Ludwig van Beethoven was a German composer and pianist who is considered to be the world’s greatest composer. Beethoven crafted some of the most profound Christian classical music in history. However, by the time he was 40 years he was completely deaf, but that did not stop his creativity. Fueled by faith, he wrote masterpieces that are still enjoyed by the Christian world today.
Beethoven faced overwhelmingly difficult circumstances from the time he was born in 1770. His childhood and adolescence were marred by his father’s harsh discipline and alcoholism. While still a teenager, his mother died. His father couldn’t cater for the family and at only 19 years, Beethoven became their family’s bread winner. In 1792, Beethoven relocated to Vienna. During this time he quickly made a name for himself as a virtuoso pianist. Publishers soon began to compete for his newest works.
However around the age of 26 years, tragedy struck; he began to experience loss of hearing which was devastating to him as a master musician. But Beethoven determined with God’s help to succeed despite his disability. He devised methods to eventually compose some of the best symphonies of all times. And the amazing thing is that five of these best symphonies were composed when he was completely deaf. It is astonishing to study the complexities and beauty of his late works and to realize that, except in his imagination, he never heard them performed. Through his ordeal, he maintained a close personal relationship with God and was able to prevail and excel in his art and is celebrated today as one of the greatest musical geniuses the world has ever seen.

Failure will never overtake you if your determination to succeed is strong enough. In the journey of life everyone faces challenges. However, in order to succeed, we must first have faith that we can. You must have an inner strength and conviction, to keep standing no matter how hard the wind blows. What is pushing you forward has to be stronger than what is pushing against you. Your inner forte of faith must be stronger than the outer winds of doubt.
When The Word of God is strong in your heart, you can withstand any challenge. The Word births faith in you that pushes you forward, propelling you to overcome and triumph against all odds. Faith is the victory that overcomes the world and when you have faith, nothing can be impossible to you.[Mark 9;23].
To walk in the glory ordained for us this year, let us utilize this time of prayers to build up our faith. Preparation will always precede manifestation. Isaiah 40:4 says that before the glory of the Lord is revealed in our lives, “Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight and the rough places plain”. This is talking about preparation.
As we make a strong divine connection in this season of prayers, we will surely overcome every attack of the enemy. The momentary afflictions will end up achieving for us a far more eternal weight of glory.
In God, we have an immovable rock that we can always run to in times of trouble. Certainly, by His grace, this is our year to soar and break forth to unprecedented heights of glory.

PRAYER: Lord, please grant me a renewed and deep appetite for Your Word, so that I can have the faith to press forward despite trials and challenges. By your grace I will never miss my portion of glory this year in Jesus Name.
