In November 1995, Army Major David Shublak set out for a routine morning jog near his home at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Moments later, tragedy struck. A speeding vehicle hit him, throwing his body violently onto the pavement. The impact caused devastating injuries—multiple fractures, severe head trauma, and critical brain damage. He was rushed to the hospital and placed on life support, with doctors declaring his condition beyond recovery.
While medical personnel prepared for the worst, his wife, Linda, chose a different response. Instead of surrendering to despair, she clung to God’s Word. One day, as she searched the Scriptures, her eyes fell on a promise that stirred her faith: “I am the resurrection and the life.” She held on to those words as a lifeline.
Against all odds, change began. After several days, David showed signs of life. Gradually, movement returned, and consciousness followed. What had been declared impossible became reality. David eventually made a full recovery, leaving doctors astonished and his family overwhelmed with gratitude.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ has guaranteed us resurrection from every grave situation in life.
Revelation 1:18 declares that Jesus holds the keys of death and hell. This means there is no situation so dark, broken, or hopeless that His power cannot reach and transform.
To deliver us from death, hell, and the grave, Jesus went to the Cross and paid the ultimate price and shed His Blood. This was the greatest demonstration of love the world has ever known.
Jesus did not remain in the grave; He rose again, turning despair into victory and darkness into light. During this Holy Week, let us constantly reflect on how Christ willingly went to the Cross, bore our sins, and overcame death—all because of His immeasurable love for us.
He is alive today, and His power is available to lift us out of any trials and afflictions of life.
In this new month of April, let us make the choice to practically walk in the love of Christ by obeying His commands and loving others genuinely. As we do, we will certainly begin to experience the benefits of His redemption and truly live the overcoming life Christ died to purchase for us at the Cross.
PRAYER
Lord, I thank You for the great love You demonstrated through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Today, please fill me with the grace to love selflessly so I can live victoriously in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
