One of the stories that highlight the resilience of the Chinese Christians is that of Pastor Yang Hua of Living Stone Church in China’s Guizhou province.
Yang Hua and another pastor had founded the Living Stone Church in 2009. It grew to become the region’s largest house church and resisted various pressures from the authorities to sanction it.
This resulted in the government crackdown on Living Stone Church that included the arrest of its leaders, raids, fines, confiscation of church property and detention of members.
In one of the attacks, pastor Yang Hua was brutally beaten by local Chinese police.
Pastor Yang’s injuries made the authorities to send him to the local Accident & Emergency hospital unit by ambulance. The attack also triggered a flare up of his pre-existing pancreatitis, for which he was to undergo a medical check-up for.
In January 2017 he was sentenced to two years and six months in prison for state crimes associated with his Christian faith. He also faced an accusation of owing the government more than $1 million in fines.
Pastor Yang Hua was released on 19 June 2018 after completing his sentence. At his release, he was in poor health as a result of his prison stay. But pastor Hua left prison singing and praising God because he was determined not to allow anything to steal his joy. Despite all he had gone through and all he seemed to have lost he remained grateful to God that he didn’t lose his life. And despite the persecutions, God keeps increasing and blessing their Church.

Indeed Praise will always precede the victory. When we offer sacrifice of praise it is like digging ditches in the desert.
Chapter 3 of 2 Kings is a fascinating story where we find the three kings of Israel, Judah, and Edom joining forces to fight against their enemies, but the conditions of the battle became difficult for them because there was drought in the land. The kings then asked prophet Elisha for help. Elisha then asked for a minstrel and as worship was offered to God, the hand of the Lord came upon Elisha and he told the kings, the Lord said, “You will not see wind or rain. But this valley will be filled with water.’
The kings likely found Elisha’s request ridiculous, but they did as they were told and dug the ditches. By the next morning, water came flooding in and the ditches were filled with water! The soldiers and their horses had plenty to drink and also God eventually gave them resounding victory over their enemies.
When there seems to be no rain, when the conditions appear difficult, that is when to go into worship and offer a sacrifice of praise.
Every time you praise despite the pain, you’re making preparation for the rain. In the scripture rain represents blessing, favor, increase. Around you there may not be any sign of things working right now, but keep digging the ditches, keep praising God, there is coming the sound of the abundance of rain. You may not see anything happening, but behind the scenes, God’s getting it all lined up, and things will suddenly change in your favor.
Today, you may be in a season of challenges, but just keep giving God praise. Shake off the complains and just keep thanking God. If you’ll do your part and dig the ditches, then God will do His part and bring the overflowing rain of blessings.

PRAYER: Lord, I know You are always good and faithful. No matter what happens around me, I know You are in perfect control of my life. Please grant me the grace to always give You worthy praise at all times in Jesus Name.

One of the most recent amazing moves of the Holy Spirit was witnessed early this year with the outbreak of the Asbury revival at Asbury University, Kentucky.
This revival was significant because of its spread particularly among ‘Generation Z’, noted as the world’s most irreligious generation in history.
On Wednesday, February 8, 2023, students at Asbury University, a private Christian university, had attended the mandatory midweek service as usual without much interest.
The pastor had preached about love taking his text from Romans 12. But when he made a call for the students to come to the altar for repentance and rededication, no one came forward.
The pastor left, feeling he had failed to make an impact.
However, after the service ended, about 19 students stayed back, arrested by the Holy Spirit. They sat in several clusters and kept praying. The power of the Spirit drew other students to join them and they prayed into the night and to the next day.
This was the beginning of the revival. As the revival fire spread, groups of many students from other campuses started to show up at Asbury University. The news of the phenomenon quickly spread through social media and the crowds grew into thousands and the university had to set up overflow rooms. Everyday, approximately 15,000 people attended the nonstop prayers and worship. Many experienced healing, deliverance and salvation. By its end, the revival had brought about 70,000 visitors from different countries to Asbury university.

Though the preacher’s sermon had failed to make any impact on the young students of Asbury University, when the fire of the Holy Ghost fell, they were suddenly arrested and transformed and revived.
Revival is a heavenly invasion of the kingdom of God upon the earth. When it comes it can melt even the most hardened hearts.
As the gross darkness increases in the world today, we need revival for survival. We need the fire of the Spirit to constantly flow through us burning up every chaff and keeping us spiritually alive and alert in these perilous last days.
Jesus said in Luke 21:36 [NIV] ‘Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”
The truth is that today, we are living in very dangerous times and it will take highly spiritual believers who are very sensitive to the Spirit to know what to do to escape the perils of these end times.
We therefore need oil in our lamps and the fire of the Holy Ghost burning in our lives through a fervent spiritual life. To avoid becoming victims of the various schemes of the wicked, we must keep our fire burning and never allow it to go out. (Leviticus 6:12)
As watchmen on the walls, we are to fervently stand in the place of intercession, overturning the plans of the wicked and ensuring positive changes wherever we go. As intercessors, we are facilitators of divine intervention in our families, cities and nations.
Therefore today, let us seek for greater depths in the Spirit through a lifestyle of diligent study of the Word, prayers and worship.
As we do, surely fresh fire from Heaven will fall upon our lives and ignite us to shine as lights in the midst of the gross darkness of these last days.

PRAYER: Lord, I am available, please use me in this generation to affect my world positively. Especially in these end-times, let my light so shine before men that many souls may be brought into Your kingdom in Jesus Name.

Hamas, is an acronym for Harakat al-Muqawama al-Islamiya (“Islamic Resistance Movement”). It was founded in 1988, with the aim of warring against the state of Israel. Ever since, it has become Israel’s major foe. In the 1990’s, Israel’s security were very hard pressed in this war with Hamas. Residents in Israel were under constant rocket attack and suicide bombings. As the Jewish nation frantically looked for a way out of this situation, God raised help for them from strange quarters
when in 1996, the son of a top leader of Hamas, turned around to become Israel’s greatest informant.
In his best-selling book, Son of Hamas’, Mosab Hassan Yousef tells the story of his encounter with Christ and how God turned him away from terrorism and used him rather as an instrument to help protect the people of Israel.
As the oldest son of one of the founding leaders of Hamas, Mosab had an inside view of the organization. And from the innermost circles of Hamas, he worked for Israel, helping to track down suicide bombers and their handlers from his father’s terrorist organization. The information Yousef supplied prevented dozens of suicide attacks and assassinations, exposed numerous terrorist cells, and helped in hunting down many militants, including masterminds of terrorist attacks, and notorious bomb makers.
In 2007, he moved to the United States, where he wrote his bestselling book.
The work Mosab did was instrumental in saving many lives.

At a time, when Israeli security needed help with an enemy too difficult for them, God raised help from unexpected quarters.

In II Chronicles 20, King Jehoshaphat was faced with a similarly difficult situation. He was faced with a battle greater than him. Three enemy nations were against him. In II Chronicles 20:12, he said “We have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee”.

And when they engaged God through praise, God did the unexpected. He caused the enemies to fight among themselves, they were all smitten and none of them escaped.
There are battles in your life that can be mightier than your strength and because of their complex nature, you can come to your wits’ end. In that case, let God take over your battles. Let Him go ahead of you, as you hide behind Him. He can do exceedingly abundantly above all you could ever ask or think. Just praise and exalt Him. God can turn situations around in a way you never expected. God can visit you in unprecedented ways. He will do things that will cause men to say ‘this can only be the finger of God.’
When the battle is stronger than your capacity, just hand it over to God by giving Him worthy praise.
Maybe you have tried your best, yet things are still not working as you anticipated. It doesn’t matter what forces are arrayed against you; just switch to praise. High praises provokes God to fight for you.
Romans 8:31says ‘If God be for us who can be against us?’
Today, as we give God worthy praise, surely, He will arise for us and all our enemies will be scattered. [Psalms 68:1 – 3]

PRAYER: Lord, please arise for me, so that every enemy will be scattered. Let there be a mighty manifestation of Your power that will guarantee victory for me in every battle in Jesus Name.

Many historians consider Cyrus the great, King of ancient Persia as the world’s first known humanitarian.
In 1879, British archaeologists digging in Iran discovered the Cyrus Cylinder containing a decree by King Cyrus of Persia. In the 40-line decree, the king clearly outlined a number of policies designed to defend the rights of the conquered.
The United Nations says the Cyrus Cylinder is the “world’s first charter of human rights” and is proof that King Cyrus was indeed a great humanitarian.
His greatest and most famous humanitarian act was releasing the captive Jews in Babylon and allowing them to return to Judea to rebuild the temple and the city of Jerusalem. King Cyrus actually financed the Jews’ return to their homeland, including the reconstruction of their temple, and Jerusalem!
While all of this history is well documented by secular historians and archaeological evidence, the Bible also has specific records about King Cyrus. Perhaps the most amazing is the record by prophet Isaiah. The critical factor about Isaiah’s account is that it was written about 150 years before King Cyrus was even born! Even his name was mentioned!. King Cyrus’ rise to power, his defeat of Babylon, his humanitarian legacy, his name—even Babylon’s gates of iron and brass—were all prophesied by God about one and a half centuries before Cyrus’s birth! This is indeed an awesome proof of the Bible’s accuracy.
Knowing from the Scriptures what he was predestined to do may have influenced Cyrus’ to work towards fulfilling his divine purpose and leave a lasting legacy.
More than 2,500 years after his death, Cyrus the Great is still celebrated as one of humanity’s most brilliant and outstanding monarchs.

Greatness and outstanding success comes from following Heaven’s blueprint for our lives.. God has a definite plan and purpose for all our days on earth. If we don’t understand this, we can waste time on fruitless pursuits, while our main purpose on earth remains unattended
Today the average life span is 25,550 days, which is 70 years. If you live to be over a hundred years, you would clock about 40,000 days. The question is what are we doing with each of those days? Every day we sleep and wake up, a subtraction has been made to the sum.
We need an understanding of our times and season, in order to know what to do per time.

Psalms 90:13 says: So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

We certainly need wisdom to maximize our days on earth.

Ephesians 5: 15-17 says ‘See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. ‘

Every believer needs an understanding of his divine purpose. For that to happen, we must pay the price of constant fellowship with the Holy Spirit. It is in the place of prayer, intimate praise and worship that the Spirit of God reveals His plan to us and gives us the grace to walk through the doors He opens before us. By being obedient to His divine leading we are able to fulfill the great destiny preordained for us and leave behind a lasting legacy on earth..

PRAYER: Father please help me to pay the required price of spiritual responsibility, in order to receive specific instructions concerning Your will for me in each season of my life. I receive grace for obedience to Your divine purpose in Jesus Name.

DAILY READING • 1 Peter 1; Jeremiah 31-32; Psalm 134

At 3:00 a.m. on January 16, 1991, the United States launched Operation Desert Storm with an extensive aerial bombing campaign.
That night, F-15 pilot Lt. Col. Jeff Patton escorted a large formation of bombers, to destroy a chemical weapons plant just north of Bagdad.
To avoid detection, they flew in darkness.
However, shortly after crossing into Iraq, an enemy surface-to-air missile radar locked on to Col. Patton’s plane. He violently maneuvered his aircraft to break the radar’s lock. His maneuver was successful but created a new problem.
The sharp maneuver had thrown him out of balance, causing him to become disoriented, and lose sense of direction. Because he was flying in total darkness, he could no longer tell if he was going up or down. Though his mind was telling him he was going up, when he checked his instruments, they indicated he was diving down to the ground! His mind was screaming at him to lower the plane, because he was going up too high, but on the other hand his instruments instructed him to immediately lift up the plane because he was headed to the ground for a crash. He had to decide within 3 seconds whether to trust his mind or his instruments. At that moment his life depended on making the correct choice. Even though it took everything within him to overcome what his mind was telling him, he decided to trust his instruments. He immediately pulled his plane upward. It only took a few moments to realize he had made the right decision and narrowly escaped colliding into the mountains of Iraq. Adhering strictly to the instructions of the instruments panel saved his life.

To navigate through the dangerous corridors of life, we must refuse to be moved by what we see or by what is happening physically, rather we rely on the “instruments” of God’s Word.
To successfully fly through the storms of life, we need to walk by faith and not by sight.
God’s Word is settled in Heaven forever, and He never breaks covenant nor alters what has gone out of His lips. While other grounds may be shifting sand, we can always stand on the solid rock of God’s infallible Word.
Trusting God means that those times when we cannot see things clearly, or do not know which way to go, we simply follow His Word, and fly by the instructions of the Spirit.
The Holy Spirit reveals God’s mind to us and His guidance is crucial because we are fighting unseen enemies, against spiritual forces of wickedness in high places.
In this warfare, relying only on our physical senses can be misleading, deceptive and dangerous.

Proverbs 14:12 says there is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
To escape the paths of death and destruction, we need to follow strictly the instructions of the Spirit.
You cannot afford to trust your limited physical senses or rely on other people’s advice because even sincere people can be sincerely wrong.
Because God’s Word never fails and His counsel stands forever, let us today stay committed to following the guidance of God’s Word and His Spirit. As we trust His dealings with us, and not in our feelings, certainly we will escape every crash of destiny and fly to our high places in life.

PRAYER Lord Please enable me to always follow closely the instructions of Scriptures and the guidance of Your Spirit. As I walk by faith and not by sight, surely I shall be guided to my greater open doors in this season in Jesus Name.

Dr. Harry Ironside was one of the greatest Bible teachers the world has ever known. He has been called “America’s most popular expositor and the archbishop of fundamentalism”.
He stands out as one of the greatest Christian leaders of the 19th century..
Yet, interestingly, he was someone who was not supposed to have survived at birth. On October 14, 1876, when he was born, the attending physician pronounced him dead and laid him aside to attend to his mother. But 40 minutes later a startled nurse detected signs of pulse in the dead baby and plunged him into a hot bath, from which he emerged alive and healthy.
His father died when he was only a toddler and his family suffered great poverty, yet this boy with a greatly disadvantaged background, was raised to prominence through the help of the Spirit of God.
At 14 years old Harry accepted Christ as his Saviour. With a burning desire to tell others about Christ, he worked with the Salvation Army, and became known as “The Boy Preacher of Los Angeles.”
At 22 years old, Harry Ironside stepped out by faith into fulltime ministry, and began preaching wherever he had opportunity—on street corners, in missions, in the desert towns.
Supported by no organization, he learned of absolute dependence upon God for every need.
A life of prayers and diligent study of God’s Word, resulted in great anointing of the Spirit upon his life. This made his ministry to have great impact and eventually established him as one of the most prominent spiritual giants of his generation.

God has given us the Holy Ghost to help us become profitable in life and ministry.
1 Corinthians 12:7-9 says ‘But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.’
The Holy Spirit has come to give us divine advantage that will nullify whatever disadvantages we may have suffered in the past.
It can be tempting to fret and worry over our future, especially when there seems to be no human helper, but we must understand that God has ordained the Holy Spirit to be our Helper, our Source and Sustainer.
He is the One that gives meaning and value to our lives.
Genesis 1 tells us that in the beginning, the earth was void, dark and in confusion, but when the Holy Spirit began to move upon the face of the deep, God spoke creation into existence and everything took shape.
Likewise, when the Holy Spirit begins moving in our affairs, our lives can never remain void or without form. The mission of the Holy Spirit is to shatter any darkness hovering over your destiny and keeping it in a shapeless state
As He did in Genesis 1. He takes off whatever is obscuring God’s purpose for your life and brings you to a place of glory and prominence.
The Holy Spirit helps us to enjoy divine profiting by teaching us what to do and where to go at every cross road.( John 14:26,).
It is through the understanding the Holy Spirit gives that we can become outstanding in life. Without His divine illumination, we will suffer limitations and achieve mediocre results.
But with His help we record extraordinary achievement and become a wonder to all.
Today, as we commit to a life of prayer, study of the Word and worship, surely, through the help of the Spirit, we will rise to greater levels of destiny and experience God’s pre-ordered plan of divine profiting in all our endeavors.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for enabling me to profit in life by the help of the Spirit. No matter what disadvantages I may seem to face, I thank You for turning them around into divine advantages that will take me to greater heights of glory in Jesus Name. ….

The life of Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A, shows that behind life’s greatest failure could be awaiting life’s biggest opportunity. All it takes is connection to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to show you the way forward.
In 1945, Truett Cathy and his brother scraped together the money to open the Dwarf Grill. The business seemed promising, but three years after the restaurant opened, Cathy’s brother and business partner died in a plane crash. Cathy opened a second restaurant, but it burned to the ground — and there was no insurance for rebuilding. Soon after, Cathy faced a series of health issues that involved surgeries and a long road to recovery.
But in his darkest hour, when he was facing his greatest obstacles and setbacks, Cathy received the idea and inspiration for a new way of making sandwiches.
As he began to apply this new idea it became what is known as the Chick-fil-A sandwich.Tbis innovation turned into an extraordinary success that attracted customers and led to opening of more locations.
Eventually, the business grew to become a billion dollar business with more than 1,800-restaurants. And today, Chick-fil-A is one of the top 3 fast food chains in the world.
Truett credited the turning point and success of his company to divine guidance, application of Biblical principles and his decision to put God first in everything he did. Truett Cathy was a devout Christian, who taught Sunday School in his Church for more than 50 years and gave generously towards the spread of the Gospel. He always saw the Bible as his guide-book for life.

Through the help of the Spirit of God, we can experience divine recovery and supernatural turnarounds.
The Holy Spirit connects men to the fountain of divine wisdom, from where divine ideas flow. He not only gives you an idea, He also enables you to brew the idea into profitable products.
Anytime you face setbacks, trials or challenging situations, refuse to remain discouraged. Rather stay joyful and keep blessing God, trusting Him to give you the wisdom to turn those stumbling blocks into stepping stones.
Indeed God is in the business of restoration. He restores lost hope, lost health, lost careers, marriages, lost glory and dignity.
Jesus came to restore everything the devil has ever stolen from us.
Though Lazarus had lost everything and had even been buried for four days, when Jesus arrived, He announced – ‘I am the resurrection, and the life!’.
With the coming of Jesus, there was instant reversal and restoration that brought Lazarus out of the grave.[John 11:25]
Today, it doesn’t matter how dead any situation around you, there is divine restoration for you through the Blood of Jesus.
Certainly, by the power in the Blood, you will receive divine inspiration that will bring you out of every grave situation. As you keep praising God, very soon closed doors will supernaturally swing open to usher you into greater levels of your destiny.

PRAYER: Lord, Please help me to know that You are always at work in my life no matter what I may face. Thank You Lord, for divinely restoring every loss and always causing me to triumph in Jesus Name. ….

DAILY READING –James 3; Jeremiah 25-26; Psalm 131

Rabbi Kirt Schneider is one of the world’s best-known Jewish-Messianic preachers.
He accredits his amazing transformation from Judaism to Christianity to the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit.
While growing up as a young Jew, he felt isolated, unfulfilled and lost. Though he had become an accomplished wrestler by age 20, yet he continued to feel spiritually empty.
In his search for answers, he began reading books that would teach him how to exercise magical powers.
But during this quest, one night in 1978, he was suddenly awakened from his sleep and saw a vision of Jesus on the cross. Prior to then, no one had ever witnessed to him about Jesus. When the brief vision ended around 3:30am in the morning, he was certain God had revealed Jesus to him as the answer he had been searching for!
Thereafter he became a Christian and committed his life to a passionate pursuit of Jesus and to being used by God for His glory.
Today Rabbi Schneider is known globally for his’ Television show, ‘Discovering the Jewish Jesus’ which is broadcast on more than 30 Christian channels in almost 200 countries around the world.

Just like coming in contact with Jesus radically changed the life of Rabbi Schneider, God wants to positively transform anyone who genuinely seeks Him.
By His Spirit, God wants to open up beautiful new chapters in your life.
He wants to trransform you to the extent that you become a wonder to yourself and to everyone around you.
When the disciples came in contact with the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost, they became so transformed to the extent that people thought they were drunk.
In Acts 4:13, when the Jewish leaders saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
Likewise, through daily contact with Jesus, via His Word, we will become so energized and anointed that men will marvel at us. Jesus came to the earth for the purpose of transforming us from a lowlife of weakness, to a life of power and glory.
On leaving the earth, Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to be our helper, our comforter, our guide and activator. Through Him, we are turned into ‘another man’ and empowered to fulfill a glorious destiny.
The reason why a Christian would feel dry, stagnated, unfulfilled and frustrated is only if there’s no genuine connection to the Holy Spirit. When our lives become anointed and heavily influenced by the Spirit, we will move from mediocrity to making great impacts in the world.
Today, as we make a fresh commitment to seek the Holy Spirit wholeheartedly, it will be our season to arise from the ashes of stagnancy, redundancy and obscurity to experience the beauty of a wonderful new beginning.

PRAYER: Father, today, I receive the grace to seek You with greater fervency so that I can experience a great anointing of Your Spirit. Thank You Lord for taking me from limitations to a new level of abundance, overflow and glorious new heights in Jesus Name. .

Psalm 105:13-15 ‘When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people; He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.’

DAILY READING; James 2; Jeremiah 23-24; Psalm 130

Pastor Benny Hinn is best known globally for his “Miracle Crusades” characterized by great display of the power of the Holy Spirit.
Due to the demands of his ministry, he does a lot of travelling and in 1983, during one of his journeys, he was involved in a plane crash. While travelling with six people in a Cessna aircraft, at 11,000 feet, the small plane ran out of fuel near Avon Park, Florida. Benny who was asleep, was awakened by the panic of those in the plane.
“We’re in trouble. Pray! Pray!” were the first words he heard from the pilot.
As everyone began crying out in fear, suddenly a great peace came over Benny Hinn. He told the pilot “it’s going to be all right. No one will be killed!”
God used those words to calm the passengers.
Deep within his spirit Benny Him had the assurance that it was going to be all right. He felt the warmth of the anointing wrap around him like a blanket of divine protection.
At about 11 pm, when the fuel was completely depleted, the plane nose-dived and hit the trees, and began to roll very fast.
In that moment of mayhem and confusion, Benny him said to his own amazement and astonishment, he began laughing. At that time he did not know what he was doing was recorded in Job 5:22 which says “At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
They crash-landed in a field and everyone on board the plane survived. Although some of the others had injuries, Benny Hinn escaped with barely a scratch.

Those who carry the anointing of God’s Presence, also carry a ‘touch not seal’. Their lives are precious and hidden in Christ and God is committed to delivering them in times of trouble.
The Lord’s promise of protection is to those who maintain fellowship with Him, who dwell in His secret place and abide under His shadow. Under the shadow of His wings, is a place of shelter and refuge from storms, where you have such strong confidence in God that “at destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.’ [Job 5:22]
Those who pay the required price to seek God and abide in His Presence, are preserved from the attacks of the enemy.

In Psalm 61: 2-4 David says, ‘For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings”

Dwelling under the shadow of God’s wings, means dwelling in His Presence. And we cannot access His presence without engaging in thanksgiving and praise.
Psalms 100:4 tells us to enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise.
Thanksgiving and praise are covenant platforms through which we can access a hiding place in God. The Anointing that comes from praise is the oil that preserves us. David, praised God seven times a day and he was never wounded nor hurt, despite the many bloody battles he fought.
In Psalms 105:13-15, God says ‘Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm’
Today, let us make it a priority to go deeper in our relationship with God so that through the burden-removing, yoke-destroying Anointing of the Spirit, we can be preserved from the evils of these perilous times.

PRAYER;
Lord, please, ignite in me the desire to pay the required prize to carry the Presence of the Holy Spirit. I receive today, the grace to fervently seek after the anointing so that I can be empowered for constant victory in Jesus Name.

1Samuel 2:30: ‘ for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.’

DAILY READING: James 1; Jeremiah 21-22; Psalm 129

In a recent podcast, NBA star Steve Curry said that Romans 8:28, formed a foundation for his faith when he was younger. He says his faith gives him strength, and the Word of God is his beacon of light and lighthouse.
Steve Curry is a six-time NBA All-Star, whom many players and analysts have called the greatest shooter in NBA history. He is credited with revolutionizing the game of basketball. Yet Steve Curry credits all of his success to God.
During his MVP speech he openly declared “People should know who I represent and why I am who I am, and that’s because of my Lord and Savior.”
When playing on the court he often pounds his chest and points up. He said the reason for that is because he has a “heart for God” and also it is a reminder that he plays for God.
Curry says that although he takes every opportunity to talk to someone about God and his faith, he puts a larger emphasis on letting his actions speak for him. Part of the action that speaks for him is the Bible verse on the side of the sneakers he wears on the court; Philippians 4:13 which says “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” It is a verse that gives him strength and a sense of purpose, to remember who he is playing for every time he laces up his sneakers to get on the court. Curry also has written on his wrist, in Hebrew “First Corinthians 13:8”—Love never fails…
No doubt God has honored Curry and blessed him tremendously. Today he is ranked among the most famous international athletes and world’s highest-paid celebrities for his endorsements.

God said in 1 Samuel 2:30, ‘For them that honour Me I will honour, and they that despise Me shall be lightly esteemed’.
Every position God has granted us is for us to serve Him and proclaim His Kingdom. We are where we are only by His grace. Therefore wherever we go, we must use every opportunity to serve Him. And when our goal is to serve God, then honor automatically follows us.
In John 12:26 Jesus says ‘If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.’
As Christians, our whole life should be focused on bringing glory to God. Honoring God means making Him our top priority. It means putting Him first in everything and making Him our number one consideration in every decision. We must conduct our lives and affairs is such a way that it bring glory to God’s Name. Whatever we do,, wherever we are, we must endeavor to always bring glory to God.
There is a commanded blessing that comes upon those who honor God. When you keep honoring God, you become a magnet for His goodness.
One key way we honor God is by praising Him. Praise brings the Presence of God which beautifies the destinies of men. Therefore to see greater open doors this year, let us endeavor to bless the Lord at all times and let His praise continually be on our lips. The more we honor God and uplift Him before men, the more He will also elevate us to higher positions in life.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to honor You continually with my life. Wherever I go please help me to use every available opportunity to bring glory to You, so that Your blessings will abound in my life in Jesus’ Name.
