MARCH 9; YOUR STEPS ARE BEING ORDERED!

Deuteronomy 31:8 ‘And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.’

DAILY READING: – Mark 16; 1 Kings 12:1-31; Hosea 14

Cindy Lavonne Morgan is a contemporary Christian musician and songwriter, who has won many awards including 13 Dove Awards.
In the course of her career she has seen miracles and remarkable divine interventions. One of these was what happened in the early days of her music career. In 1996, she arrived for a series of concerts in Los Angeles.
On an evening when she was to hold a concert at a Church, she unpacked her clothes and discovered her dress was terribly wrinkled.
One of her female assistants set out to find an iron. She met a member of the Church’s staff who graciously released the key to her home, and told her where she would find the ironing board.
When Cindy Morgan’s assistant got to the house, opened the door and entered, she was met by a horrible sight. She found that the woman’s teenage daughter was home alone with a loaded gun and was about to commit suicide. The arrival of Cindy Morgan’s assistant to the house had abruptly interrupted the young girl’s intention. Through quick thinking, prayers and the presence of God, she was able to talk the troubled teen into dropping the gun and returned her back to her mother.
The woman who had released the key to her home, realized that God in His infinite mercy had ordered the steps of Cindy’s assistant to ask her for an iron so as to save the life of her teenage daughter. In response to God’s miraculous intervention, Cindy Morgan said, ‘to rescue a life, He wrinkled a dress.’

Indeed what seemed like a setback turned out to become a divine set-up that saved a life.
Many times, the course of our lives are interrupted by God’s divine intervention as totally unexpected events happen that seems to disrupt our own plans.
If we are only walking by sight, we could become frustrated by the wrinkled clothes, cancelled flights, late appointments, delayed schedules, missed opportunities etc. But if we are walking by faith and sensitive to the Spirit, we will trust that God indeed works all things for the good of those who love Him.
What may seem to be random events could be divinely placed in our paths for a reason. This is why it is important to keep our hearts and minds open to the leading and promptings of the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 37:23 says that “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD..”

This means that as we abide in God’s will, we can trust that He is working behind the scenes, ordering our steps and coordinating His plans and purposes.
Certainly, we will live a more peaceful life when we learn to always trust and obey God, knowing that He knows where every road is leading.

Deuteronomy 31:8 says ‘And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.’

Rather than become disappointed or dismayed about life’s unexpected twists and turns, let us choose to praise God, and in everything give Him thanks.
You may not understand everything you are going through right now, but trust that God still has His hands upon your life. If it seems you are facing a closed door today, perhaps those doors were closed so that greater and better doors could be opened up for you.
Truly, when God is our shepherd we can be certain that He will eventually lead us to our green pastures. Therefore in every situation let us keep praising Him because all things are indeed working together for our good!

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for Your faithfulness in my life. I praise and bless You because even right now I know You are ordering my steps and guiding me to Your perfect plans and purposes for my life in Jesus Name.

MARCH 8; YOU ARE UNDER DIVINE COVER!

Zechariah 2:5 ‘For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.’

DAILY READING – Mark 15:21-47; 1 Kings 11; Hosea 13

Candy Carson is a New York Times bestselling author and wife of the famous neurosurgeon, Ben Carson.
In her book titled ‘A Doctor in the House: My Life with Ben Carson’ Candy recounts remarkable incidents of God’s divine protection in their lives.
One of such miracles occurred before they got married, while they were still dating and in College.
One day, during a late-night drive from Michigan back to Connecticut for college, Ben and Candy were very sleepy. Eventually Candy slept off and Ben who was driving, also fell asleep on the wheels.
Soon their car veered off the road, heading toward a deep ravine. At that moment, Ben woke up suddenly. He took his foot off the accelerator and tried to veer back toward the highway. Because of his overcorrection with the steering wheel, the car went into a crazy spin, going round and round like a top.
In those action-packed seconds, Ben Carson said his life flashed before his eyes and a panorama of experiences from early childhood to the present rolled across his mind. Because he had often heard people say that a slow-motion review of one’s life flashes through the mind just before they die, he thought he was experiencing a prelude to death.
Having lost control of the car, he released the wheel, his mind fully concentrating on being ready to die. With the car going at top speed, it should have flipped over, but a strange thing happened.
Abruptly the car stopped in the middle of the road and faced the right direction, with the engine still running. Hardly aware of what he was doing, Ben’s shaking hands slowly turned the wheel and pulled the car off the road. About a second later, an eighteen-wheeler transporter came barreling through on the same lane and would have crushed them had Ben Carson only been a second late in pulling off the road.
Ben and Candy could hardly believe they were still alive after such a close shave with death.
They kept praising God and thanking Him for the miraculous deliverance. They both knew that they had only survived that accident because of Gods protection and divine cover over them.

Every child of God has a covenant of divine protection through the Blood of Jesus.
In the Old Testament, when the angel of death passed through Egypt, the Israelites were protected by the blood of the lamb. If the blood of an animal on the doorpost could keep them safe, how much more does the Blood of the Son of the living God protect us today?
Because of the mark of the Blood of Jesus, we are exempted from evil occurrences, untimely death, sickness, poverty, and every other evil in the world.
Because of the Blood, there’s a hedge around you and your family. You have no idea how many things evil tried to come against you but was stopped because of the blood. That sickness, that trouble or accident should have taken your life but when the death angel saw the Blood mark on you, he knew he had no authority and so had to pass over.
Indeed the bloodline around us cannot be crossed over by the enemy.
Psalm 91 says that because we have made The Lord our refuge, no evil can come near us, nor any plague come near our dwelling.
The Blood continually surrounds us and speaks over our lives, ‘Touch not’ to every passing evil. Indeed the Blood is God’s protective wall of fire around us and our families.

In Zechariah 2:5 God says ‘For I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.’

In these perilous last days, the Blood of Jesus is our divine seal of protection. As we wake up every morning, we must ensure we are under the cover of the Blood through maintaining a spiritually fervent life. As we abide in constant prayers, study of the Word and praise, surely by the Blood, no weapon formed against us shall ever prosper.

PRAYER: Father I thank You for shielding me from every evil through the Blood of Jesus. Today, I receive the fullness of the benefits Christ purchased for me at Calvary by the Blood in Jesus Name.

MARCH 7; GOD WILL ANSWER YOU!

Philippians 4:6, (NIV) “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.’

DAILY READING • • Mark 15:1-20; 1 Kings 10; Hosea 11:12-12:14

Kelvin McDaniel is a missionary and author of the book ‘From Under the Bridge’.
Kelvin McDaniel has often told the story, with tears flowing down his face, of how he was miraculously delivered from death through the prayers of his parents.
As a young teenager, Kelvin rebelled against his Christian family and ran away from his home in Alabama. He travelled with some friends to New York City, where he lived a rough life. He had little money and would sometimes squat in other people’s apartments or live on the streets. But even in his rebellion, Kelvin always knew that his mother and father were continually praying for him. He was especially certain of this because of an amazing deliverance he experienced.
One November evening, Kelvin was walking through an alley when suddenly he was cornered by two strong men who attempted to rob him. One of them pinned him to the wall with a knife to his throat. At that moment Kelvin feared he was about to be murdered and end up as another New York crime statistic.
However, thousands of miles away, at that very moment, a preacher was visiting his mother.
Suddenly this preacher said, “God is showing me Kelvin’s life is in danger. We must pray now!”
As his mother and the preacher began interceding for him,
Kelvin witnessed a miracle. The robber who was holding the knife to his throat suddenly turned and punched his partner in the face with his fist. Kelvin said, “It was as though a spirit of confusion fell upon the robbers.” Screaming at his partner, the attacker dropped his knife on the ground. Seizing the opportunity, Kelvin sprinted full speed out of the alley and into the street without looking back.
During that special prayer in their home in Alabama, the preacher assured his mother that Kelvin would be protected and would return home. He also said that one day Kelvin would take the Gospel to the nations of the world.
Kelvin indeed returned home soon after and was amazed to learn about the preacher who had prayed for his deliverance at the very moment he was being attacked.
Years later there was also the fulfilment of the Word that Kelvin would become a minister of the Gospel.Today Kelvin McDaniel is a missionary evangelist, who ministers to crowds of thousands of people.
Kelvin believes that God protected him because his parents were obedient to persist in prayers, despite his rebellion, until the promises of God was fulfilled in his life.

Persistent and consistent prayers is necessary to stop the gates of hell from prevailing in our lives and in our families. While it is true that we are living in perilous times of great spiritual conflicts, we do not have to be troubled because through prayer we can provoke divine interventions.
When we pray, things shift in the spirit realm as our prayers activate the workings of grace.
Prayer ushers in order out of chaos and overturns the plans of the enemy in our lives and in the lives of our loved ones..
As we pray, we are making spiritual deposits that will soon cause eruptions of miracles and supernatural deliverances.
One thing we can always be sure of is that God answers prayers. Often times in our lives, the enemy tries to make us to think that God didn’t hear our prayers and didn’t care.
But if you will stay persistent, you will find that indeed God does hear the cry of the righteous.
If we travail in prayers and refuse to grow weary, we will surely reap the promises of God in our lives.
You cannot tell how, but you will look up and see that God has indeed exceeded your expectations and done far above what you could ever ask, think or imagine. That is the way our God works, He is faithful to the end and those that put their trust in Him are never put to shame.
We serve the wonder-working God He is the chain-breaker who can destroy everything trying to block our progress, peace and joy.
No matter what you may be faced with today, call upon Him in prayers and He will surely answer you. Our being able to experience greater open doors this year, will not be accidental rather, it will be the result of deliberately assuming spiritual responsibility on the altar of prayer. Through prayer you can fight your way into the fulfillment of the prophecies spoken over you this year.
Therefore today, instead of worrying or fretting over any issue or being anxious, rather by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let us present our requests to God.’(Philippians 4:6).
As we pray, let us rejoice in the Lord always because God is already working in ways and methods we may not fathom and sooner than we know it, we will see God’s Word fulfilled in amazing ways..

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for Your grace that has brought me thus far. I know that even now You are working in my favour. Lord I thank You because I know that every impossible situation is being turned right now into an amazing testimony for me in Jesus Name

MARCH 6; WORDS OPEN DOORS OF BLESSINGS!

Proverbs 18:21 ‘Death and life are in the power of the tongue have, And those who love it will eat its fruit.’

DAILY READING – Mark 14:32-72; 1 Kings 9; Hosea 11:1-11

Jonathan Edwards was one of America’s most famous early ministers, He is mostly known for his classic sermon, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God,”.
This sermon was so convicting that lost souls sitting under his preaching would scream and fall to the floor in anguish. Some would begin yelling that they could feel the flames of hell scorching their feet.
While Jonathan Edwards was a fiery preacher, he was also a very loving, compassionate man who enjoyed spending quality personal time with his family. Edwards got married in 1727 and had eleven children. When at home, Edwards had a special chair that in the evenings, he would sit in and gather his children around him to spend quality time with them. Each day, Edwards would pray a blessing over each child.
Years later in 1900, a researcher named A. E. Winship tracked 1,400 decedents of Edwards. In his published study, Winship revealed that among his descendants were 300 ministers, 13 noted authors, 13 college presidents, 65 college professors, 100 lawyers and a dean of a law school, 30 judges, 56 physicians and a dean of a medical school, 80 holders of public office, 3 United States Senators, 1 Vice President of the United States and 1 comptroller of the United States Treasury.
As a result of the positive words Jonathan Edwards spoke over his children, the blessings continued to manifest through their generation.

Proverbs 18:21 says “life and death are in the power of the tongue.”

Words are powerful. Our words are like seeds, and they will produce fruit. The words being planted today, will bring a harvest in the future.
The truth is that the words of our mouth control our lives, whether we like it or not. As a rudder controls the direction of a ship, our tongues controls the direction of our lives. Therefore to continually experience greater open doors, we must discipline our lips to speak only words of faith and blessings.
What we say is what we will eventually see.
The world we see today was created by words unseen. In the story of creation in the book of Genesis, each time God spoke, something supernatural happened. Through His words the light conquered the darkness, the earth was formed and creation came alive.
Within six days, the world was framed by the creative power of God’s Word.
Because we are created in the image of God, there is also power in our mouths. We can recreate our world by the words we speak. We can open doors of blessings by speaking consistently in line with God’s Word.
As we speak, miracles will happen, our enemies will be defeated, the lines will fall for us in pleasant places, walls of impossibilities will be flattened and we will live triumphant and victorious,
We must recognize that we are our own prophets and can determine what happens around us by our utterances.
Everything we have in our lives today is a direct result of what we have been saying and believing.
Proverbs 6 says, “We are snared by the words of our mouth”. Snared means to be trapped. Negative thoughts come to us all, but if you speak them out, you give them life. This is why we speak only what God has said concerning us.
Therefore, no matter what is going on in the world we need to keep speaking words of faith, power and blessings. What we say is what we will eventually see. To speak right words, let us continually meditate on God’s Word. The Word of God is the seed that bears good fruits in our lives. As we keep speaking God’s words, our lives and the lives of our loved ones will yield harvests of miracles, signs and wonders.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to speak right words always. Let my mouth be a fountain of life that brings blessings and deliverance to me and my household in this season in Jesus Name.

MARCH 5; BE SPIRITUALLY ALERT!

Luke 21:36 “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man”.

DAILY READING – DAILY READING; Mark 14:1-31; 1 Kings 8; Hosea 9:17-10:15.

New Zealand is a country renowned for its natural beauty – it’s a place with soaring, snow-covered mountains, bubbling thermal pools, and vast, clear lakes.
But it’s also a country that straddles two tectonic plates and is on what’s known as the “Ring of Fire” – a trail of volcanoes and earthquake-prone areas around the Pacific Ocean.
For those living in New Zealand, volcanic activity and earthquakes are often a part of life. New Zealand’s most active volcano is in a place called White Island. For many years scientists believed it was a disaster waiting to happen, but after about a hundred years of no eruption, tourism to White Island increased steadily.
However, from 2011 the volcano on the island began showing increased activity, which caused scientists to begin giving out serious warnings.
Yet despite these warnings, tourists continued to arrive daily in boatloads to visit the island. In the weeks leading up to December 2019, New Zealand volcano monitoring service GeoNet raised the alert level on White Island to level 2, which meant that there was low level volcanic activity taking place on the island.
On Monday, December 9, 2019 there was nothing that signaled there was going to be a volcanic eruption. And so a tourist company named White Island Tours, took tourists from countries around the world to the island for a visit. But on that very day, in the afternoon, tragedy struck. About 47 tourists had been climbing deep inside the crater of the volcano when suddenly the White Island volcano erupted, blasting huge plumes of smoke and debris 12,000 kilometres into the sky. It killed at least six people and left over 20 fighting for their lives with severe burns.
After the tragedy, many people questioned why tourists would still be visiting the island after the several warnings from scientists.

Though scientists had been warning about the volcano for years, tourists never really believed it could actually happen one day, but it did.
For many years now there has been Biblical prophesies and warnings about the end of the world, but people keep ignoring these warnings, thinking it cannot really happen.
As believers in these last days, while we pursue God’s purpose and destiny for us on earth, we should also remain keenly aware that the Lord can come at any time. While we make our plans, we also stay alert to Biblical warnings.
We are at a time when majority of end-time signs have been fulfilled. Because no man knows the day or the hour we should live our lives as though the Lord could come at any moment.
1 Thessalonians 5:2-4 says ‘For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.’
The Bible has given us several warnings and instructions on how to overcome in these last days. The first instruction is for all believers to “watch.”
In Mathew 24:42, Jesus said “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come”
The idea of setting a specific watch was understood in Christ’s time. The Romans divided the evening and night
into a series of four periods called “watches,” marked as the first, second, third, and fourth watch.
In Luke 21:36 Jesus said “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man”.
In addition to watching we are also to pray . Prayer sharpens our spiritual sensitivity and keeps us vigilant and watchful.
It is the enemy’s ploy to keep men’s minds sedated through preoccupation with worldly affairs. But rather than be conformed to the world let us continually stay spiritually alert through the renewal of our minds with God’s Word. As we seek God daily, He will enable us to be spiritually awake, so that we are not caught unawares by the events of these last days.

PRAYER: Father please enable me to heed Biblical warnings of these end-times through becoming spiritually alert. Please grant me the grace to constantly watch and pray so as to be sensitive to the leadings of Your Spirit in Jesus Name.

MARCH 4; IT PAYS TO PUT GOD FIRST!.

2Chronicles 26:5 ‘And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God, and as long as he sought The Lord, God made him to prosper.’

DAILY READING • Mark 13:14-37; 1 Kings 7; Hosea 9:1-16

In 1903 an ambitious young man named James Kraft moved to Chicago, Illinois, with the desire of becoming the most successful manufacturer and salesman of cheese in the world. A dedicated Christian and a hard worker, James Kraft purchased a pony and a wagon. He began buying cheese in bulk wholesale and selling it to grocers in smaller quantities, neatly packaged in ways that delayed spoiling in an era before refrigeration.
Early each morning he loaded his wagon with cheese then delivered it to stores throughout the city. But as the months passed, Kraft began to despair. Despite all his long hours and hard work he was making very little profit.
One day he pulled his wagon to a stop and began pondering on what he was not doing right and why his business was not growing. He then realized that his priorities were not where they ought to be, because he was not placing God first in his life and business.
He then drove home and made a covenant that for the rest of his life he would first serve the Lord and then work as God directed.
As Kraft began to keep his pledge, the Lord greatly prospered his business ventures. In 1916 he invented and patented a process of pasteurizing cheese which resisted spoiling and could be shipped long distances. In the years that followed his business expanded into international markets.
James Kraft served as Superintendent of his Church’s large Sunday.
He was a man of prayer and never made a decision without going on his knees. He recognized God as the senior partner in his business, who must always be consulted before any major decision.
Kraft remained a faithful Christian until his death in 1953 and his products still remain favorite staples on grocery shelves throughout the world today.

2 Chronicles 26:5 says ‘And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God, and as long as he sought The Lord, God made him to prosper.’

The level of our seeking God determines the level of our prosperity in life.
As believers, many of us can claim to be indeed seeking God, but the question is, are we seeking Him “first.”
Are we making Him our greatest priority and making His Word our final authority?
We cannot make great progress if we are enthroning ourselves our desires, our needs and plans above God’s will. It is our decision to give God first place that makes the difference in our journey.
Pursuing after the heart of God is the secret card for experiencing success in life. God is not ‘a’ factor for our success, God is ‘the’ factor for our success.
God is the maker of men’s destinies, and it is only through following Him that we become made in life.
Truly, we cannot make a mark in life until God has first put His mark on us. And we will have no effect until He has first affected us.
When you put God first, you will never end up as last. And when you advance His kingdom, you’ll never end up at the back. Mighty men are made by the Almighty God. He is the Most High God, and all who are joined to Him end up in the high places of life.
We can never impact our world until God has first impacted us.
And for God to impact us, it requires time spent in prayer, study of the Word and fellowship with the Spirit.
To succeed in our endeavors, it is important for us to consult God through prayers in every step we take.
Our willingness to follow God in complete faith and obedience will determine how well we will fulfill our destiny. Indeed as we persistently make God our top priority, we will ascend to life’s topmost places and continually experience amazing open doors.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the grace to always seek You first in everything. Truly, without You, I can do nothing. Thank You Lord for perfecting all that concerns me and causing me to experience amazing open doors through out this year in Jesus’ Name.

MARCH 3; THE TURNAROUND POWER OF PRAISE

!

Hebrews 13:15 ‘By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name’

DAILY READING; Mark 13:1-13; 1 Kings 6; Hosea 8

In 1977, Gene McGuire was 17.years old when he found himself at the wrong place at the wrong time. He had gone for a drink at a tavern with his 24-year-old cousin, who unknown to him was living a criminal lifestyle.
When they stepped out of the Tavern to go home, Gene’s cousin went back inside to rob the 60-year-old bartender and in the process he killed her.
To escape the police, Gene followed his cousin to run to Spanish Harlem in New York City, where they hid out in drug houses and flea-bitten motels. But after a short while, Gene was overcome with guilt and turned himself in to New York police and was taken back to his hometown in Pennsylvania.
At Gene’s trial, being a teenager who was ignorant about the court proceedings, he agreed to plead guilty and was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.
For the first 10 years of his prison term, Gene fell into the depths of the prison lifestyle, which included violence, drugs, and porn.
In 1986 a Prison Fellowship held a 3-day revival in the prison and Gene surrendered his life to Jesus as his Lord and Savior. After receiving mentorship from one of the pastors of the prison fellowship, Gene began to grow spiritually and soon began leading many other inmates to Christ.
Over the years, Gene applied several times to the State Governor for pardon, but was denied. When Gene turned 50 years, he applied for the fifth time and was again denied pardon. At that point it appeared he would live out the rest of his life in the prison.
Gene felt very depressed, but in the midst of his pain, he felt God impress on his heart to give Him thanks. Though Gene was feeling very bad, he decided to look beyond his circumstances and sincerely thank God for His goodness.
After offering that sacrifice of praise, two months later, Gene received surprising and unexpected news! He learned that the U.S. Supreme Court had ruled that those who were 17years and younger when they received a life sentence would get a “post-conviction relief” review of their case.
It took 20 months to have Gene’s case reviewed. After that, on April 3, 2012, Gene walked back into the courtroom, shackled, and handcuffed to hear the verdict.
After the court proceedings, the Presiding Judge surprised everyone by declaring that Gene was now a free man!
Gene could barely believe his ears; after serving 34 years, nine months, 15 days in jail, he was finally free!
As Jubilation erupted in the courtroom, among His friends and family, Gene cried for joy.
Gene believed that his obedience to praise God even in negative circumstances, caused the amazing turnaround that brought him out of prison. His story is captured in his book, ‘Unshackled: From Ruin To Redemption’.

The spirit of thanksgiving releases the miracle-working power of God.
When you look beyond your pain and adversity and praise God because of who He is, it is a powerful expression of faith. . In situations when most people would become negative and bitter, if you decide rather to bless the Lord, It will turn your worship into a weapon.
Doors that seemed impossible would suddenly be flung open.
When Paul and Silas praised God in their midnight season, it brought an earthquake that shook up the prison and secured their release.
When you can praise God in the pit and have a song in your heart despite the pain, God will surely raise you up.

Even at those times, it may seem we have a good reason to feel down and discouraged, we must discipline ourselves to always give God thanks in everything (I Thessalonians 5:18).
Depression will only give room to the oppression of the enemy. But thanksgiving leads to our lifting.
Therefore, instead of complaining over your health, choose rather to thank God for restoration. Instead of being discouraged over your finances, choose rather to thank God for overflowing abundance.
As you do so, you will see negative verdicts overturned, and experience amazing open doors.
We don’t just praise God only when it feels good, we are to offer praise, “continually.”

Hebrews 13:15 says ‘By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name

Praise activates God’s power and opens the door to His victory and blessing. No matter what is happening around you, worship Him! Declare His goodness. Thank Him for what He will do in your life.
No matter how difficult the trial, as we stay in praise, God will turn every test into our testimony, because God never disappoints genuine worshippers.

PRAYER: Lord, Please grant me the grace to always give you worthy praise in every situation. Please help me to look beyond the obvious and trust that You are always at work in my life, doing great and mighty things for me in Jesus Name. .

MARCH 2; GRACE FOR SPEEDY ACCOMPLISHMENTS

!

2 Corinthians 9:8 ‘And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work…’

DAILY READING; • Mark 12:28-44; 1 Kings 4-5; Hosea 7:3-16

The great missionary to China, Hudson Taylor was born to a father who was a local Methodist preacher. Before his birth, his parents had specifically prayed that he would grow up to become a missionary to China someday.
Even as a child, the call to China was so apparent that at only age 4, Hudson one day said “When I am a man I mean to be a missionary and go to China.”
At age 15, he began working at their local bank as a junior clerk. Hudson soon made worldly friends and lost interest in things of God.
But the call of God upon his life remained strong and he had no peace until he had fully surrender his life to Christ.
On December 2, 1849 while waiting upon the Lord, Hudson received a clear call that it was time to go to serve in China. But he did not have the money or wherewithal to embark on this assignment, so he trusted God to open up doors for him.
He started to do the little he could in preparation, by distributing tracts, studying the Chinese language, holding Gospel meetings and visiting poor families.
One day, he was visiting a poor home with evidently starving children. But after he had prayed for them he felt God wanted him to do more. So he gave the family all the money he had, even down to his last coin. He went home happy in heart even though he did not know how the next money would come. To his surprise, the next day the postman brought a letter with money that was about 400% of what he had given. Hudson experienced several such instances where money he sowed returned back to him in multiplied forms. He also began to experience amazing open doors.
In 1852, the Chinese Evangelization Society, arranged to pay for his training as a doctor at a London Hospital, in preparation for his going to China.
Miraculously God provided the funds he needed for his missionary trip.
When he finally arrived in China, Hudson continued to rely on God for protection, provision and everything else.
And indeed God helped him marvelously. Hudson Taylor would go on to do mighty exploits in China. He founded the China Inland Mission which was responsible for bringing over 800 missionaries to China and began 125 schools, which resulted in the conversion of thousands of Chinese people.

The fact that God has called you to an assignment, does not mean it will be automatically fulfilled.
There are steps we must take to succeed and accomplish our call. Our best preparation for success in life and ministry is learning to become totally dependent upon God.
We will succeed based on our dedication and commitment to doing God’s will, even when it is not convenient.
There are times, God will require us to sow seeds of finances, love, kindness etc into the lives of others,
These seeds are what will open up doors of favor and blessings that guarantees us speedy progress. Whatever we sow, we will surely end up receiving in multiplied form.
When you focus on constant obedience to God, you will never be stranded in life. When you are lost in His will, He will be committed to your welfare. He will give you the grace both to start and finish what He has called you to do. Jesus is called the author and the finisher of our faith. This means that what He begins in us, He is also able to accomplish.
Though we may sometime be confronted by difficulties, we can always count on God’s sufficient grace to carry us through.

2 Corinthians 12:9, says “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness…”

The word “sufficient” means adequate for every scenario.
This means that there’s no situation in our lives that grace cannot handle. God is able to make all grace abound towards you, so that you can have all sufficiency in all things.
As we step out into this new month, it is important to make obeying God our topmost priority. As we seek first His kingdom, surely, every other thing will fall into place in our lives.

PRAYER; Lord please help me to be obedient to Your Word and follow Your every instructions. As I fervently seek You, I thank You for Your divine help and mighty manifestations of miracles in my life in Jesus Name.

MARCH 1; MARCHING FORWARD BY THE BLOOD!

John‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬ ‭(AMPC‬‬)
“No one has greater love [no one has shown stronger affection] than to lay down (give up) his own life for his friends.”

DAILY READING • Mark 12:1-27; 1 Kings 3; Hosea 6:1-7:2

In ancient Rome, gladiator fights were often held in the Colosseum to entertain the people. These fights usually involved violent confrontations between gladiators, who shed their blood profusely until one of them is finally killed.
People found their entertainment in watching these men die and were fascinated by the sight of blood and gore upon the arena floor. Most of these fighters were slaves, political prisoners, those considered to be the dregs of the society and they were forced to train and fight for their lives for the sheer entertainment of others.
Some concerned people had made attempts to stop these games, but had failed, as the people continued to gather to enjoy this bloody sports.
However, a monk named, Telemachus became so disturbed that he felt something practical had to be done to stop it.
On one of the days of the gladiator fights, he went to the coliseum and sat among the audience. His heart filled with compassion as he saw the gladiators come forth, stood before the Emperor, and say, ‘We who are about to die salute you.’
Telemachus rose from his seat and ran down onto the arena floor just as the two men faced each other and drew their swords to begin fighting. It was expected that one of them would be dead within minutes. Holding high a cross in his hands, the monk threw himself between the two gladiators and cried, “In the name of Christ, stop fighting!”
At first, the crowd thought it was part of the entertainment, and so they were amused. But when they saw that the monk had stopped the two men from fighting and the two gladiators had put away their swords, the crowds went wild with anger. They were enraged that Telemachus had robbed them of their bloody entertainment. Some of them ran into the arena and grabbed the poor monk and began beating him and stoning him and didn’t stop until he had died.
As the battered body of the monk, lay lifeless in the arena, it finally brought an end to the bloody gladiator games in Rome. His death seemed to open the eyes of the people to their own cruelty and wickedness. Following the martyrdom of Telemachus, the Roman Emperor, Honorius, issued a historic ban on gladiatorial fights and they were never held again in Rome.

In the attempt to save the lives of the gladiators, Telemachus ended up paying with his own life.
We may find it hard to believe that people of ancient Rome could have exhibited such level of cruelty, but the truth is that even today, the hearts of men remain desperately wicked.
While we may not have public sports where people are entertained by seeing others die and shed their blood, we still have among us, men who enjoy seeing the pain and suffering of others.
These are people who derive their joy from seeing others stumble and fall. Speaking about such people, Proverbs 4:16 says ‘For they sleep not, except they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.’

Today, in our society, politics, communities and nations we can easily see the works of the wicked as they perpetrate injustice, cheating, violence, witchcraft etc.
And Revelations 12:12 makes us to understand that the wicked will do more wickedly still.
However, Christ has not left us alone in this world to suffer the oppressions of the wicked, rather He has equipped us with weapons of warfare to overcome them. Chief among these weapons is the Blood of Jesus.
By the power in the Blood we are able to overcome the wicked and their evil works and keep marching forward in life.
Especially as we come into this new month of March, nothing is permitted to hinder our progress.
By the Blood of Jesus we shall triumph continually in all our endeavors.
Through the power in the Blood we are guaranteed the victory over every oppressor.
It was by the blood that the Israelites broke free from the oppression of Pharaoh.
Therefore in this new month as we invoke the Blood of Jesus, surely the wickedness of the wicked must come to an end in our lives. Indeed because of the price Jesus paid at Calvary, affliction is not permitted to arise a second time in our lives.
It is our season of stepping into greater open doors.
Because we are born of God, we are destined to always overcome the world and triumph over the wickedness therein.
Let us march into this new month with great expectations because God is about to do great things.
He is set to amaze us with His wonders.
in our lives, families, communities and nation, we are about to see the end of the era of the wicked. Surely, it is our time to arise and shine for our light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon us.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for bringing me into this glorious new month. By the power in the Blood of Jesus, I shall keep marching forward and triumph always in Jesus Name

FEBRUARY 28; FAITH OVER FEAR!

Psalm 20 1 [NIV] ‘May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.’

DAILY READING; Mark 11:15-33; 1 Kings 2; Hosea 5:5-15

What happened in the streets of Mogadishu in October 1993 became a turning point in the United States’ interventions in Africa.
At a time of great famine and war in Somalia, America had led the international intervention to bring aid to Somalia.
But the attempt to distribute aid was disrupted by one of the seven war lords fighting in Somalia. This notorious warlord, Gen. Mohamed Farah Aideed had killed 24 Pakistanis while they distributed food.
In October 1993, elite American troops launched a raid in the Somali capital of Mogadishu to either capture or kill Farrah Aidid and his key aides.
During the raid, American soldiers seized two of Mohammed Farrah Aidid’s top lieutenants, but things suddenly went wrong, as an American soldier who was climbing the helicopter rope, fell 70 feet to the ground headfirst.
Staff Sergeant Jeff Struecker led three Humvees to rescue the fallen and unconscious soldier and return him back to their base.
But on their way back, as they turned a corner, they ran into an ambush by thousands of Mohammed Farrah Aidid’s fighters. Though shot at from different directions, miraculously most of the men escaped and made it back to base.
However, on arrival, Struecker was told he had to drive back with his men to rescue more soldiers who had been in two helicopters shot down by the Somali rebels.
Struecker knew going back into the midst of the thousands of armed Somalis was a suicide mission. Being a Christian, he prayed fervently for God’s help and deliverance.
As he prayed, he felt the Lord remind him of his recent Bible devotional about Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. There, Jesus said, “Not my will but yours be done.”
Struecker prayed for only God’s will to be done and from that moment on, he felt his worries disappear as he trusted God to take care of him. In the ensuing bloody battles, 18 Americans and two UN soldiers were killed and hundreds of Somali fighters also died.
The images of dead American soldiers being dragged through the streets of Mogadishu by the rebels outraged many Americans. Within 6 months America withdrew its troops from Somali and from then on, the U.S became wary of intervening in African crises.
As for Jeff Struecker , his display of faith and strength that night of fierce battles, caused many soldiers to afterward flock to him wanting to know more about his God. The desire to impact the lives of these soldiers for Christ influenced Struecker to eventually become an army chaplain.

One of the stark realities of being a citizen of the world is that we can get caught in battles fuelled by the actions of selfish and evil-motivated oppressors.
But even though we may walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we shall fear no evil because God is with us.
In the midst of the chaos and confusing circumstances in the world, we need to hold on to God’s promises in His Word. No matter how the sea roars, as we walk in faith, we will never become victims of the plots of the wicked.
Walking in faith means that we need to constantly focus on what God has said in His Word and give no room for fear.
As we maintain our focus on God, He will gradually guide us through every difficulty and bring us into His perfect plan and purpose.
No matter how formidable any situation, through the power of prayer we can change the tide of the battle in our favor.
We serve the God of excessive power, excessive grace, and excessive might. There is no problem, trouble, situation or circumstance that God cannot handle. Therefore any time you face what seems an insurmountable mountain, do not panic. Don’t think that it is the end of the road. As long as you can keep your focus on God’s Word, be assured that help is on the way. In God, we have an immovable rock that we can always run to.
In times of trouble, He will answer us speedily and send us help from Zion.

Psalm 20 1 [NIV] says ‘May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.’

This is our prayer today. Surely, the Name of the Lord will protect us and send us help from His sanctuary.
Let us continue to praise God for delivering us from the actions of evil oppressors. By the grace of God it is our time to experience a sudden shift in our circumstances, we shall indeed see supernatural turnarounds, inexplicable miracles, speedy divine deliverances and abundance of peace and progress.

PRAYER Lord I thank You for Your grace being released to me to experience divine deliverance from oppression in every area of my life. You are forever faithful and You never fail. I know that even right now You are perfecting all that concerns me in Jesus Name.
