The Moravian Brethren is one of the oldest Protestant denominations. It was founded in 1722 when persecuted Christians found refuge on the estate of Count Nikolaus Zinzendorf in Germany.
Count Zinzendorf was a man very passionate about Christ. As he welcomed more persecuted Christians to his estate, they soon became a thriving community of believers, where love reigned.
However, after a while, internal division arose when a false preacher named Johannes Sigismund Krüger infiltrated the community and began to spread divisive and fanatical messages. His influence caused discord until he was arrested and committed to an asylum.
Disturbed by the divisions, Count Zinzendorf worked to restore unity. During a communion service where the brethren pledged to love one another and rededicate their lives to Christ, the Holy Spirit powerfully descended, sparking a revival. Following this revival, the Moravians committed themselves to a 24-hour daily prayer chain, which lasted over 100 years and influenced future revivals around the world.
The anointing of the Holy Spirit flows in the place of love and unity!
The Early Church understood this secret; that was why they carefully avoided strife in their midst and endeavored to stay in one accord.
In Acts 6, when the enemy tried to bring in confusion over the sharing of food, the apostles immediately waded in and stopped the growing division.
One of the devil’s tactics is called ‘divide and rule’.
Often, he uses this strategy to create division amongst people so as to give him room to rule over their affairs. Anywhere there is disharmony in marriages, homes, families, churches, organizations, relationships, etc., it opens spiritual doorways for the enemy to bring in oppression and afflictions.
To stop people from receiving their miracles, the enemy breeds strife, hatred, and discord, knowing that it hinders the flow of the Spirit.
But we are not ignorant of the devices of the devil. This is why we must continually maintain our love walk under all circumstances. God is love, and when we walk in love, we abide in Him.
When we keep our hearts tender and love people despite their faults or wrongdoings, it causes the Holy Spirit to draw closer to us.
As the Spirit dwells in our midst, He will move mightily in manifestations of diverse miracles, signs, wonders, unprecedented breakthroughs and breaking forth on every side..
PRAYER: Lord, today, I receive the grace to shine the light of Your love wherever I go so as to attract greater Presence of the Holy Spirit in my life and experience His amazing wonders in Jesus Name.
