In 2001, Stanley Praimnath served as the Assistant Vice President of Fuji Bank, Limited. His office was located on the 81st floor of the South Tower of the World Trade center in New York City. As a born-again Christian he used every opportunity to grow spiritually and kept his Bible constantly on his office desk. On the morning of September 11, 2001 when terrorists attacked, he was standing near his desk, making a phone call, when he looked outside and suddenly saw a huge plane, flying straight towards him. Realizing it was going to hit the building, Praimnath cried out to God for help and dove under his desk. The plane slammed into the building and there was a massive fireball as the plane blew up. The only thing that was left unshattered was the desk where Praimnath was hiding under with his Bible on top of it. With the only exit door blocked, Praimnath cried to the Lord to help him.
His cry was heard by Brian Clark, another born-again Christian who was an executive vice-president with Euro Brokers. Brian decided to leave the group he was escaping with, to look for the man crying for help. That decision saved Brian’s life, because his group that left him behind and went ahead hoping to escape to the roof, all perished.
Brian Clark located Praimnath and helped him to come out of the blocked office. They managed to go down 80 flights of staircase and escaped the South Tower just three minutes before the entire building came crashing down.
Stanley Praimnath was the only known survivor from the impact zone of Tower 2. His office had been directly hit by the plane, yet God had miraculously delivered him against all odds.
Stanley and Brian’s miraculous survival was not by chance. The choice we make to sincerely seek and serve God puts a seal of divine exemption upon our lives. Without God’s mercies, no amount of smartness or caution can protect any man.
Romans 9:16 says ‘So then, it is not of him that willeth nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.’
Though we live in a dangerous world, God continually preserves us by His love and mercy.
This is why we need to constantly give Him praise, because He is our keeper and protector. If it had not been for the Lord on our side, where would we be?
Therefore, as we head towards the end of this year, let our focus be on praising God because He has been good and faithful to us. He has severally delivered us from the grave and kept our enemies from rejoicing over us. [Psalm 30:1-4]
Even if somethings did not seem to go the way we had anticipated this year, we still keep blessing the Lord, in everything, because we don’t know how worse things could have been or the hidden battles He fought us.
Living in a society where there are often news of terrorism, banditry, kidnappings, evil occurrences etc, it is certainly only by the Lords mercies that we have not been consumed.
We cannot possibly know all the details of God’s goodness to us this year, this is why keep expressing our gratitude to Him. Our God is good and faithful and as we keep praising Him in this season, surely He will cause us to break forth to greater heights of exploits and glory!
PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for guiding me, delivering me and ordering my steps this year. Please help me to always acknowledge Your divine help in my life and to continully bless You at all times in Jesus Name.!
