Psalm 121; 4-7 ‘Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.’

About three weeks ago, police in Germany arrested suspects and foiled terrorist attacks on a synagogue and a Christmas market.
Only few days later, German and Dutch police stopped another planned attack and arrested four people on suspicion of being part of a cross-border Hamas terror plot in Germany.
These incidences have put several European countries on red alert. There has been warnings of the “huge risk” of terror attacks during the Christmas period.
This threat is linked to the ongoing war in the Middle East.
Christmas periods are usually times of heightened security in many countries because that is when some terrorist groups choose to unleash mayhem.
But despite their evil plans, there are often Media reports of miraculous escapes and divine deliverances.
A glaring example of this was what took place on Christmas Day of 2009. On that day, over 300 passengers aboard a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit were miraculously saved from a terrorist bomb because it refused to detonate.
A suicide bomber had boarded the plane and escaped scrutiny by hiding explosive powder taped to his leg. At the planned time, he had mixed the powder with chemicals in a syringe to create a bomb.
But when he detonated it, instead of the plane exploding, the device failed, rather it was his clothes that caught fire. The fire burnt off his trouser and left him naked and quite wounded with severe burns on his legs before it was put out by flight attendants. When the plane landed at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, he was arrested by the FBI. The passengers on the flight that Christmas day were grateful to God for His awesome deliverance.
Many times when the enemy thinks he has perfectly worked out his plans for destruction, God shows up and causes those plans to suffer a technical failure.
While there maybe security concerns as Christmas approaches, as the redeemed of the Lord, we have guaranteed protection through the Blood of Jesus.
As long as we abide in Christ we are exempted from the evil plots of the wicked
The truth is that today, there are constant evil attacks being engineered and sponsored by the devil around the world..
Psalm 91:5, talks about ‘the terror by night, and arrows that flies by day’
Psalm 55:10 also talks about the wicked who go around the city walls, day and night.
1 Peter 5:8 talks about the adversary, the devil, who goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour:’
But despite these attacks we are safely covered by the Blood of Jesus.
Our God, who never sleeps nor slumbers day and night, constantly watches over us. [Psalm 121: 3-5]
This is why we praise Him. We can never count the many battles God daily fights for us nor the many traps He helps us to escape.
Let us therefore today, deliberately and constantly bless the Lord at all times for being our shield and our refuge. We are grateful that His Name is a strong Tower we can always run into and be safe.
PRAYER;
Lord, I thank You for the power that is in the Blood of Jesus which covers me and my loved ones in this period. By Your grace, we are protected from every evil plan and will never become victims in Jesus’ Name.
