Charles Finney ignited one of the most powerful revival movements in Church history. But before then, he was a young lawyer relentlessly pursuing a successful career in law. He was brilliant, determined, and respected in his community. Though he served in his local Presbyterian church as a choir leader, deep within, he wrestled with uncertainty about his salvation and destiny.
One day, unable to ignore the conviction in his heart, Finney left everything and went into the woods to pray. There, beside a fallen log, he knelt down and poured out his heart to God. For hours, he wrestled in prayer until he fully surrendered his life to Christ and chose to follow His divine will.
That encounter changed him forever.
The next morning, Finney stunned everyone at the law office by resigning from his career to follow God’s call. He soon became known as a fiery preacher. Wherever he preached, towns were transformed—bars shut down, jails emptied, and crime vanished. Finney is celebrated today as the father of modern revivalism, whose ministry greatly influenced later spiritual giants like D.L. Moody and Billy Graham.

Finney’s turning point came when he stopped leaning on his own understanding and sought divine wisdom for direction.
The issue of our destiny is too sacred to be left to chance or assumption. Many today move through life driven by ambition, not revelation. Yet Scripture says, “Those who walk in wisdom are kept safe” (Proverbs 28:26). Wisdom is God’s GPS—it not only guides but guards.
When we seek God, we receive divine direction that positions us for global impact. As we yield to the Holy Spirit, we begin to walk in paths of destiny preordained for us. Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”
Divine wisdom gives clarity in confusion, strategy in struggle, and peace in pressure. It is the difference between striving and soaring.
Christ Himself is the embodiment of wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:30). Daily seeking Him through His Word guarantees us divine insights that take us from ordinary to extraordinary and fill our lives with glory and honor.

PRAYER:
Lord, please grant me the grace to seek and walk in Your wisdom daily. Deliver me from self-dependence and guide me into divine understanding that will cause me to fulfill my destiny in glory, in Jesus’ Name.
