The last days of the year is the period for the world’s most popular celebrations; Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. For many people, this is the time for partying, frolicking, drinking, overeating and fun seeking. Unfortunately, in the midst of these festivities, many people throw caution to the wind, resulting in calamities.
A recent CNN report said several studies show people have a greater chance of dying on Christmas day, the day after Christmas or New Year’s Day than on any other single day of the year.
A historical victim of this Christmas time calamity was Colonel Johann Rahl, who was a commander of the British troops in Trenton, New Jersey. On the night of December 25, 1776, General George Washighton who was leading the American troops, crossed the Delaware river on his way to attack Commander Rahl’s troops. A Loyalist to the British army who had seen Washington’s forces gathering quickly sent a messenger with a note to Rahl to warn him of the impending attack. But because it was Christmas day, Rahl and his men had momentarily let their guard down to celebrate. Rahl was playing cards when he was handed the warning note of the approaching enemies. But he was so occupied with the game, that he placed the note in his coat pocket and didn’t bother to read it until the game was finished. By then Washington’s troop was already upon them. Rahl and his men were easily overcome in the battle and slain.

It is good to celebrate and enjoy the fun and festivities of the season. But as believers, we should never allow ourselves to become spiritually distracted.
As we celebrate, we should remain spiritually sensitive and prayerful because this is the season when the forces of wickedness work overtime to turn people’s gladness to sadness.
Therefore, while we are on a physical holiday, we must never go on a spiritual holiday. We must remain constantly alert, sober and vigilant because there is an enemy that prowls about looking for whom to devour.[1 Peter 5:8]
Knowing that we are living in perilous days on earth, we can’t afford to live carelessly. At all times let our focus be on drawing closer to God and doing His will.
While the enemy works to increase the death rate this season, let us work with God’s help to bring most men to the saving knowledge of Christ. As we connect and communicate with friends and families at this time; let us use every opportunity to point them to Christ. The best gift God has given to mankind is sending Christ to the earth for our redemption. Let this be at the center of our celebrations. For this reason let us continually bless and thank God for His amazing love manifested through the birth of our Lord and Savior

PRAYER: Father, as I celebrate this season, please help me to stay focused on the real reason why Jesus came to the earth. Enable me to share Your love with those around me and to shine Your light for all to see in Jesus’ Name.

Today, many non-christian nations around the world are greatly attracted to the glitter and sparkle of Christmas. They have adopted nearly every of its traditions except the spiritual significance of the season.
For instance Christmas is celebrated in Japan in a very big way. Yet Japan is nearly 99% Shinto and Buddhist and only about 1 percent of the population are Christians. Christmas in Japan is not even a national holiday, yet it has blossomed into a colorful and cherished time of the year.
The celebration blends modern festivities with uniquely Japanese traditions, creating an enchanting season that stands out from other Christmas celebrations around the world.
Their Christmas Eve is often celebrated more than Christmas Day. The Japanese Christmas Eve resembles Valentine’s Day celebrations in the UK and the USA. On that day, couples spend time together, exchange presents, go for walks to look at the Christmas lights and have a romantic dinner with a plethora of stunning illuminations dotting every corner.
The Japanese follow the western Christmas traditions of exchanging gifts, singing yuletide songs, decorating trees, special seasonal treats etc. They make a big fuss over St Nick, Rudolph, Frosty and santa. Their santa is sometimes dressed like a Samurai.
This Japanese celebration is not about the birth of Christ, rather it is only a cosmetic and commercial event that is enjoyed for its unique traditions, rather than its spiritual significance.

While the world may focus only on the glitter of Christmas, our focus should be on its spiritual value to us
Certainly, Jesus did not come to the earth to establish the commercial chaos that the world today calls Christmas. He came to execute God’s plan to destroy the devil and set men free.
Jesus came to fulfill the promise that God made in Genesis 3:15, which was that the Seed of the woman, would crush the head of the serpent.
Indeed the arrival of Jesus at the manger in Bethlehem marked the beginning of the destruction of every works of darkness.
1 John 3:8 says ‘..For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Jesus came to bring an end to the enemy’s threefold agenda of killing, stealing and destroying.
Therefore the celebration of Christmas is the celebration of the Child that was born to save the world and set it free from bondage. We rejoice that God’s Son has come to free the captives and lift the burdens of men. His coming to earth means that God has come to tabernacle with man. He is our Jehovah Shammah – the Lord Who is there. He is our ever present help in every time of need. In the darkest of nights, in the toughest of trials, Jesus is the friend that sticks closer than a brother. He is our way-maker and burden-bearer. He comes as the fourth man in the fire to rescue us. Therefore let this season be a celebration of the coming of our Savior and deliverer who will never leave us nor forsake us.

PRAYER; Father, I thank You for sending Jesus for my salvation and deliverance. Please enable me to go beyond the festivities of this season and continually praise and celebrate You all the days of my life in Jesus Name.

Christ’s birth changed the entire course of the world!
His birth was an event so important that it divided history.. Today, the western calendar groups history into events Before Christ (BC) and events Anno Domini (AD), that is, After Christ.
The baby that was born in Bethlehem remains the greatest central fact of the world. He has powerfully impacted all strata of society and every nation. Jesus’ message has been the primary contributing factor for the emergence of major fields in health, education, science, government etc . For example, nurse Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern patient care services, was motivated by the teachings of Jesus Christ. Nearly all of the first universities in England and America were started by Christians. The most prestigious and oldest universities in the world such as Harvard, Cambridge, and Oxford were founded upon Christian Biblical principles.
Today, the constitutions of the Western world, also in the civil codes and criminal procedures, are based on the Ten Commandments
The impact of Jesus on science is undeniable. All the early scientists such as Galileo, Newton, Copernicus, Kepler, Pascal etc, were Christians who saw science as a means of uncovering traces of God’s handiwork in the universe.
Christianity which Jesus founded remains the most widespread religion of the world. Today, Jesus continues to powerfully impact and change the world as no other leader in all of human history.

Today is the birthday of this Amazing world changer!
2,000 years ago, the world forever changed when He was born.
As we celebrate the birth of our Saviour and His impact, we also celebrate the fact that our lives have been eternally changed by Him. We have been redeemed to follow in His footsteps and live as world changers. As the Father has sent Jesus, so has He sent us (John 20:21).
We are ordained to be kings and priests to reign on the earth (Revelation 5:10).
There is no ordinary person in redemption because every believer is destined to be a pacesetter and trail blazer. We are to be the head and never the tail, to be above only, and never beneath(Deuteronomy 28:13.)
Obedience to God’s Word is the key to our divine placement. As we keep following Him each day, inch by inch He gradually leads us into the place of global impact He has destined for us.
Today, as we celebrate the birth of Christ, let us also be reminded that as Jesus is the vine, so are we the branches. Let us keep praising God because as long as we are in Christ we are headed towards an enviable destiny of being world-changers, trail-blazers and difference-makers in our generation.

PRAYER: Lord, I praise You for redeeming me to be a world-changer. I thank You for enabling me to powerfully impact my environment and manifest as a sign and wonder to my generation in Jesus Name

DECEMBER 24; BIRTH OF OUR SHALOM – OUR PRINCE OF PEACE!

An inexplicable truce occurred in the middle of World War 1, which was one of history’s most brutal wars. By Christmas Eve of 1914, the war had been raging for almost five months. When Pope Benedict XV called for a Christmas truce, the idea was officially rejected. But something amazing happened on the Western front. No one knows how it actually started, but on that Christmas Eve, there was sudden peace on the warfront.
German soldiers began singing “Silent Night” in German, and the British soldiers on the other side of the great divide joined in English. These men sang Christmas carols in two different languages – in the middle of a war. Soldiers who hours before had been attempting to kill one another were now singing together about the wonder of Christ’s birth.
The next morning which was Christmas Day, soldiers from the British and German sides, all climbed out of their trenches, unarmed. Between them was the area regarded as “No Man’s Land.” The soldiers walked across this area and exchanged gifts of drinks, food and even souvenirs such as hats and buttons. There was even a report of soccer matches between these enemy troops.. This amazing true event of 1914 was captured in the 2002 movie titled ‘The Christmas Truce.’

This Christmas day truce was a peace that still baffles historians. But it is significant of Christ’s birth. He came to bring peace that passes all understanding.
His saving power has made it possible for believers to have peace even in the midst of wars, woes and troubles in the world.
Isaiah 9:6 calls Him the ‘Prince of Peace.’
At the cross, He paid the price for our peace.
Isaiah 53:5 says that the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. He was beaten to bring us shalom.
Shalom is a Hebrew word that means peace, harmony, completeness, prosperity, welfare and tranquility. It means wholeness – nothing missing and nothing broken.
Jesus is our shalom, and as long as we abide in Him through His Word, we can have inexplicable peace and joy despite the storms in the world.
Though fear and anxiety may be gripping the world, our insurance remains the assurance of God’s Word. In John 14:27 Jesus said “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Through Christ we never have to be afraid or have our hearts troubled. He has come to calm our life’s storms. He has come to be our bridge over troubled waters. It doesn’t matter what tempest you may be facing today, as long as Jesus is in your boat, you will never sink.
Though there may be tribulations in the world, we remain of good cheer, because in Jesus we have peace [John 16:33].
May this Christmas mark in our lives the beginning of a new season of wholeness, soundness, joy and the peace that passes all understanding.

PRAYER. Father, I thank You for granting me Your peace that passes all understanding. Let the celebration of the birth of Christ truly mark a new season of complete peace, joy and tranquility  in my life in Jesus Name.

In 1988, 16-year-old Anissa Ayala discovered some mysterious lumps around her ankles, but didn’t tell her parents because of her fear of doctors. However, she later experienced such excruciating stomach pain that her parents rushed her to the hospital where she was subjected to a battery of tests. The specialists came back with a diagnosis of chronic myelogenous leukemia. They said without a bone marrow transplant, her life expectancy was estimated to be at five years at the most.
But no bone marrow match could be found for Anissa, her older brother and her parents also proved to be unsuccessful matches. In desperation, her parents took the remaining option of giving birth to a new baby, with the hope that the baby’s bone marrow would match Anissa’s. But the odds were high for such a conception. The mother was 43 and her 49-year old husband had already done a vasectomy, which he had to reverse. But miraculously, the mother did conceive and saw it as a sign from God, that all would be well.
When she gave birth on April 3, 1990, the baby girl was found to be a perfect donor match for her sister. Anissa had a successful bone marrow transplant and made a full recovery from Leukemia. Their story was turned into a film in 1993, with the title; “For the Love of My Child: The Anissa Ayala Story.”

To save the life of Anissa Ayala, it became necessary to birth a child. To save mankind, a deliverer was born into the world 2000 years ago. At that time there was a penalty of death hanging over humanity. There was gloom and doom over the destinies of men. To save mankind, God orchestrated the birth of our Savior King as the first step in His redemption plan. Christ’s birth was the promise of salvation and His death was the fulfillment of that promise.
Jesus came to the world to be the final and ultimate sacrifice for sin. His birth, death and resurrection represents the greatest victory over evil that has ever been accomplished in human history.
May Christmas be a constant reminder that God is now with us through His son, called Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14 ) Therefore affliction is not permitted to arise a second time in our lives.
Let this season strengthen your faith in God who loved the world so much that He sent His only begotten son to save us. Let it assure you that His endless love will carry you through any challenge you may face today. The God who sent His son 2000 years ago for man’s redemption, will certainly send you help out of Zion and orchestrate destiny helpers to assist you at every point of need. Therefore let this season, be a time to deliberately praise Him for the great and mighty things He has done and will continue to do in our lives. By His grace this year shall conclude for us with a definite testimony of indeed breaking forth on every side.

PRAYER; Father, I thank You for sending Jesus into the world to save me. I am grateful Lord, that through redemption, I have been delivered from every curse to live a glorious life in Jesus Name.

Christmas shopping was Donna Molnar’s destination when she left her home one morning in December 2008.
When she didn’t come home by afternoon, her family reported to the police. By that time, weather conditions were horrific, with heavy winds, blowing snow and cold temperatures.
The next day, being Saturday afternoon, officers found Donna’s SUV parked by a roadside and so they launched a full-scale search for her. About 20 police officers and trained volunteers searched the area with the help of all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles and police search dogs.
The search team covered several square miles, without success.
Three days later, being Monday, they were set to call off the search, believing she was dead. But around 12:30p.m one of the police dogs started pawing at the snow near a pond. The dog’s handler began digging at the spot and dug through the snow to find Donna Molnar lying underneath.
Surprisingly, she was still alive, though suffering from severe hypothermia. She was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors were amazed that she survived being buried for three days under the snow.
As many media Networks reported the story, she was severally described as a miracle.
Indeed to her family, her survival was seen as a Christmas gift from God, who preserved her life to stop them from sorrowing in that festive season.

At a time when everyone had almost given up, God suddenly showed up and delivered Donna from death.
In the same way spiritually, when we were without hope in the world, Christ came and rescued us from death and gave us the gift of new life in Him.
Just as that woman lay in the snow helpless and hopeless, that could describe the spiritual condition of many of us before Christ found us.
In the past, many of us can relate to the feelings of helplessness that we used to have as we struggled with sin in different areas of our lives. Our repeated attempts to be free from bondages only resulted in failures that produced chronic hopelessness to the point where we gave up trying. Broken and crushed, buried in sin and doomed, Christ found us and rescued us.
As our spotless Passover lamb, He shed His Blood to break the yokes and bondages of sin and addictions in our lives.
This divine rescue of our soul is what we celebrate at Christmas. We have to keep in mind that this season is not all about the gifts under the tree, but about the One who died on Calvary’s tree to redeem us from death.
Let us remember the baby who was born in Bethlehem’s manger, to take our place in death and grant us the gift of eternal life! This is indeed the true reason for the season!

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for divinely rescuing and preserving me through the precious Blood of Jesus. Thank You Lord, for sending Your Son into the world to bring an utter end to every oppression and affliction in my life in Jesus Name. .

As a young couple, Stephen and Aimee Woods, were excited to welcome their first child. But they faced a devastating ordeal when Aimee developed severe preeclampsia during her pregnancy. Aimee’s complications led to an emergency delivery at 33 weeks. Their daughter, Ella, was born on December 18, 2013, fighting for her life with pulmonary hypertension.
Amid frantic medical efforts, Ella’s condition worsened. Overwhelmed with fear, Stephen spent one night crying out to God for guidance and heard the word “Believe.” He returned to Aimee, declaring with conviction that Ella would survive and come home. Their faith was tested as Ella’s doctors prepared them for the worst, allowing them to hold her for what seemed to be their final goodbye.
At that moment when all hope seemed lost, Stephen shifted from prayers to praising God. Miraculously, in her darkest moment, Ella opened her eyes, signaling a dramatic turnaround. Her vital signs improved, stunning doctors and nurses.
Against all odds, Ella recovered fully and was discharged less than a month later. Today, she is a thriving, healthy girl, who has come to be known as the ‘Christmas Miracle baby’. She is a living testimony of the power of God that manifests in praise. Ella Stephen’s story has been featured on the Christian broadcasting Network [CBN] and other Christian media networks.

Just as Ella Stephens received a miracle in the Christmas season, there is a testimony for anyone who keys into the significance of this season.
Truly, there’s something miraculous about Christmas. There’s a perceptible change in the atmosphere and it seems Heaven begins to smile upon the earth.
Being part of the year’s end, it is the time when God crowns the days with good things. Therefore Christmas is a time for receiving Heavenly packages of good things.
One way to attract our own miracle package is through engaging in praise and thanksgiving.. According to Mark 16, signs and wonders are meant to follow you as a believer, but it will take praise to make it happen.
Looking at Jesus’ ministry, we see profound miracles as a result of praise.
In John. 6:5-12 when He fed 5,000 men in the wilderness, thanksgiving was what multiplied the loaves. And also in John 11:41-44, at the graveside of Lazarus, praise was what brought him back to life.
Also in Acts 16, praise bailed Paul and Silas out of their mid-night ordeal. After they prayed and then switched to praises, God showed up and brought deliverance to them.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 tells in every thing to give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning us.
In this Christmas season as thanksgiving proceeds from the depths of our hearts to God, it will be a time of supernatural outbreak of great testimonies and unending celebrations for us.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the blessings of this Christmas season. I know that even now You are at work in my life to turn tests and trials into amazing testimonies for me in Jesus Name.

As a pastor and Gospel musician, Jason Sluyter was filled with excitement when he got a new job working with a Church in a new city. But in the midst of this fresh chapter of his life, Jason received the devastating news that he had stage 3 cancer.
Over the course of a grueling hospital stay, Jason underwent multiple surgeries. But despite the treatment, the cancer aggressively advanced to Stage 4. Doctors told him he could never be able to sing or preach again. Thirty-five rounds of radiation later, Jason had lost 80 pounds and was left unable to speak or taste food. When his pain reached unbearable levels, Jason began to think of suicide. But his wife Alyson chose to fight differently. One day, when all hope seemed lost, she began to praise God and sang over Jason. At that moment God’s Presence entered the room and Jason began to receive new strength. It marked a turnaround and gradually his health began to be restored until he was fully healed. And today Jason is cancer-free and expresses his deep gratitude to God through his music. His amazing testimony which spread worldwide through the social media has inspired many people to faith in Christ.

There is a mystery about praise that miraculously turns around situations. The atmosphere of praise is the supernatural atmosphere of the presence of God, which will always make the difference in any situation.
The birth of Jesus is what granted us access to God’s presence and brought the possibilities of Heaven closer to us. Before Christ came man was separated from God because of the fall. But through Him we are now reconciled to God and can experience miracles, signs and wonders.
Jesus has come as our Savior, our healer and our deliverer. His birth over 2000 years ago, was God’s invasion of planet earth to set humanity free from the bondages of darkness and draw us closer to Him.
Jesus is our Emmanuel, God with us. [Mathew 1:23]. He is our eternal hope of salvation. Without Him we had no hope. But today, through Him, every chain of captivity has been broken off. He has delivered us from death and our feet from stumbling, that we may walk before God in the land of the living (Psalm 56:22-23).
Through Christ we are now able to serve and worship God in spirit and in truth.
As we draw close to Christmas, let us continually thank God for the gift of His son, who came to the world to open up a new and living way for us. By Him we have been granted access to God’s presence where there is fullness of joy and pleasures forever more.

PRAYER: Lord, I truly appreciate You for sending Your son to die for me and bring me closer to You. Thank You Lord for Your amazing goodness to me this year and the mightier things You are set to do in my life in Jesus Name. .

On Christmas Day, 1989, the military leader of Panama, General Manuel Noriega was defeated through a military tactic called ‘music torture.’
‘Music torture’ is a psychological warfare where an enemy is forced to listen non-stop to a sound or music he hates until he surrenders.
As the leader of Panama, General Noriega’s rule was marked by corruption and violence. When the people of Panama organized protests against Noriega and demanded his ouster, he declared a national emergency, shut down radio stations and newspapers and forced his political enemies into exile. When the US failed to get Noriega to resign, President George H.W. Bush authorized “Operation Just Cause,” which saw U.S. troops invading Panama.
To avoid arrest Noriega holed himself up in the Vatican’s embassy in Panama City. Even when the embassy was surrounded by US troops, he refused to give himself up. Since The US army could not trespass into the embassy, they decided to use psychological warfare – by blasting a wall of rock music non stop. It was a kind of music Noregia hated, being rather a lover of opera music.
The US army blasted Noregia with this kind of music for days until he couldn’t take it anymore. On 3rd January 1990, he surrendered himself to the US army. Noriega was flown to Miami the following day and was later convicted of drug trafficking, money laundering and racketeering. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

“Music torture” can also be deployed as a spiritual warfare weapon, where you blast the enemy with sounds of praise, until he flees.
You can safeguard your environment from every demonic harassment by maintaining a steady flow of Songs of praise. As you do so, you will abide in a heavenly environment because Heaven is a place of nonstop praise.
Songs of praise is a sound that irritates and terrifies devils. Hearing believers praise God can drive the enemy nuts. Therefore, you can defeat him by organizing a praise assault or praise warfare. When you engage in nonstop praise, demonic activities will be flushed out from your environment.
Your greatest guarantee for victory in every battle is God’s presence, and praise is what it takes to get God on the scene. A place of continual praise is an environment where God’s presence dominates.

Psalm 114 talks about when Israel left Egypt, and God became their sanctuary. Due to the Presence of God with them Verse 5 to 7 says ‘The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
The sea, hills, mountains which represented problems were trembling and running away because of the Presence of God that surrounded Israel. In the same way, you can enjoy divine presence that destroys evil attacks against you through engaging in continual praise.
As you praise God, He will arise and all your enemies shall be scattered.
As we engage in praise warfare in this season we shall surely fulfill the year’s prophetic agenda of breaking forth on every side and keep going from victory to victory and gloriously finish well and strong.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for granting me the grace to praise You continually. As I praise You  today, I know that every enemy of my life and destiny will surely flee faraway from me in Jesus Name.

In December 1997, Janice Mendonca was miraculously healed while she was in Church praising God.
Before then she had received what looked like a death sentence; when she was given a diagnosis of cancer with no hope of cure.
Janice had gone to the hospital after experiencing difficulty in swallowing.
When the doctors conducted an endoscopy test, it showed she had esophageal cancer. Though the news was devastating, Janice who is a Christian didn’t accept the verdict, rather she put her faith in God.
A few months later she attended Sunday service at Bethel church, in Redding, California.
During the time of worship, as Janice began to praise God, she felt a burning sensation that began to spread all over her body.
As she continued to praise God, she felt the power of God come upon her so strongly that she could barely stand. She had to sit down and continued praising God.
When the service was over, she knew she had been healed and told her husband so. To confirm her healing the next day, she went for another endoscopy at the hospital where she had been diagnosed. After the examination the doctors couldn’t believe the new result. There was no longer any evidence of cancer.
Janice had been miraculously and completely healed while she was praising God.
Her story was featured in Sid Roth’s show ‘It’s Supernatural!’
Today, she has a prayer ministry where she encourages people to look to Jesus for healing and delivrrance.

Praising God in the midst of adversity is a powerful expression of faith that releases His miracle-working power.
Praise will always lift us out of the pits of problems and set our feet upon a rock..[Psalm 40:2-3]
In those times when it seems we have a good reason to feel down, we must discipline ourselves to always give God thanks in everything (I Thessalonians 5:18).
Depression will only give room to the oppression of the enemy but thanksgiving leads to our uplifting.
Through praise Jesus can raise you from the bed of sickness and open to you doors of healing and restoration.
This is what He died at Calvary to purchase for us. By the power in His Blood, He is able to blot out the handwriting of the ordinances that are against us, and give us a miraculous change of story.
Therefore, instead of complaining over your health, choose rather to thank God for healing and restoration. Instead of being discouraged over your finances, choose rather to thank God for overflowing abundance.
God crowns the year with good things, so we are in a conducive season for miraculous testimonies.
Tap into the season by giving God worthy worship.
No matter what is happening around you today, give God all the glory! Declare His goodness. Thank Him for what He will yet do in your life.
As you do so, get ready to see negative verdicts miraculously overturned because God is fearful in praise.

PRAYER: Lord, Please grant me the grace to always give you worthy praise in every situation. Please help me to look beyond problems and trust You always because You are too faithful to fail and I know You working all things together for my good in Jesus Name. .
