In 2015, many media outlets reported the miraculous survival of a toddler who had drowned in a rushing stream. Two-year-old Gardell and two of his brothers had gone outside to play on March 11, 2015, when he fell into the stream that runs through their 5-acre property. He was immediately swept away by the fast-moving current.
When his 7-year-old brother, Greg, screamed that he couldn’t find Gardell, their mother, Rose Martin, ran outside to search for him. She soon realized that Gardell had likely fallen into the creek, which was swollen because of melting snow. She called 911 while her two teenage daughters began walking downstream in a frantic search for the toddler.
Rose prayed that God would cause somebody to find Gardell. The prayer was answered when a neighbor found him caught up in a tree branch with water gushing around him. His lifeless body was in a severe hypothermic condition. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors tried to revive him, but for over an hour he did not respond.
As their friends and families gathered in their local church to pray for divine intervention, a miracle began to take place.
After 1 hour and 41 minutes, doctors finally discovered a pulse. With each passing hour, Gardell improved quickly at a rate of recovery that was stunning and amazed the doctors.
As prayers continued, within two days of the catastrophe, Gardell was fully recovered and discharged to go home.
His amazing survival was celebrated as a testimony of God’s miracle-working power.
Psalm 9:9-10 says “The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.”
Translation of the word refuge means ‘security and protection in a high, safe place of retreat; a shelter from danger’.
As a child of God, you are divinely defended in your battles. God is your ever-abiding help and refuge.
He is your way-maker and light in the darkness.
He is always there to deliver those who trust in Him.
In Isaiah 41:10, God assures us of His divine help in every time of need, so that we do not have to fear or fret!
Truly, God is greater and higher than any mountain we may face. If you walk through any dark valley, always know that God is your strength and safe place.
As you continually fill your heart with His Word you will have the faith to always overcome the world.
Today, despite the difficulties that may confront you, through faith in God, you can surmount them all.
No matter the enemy’s plan to frustrate or hinder you, as you call upon God in faith, He will exceed your every expectation.
As we praise God today, let us stay expectant because sudden turnarounds and breakthroughs will erupt around us. God will miraculously turn every mourning into dancing and do wonders in our lives that will cause men to marvel.
Prayer: Father, I thank You for being my way-maker and miracle-worker. In every challenge, I know You are able to take care of me and enable me to overcome always in Jesus Name.
