Though he was a famous musician, being Jewish made Wladyslaw Szpilman to be stripped off all his wealth during the Holocaust.
After the German army invaded Poland, the Nazis sent Szpilman’s family to live in ia ghetto with other Jews. In this ghetto, Jewish business men, doctors, scientists, and top professionals in every field were forced to live in poverty and squalor.
In August 1942, they were lined up for deportation to Treblinka – a horrifying death camp built by the Nazi for the killing of Jews.
As others boarded the train, when Szpilman was also about to board, a policeman suddenly pulled him out and told him to escape.
Szpilman lived in hiding as the war intensified. He was alarmed one day when a German military unit moved in and set up base in a building where he was hiding. Shortly after, a German officer named Wilm Hosenfeld, discovered him! Amazingly, instead of arresting or shooting him, this officer allowed him to continue hiding in the house attic and occasionally brought him food and clothing. With the help of the German officer, Władysław survived. At the end of war, he picked up his career as a famous pianist and continued to play in concerts around the world. His story is recorded in the movie ‘The Pianist’.
By divine intervention, Wladyslaw Szpilman escaped close calls with death more than once.
Lamentations 3:22 says ‘it is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.”
This verse does not just say ‘mercy’, it says “mercies”. This means that again and again, God shows up to show us mercy and deliver us from the snares of the enemy. The miraculous help of God is one of the vital mysteries of life. Our survival does not depend on our strength or our five physical senses. We all need God’s help to survive the evils and troubles of this world.
One way we attract divine help is by trusting in God.
Psalm 28:6-7 says “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him’
When our heart trusts in God, He will always arise to help us. Therefore, let us continually fill our hearts with the Word so that our faith and trust can be built up to continually enjoy divine help at every time of need.

As you stand in faith and constantly bless God, every setback will turnaround to become a divine setup that will catapult you to your next level of glory.
PRAYER, Father, please help me to diligently study Your Word so that I can develop great faith and trust in You. I know that even right now You are making a way for me through Your saving grace in Jesus Name.
