In 1942 two teenagers got married who would later greatly impact the world. Tommy Lee Osborn was only 18 years and his wife Daisy 17 years, but they had a great vision. Soon they began to pastor a church in Portland, Oregon.
After a female missionary from India ministered to their small congregation, the Osborn’s felt an instant calling to international outreach.
They moved to India to begin missionary work. However, despite all their efforts, they couldn’t convince the Hindus and the Muslims to accept Jesus. Filled with frustration at their failure on the mission field, they returned to their church in America.
Seeing how powerfully God was using evangelists like William Branham and Gordon Lindsay, they realized that lack of power had been the missing ingredient that led to their ministry failure in India. As they hungered for the manifestation of God’s power, they embarked on the study of God’s Word, prayers and seeking counsel from anointed ministers of the Gospel.
They were challenged to go into days of fasting after reading Franklin Hall’s book, “Atomic Power With God Through Fasting and Prayer’.
After fasting for some days T.L. Osborne had a divine encounter that marked the beginning of the miraculous in their ministry. When they hosted the first healing service in their church in Portland, they saw amazing miracles and healings. From there they began to travel to other countries, preaching the Gospel and seeing mighty miracles. On their return back to India, they preached the Gospel with power and saw many souls saved. Afterwards they ministered in huge crusades in different countries and impacted millions of people globally through God’s power.

Fasting and praying is a secret key that unlocks the door to a higher level of impact and influence.
There are unseen ceilings that limit people from progressing to higher levels in their calling. Despite how hard a man works, he may find himself in the same spot every year.
To break through invisible barriers this year 2024 and break forth on every side, we need to engage the power of God.
It takes a genuine encounter with the Anointing to announce you to your world.
Jesus was publicly unknown for 30 years, but when He returned from 40 days of praying and fasting there was an eruption of power in His ministry and His fame spread abroad.[ Luke 4:14-19]
To move from local to global in our operations, power is a necessity.
Glorious prophetic declarations have been made over us this year, but to see their manifestations, the power bill must be paid.
It is in this season of fasting and praying that we become adequately empowered to overcome the forces of stagnation that will try to hinder our breaking forth on every side.
This New Year holds great promises, but for every new level there is a new devil and for every open door there are adversaries.
Let us therefore prepare for victory by repositioning ourselves spiritually.. By digging deeper into God’s Word, prayer and fasting, we will experience an outbreak of light that will flush out the forces of darkness and usher us into unlimited breakthroughs and progress.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the grace to pay the required spiritual price to see Your power manifest in my life this year. It is certainly my time to break forth to higher levels of success in every area in Jesus Name.

JANUARY 9; BREAKING YOKES THAT RESIST OUR BREAKING FORTH!

Jonathan Edwards was the catalyst and foremost preacher of the Great Awakening which was one of the most intense outpourings of God’s Spirit in American’s history.
After his pastoral training, Jonathan Edwards had moved to Northampton, Massachusetts, to become the assistant pastor to his grandfather, Solomon Stoddard. After his grandfather died, Jonathan became senior pastor. He labored at Northampton for 21 years.
His intense life of prayer, fasting and studying the Bible led to the break out of a revival in 1735. As the revival swept through Northampton, overnight, the town was transformed. The citizens sang hymns in the streets, the tavern closed, the young people pursued God in bands, and it was impossible to get into church unless one arrived hours early.
By 1740, like a great flash flood, the Great Awakening rolled through New England. In July 1741, Jonathan Edwards accepted an invitation to preach at the neighboring town of Enfield, Connecticut. This town had remained spiritually dry, even in the midst of this Great Awakening.
Before going to Enfield, Connecticut, Edwards fasted for three days. When he got there, he delivered his now famous sermon “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God”. His text was taken from Deuteronomy 32:35, and before the sermon was done, fire fell from Heaven and there was a great moaning and crying throughout the hall as the people repented massively and turned to God.

The stubborn yoke of spiritual resistance over Enfield was broken, when Jonathan Edwards engaged the power of fasting and praying.
The truth is that some kinds of stubborn spiritual yokes will not be broken except with the combined force of prayer and fasting.

Matthew 17:21 says: ‘Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting’

Some resistances will continue to persist, even get stronger until you decide to fast. Therefore in this season of waiting on the Lord, it is an ideal time to tackle any lingering mountain and stubborn yokes that seem to have defied solution.
Persistent challenges in your health, family, finances etc can all be handled in this season. Apart from the known problems, this season of fasting also presents an opportunity to deal with the unseen mountains and future hurdles the enemy may want to plant in the path of your progress this year.
As you begin to come against them with God’s Word, surely every such resistance will crumble. God has programmed fasting as a way for us to break stubborn yokes and destroy evil oppressions.
Fasting releases the yoke-breaking anointing that facilitates speedy answers to prayers.

God says in Isaiah 58:6-7 ‘Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?’

God has designed fasting to loosen bondages, undo heavy burdens and destroy yokes. It is our passport to freedom from every demonic hindrance. Therefore as we engage in fasting and praying, it will be the time to overcome every resistance and break forth into glorious new heights. Let us praise God for divine elevations because as we wait upon the Lord, we shall renew our strength and mount up with wings as eagles.

PRAYER: Lord, by Your grace I am overcoming every stubborn resistance to my progress and rising to glorious new heights of destiny in Jesus Name.

Great preachers of past generations who were mightily used by God were often led to fast and pray for certain periods in order to break through into greater realms of anointing and communion with God.
One of these was Reverend Walter Vinson Grant who was a renowned healing evangelist of the 20th century. In his ministry, there were diverse testimonies of healings and deliverances that marveled many people. However, while many saw these outward manifestations of power, few saw the preparations that led to it.
As a minister of the Gospel, he was very hungry to see the power of God in his ministry. He constantly sought God, fasted, read many Christian books, and studied his Bible day and night. This was virtually his lifestyle for fourteen years.
In his book ‘’Must I Fast for Forty Days or Four Days’, Reverend Walter Grant spoke about how he was led to fast for a number of days. After the fast he received a divine visitation where the power to cast out demons was released upon him. After this encounter he began to experience a mighty flow of God’s Spirit.
This soon resulted in the eruption of amazing miracles, signs and wonders in his life and ministry. These manifestations of power brought him to global limelight, especially during the 1950’s healing revival that swept through America

There is a price to pay to see miracles, signs and wonders. If our desire is to see God’s power in our lives this year, then we must become prepared to pay the spiritual price of fasting and praying.
It is the believers who take time to wait upon God in this beginning month, that will eventually emerge as winners this year. They may suddenly appear, as if from nowhere with amazing testimonies, but their secret is the time spent in seeking God and building strong spiritual roots.
To bear fruits upward, you must first take deep roots downward. It is your depth in God that determines your height in life.
The truth is that what we do in this season of fasting and praying, will determine the outcome of the coming days.
Therefore there must be seriousness in our spiritual preparations if we are ever to reach our godly potentials and manifest God’s anointing to our generation.

2 Chronicles 27:6 says, ‘So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God.’
Preparation is the fundamental key in the school of success.
No matter how religious or dedicated we may be, if the price for power is not paid, it will be difficult to experience true progress and victory this year.
It is certainly our year to break free from every limitation, break forth on every side and arrive at glorious heights.
Today, let us receive the grace to pay the price to win the race before us. As we sow the seed of fasting and praying in this season, surely, we will soon reap the harvest of our desired miracles in all areas of our lives.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the great and mighty things You have in store for me this year. Please enable me to pay the price of spiritual preparation so as to see their manifestations in Jesus’ Name.

JANUARY 7; UNDERSTANDING THE BENEFITS OF FASTING.

Moved with compassion for the lost, Smith Wigglesworth began to fast and pray weekly when he was 20 years old. He fasted all day every Sunday and prayed, and he never saw less than fifty souls saved by the power of God as he went out to win souls.

Fasting was popular among many of the men and women that God used throughout Church history.

Famous intercessors, preachers and evangelists all practiced the discipline of fasting and prayer.

The great revivalist Charles Finney fasted every week. Whenever he felt less power in his ministry, he would fast two or three days. Then the power would return. He is one of the greatest and most anointed soul-winners of all time.

John Wesley, the founder of the Methodists, urged Church members to fast and pray every Wednesday and Friday until 4pm. He wouldn’t ordain a Methodist pastor unless he agreed to fast and pray on these days. During his life time the Methodist movement helped bring revival to Great Britain and then to America.

John Wesley would rise up at 4am every day to seek God for the first four hours of the day. In his later years Wesley was known to spend up to 8 hours in prayer.

The famous John Knox greatly impacted Britain and brought reformation through prayer and fasting.

Through engaging the power of fasting and prayer, these men accomplished great things for God and changed the course of history.

Everyone who has ever operated in the realm of power subscribed to the demands of prayer and fasting.

Foremost among Biblical examples of those who fasted and prayed is our Lord Jesus, who underwent a forty-day prayer and fasting expedition, and returned in the power of the Spirit to do mighty signs and wonders.

As we embark in this season of fasting we need spiritual understanding so that we don’t end up conducting a mere religious exercise.

The greatest benefit of fasting is getting closer to God to be empowered to triumph in life.

As your intimacy with God increases, doors begin to open for physical blessings in your health, finances, ministry, career, relationships etc.

Through prayer and fasting we are empowered to triumph over oppositions and accomplish God’s purpose for us.

The great and effectual doors God opens for us usually attract many adversaries and resistance from hell. [[1 Corinthians 16:9].

The truth is that it is impossible to achieve great exploits in God’s kingdom without prayer and fasting as a lifestyle.

We must therefore pay attention to this spiritual exercise not just as a Church doctrine but as a pathway to personal empowerment to enable us live victorious and rule in the midst of our enemies.

Indeed through the exercise of fasting, praying, study of God’s Word and fellowship with the Spirit, we will become outstanding in our generation and gloriously fulfill God’s purpose for our lives.

PRAYER: Lord, by Your grace my labour in prayers in this season shall never be in vain. Surely, I am emerging with greater power to accomplish exploits and truly be outstanding this year in Jesus Name. .

The American civil war was mainly fought over the issue of slavery. While the Northern states of America wanted an end to slavery, the Southern states wanted to still keep slaves. When they couldn’t agree the Southern states decided to secede. Starting with South Carolina, eleven states would eventually leave the United States and form a new country called the Confederate States of America. The North did not agree and this eventually led to the civil war.
The Battle of Gettysburg was the deadliest battle of the American Civil War. On the first day of battle, the Confederate army outnumbered the army of the Northern states, [also called the Union army] and caused them to retreat. However, the Union army reinforced and by the second day, there was fierce fighting throughout the day with both sides taking heavy losses. By the third day, the Union Army had defeated the Confederate Army. It is interesting that on the first day of battle the confederate army were winning and intimidating, but in the end it was the Union army that won.

Often at the initial stage of every battle the enemy comes with intimidating forces in an attempt to demoralize and discourage you.
Therefore in this beginning month of January, don’t be alarmed if tough battles seem to come your way. It is only a spiritual strategy to discourage you from making further progress. Therefore persist and persevere until you break through to victory.
In Joshua chapter 6, the people of Israel were ready to begin the conquest of the Promised Land. Their first obstacle was the formidable city of Jericho. It appeared unconquerable. However God said to Joshua ‘I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men”. God spoke of Jericho as having already been defeated, because the battle was The Lord’s. In obedience to God the Israelites marched round the city walls..
Joshua 6:16 says ‘And the seventh time it happened, when the priests blew the trumpets, that Joshua said to the people: “Shout, for the Lord has given you the city!

As the people gave God resounding shouts of praise, the walls of Jericho came tumbling down.
If the enemy has tried to hinder your first attempts this year with difficulties, you have what it takes to break forth to victory. Switch to praise because it is an unbeatable weapon in the battles of life.

PRAYER: Lord, As I praise You today, I thank You for causing every wall of Jericho resisting my forward movement this January to come tumbling down in Jesus Name.

Ji Seong-Ho is a prominent South Korean politician who is celebrated for his indomitable will for survival that propelled his escape from his birth country of North Korea.
Ji Seong-Ho grew up during the North Korean famine of the mid-1990s where 3 million people starved to death including his grandmother and many of his schoolmates.
In March, 1996, Ji Seong-Ho himself almost died after an accident where a train crushed his left leg and hand and left him a cripple. After his recovery, using crutches and hobbling on one leg, Ji embarked on a 6000 mile journey to escape from North Korea where the suffering was much.
During the most difficult path of his journey, while crossing a steep mountain he thought he would die there in the jungle, because he had no strength left to carry on. At that point Ji began to weep and prayed saying, “If there is a God in this world, please save me,” he cried.
Ji’s prayers were answered. God helped him and he made it safely to South Korea in 2006, where he converted to Christianity, with the firm belief that Jesus had helped him in his journey to freedom.
South Korea opened for Ji the door to a better life; he was granted citizenship, received a prosthetic leg from the government and achieved his dream of obtaining a university education. Today, he is an activist and politician who helps to rescue people from North Korean.

If Ji Seong-Ho had not taken steps to change his situation, he could have died in obscurity as a cripple in North Korea.
When he stepped out to make a change, God showed up with the grace that enabled him to make the journey.
Stepping out in faith, means doing what you can and then God will do what you can’t do. When you do the natural, God will do the supernatural.
There is so much God wants to do with our lives this year. There are territories to be explored and new chapters of exploits to be written. Therefore we cannot stay back in fear and continue to hug our comfort zones.
This year, we must dare to be different and accomplish the extra ordinary through the help of the Spirit of God. It is time to say goodbye to every spiritual laziness and laxity, and begin to really live with spiritual fervency.
As we keep focusing on God’s Word, faith will be imparted in our heart to go forward and do incredible things. Keeping our mind on God’s Word is crucial because that is what causes us to have the faith to break forth into higher realms of exploits.
As our heart trusts in God we will enjoy His divine help.

Psalms 28:7 says ‘The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.’
As we trust in Him, certainly, God can do far more than we could ever imagine or guess or request in our wildest dreams. [Ephesians 3:20].

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to step out in faith this year to do extraordinary things. By Your grace it is my season to explore new horizons and move to greater heights of destiny in Jesus Name.

Alexander Maclaren knew from his youth that he was called to preach and never considered any other vocation. He preached his first sermon at the age of 17. His potentials were so evident that even before his graduation from Bible School, he was invited to Portland Chapel in Southampton to pastor and revive a fledging congregation.  The Church originally seated 800 people, but by the time Maclaren got there, only 20 people were coming to the services. Maclaren labored there in obscurity for twelve years, but he used those  years of struggle as preparation for greater ministry. Rising at dawn, he would study for many hours, patiently meditating on each passage of Scripture while praying and communing with God.

As a result of this, the small Church began to grow and increase in population and prospered greatly. From there Alexander Maclaren was called to be minister at Union Chapel in Manchester. There also the church prospered and a new building had to be erected to seat thousands of people. As his renown of being an impactful preacher spread, he was twice elected President of the Baptist Union and was the first president of the Baptist World Alliance.  For sixty-five years he was entirely devoted to his calling and is today celebrated as the “the prince of expository preachers.”

Spiritual preparation is a fundamental key to our breakthroughs and success in life. The depths of our preparation will determine the heights of our manifestation. Having come into a new year, we need to spiritually prepare to be able to scale to great heights. With the rapidly changing scenario in the world today, no expert or analytical data can give a clear prediction of what this year holds. Only God knows what is ahead. Therefore we must seek His face to get a clear direction for our lives.

These beginning days of the year is a good time for a personal retreat, where you get away from distractions to hear God clearly. When you meditate upon Scriptures and spend enough time in prayers, you will certainly sense the direction God is leading you.

This is one year we really need divine direction and guidance. It is a time to really get close to God and carefully follow His plan.

In these last days, while there may be gross darkness in the world, it is God’s plan for His glory to be seen upon us. At this time, God is raising an army of believers who will command influence and dominate the world. Each of us has a place in this great army. Though it may seem you are in obscurity now, there is a divine plan for your breaking forth into higher realms. In the place of pain and sorrow, it is time to break forth into joy and singing. [Isaiah 52:9].

For every committed believer there is coming a supernatural turnaround this year. Our choice for dedication today will guarantee our celebration and elevation. Let us therefore become adequately prepared to follow God’s plans so as to break forth into the glorious new heights He has preordained for us.

PRAYER; Father I receive the grace today to set myself apart to seek Your face and hear clear directions from You. Thank You for preparing me to scale great heights this year in Jesus Name.

In one short week in 2012, Gabrielle Christina Douglas became a household name. The 16 years old girl suddenly broke out from obscurity to become world-famous after winning gold medals in the 2012 London Olympics.
Born in 1995 with a rare blood disorder, Gabrielle scaled several hurdles to rise to the top. Gabrielle’ journey to stardom was laid on a foundation of God’s Word and constant prayers. On the footage of any of her competitions, she could be seen moving her lips in prayers.
In an interview with CBN News, Gabrielle said she knew the road to the Olympics would not be an easy one, so she made prayer and Bible study a priority. She said those foundations kept her on track in her most difficult times. A time came when the odds seemed so great that she almost wanted to quit. But she had to rely heavily on her faith, praying fervently and meditating on scriptures. As a result of her spiritual commitment, she became fired up with faith to succeed and become an athletic celebrity. She became the first African American in Olympic history to be an individual all-around champion. She also became the first U.S. gymnast to win gold in both the individual all-around and the team competitions at the same Olympics.
Her story is captured in the book ‘Grace, Gold, & Glory: My Leap of Faith’. It is the incredible story of how she overcame tremendous odds to bring glory to God.

Through Christ we can break forth out of obscurity and break through to global visibility.
In Isaiah 54, God tells us to lengthen our cords, which means to lengthen our reach.
Though you may have been in obscurity it is time to “expand to the right and to the left, and your descendants will inherit the nations..” (Isaiah 54:3).
This year, you are destined to break forth on every side and experience unprecedented expansion. All you need to do is to be rightly positioned in Christ because through Him you can do all things.
With God’s help, nothing you imagine for your life this year will be impossible. Therefore raise the bar of your expectations. Enlarge your vision, make room for new things and increase your capacity to receive.
We must refuse to remain spectators, but rather become partakers of the year’s prophetic agenda. In all the wells we have been digging, now is our time to strike gold.
Do not limit what God can do in your life by limiting your spiritual responsibility. Therefore, let us commit ourselves to pay the price of prayer and diligent study of God’s Word so that we can see His glory manifested in our lives. By the Blood of Jesus we will not miss our portion of breaking forth on every side. It is indeed time to break forth in our health, business, career, family, relationships, etc

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the grace to keep pressing forward until I break forth and break through to glorious new realms and partake of the wonders You have ordained for me this year in Jesus Name.

John Alexander Dowie, was a famous U.S. evangelist and faith healer of the 20th century. On January 1, 1904, Dr. Dowie embarked on a preaching tour to Los Angeles. There, he was informed of a severe drought that had come to Southern California, and no rain had fallen for eighth months in the land. For a week the newspapers kept challenging Dr. Dowie to pray for rain. The reporters pointed out that if he was truly a man of God he should pray as Elijah of old prayed for rain after three and a half years of drought and his prayer was answered. One Sunday afternoon while Dowie was holding a service, the weather was particularly hot as California’s sun blazed down upon the scorched, dusty and dry land.
As he was ending his preaching, he dropped on his knees behind the pulpit and began to call upon God to send rain over the distressed land.
As he finished his prayer, a little while later the sky began to grow dark with rain clouds. People looked at one another with wonder and awe. At that point Dr. Dowie led the people in a prayer of consecration to close the service, then he pronounced the benediction, and said, ‘Get to your homes quickly, for there is sound of abundance of rain.’ But he was too late, just as the multitude turned to go, rain began to fall in torrents.
This incidence was widely reported, as a testimony of God’s miracle working power.

It is obvious today that the world is going through a time of instability. Especially last year, there was a widespread global economic drought that affected individuals and nations. But despite the spells of dry season last year, as a child of God, this year, rain is headed your way. This is your year to bloom, to blossom and to flourish.
It’s your year to break forth and break through into higher realms of opportunities. Though weeping may have endured for a night, your joy is coming ..” (Psalm 30:5, KJV).
As we step into this New Year, let us remember God’s Word in Deuteronomy 11:10-12 which says ‘The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.’
Egypt was the place of stress, sorrow, and struggle. But Canaan was the place of success, abundance, divine supplies, miracles and breakthroughs.
In other words, this New year we are coming into doesn’t have to be like last year we have just left behind.
Therefore let us not remember the former things, rather let us press forward in the high calling of God that awaits us this year. It is indeed time to break forth into new levels and move into the great and mighty plans God has for our lives.
Therefore let us step out in faith into this year believing God for divine elevations. It is certainly a wonderful new beginning for us. .

PRAYER: Father, I am grateful that You enabled me to see this brand New Year. Thank You Lord! Please grant me the grace to seek You diligently this year so as to experience a full manifestation of Your glory and the great things You have in store for me in Jesus’ Name.

Glacia Robinson is the author of the book ‘Sheer Inspiration’. She is a multi-award winning singer, producer and worship leader. She has a powerful testimony of being revived from the brink of death. She was sick for five and a half years with an illness that could not be diagnosed by doctors in Jamaica and the US.

The effects of the sickness made her so weak that she was confined to a wheelchair.
Eventually, the doctors gave up on her and said that there was nothing more they could do and advised her to get ready to die. They told her family to put everything in order for her funeral. Many people believed that she could never survive the sickness and rumours started flying about that she was already dead.

Though Robinson virtually lost everything, yet she never lost her faith in God. Through her ordeal, she continued to declare Psalm 118:17 “I shall not die, but live to declare to the works of the Lord.”

Despite the odds, she held on to prayers. She told God, ‘Lord, I know that You have a plan for my life…this is not how my end is going to look!” God indeed answered her prayers, miraculously healed her and gave her a new beginning. 2016 was a turning point year for Robinson as she defied all the doctors’ predictions. God raised her back to her feet and she returned to her singing career. Since then, she has produced five albums including the title – “I Shall Live. Today, her ministry extends into international missions, as she goes about testifying about God’s amazing deliverance power.

Today is a New Year and new beginning!
We are grateful that God gives us fresh starts and second chances.
Despite the challenges of the past, here we are, alive to see this New Year! Truly, God is not finished with us yet. His plan and His purpose still stands firm for our lives.
2024 has come with new possibilities, new hopes, new ideas, dreams and new opportunities.

This New Year is God’s present to us. It is the breaking forth of a new day and beginning of greater things! It is an opportunity to arise from the ashes of the past and press forward to the mountain top of greater victories.
It will be a year of divine suddenlies and inexplicable blessings. Despite the gross darkness in the world we shall arise and shine. In the midst of the global drought, we shall be hearing the sound of abundance of rain.

1 Kings 18:41-42 [NLT] says Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go get something to eat and drink, for I hear a mighty rainstorm coming!”

It shall be our season to see great and mighty things as we call upon the Lord in prayers. Miracles will be happening in our lives at a pace and rate men cannot understand or explain. It will be our year of divine shifts, liftings and promotions as we remain sensitive in the spirit and commit to a higher degree of Consecration.
By God’s grace it will be our time to break away from every shackle of shame and break forth into a glorious new season of greater blessings, miracles, signs and wonders.

PRAYER: Lord, from the very depths of my heart I bless You for enabling me to see this New Year. Lord I am truly grateful. I thank You for Your faithfulness and I am confident that it is my year to see even greater blessings and miracles in Jesus Name.
