Isaiah 53:5 [AMP] ‘But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed [of disease, bad memories, hurts, rejection]’
DAILY READING – • Luke 2:21-52; Ezekiel 38-39; Isaiah 61
Recently, the Christian Broadcasting Network [CBN] featured the amazing story of Marjorie Heitkamp. Marjorie used to be heavy smoker, until she gave her life to Christ and changed her lifestyle. But later in life when she was 38 years old Marjorie was confronted by the consequences of her former lifestyle.
In September of 2012, when a persistent cough wouldn’t clear up, she decided to see a doctor.
She was shocked to be told by her doctor that she had cancer in parts of her right lung which needed surgery to be removed. This devastating news made Marjorie and her husband to immediately resort to prayers. However, to their dismay, it was further discovered that she had bone cancer, a rare and aggressive type for which there was no treatment protocol. The oncologist’s best advice was high doses of radiation followed by intense chemotherapy.
When the treatment started, it was so intense the doctors warned Marjorie that she might not survive it. At that point she almost gave up hope, believing her life was over. However, though her chances of survival were slim, she made the choice to fight the fight of faith. She held on to God’s Word, listening to scriptures, and continued praying fervently.
The daily radiation regimen made her grow weaker every day. And after one round of chemo, Marjorie had a bad reaction that rendered her unconscious, and nearly comatose. However, at that point Marjorie had a divine visitation. A zap of energy went through her body, like electricity. Knowing that God had divinely healed her, she sat up in bed and began to declare that she was healed.
Against the doctor’s advice, Marjorie and her husband decided to stop treatment. Despite the oncologist’s warning that she would be dead within six months, the couple went home, holding on to their faith. Three months later, Marjorie went for her first cancer check-up and it came up negative. And every test she has done ever since has been negative. Years later, she has remained cancer-free, and today Marjorie goes about sharing on the power of prayer and how Christ is still the Healer.
doing everything she could to stay encouraged.

When Marjorie initially began to pray and her condition only seemed to worsen, she could have given up and accepted the doctor’s verdict.
But she pressed on until her answer came.
Perhaps you too have been praying about a serious concern in your life. Though it may sometimes look as if nothing is happening, we must learn to persist in the place of prayer, engaging the weapon of the Blood until victory comes..
Jesus paid a high price at the cross to ensure we are redeemed from every oppression of darkness.
Galatians 3:13 says ‘Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:’
Those verses reveal an exchange that took place when Jesus hung on the cross. It states in the Old Testament in the book of Leviticus that anyone who dies by hanging on a tree is a curse.
So when Jesus hung on the cross He took upon Him our curses that we might receive His blessings.
Isaiah 53:5 [AMP] says ‘But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed [of disease, bad memories, hurts, rejection]’
Today, no matter what battle you may be facing in your health, finances, relationships be assured that the price for your victory has been paid at the cross. By the power in the Blood of Jesus you will not be defeated; you will surely overcome and every test will end in a big testimony for you.
PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for Your continual faithfulness and Your Word that never fails. I know You have heard my prayers and my answers are on the way. And no matter how things may appear, I know that, You are indeed working it all out for my good, in Jesus’ Name.
