MARCH 3 : TURN YOUR PRESSURE TO PRAISE!

1 Peter 2:9

‘But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light’.

DAILY READING 1 Corinthians 10; 2 Kings 3; Amos 8

The Wall Street stock market crashed in October 1929. This economic Crash was fueled by the prosperity and massive economic boom enjoyed in the 1920’s, which led to high consumerism, easy credit schemes and increased debt. At this time stock brokers encouraged people to buy stocks with loaned money. As

A result many people borrowed huge amounts of money to buy stocks.

However the economy began to contract and share prices began to slowly fall. Those who had borrowed money were required to pay back their loans all at once. Of course many people didn’t have the money to pay back, and this led to panic.

The stock market went into free fall. And on Tuesday, October 29, 1929, a day nicknamed Black Tuesday, stock prices completely collapsed. Between $10-$15 billion was lost in just one day due to the plummeting share prices.

During this period, thousands of people panicked because they couldn’t repay their loans. Many seeing a bleak and hopeless future committed suicide. Yet had they waited a little while longer, they would have seen that the situation was not as terrible as it first appeared.

Panic comes from the Greek word to choke off. What happens when anyone panics is that air is  choked off from the brain. Which means that the person can no longer think clearly leading to wrong decisions. Panic short circuits the nervous system, and keeps a man from thinking rational thoughts.  This is why no matter the situation you face, always avoid panicking.

Rather learn to build up strength in your inner man by The Word of God, so that whatever happens, you are upheld by The Word within you.

Understand that God is always in control. Nothing ever takes Him by surprise. And He will never allow any temptation greater than you to come your way. With every temptation, He will always make a way of escape.

Therefore whatever you are confronted with, take the situation to God in prayer and trust Him for a solution. Don’t let the enemy ever deceive you that any problem is too much for you. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. As long as you hold on to God, He will always see you through.

Instead of panicking in any situation we should rather switch to praise. In an atmosphere of continual praise, there are no pressures, only pleasures. In God’s Presence is fullness of joy and at His right hand pleasures forever more.

So what is that battle you are faced with? What is that challenge? Cheer up and give God worthy praise. And you will find that in your praise is your victory!
PRAYER: Lord, help me to always praise You in every situation. Indeed You are bigger than  my problem., As I praise You I know You will cause everything to work together for my good, indeed my mourning shall be turned into dancing  in Jesus Name.

MARCH 2 : TOO HOT TO HANDLE

Psalm 68:2

‘As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God’

 DAILY READING – 1 Corinthians 9; 2 Kings 1-2; Amos 7
An experiment was carried out in a science class, in which the teacher charged water in a basin with a measure of electricity, and put some money in the basin. He then told the class that anyone could have the money who would be able to take it.

Excitedly One of the students reached in his hand, but as soon as he touched the water, all power left the nerves and muscles of his hand, and he could not take the money.

Others with stronger nerves and muscles tried, but not one could succeed over the power of the electricity. No matter how physically strong each student was, when their arm came in contact with the greater electrical power in the water, their arm became weak.

The power of the electricity was simply greater than the power they possessed, so they were overcome and none could take the money.

This somehow demonstrates how demonic forces are rendered useless when they come in contact with an atmosphere of God’s presence.  Such an environment is dominated by The Holy Ghost, and so becomes a no fly zone to every devil. A no-fly zone or air exclusion zone, is a territory over which aircraft are not permitted to fly. In a Holy Ghost zone, no witch or wizard can be able to fly. In a Spirit filled environment, every devil loses his ability to operate. This is why as a child of God you must constantly keep your environment charged with The power of God, through constant prayer, praise and declaration of God’s Word.

You can’t afford to live a powerless life in this era, it is too dangerous. The Bible records that when the evil spirit is cast out, and comes back and finds the place garnished but empty, it goes and brings back seven more wicked devils. This is talking about anyone who may be outwardly garnished and decorated, but inwardly void of Holy Ghost power.

Ephesians 6 lets us know that we are not wrestling with flesh and blood but against principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness in high places.  In this ongoing spiritual battle you will survive based on the level of your spiritual power. Jesus severally admonished believers to watch and pray and to live ready.

Peter 1: 8 tells us to be sober and vigilant, because the enemy is going about as a roaring lion, seeking whom to devour. You become too hot for the enemy to handle, when you maintain a prayerful and praise-full atmosphere constantly around you.

Psalm 27: 2 says ‘When the wicked, even mine enemies  and my foes came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell’

When you are defended by the power of God, anytime evil forces try to access you they stumble and fall. When the Roman soldiers came to arrest Jesus they all fell flat on their faces. They could only touch Him because He allowed it so that scriptures can be fulfilled.

Let us therefore keep our environment constantly Charged with God’s power. We are in a battle, soldiers who are careless in battle become victims. Do not allow yourself to become a cheap prey through spiritual carelessness and laxity.  Give no room to the devil.  Let the fire on your prayer altar constantly keep burning and never go out.

When we bless The Lord at all times and His praise is continually on our lips, we create an atmosphere where God inhabits. Such an atmosphere is charged with power. It is an atmosphere too hot for any evil to gain access.

Psalm 68:2-3 says ‘As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.’

In Zechariah 2:5 God says He will be unto us a wall of fire round about.

We must therefore consciously maintain God’s Presence around us.  And this we do by keeping our loins girded and our lights constantly burning.

Indeed when we are surrounded by God, we become too hot for any devil to handle.
PRAYER: Lord, Please help me to always keep my environment constantly charged with Your Power. Indeed by Your Presence that surrounds me, my life has become too hot for any devil to handle  in Jesus Name..

MARCH 1 : A NEW SEASON OF GREAT THINGS!

Hebrews 10:19-20
Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh,

DAILY READING – 1 Corinthians 14:1-25; 2 Kings 8; Jonah 3

The month of March is the month in which the season of spring starts. After what is often a cold winter, February eventually gives way to March, where the spring season begins. And as the season progresses, new life springs forth from the earth; flowers start to bloom, trees bud, a crisp freshness fills the air.

Originally, in the ancient Roman calendar, March was the beginning of the year. In that calendar, the year started on 1st  March and consisted of only 304 days or 10 months. These 304 days were followed by an unnamed and unnumbered winter period.

However this lapses of an unnamed period, made the Roman calendar confusing. In order to clean up this mess, a calendar reform was required. In 45 BC Julius Caesar introduced the Julian calendar. The next year, 46 BC was even more confusing, it became a year with 15 months and 445 days; it has been aptly termed “the last year of confusion”.

Thereafter the Roman king, Numa Pompilius, introduced February and January between December and March, increasing the length of the year to 354 or 355 days. In 450 BC, February was moved to its current position between January and March.

Though a bit confusing, the  Roman calendar provided the historical background for the Christian calendar, that we use today.

What is important to note is that March as recorded by the ancient calendar is a month of new beginnings.

When the children of Israel were about to pass over from Egypt and embark on their journey to the promised land, it marked a new beginning. Their passage from the old to the new, was marked by the shedding of blood at the Passover.

In this first day of the month of March, we have come into a new season. And it is by the blood of Jesus that we can gain access into the glorious things God has for us.

When the blood of Jesus was shed at Calvary the veil was torn. Hebrews 10:19-20 states that we, have boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh

By the blood of Jesus, we are no longer strangers to the covenant of promise. We can enter boldly beyond the veil, into the Holies of Holies.

By the blood we have come into new beginnings.

We have been pruned from old things and old ways, so that we can enter into a new season of growth  and strength.

Living beyond the veil means living in power. We have come from a low life to a higher life in Christ.  It is a supernatural life where we have become a sign and a wonder.

In ancient times in Rome, March was also the time of conquest, when warriors go forth to win battles. With the winter frosts melting and the ground becoming fertile for harvest again, March was historically the perfect month for both farmers to resume farming, and warriors to resume warring.

Incidentally, the U.S Pentagon still seems to agree with this Roman tradition: with the exception of the recent War on Afghanistan, almost all major US-NATO led military operations since the invasion of Vietnam have begun in the month of March. Examples of these are the Vietnam war which started in March 8, 1965, Iraq war which started March 20, 2003, and the war in Libya which started in March 19, 2011; all follow the trend. Indeed March is a month of great victories.

Spiritually for us in this season, March is a month of forward movement. It marks our new season of living beyond the veil. In this new month we are going forward into the new and great things God has ordained for us. By the blood of Jesus, we have crossed into a new terrain. You are arising into the prophesied Eagle’s flight. Perhaps in January and February you were taxing down the runway, but now you have lifted into the air, soaring on the eagle’s flight. Indeed it is a new and great day for you in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for the new season You have brought me into. Indeed by Your grace, I am soaring higher into the great things You have ordained for me this year.

in Jesus’ name.

February 28 : OUR GOD IS MIGHTY TO DELIVER!

Isaiah. 54:17

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shalt condemn” .

The Jewish celebration of Purim this year, starts in the evening of today 28th February 2018. Purim, also Known as “The Feast of Esther”  is the Jewish celebration of divine escape from the massacre prepared for them by Haman, the grand vizier of the Persian King, Ahasuerus.

As Jews led by Mordecai and Queen Esther, fasted and sought God’s face, the table was turned in their favor. Haman was hanged and on the 13th of Adar, which was meant to be the day of their destruction, the Jews instead destroyed their enemies. On the 14th of Adar they rested and celebrated the victory God had given them.

In 1953 there was a replay of what happened in the book of Esther. At this time the soviet Union was under the leadership of Joseph Stalin. He was known as the mass murderer of the century, having overseen the deaths of about 20 million of his own people.

At this time, Joseph Stalin had perfected a plan to annihilate the Jews in Russia. The signal to this brutal plan was to be given on March 6 1953, with the trial of some Jewish doctors, who had been falsely accused by Stalin of plotting to poison him.

On March 3, 1953 Stalin called a meeting of top Soviet leaders and presented to them his proposed plan of public execution of the accused doctors, followed by a pogrom against all the Soviet Jews, which would lead to

transporting them to remote places in the Arctic. There they would meet a slow death in the forced labor camps prepared for them. He anticipated that none of the leaders would dare to oppose his evil plan. However he was shocked when they outrightly opposed him. As a feared dictator of the Soviet Union, it would be the first daring opposition of his plan by his leaders.

Overcome by great anger, Stalin suddenly suffered a massive heart attack and  collapsed at the meeting. Two days later, on the 5th of march he died, just a day before his planned execution of the Jewish people. His sudden death came as a great miracle for the 3 million Jews in the Soviet Union. The false accusation against the Jewish doctors was cancelled immediately and they were released.  Stalin’s death saved the Jews in the Soviet Union from a catastrophe similar to Hitler’s annihilation of the 6 million Jews in the holocaust.

It is remarkable that the timing of Stalin’s death would be on Purim, the day of the downfall of Haman. Just as Haman died before he could execute his evil plan, Stalin also died just before he could begin the extermination of the Jews.

Again today marks another celebration of Purim. Purim 2018 begins tonight, Wednesday February 28 and continues through Thursday, March 1.  The lesson of Purim is that God delivers His people. In Gen 12:3 God says ‘I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse;’ Haman, was a descendent of Agag, the king of the Amalekites. The Amalekites, hated the Israelites and treacherously attacked the unarmed Israelites when they passed through the Sinai desert during the exodus. The Lord pronounced a curse to blot out the remembrance of the Amalekites. It was by this curse, that divine judgment came upon Haman. Therefore, today, every Haman or Amalekite plotting your destruction the curse of The Lord is upon them. Everything and everyone contesting your glorious destiny God’s divine judgment will locate them. It is our season of deliverance. God desires that through His manifold wisdom, the Church would disarm all principalities and powers, and rule over them. We are in that age now. And as you key into this season through a closer walk with God, your dominion over every opposition is established. Your deliverance from every evil plot is certain. Whosoever shall gather against you must fall for your sake, and every tongue that shall rise against you in Judgment, you shall surely condemn in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: Lord, please in this season of Purim, let your deliverance be made fully manifest in my life. Let Your divine judgment come upon everything contesting my glorious destiny in Jesus Name.

FEBRUARY 27 : YOU HAVE THE VICTORY

Psalm 16:5-6 NIV

Lord, You are my portion and my cup of blessing. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

DAILY READING -1 Corinthians 12; 2 Kings 6:1-7:2; Jonah 1
On May 15, 1967, as the people of Israel celebrated Independence Day, the Israeli government received bad news. It learned that Arab nations of Egypt, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq, backed by the soviet union, were ready to invade and attack Israel.

Obviously Israel was no match for such a mighty coalition. Israel turned to the United States for help, but the United States refused to intervene.

Thus Israel was left alone to fight its formidable enemies. The Jewish nation cowered at the thought of facing the Arab coalition that  possessed more than twice the number of tanks and four times the number of aircraft Israel had.

The Israeli government solemnly prepared for a massive slaughter. They readied hospitals and designated whole national parks as cemeteries for the anticipated casualties. A spirit of fear and despair hung over the nation. It seemed that the dream of a Jewish state, so recently realized, was about to be snuffed out.

The Arab nations gleefully anticipated the coming massacre. The president of Iraq declared, “The existence of Israel is an error which must be rectified. Our goal is clear—to wipe Israel off the map.”

In Israel people spoke pessimistically of a looming second Holocaust, but some Jewish rabbis predicted a miraculous salvation, quoting from Deuteronomy 28:10 they said that through God’s intervention and Israel’s victory “All the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you”.

And indeed God gave Israel amazing victory.

On June 5, Israeli Air force, through a preemptive strike  wiped out the Egyptian and Syrian air forces while they were still on the ground.

Thereafter Israel launched a ground offensive into the Gaza Strip and the Sinai, catching Egyptian troops completely by surprise. Israeli tanks and ground forces advanced so rapidly that, the Arab forces scarcely had time to react.

By the second day of the war, the Arab Coalition  had fallen into some kind of confusion. Orders from Egyptian commanders contradicted good sense, calling for unnecessary retreats and withdrawals. The Egyptian army fled their positions, leaving their heavy equipment behind. Israeli ground troops advancing into the Sinai found numerous Egyptian positions simply abandoned, with tanks and heavy armor left in perfect condition. They acquired so much abandoned Egyptian armor that after the war they had enough to outfit five new brigades. It became the shortest war in history.  The Arab coalition were defeated. In a matter of six days. Israeli troops captured over $1 billion worth of Soviet-supplied armaments.

In one week’s time, Israel’s land increased from 8,000 to 34,000 square miles, or four times its original territory. Israel had gained Palestinian territories of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, Gaza Strip, as well as the Syrian Golan Heights, and the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula. It was a victory that shocked the world.

And 51 years after the six day war, Israel’s victory still cannot be explained. Several history books have been written trying to understand Israel’s amazing victory, but there seems no plausible explanation to it. It simply was a divine act of God.

What was meant to be the darkest night in Israel’s history became its brightest day.

2 Chronicles 20:17 KJV says

‘Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.’

Obviously in the six day war God fought for Israel. Part of the miracles of the war was the Jewish recapture of Jerusalem. Biblically it had been predicted that Jerusalem would be back in the hand of the Jews before the end of the age. So what happened in the six day war was simply a fulfillment of God’s preordained plan and purpose.

Long before Israel went into captivity in Egypt, in genesis 15;13-14 God had already predicted their enslavement in Egypt and eventual deliverance. In other words what happened to them did not take God by surprise because it was part of the plan.

We have come into a change of time and a new season. Realize that everything that has happened in your past have all worked together for the manifestation of God’s divine agenda for you in this season. God is about to surprise every enemy fighting you and give you an amazing victory.  It could be the enemy of sickness, poverty, stagnation etc, whatever it is, God is about to give them a technical knockout.

In boxing there is what is called a ‘fixed fight’. This  is where the outcome of the match  has already been determined, the result has been set, and the fighters only just go through the motions in order to get their money.

Looking at the transaction at Calvary we can understand that for us every  fight has been ‘fixed’. When Jesus said ‘it is finished’ our victory was established forever. The outcome of every battle we will ever fight has been predetermined, and we are only just going through the motions. All we need do is to align with the will of God and our victory will be made physically manifest.

Therefore we do not fret about what tomorrow holds, because we already know who holds tomorrow..

It is not the physical fight that will determine our victory, but what God has already done in the spirit. The end to your story has been predetermined. The fight is fixed . The line has fallen for you into pleasant places. And  indeed you have a goodly heritage.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to see in every situation confronting me, the victory you have already won for me in the Spirit. Indeed I am victorious in every battle  in Jesus name. ….

FEBRUARY 26 : GREAT TREASURE WITHIN YOU!.

2 Corinthians 4:7
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

DAILY READING – 1 Corinthians 11:17-34; 2 Kings 5; Obadiah 1

The most successful race horse so far in world history is a Hungarian horse named Kincsem. Born in Hungary in 1874, she won all her races at various race tracks across Europe, with a record still unbeaten.

However it is quite interesting that when Kincsem was born, its owner had no idea of its great potential.

She began life as a horse whom nobody wanted to buy because  she was too common looking. When her owner put her up among a group of seven Horses for sale, the buyer only chose five of the better looking horses, abandoning Kincsem and another horse.

Left unsold, her owner decided to keep her.

Among his other horses, Kincsem alone was lanky and ungainly. However one night Kinsem went missing. As the owner searched for her she was eventually found with a gypsy thief, who had stolen her.

Kincern’s owner was puzzled that the gypsy thief, had his choice of more  magnificent horses to steal, yet chose to steal such an ungainly horse.

“Why, steal this horse?” he asked the thief.

“Because,” answered the gypsy, “The other horses may be better looking, but she’ll be a champion.”

Obviously the thief  had a better insight than Kincsem’s owner.

Thereafter, in 1876. Kincsem’s owner began to put her forth for races. She  entered for ten races in ten different places in Germany and Austria and she won them all.

And from then on, she began to win every race she was placed in.

Kincsem was the toast of five European nations during her illustrious racing career. She attracted large crowds to each racecourse appearance. By the time of her retirement from racing, Kincsem was an European household name, winner of fifty-four races without a defeat, a stunning record which to this day marks her as one of the greatest horses that ever raced. She died on her thirteenth birthday, March 17, 1887. She passed away not just as a mere horse, but as a national icon. Kincsem’s skeleton was put on display at the Hungarian Agricultural Museum in Budapest, where it can still be seen today.
Imagine how that man who refused to buy Kincsem must have felt when she became a world champion.

The same way, some people may overlook you now, not knowing  the great potentials God has embedded within you.

2 Cor. 4:7 calls your potential a treasure in an earthen vessel.

There is treasure hidden within you.

As a child of God, you are not created to be average. You’re not called to live an ordinary life. It doesn’t matter what happened in your past, or what the naysayers said about you, or the things that have tried to hold you back.  What matters is that you are full of amazing potentials, and you should never allow anybody’s disregard of you, make you feel otherwise. To understand how much potential you possess, you must understand the Source from which you came. You are created after God’s image and likeness. God designed you to function as He does. We are to operate as sons of God on earth, ruling and dominating by the power of God.

Never allow anyone or any situation to convince you that you are worthless. If people overlook you, it is simply because they are ignorant of what you carry within.

And if you’ll stay in faith, keep believing, trusting God’s good plan for your life, you’ll experience His promises and blessings.  Often God allows men to mock you first before He makes you. Therefore, no matter how people or situations may maltreat you, don’t give up.  God is working behind the scenes on your behalf.

What God has started in your life, He is going to finish. He is going to make you a sign and wonder to your world. He will cause those that were incensed against you to be ashamed. Those who thought you would amount to nothing, who never gave you a chance will regret their actions. They will wish they treated you better when they had the chance to.  Just focus on following God’s will for you.

God is a God of process. And as you follow His process, you will eventually access the product.

And also remember to be on guard.

Jesus said in John 10:10 that the “thief cometh not but to steal, kill, and destroy”

Just like the gypsy thief saw the great potentials in kincsem, the enemy also  sees the great potentials in you. Guard your visions and dreams from sin, discouragement, procrastination, failures,  distractions, and compromise.

As you stay in faith, trusting God and following His will, God is going to bring outstanding success your way. Your expectations will not be cut off. It is indeed a new day for you, it is a new season. And every great potential embedded  within you is coming into full  manifestation in

Jesus Name.
PRAYER: Lord, please help me to remain steadfast and never to be discouraged as I pursue Your will for my life. Please help me to pay whatever price it takes to manifest the great potentials You have put within me in Jesus Name,

FEBRUARY 25 : FOLLOW THE SPIRIT

1 Corinthians 2:9

‘But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:

DAILY READING  1 Corinthians 10; 2 Kings 3; Amos 8

Electricity is an amazing thing. We tend to take it for granted that when we flip the switch, the lights will come on. We can’t see it, smell it, or taste it, but it is there!

In the study of electricity, one of its most outstanding characteristics  is that electricity always takes the path of least resistance. Often the power of the Spirit has been likened to electricity. And likewise too The Holy Spirit will flow where He is not being resisted. It is also interesting that in nature, we find the same character in two things often used to represent The Spirit; the river and the wind.  Rivers flow in the path of least resistance, and the wind will take the path of least resistance.

The Holy Spirit will always go where He is welcome and wherever He is resisted He tends to withdraw Himself.

To be successful in our Christian walk  we must be sensitive not to resist, grieve, or quench The Spirit of the Lord.

In Acts 7:51, Stephen rebuked the Jews saying “You stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, so do you”.

And in Ephesians 4:30-31 Paul writing to the church at Ephesus, commanded them: “Do not grieve the Holy Spirit.” In the next verse he indicated the things that grieve The Spirit of God. “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice”.

Indeed if we are going to be led by The Spirit, then we have to get rid of such things from our lives. The Holy Spirit is a person,  and He can be saddened by our behavior. When we, God’s people, harbor bitterness in our hearts and malicious words in our mouths, then we are “grieving The Holy Spirit of God.”

Just as a fire can be quenched, the promptings of the Holy Spirit can be stifled.

God has a plan and a purpose He wants to accomplish through our lives. There are great plans God has in store for us, but they can only be accessed through the guidance of the Spirit.

1 Cor 2:9 says ‘But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit:

If you fail to submit to The Spirit and let Him lead, He can withdraw Himself.

And for you to be led by The Spirit, there cannot be 2 captains. The Holy Spirit must lead while you follow. And for Him to lead you, you must have come to the point where you say ‘not my will, but yours be done.’ You must come to the point where whatever He says is alright with you. As you submit wholly to Him He will begin to reveal Himself to you in a new dimension. He will begin to show you the secrets that make stars of men. Wherever The Holy is welcome and is not being resisted He will begin to manifest mightily and blaze like a mighty fire. And by His power your life is turned to a sign and wonder on earth.

PRAYER:  Lord, please help me to never resist Your Spirit. By Your grace help me to live a life wholly submitted to Your Word, so that The Holy Spirit will flow freely and mightily doing wonders through me for all to see in Jesus name.

FEBRUARY 24  : SHIELD OF PRAISE

Psalm 114:7

What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest?  thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back? Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs? Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob.

DAILY READING 1 Corinthians 9; 2 Kings 1-2; Amos 7

How would you like to live knowing that you are under permanent divine protection? How would you like to live in an environment where you know the devil cannot operate. Is that possible? Very much so.

In science fiction there is what is known as a force field. This is a barrier made of energy or particles, which protects a person, area, or object from attacks or intrusions. This field of energy is without mass and acts as an invisible  wall, so that objects are unable to pass through the field and reach the other side. This concept has become a staple of many science-fiction books and films.

And presently there is ongoing scientific research into real force fields, primarily to protect against radiation. A University of Washington group in Seattle has been experimenting with bubbles of charged plasma, as a way of creating such a force field.

Though technologically it may all seem a new concept, spiritually we can build a force field of protection around us through the power of praise. You can keep the devil permanently out of your environment through the weapon of praise.

Nonstop praise is what goes on in heaven and as a result there is no place found for the devil. Likewise on earth we can keep the devil out of our environment by maintaining such a heavenly lifestyle of continuous praise.

Psalm 61:3 says ‘.For thou has been a shelter  for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.’

God is our shelter and refuge, a very present help in time of trouble. People often worry about their protection. But as a child of God, who dwells in Christ Jesus you need not  have such worries, because in Him we live and move and have our being.

Psalm 32:7 says ‘Thou art my hiding place;  thou shalt preserve me from trouble;  thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance’.

When we continuously praise God, we are  compassed about with songs of deliverance, and our lives are hidden in God. Praise forms a cloud of protection around your household, the garment of praise makes you invincible  and untouchable. Indeed we can build a spiritual fence around us with praise.

David was a warrior king who fought many battles, but he never lost any and was never wounded in conflict. In all the battles he fought he enjoyed divine covering.

And in Psalm 140:7 David said ‘O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.’

God’s Presence covered David as a thick shield. It was like a spiritual force field around him that did not allow any evil to penetrate to touch him. And this was as a result of the lifestyle of continual praise that David maintained.

In Psalm 34:1 he said ‘I will bless The Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth’.

Continual praise was David’s secret.

David always ensured he carried the thick Presence of God through continual praise.

Ad indeed if you want to enjoy divine protection, ensure you compass yourself about with songs of praise, Praise always brings God’s presence. and when God is for you, then nothing and nobody can ever be against you.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to be always surrounded by Your Presence as a shield against every force of darkness in Jesus Name. .

FEBRUARY 23 : LIGHT UP YOUR WORLD!..

Luke 8:16

‘No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.’

When it is night, some animals are overcome by the darkness, and so hide in their holes. But yet there are many other creatures who emit light from their bodies, lighting up their surroundings.  We’re all familiar with creatures like the firefly, whose light flickers in dark nights.

God has also created many amazing marine animals who dwell in the deep sea and glow in the dark. There is even a fish called the “flashlight fish,”.  It can turn its light off and on, like a flashlight. Other ocean-dwelling animals that produce their own light include marine organisms such as algae, crustaceans, seastars, and sharks to name just a few. This phenomenon of emitting light is known as bioluminescence. And it occurs through a chemical reaction that produces light energy within the organism’s body.

When these creatures are in the dark, they do not allow themselves to be overcome by the darkness, rather from within they produce their own light for illumination.

As Christians, though we may dwell in a dark world, we are to light up our environment with God’s light. Jesus is the light of the world and when He lives in us, we also become the light of our world.

Light is most effective in dark places. And in today’s world, our light is most needed, because millions of people live in the darkness of sin. Today, many feel that there is nothing wrong with perversion, adultery, hatred, prejudice, lying, stealing etc. In many countries, evils like same sex marriage, abortion, bestiality, incest, etc has become legalized. Yet, though the world may be growing darker, it only provides opportunity for our light to shine brighter.

Luke 8:16 says ‘No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.’

God sends us into dark places so that we can shine His light for men to see. You may be in a difficult family, city, workplace or neighborhood. You’re not there by accident. God has sent you to brighten things up. You are to shine with your actions. Your godly light will speak louder than any words. People believe a sermon that they see more than a sermon that they hear.

Because Jesus let His light shine among sinners, many became believers. God will bring people across your path who will need your light. Even if these people seem difficult to get along with, keep shinning your light. Be a consistent witness. They may push your buttons to get a certain response, watching to discredit your Christian testimony. But no matter what they do keep shining the love of Christ. Instead of allowing their actions to depress you, ask God for grace to shine with greater intensity. People may not change overnight, but as you keep doing what is right, one day your light will overtake their darkness. They’ll get tired of being  negative and want what you have. Love never fails. Light will always overcome darkness.

2 Corinthians 4:6 says ‘For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

People are to see the light of God through  our lives. At each point your life is sending out a message. More people are reading your life than they are reading their bible. People can’t see God, but they see us.  We are therefore to keep representing God with how we live our lives.

And for this to  happen we need to keep filling our heart with The Word of God. It is the entrance of His Word that gives light. Through the Word,  God shines from within us, to draw all men to Himself.

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to always fill my heart with Your Word so that Your light can constantly shine through me. Wherever I go, help me to light up my world, so that men can be drawn to You in Jesus name.  ,

FEBRUARY 22 : VICTORY BY THE BLOOD

Exodus 12:23
‘For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.’

 DAILY READING –  – 1 Corinthians 7:1-24; 1 Kings 20; Amos 4:4-13

One night, when the famous evangelist John Wesley,  was returning home from a service, he was robbed. The thief, however, found his victim to have only a little money and some Christian literature. As the bandit was leaving, Wesley called out, “Stop! I have something more to give you.” The surprised robber paused. “My friend,” said Wesley, “you may live to regret this sort of life. If you ever do, here’s something to remember: ‘The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin!'” The thief hurried away, and Wesley prayed that his words might bear fruit.

Years later, Wesley was greeting people after a Sunday service when he was approached by a stranger. What a surprise to learn that this visitor, now a believer in Christ as a successful businessman, was the one who had robbed him years before! “I owe it all to you,” said the transformed man. “Oh no, my friend,” Wesley exclaimed, “not to me, but to the precious blood of Christ that cleanses us from all sin!”

Indeed it is amazing the transformation that the cleansing of the blood of Jesus can bring. The yoke of a criminal lifestyle was broken in this man’s life by the power in the blood.  No one knows how long this man may have fought his criminal tendencies, but when the blood was invoked he was set free and became a transformed man. Likewise it doesn’t matter how long a man may have been in any pit, once the blood is invoked, he encounters deliverance.

Zechariah 9:11-12 says ‘As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.’

There is no pit so deep, that the blood cannot pull a man out of it. There is no yoke so strong that the blood of Jesus cannot break it. There is no bondage that the blood cannot destroy. The blood is able to destroy every captivity in your life. Every evil habit, secret sin, bondage the enemy has tried to ensnare you with can be broken off you by the power of the blood of Jesus. The Bible records that after the mystery of the blood was applied in Egypt, the siege of captivity over the Israelites was broken. Any battle the enemy has arraigned against you, can be destroyed through the invocation of the blood.

Revelation 12:11 says ‘And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death’

Indeed the Blood of Jesus is the Blood Covenant that redeemed us from the curse of the law to enjoy the blessings of grace.

Many of the challenges that confront us in life are not ordinary. There is a spiritual dimension to every battle. Ephesians 6:12 says,“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Therefore you cannot confront the devil and his agents with human wisdom, scientific inventions, philosophy, or ethical principles; rather, we confront them with the spiritual weapons of our warfare which are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. And chief among these, is the weapon of the blood of Jesus. Always remember that the battle is not yours but the Lord’s. Whenever you invoke the blood, The Lord arises to smite every Egyptian, holding you in bondage.

Exodus 12:23 says ‘For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.’

Look around you today, what is it that is still trying to hold you in bondage, what is that stubborn pharaoh that refuses to let go? It is time to invoke the blood against them.

There is no situation so bad that the blood cannot change, there is no destiny so battered that the blood cannot recover. You can come out of the pit of poverty, disease, disfavor etc. You can recover from a life of mediocrity and low impact. No matter how long you may have been held in that pit, by the blood your deliverance is secured today.

There is a great destiny waiting for you, no devil can truncate your progress, no pharaoh can keep you in bondage. By the power of the blood of Jesus, your victory is established today.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for the power in the blood of Jesus. Indeed today by the blood I have victory over everything contesting my glorious destiny in Jesus Name
