Franklin Hall was a Pentecostal evangelist best known for his emphasis on prayer and fasting.
Hall wrote several books, including Glorified Fasting, The Fasting Prayer, and Our Divine Healing Obligation.
In 1946, he published a book entitled “Atomic Power with God through Fasting and Prayer”. The book, which provided detailed information on the methods and benefits of fasting, was an immediate success and brought Hall considerable fame. Many who read the book were motivated to go on extended fasts and begin to seek God for revival and the restoration of spiritual gifts to the church.
This led to a great movement of fasting and prayer that swept through America and then the rest of the world. Many of the healing revivalists in the Latter Rain Revival and Voice of Healing Revival used Hall’s Fasting methods in their meetings. The result of this was that starting from 1947 up till 1952, the great healing revival broke out. There were extraordinary miracles as many witnessed mighty manifestations of God’s power with thousands of conversions and extraordinary testimonies.
Truly, praying and fasting are non-negotiable requirement for spiritual power.
Walking in power is not determined by how long you have been born again. It is a function of how fervently your heart pants after the Lord and how willing you are to pay the required price to seek Him.
Those who eventually emerge as giants of the faith are those who are willing to seek and serve the Lord at any cost. Today we celebrate Paul the Apostle but in 2 Corinthians 11:27, he details some of the price he had to pay.
He said ‘In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness..’
Paul fasted often and this empowered him to overcome many oppositions and serve the Lord fervently.
To maintain our spiritual fervency, fasting is not optional, it is a practice every believer should always engage in periodically to be spiritually recharged. With the worsening state of affairs in the world, there’s a growing need for a spiritual awakening that will shake every believer out of slumber.
Indeed we are living in a very critical time on the earth right now. It is a time when no believer can afford to be spiritually insensitive.
To stay spiritually alert, we need to be committed to waiting upon God and walking in line with His Word. As we fast and pray and fervently seek God, His divine empowerment will come upon us and trigger an outbreak of miracles, signs and wonders in our midst.
PRAYER: Lord, I thank you for the grace to continually wait upon You in this season. Please help me to wake up from every spiritual slumber and align myself to Your plans and purpose for me this year in Jesus Name.

When God places His hand upon a man in life nothing can come against him, this is because the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. WORDBITE 222
