Deuteronomy 28:1 ‘And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth…’

Japanese pilot, Mitsuo Fuchida, led the bombing of Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. It became one of the most successful aerial attacks in history. As a result he was highly decorated in the Japanese air force but also became greatly hated by Americans soldiers. He was especially hated by a young American bomber pilot, Jacob DeShazer, who longed to revenge against Japan for the attack.
The opportunity came for DeShazer when he became a part of the very first bombing raids over Japan. But after dropping his bombs on the city of Nagoya, DeShazer was forced to bail out when his plane ran out of fuel, He ended up being captured by the Japanese army.
The maltreatment DeShazer suffered in prison for two years made his hatred of the Japanese to only grow deeper. However, in 1944, someone gave him a Bible and through reading it, his life became totally changed. He surrendered his life to Christ Jesus and as a result his hatred for the Japanese vanished and instead he began to pray and witness to them. When the war was over, DeShazer was released and returned home to America.
However, after training to be a missionary DeShazer returned again to Japan. He established a church in Nagoya, the very city he had bombed. His ministry impacted thousands of Japanese people, among them Fuchida, the Japanese hero, whom DeShazer had once deeply hated for bombing Pearl Harbor. Fuchida had one day received a Gospel tract written by DeShazer titled, “I Was a Prisoner of the Japanese.”. As he read the story of how DeShazer’s life was transformed through Christ, Fuchida was fascinated. Despite his traditionally Buddhist heritage, he bought a Bible and began to read.
After reading the climactic story of the Crucifixion, Fuchida surrendered his life to Christ on April 14, 1950
His conversion made big News Headlines in Japan. And though friends and family tried to persuade him to discard “this crazy idea”, he remained steadfast in his new faith. He later began travelling as an evangelist around the world, sharing the story of his conversion and the transforming power of God’s Word.
It is truly amazing how these two soldiers experienced positive life transformations through their encounter with God’s Word. Indeed the seed of God’s Word will always birth the harvest of a positive change.
The truth is that life is essentially a seed time and harvest time adventure. The harvest we reap is determined by the seeds we sow. To experience a positive change of story, we must pave the way for glory, through sowing the seed of God’s Word.
Joshua 1: 8 tells us that meditation in God’s Word will lead us to good success.
Success is not an issue of chance, but of choice. And if a successful life is our goal, then diligent study of God’s Word must be our choice.. As our soul prospers through feeding on the Word, our lives will naturally prosper in all aspects.
The truth is that no one ever gets out of life more than what they put into it. Likewise, our height of glory will be determined by our depth in God’s Word.
Right now, we are in a season of divine release and supernatural harvest. It is our season to see double for our troubles. In this season God is dealing bountifully with His people and releasing a harvest of overwhelming blessings into our lives. But the key to unlocking our harvest is alignment with His Word.
Indeed God’s instructions will lead us to distinction. His ways will lead us to the highways of life and laying hold of His commandments will put us in command of life’s affairs.
And as we diligently hearken to His Word in this season, God will indeed set us up on high and cause His blessings to chase us down and overtake us. [Deuteronomy 28]
PRAYER: Lord please help enable me to continually sow the seed of Your Word in my heart so that I can reap my supernatural harvest in this season. Thank You Lord for the overflow of Your blessings upon all my endeavors in Jesus name.
