could keep it in obscurity for so long. But the reason was because he thought it was worthless.
This painting was bought by a Norwegian industrialist named Christian Nicolai Mustad, in 1908.
Few years later, when Mustad wanted an affirmation of the painting’s originality
he decided to show it to a fellow business man named Auguste Pellerin. At that time, Auguste Pellerin was the owner of Astra Margarine in Norway and was Mustad’s business rival and direct competitor, but he was also a respected art collector, considered to be an authority on artworks.
When Mustad showed him the painting, Auguste Pellerin, took one look at it and said it was a fake and not a painting of Van Gogh.
Mustad accepted the opinion of Pellerin and became highly disappointed. He took the painting off his wall and banished it to the attic.
The painting remained in the attic for the next fifty years until Mustad died in 1970. The painting was then auctioned off and over the next four decades, it remained unrecognized until 2012, when an art expert applied technology to determine its authenticity. He used a computer to count the thread separations in the painting’s canvas and discovered that it had been cut from the same canvas as another work of Van Gogh.
In addition, the Van Gogh Museum found reference to the particular artwork in a letter written by Van Gogh to his brother.
The discovery of this hidden artwork thrilled and astonished the art world. When it was unveiled by the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, experts called the work “absolutely sensational”. It was valued at £30m.
Interestingly ,this was the same painting that Nicolai Mustad had thought o be worthless because he depended on another person’s opinion, not knowing he had owned an original Van Gogh all along.

We cannot always depend on the opinion of others. It is better to find out the truth for yourself and be certain of what you believe.
If you accept the negative opinion of the world you will think what is of great value is worthless.
Instead of concluding based on what men have said concerning our situation, it is wisdom to seek God’s superior opinion from His Word.
Don’t go and hide your potentials because someone downplayed its value. Don’t give up on the ideas and visions God has given you just because experts says it is not practicable.
Statistics and situation report may say you can never achieve your goals, but that is only man’s opinion. Have you sought the report of the One who created the universe, hung the earth on nothing and flung the stars into space ? Have you sought the report of the ocean-divider who created a path through the red sea and makes a way where there seems to be no way?

Certainly it is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man [Psalm 118:8].
In every situation we are to seek out God’s original opinion concerning us. His Word is infallible. His opinion can never be disputed, His verdict can never be overturned. He says what He means and means what He says. His Word is settled in Heaven forever. Men’s opinion is subject to change but God’s Word abides forever.
The doctors may have given their opinion , but as a covenant child of God you have access to the great Physician.
That negative health report, from highly respected doctors in their field, is nothing in the eyes of the One who has wonderfully and fearfully made you.
While the ‘experts’ may be saying there is no solution to the health challenge, God’s Word says you are healed by the stripes of Jesus.
The simplicity of the Gospel is what confuses the experts. But God has used the simple things of the world to confound the wise.
By simply building up your faith through focus on God’s Word, you can overcome any situation no matter how complex or complicated.
As long as you believe, nothing shall be impossible to you.
Your family may have a history of poverty, sickness, untimely death, failure, delayed marriages, afflictions etc, but whose report will you believe?
God calls you blessed, prosperous, a light of the world, a city set on a hill, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.
Rather than depend on the opinion of men, let us assume spiritual responsibility and search out God’s opinion from His Word. Jehovah alone has the final say over your life. When He opens a door before you, no man can shut it. When He lifts you up, no man can bring you down.
Certainly, when we can see our true worth and value through God’s eyes, we will never be moved by the opinions of men.

PRAYER; Lord, I thank You for You are always faithful. No matter the negative opinion I may be faced with today, I know that You are re-writing my story. I thank You for the grace to stay in faith until I see the eventual manifestation of Your Word in my life in Jesus Name.

FEBRUARY 20; PROGRESS AGAINST ALL ODDS.

Ezekiel 36:34 -35 “The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass by. 35So they will say, ‘This land that was desolate has become like the garden of Eden; and the wasted, desolate, and ruined cities are now fortified and inhabited.’”.

DAILY READING • Mark 7:1-13; 2 Samuel 17; Daniel 11:1-19

In the 1880’s, the Biblical land of Israel had turned into a desolate wilderness, while the Jews remained in exile. It looked nothing like the land that the Lord has called “the land flowing with milk and honey,” a “goodly land.” .
But despite the desolation of the land,, at God’s appointed time, Jews in the different nations of their exile, became united in their efforts to return back to their ancient homeland. They were desirous to see the manifestation of God’s promise of it becoming a fruitful and goodly land.
Many Jews played different key roles that resulted in the birth of the modern Israel that we see today.
One of the people who financed the return of the early Jewish immigrants was Edmond de Rothschild who was a member of the Rothschild banking family, known for their great wealth and international influence. He was a Zionist who is best known for supporting massive land purchases and underwriting Jewish settlements in Palestine and Israel.
Due to outbreak of persecutions against Jews in different nations, starting from the early 1880s, over 25,000 immigrants arrived in Israel, from Russia, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Romania, Yemen etc.
But these returnees faced a harsh land that was producing either nothing or thistles and thorns.
Edmond de Rothschild’s philanthropy funded Jewish settlements and encouraged the development of agriculture and industry. ‘ Edmond stimulated the economic development of the settlements by investing in new crops, such as wine, grapefruit and avocado, and industrial enterprises such as silk production. Edmond’s large donations lent significant support to the Zionist movement during its early years, which helped lead to the establishment of the State of Israel.
Also the realization of the Jewish dream of nationhood was due to the strong determination of those early Jewish pioneers who refused to give up even when they met a land that was mostly a desert. The hills of Judea and Galilee abounded in stones. But these pioneers gathered out the stones and collected them into heaps. They built the soil, literally from rock bottom and began to turn it back to life and fertility, inch by inch. They terraced the hills, built up the topsoil, and found beneath the lifeless soil springs of water and deep wells, which they tapped and used to irrigate the land.
Gradually, the valley of dry bones, the arid land and the stony hills, began to turn into a fruitful land.
Vegetable gardens of every kind and variety, citrus groves, luscious grain fields, and flower gardens began to spring up where there had been no life for centuries.
Through the efforts of the Jews who believed God’s promise of restoration, today, in fulfillment of Isaiah 35:1, Israel the desert is blossoming “as the rose”. Israel exports food and flowers to many nations. It is one of only six countries in the world that has a surplus food supply.

The fruitfulness of modern Israel is fulfillment of Ezekiel 36:34, 35 which says “The desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through it. They will say ‘This land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden’”.

Faith in God, drove Jews from different walks of life to work together towards an impossible dream of turning a desert into a fruitful land.
It is human nature to give up when faced with harsh and impossible conditions. But those who persevere with hope in God, will eventually find a way where there seemed to be no way.
Faith can make you overcome the impossible.
We must learn to stand on the solid rock of God’s Word, even if every other ground is sinking.
Indeed it is God’s plan to open greater doors in our lives this year. But to be correctly positioned to take delivery of this promise, we must disregard contrary situations around us.
Whatever may be happening in the world, whatever may be reported in the News, refuse to be moved and continue to focus on God’s promises.
A prophecy you don’t believe will not find expression in your life because every prophecy delivers primarily by faith. It is when you believe, that there will be a performance. (Luke 1:45).
Truly, we need patience to obtain God’s promises. Once you have known what God has called you to do and put your hands to the plough, you must be prepared to remain persistent and persevere despite the great odds you may face.
Though outward facts and circumstances may be telling you that you can never achieve your desired goal because the conditions are harsh, refuse the voice of fear and listen only to the voice of faith through diligent study of God’s Word.
With firm faith in God there is no challenge you cannot overcome. Certainly, no force can stop God’s purpose in our lives, when the appointed time for it comes.
Jesus has made every provision for us to enjoy a victorious life. So no matter how barren the land may seem now, ultimately we are headed for a bountiful and fruitful season. What looks like a desolate wilderness now is about to become like the garden of Eden.
As we abide in faith, surely, our path will only keep shining more and more every day, until we come into the fullness of God’s glorious destination for us this year.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the great and mighty things You have in store for me. Please enable me to pay the price of spiritual preparation so that I can always stand in faith until I see the manifestation of Your promises in Jesus’ Name.

FEBRUARY 19; GOD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU!

2 Chronicles 20:17 ‘Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem:’

DAILY READING; Mark 6:30-56; 2 Samuel 16; Daniel 10:1-21

On 2 August 1990, Iraq invaded the neighbouring State of Kuwait and fully occupied the country within two days. Iraq then immediately proceeded with an outright annexation of Kuwaiti’s sovereign territory.
Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait was immediately met with international condemnation. Spearheaded by the United States, the Gulf War, was waged by a 35-country military coalition against Iraq..
Israel was not a part of this coalition but the Iraqi government tried hard to draw Israel into the conflict by launching rockets against Israeli cities. This was an attempt by Saddam Hussein to try to transform what he himself had started as an Arab-Arab conflict into an Arab-Israeli conflict.
But Israel refused to fall into the trap and refused to fight back or retaliate against Iraq.
But God fought for Israel and protected them from Saddam Hussein’s attack.
Amazingly, all the numerous missiles fired by Iraq into Israel, missed their marks, and there was not a single Israeli death. In very inexplicable ways God shielded the Jews from harm. Multiple Iraqi missiles missed their intended targets in Israel and rather landed in the Mediterranean Sea. Two of the missiles launched by Iraq mysteriously disappeared and has never been found. Another missile struck a garbage dump and failed to explode. One missile landed just several feet away from a gas station, which could have caused devastation, but incredibly it also did not explode. Another missile was thrown off course by some inexplicable strong winds. There were other missiles that did hit and did actually explode. One of these exploded between two buildings and completely destroyed both of them, but somehow not a single soul was lost in this strike.
Saddam Hussein failed in his attempt to implicate Israel and was eventually defeated and Kuwait was liberated on 28 February 1991.

Israel as a nation enjoys divine intervention and protection because of God’s commitment to His covenant with their fathers. Indeed God is a covenant keeping God. When we are in covenant with Him, He shields and protects us.
In these end times, it is vital for every believer to know we have a covenant of divine protection.
As a covenant child, your case is different; ‘a thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand ta your right hand yet it will not come near you..’

God has promised that no evil shall befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling. It doesn’t matter how many times the enemy fires his missiles, God is committed to protecting you. However, one very important truth we must understand is that in every covenant, we have a part to play and God has His part. Psalm 91:1-2, begins with our part: “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”

Verses 3-4 reveal God’s part: “ Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust’.

Therefore to enjoy God’s divine deliverance we must dwell in the secret place of the Most High, which is abiding in God’s Presence. And key to accessing His Presence is praise. Indeed the more we praise God, the more we are surrounded by His Presence and the more we become untouchable to every evil. It doesn’t matter who decides to gather against you, they will surely fall for your sake.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the covenant of divine protection which exempts from every plague in the world. Please grant me the grace to praise You at all times, so as to maintain Your Presence always around me in Jesus Name. .

FEBRUARY 18; FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH.

1Timothy 6:12 ‘Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.’

DAILY READUNG; Mark 6:1-29; 2 Samuel 15; Daniel 9

Christians trying to escape religious persecution in Britain founded the American colonies in the 17th and early 18th centuries. As these colonies began to thrive, the British government sought to gain greater control over them. The colonies felt they were treated unfairly by the British parliament and King George III of Great Britain.
Things came to a head when the British Parliament placed harsh new taxes on them.
The American people began to protest against these British taxes and laws. When the matter could not be resolved, on April 19, 1775, the Revolutionary War began between the American forces and the British.
The chances of American colonies winning this war were slim because they were fighting against the biggest empire in the world at the time! Nevertheless, on July 4, 1776, the Founding Fathers of America formally signed the declaration of independence that freed them from the British rule. Copies of this document was sent to every corner of the new nation.
However despite this Declaration of Independence , the British remained unwilling to let them go. But the American nation were determined to gain their freedom, and continued to fight until their independence fully became a reality in 1781, when under the leadership of General George Washington, the American forces finally defeated the British military.
The Treaty of Paris was signed September 3, 1783, formally ending the war and confirming America’s complete independence and separation from the British Empire.

We can make ‘declarations of independence’ to break away from oppression and experience a better future, but it will only become a reality when we are willing to fight for it.
To see definite positive changes in our lives we must
engage in strategic spiritual battles because the enemy will not let you go easily.
It takes spiritual violence to take your inheritance by force.
Our visions of the future are like spiritual open doors, but there are often many adversaries to contend with before we can gain access.
Therefore this year, let us be willing to fight on our knees to take possession of the greater open doors awaiting us. Let us determine to enforce our liberty from the enemy’s oppression in our finances, our health, our families, relationships and every other area of our lives.
Jesus has made every spiritual provision for us to enjoy a victorious life. Through His Blood, He has purchased for us a redemptive package that guarantees us all that pertains to life and godliness.
Therefore do not accept anything that is contrary to your divine heritage in Christ. Whatever situation you may be faced with today, refuse to bow to the opposition. Stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has set you free and fight the good fight of faith.
You will win the fight by continually declaring your liberty and maintaining your confession of faith in God’s Word, even in the face of staggering oppositions.
Understand that as a covenant child of God, no one can stop your progress When you strongly connect to God and His power, nothing can stand in the way of your advancement.
Certainly, when God is for us, nothing and no one can be against us. This is why we need to accept the spiritual responsibility of daily seeking a stronger connection to God. We need to invest quality time in prayer, worship, fasting, study of the Word and sacrificial giving.
Success in life and ministry is not an issue of chance, but of choice. It is not a thing you wait for; it is a thing you work at.We will only possess what we are willing to pursue.
As we diligently seek God, surely, we will experience total freedom from every oppression and enjoy divine open doors in every aspect.

PRAYER;
Father, I thank You for the speedy fulfillment of Your Word in my life this year. By the power in the Blood of Jesus every yoke of stagnancy is broken off my life and I am experiencing true liberty in Jesus Name.
