George Mueller was an evangelist and great Christian leader of the 19th century. He is considered one of the greatest men of prayer and faith who ever lived.
While crossing the Atlantic in August 1877, their ship ran into a thick fog. George explained to the captain that he needed to be in Quebec by the following afternoon, but the Captain said that he had to slow the ship down for safety and Müller’s appointment would have to be missed.
However, Müller determined that nothing would hinder him from keeping the ministry appointment he had in Quebec. Knowing the power of prayer, he then went into the ship’s chart room to pray for the lifting of the fog. After the prayer, Muller was confident that his prayer had been answered. At that moment the captain came into the chart room and Müller asked him to go and check again and he would find that the fog was gone.
When the two men went back to the ship’s deck, they indeed found the fog had lifted, and Müller was able to keep his appointment. The ship’s captain, was so amazed by this miracle of answered prayers that he became a Christian shortly afterwards.
In the journey of life there will often be conditions like a “thick fog” that will try to delay your appointment with destiny.
You need to refuse such hindrances and keep pressing forward in the assignment God has called you to. It is true that sometimes life’s race can be marked with hurdles of challenges and discouragements, but prayer is the weapon that God has given us to break through such obstacles.
No matter how formidable ‘the fog’ that is trying to stop your progress, when you persist in prayers, God will clear every hindrance from your path.
God has given us the awesome power of prayer to crush the oppositions to our advancement and have it the way we want it.
Indeed you can have whatever you desire in accordance with God’s Word through the privilege of prayer.
Mark 11:24 says ‘Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.’
As we journey to the end of the year, the enemy would try everything to stop the fulfillment of the great prophecy of wonder spoken over us.
However, those who will arrive at this glorious destination of wonder are those who are willing to trust God and persevere against all odds.
Confronted by adversity, many people give up, but they that do know their God will be strong and do exploits.
Indeed we must remain strong and courageous as we fight a good warfare to see the speedy fulfillment of every prophetic word hanging over our lives.
Strength is demonstrated by the confidence, audacity and the courage to pray until adverse circumstances bow to God’s Word in your life.
Certainly, as we engage the power of prayer, study of God’s Word and praise, we will overcome every hindrance and arrive gloriously at our destination of wonders this year.
PRAYER: Lord, Please help me to always focus on the study of Your Word, consistent prayers and praising You always. By Your grace, I shall arrive at Your glorious destination for me this year in Jesus Name. .
