Psalm 124:7 ‘Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.’

As a teenager, Michael W. Smith had a passion for worshiping God through music.
He felt called into worship ministry at the age of 15. When he was 17 years, he dropped out of college, left home and moved out to Nashville to pursue a musical career. Michael’s first jobs took him to after-hours bars, where he found himself surrounded with temptations. Soon he was ‘sucked’ into the drug scene. He felt he could play with the fire and not get burned. But once he took the first dose of cocaine and LSD, he became addicted. And for the next three years he found himself in the biggest pit of his life. In November 1979, after he almost died from drug use, while lying on the floor of his kitchen, he cried out to God for help. And God in His infinite mercy visited Michael. God delivered him from the drug addiction and gave him a second chance. Within a year, he landed a job as a songwriter and thereafter got his own record deal. And from there, Michael W Smith rose to become one of today’s most recognized and respected Christian music artists – with 44 Dove Awards, three Grammys and more than 15 million in Album sales. Through his songs, he continually expresses gratitude to God for His mighty deliverance.
Michael’s story shows that God is able to transform any life and change the most impossible circumstances. No matter how terrible a person’s story may appear, it is never out of reach of God’s grace.
God knows how to fix our lives. He can make miracles out of your mistakes and turn your mess into a message.
This is why we should never give up under any circumstance because there is nothing God cannot change or accomplish in our lives.
At some points in our lives, many of us like Michael W. Smith had come close to death. But blessed be the Lord who has not allowed us to become the prey of the wicked, by His grace we have severally escaped the snares of the fowler. (Psalm 124:7)..
This year, some people started out the race, full of life and vibrant, but now they can no longer be found. That we are still here and alive is enough reason to continually praise and bless God for His amazing grace and mercy.
We praise God; because life is a privilege, not a right.
Yes, you may not be where you want to be, but neither are you where you used to be. We have come thus far only because of God’s grace. We must remain thankful that we are still in the game of life and have hope.
Ecclesiastes 9:4 says ‘For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.’
If you allow the enemy to control the narrative, he will point out the hardships and make you feel as if there is nothing to be thankful for concerning this year. But don’t you believe the lies of the devil. Don’t ever take it for granted that you are healthy and breathing. It is the Lord’s doing! And as long as we keep expressing gratitude to God we will not stop gaining altitude. Our story will continue to be from glory to glory and from victory to victory.
PRAYER: Lord, I am truly grateful for Your mercy, which has kept me this year and continues to keep me today. Thank You so much for Your unending goodness and love in Jesus Name..
