Cornerstone Ministries International has been training believers and delivering Bibles into restricted nations especially North Korea since 1985. Their executive director, Peter Lee, recently shared a testimony of one of their trainees.
After receiving ministry training at their China office, this female trainee from North Korea had returned home to her husband who was a long time drunkard. He had refused to change despite her prayers. One day he came home drunk and started ridiculing her Christian faith and her going to train in China. She became angry and yelled back at him with anger and resentment.
When he threatened her with violence, she ran out of the house, vowing never to return. Burning with anger and walking several miles without destination, she suddenly had a divine encounter. She saw clouds form a cross before her and a jolt of electricity went through her body, then she heard the still small voice of the Lord correcting her for not reacting with love and patience towards her unsaved husband. As tears began to roll down her cheeks, she repented of her attitude before God and decided to return home. But on getting there, she found her husband had left and did not return for several days. She then decided to fast and pray for five days for his salvation.
After two weeks, her husband returned home sober and shared a strange experience. He told her that some days earlier he had choked and almost died when he tried getting drunk and since then he had lost every appetite for liquor.
She realized that God had taken away his appetite for alcohol – on the day she finished her fast!
From then onward, he became a new man, he stopped drinking and eventually surrendered his life to Christ.

In Matthew 17:21, Jesus told His disciples that why they could not handle the situation that confronted them was because the kind of demon involved could only go out through prayer and fasting.
Today’s generation is dealing with a lot of such ‘kinds’ in fierce demonic oppositions to relationships, families, health, finances etc.
If you’ve been fighting an uphill battle in any area and it seems your prayers have not been effective, you may be dealing with such ‘kinds’ that require an addition of fasting.
Why some repetitive problems appear to defy solution is because they have deep spiritual roots that must first be dealt with.
Always remember that our wrestle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the high places (Ephesians 6:12).
Fasting and praying is a spiritual weapon that shatters demonic barriers and makes the way for the flow of miracles. When we pray, we have the potential of igniting the explosive dynamic power of Heaven in our circumstances.(James 5:16).
Therefore, in this season of fasting and praying, we can expect to see the mighty release of God’s power that will destroy hitherto impossible barriers in our lives.
Let us get ready to experience yoke breaking anointing that will destroy longstanding hindrances and enable us to break forth on every side. Because praise precedes the victory, let us begin to give God worthy praise in expectation of our desired breakthroughs and miracles this year..

PRAYER: Lord, by Your grace I draw the strength to persevere in this season of prayer and fasting. Thank You for causing me to be victorious over longstanding challenges and soar to great new heights in Jesus Name.
