When Aiden Wilson Tozer was just fifteen years old, tragedy struck his family. His father suffered a severe nervous breakdown, leaving young Tozer to shoulder the burden of helping provide for his household. Overnight, his carefree days as a young boy ended, and responsibility pressed hard upon his shoulders.
Tozer’s first job was selling candy, peanuts, and books on commission along the dusty streets. He often sat under the shade of trees, lost in the pages of the very books he was supposed to sell. His pockets stayed empty, but his mind grew rich.
Later, he found work in a rubber factory and would set up books in front of him, reading as he worked. When he chose to attend high school, he went there only one day and concluded he could learn better on his own. Guided by the Holy Spirit, he studied late into the night, prayed fervently, and let divine wisdom shape his thoughts.
That same boy who once sold books he could barely afford to read became one of the most respected Christian authors and preachers of the 20th century. A.W. Tozer’s books such as The Pursuit of God and The Knowledge of the Holy still ignite spiritual revival in many hearts today.
The story of A.W. Tozer teaches us that destiny does not favor the careless—it honors the diligent who pursue wisdom. What transformed a struggling teenager into a world-renowned preacher was not luck but divine wisdom at work. The Scripture declares: “Wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times” (Isaiah 33:6). In unstable times, wisdom gives direction, composure, and victory.
Wisdom is Heaven’s stabilizing force in a world of shaking. When others are overwhelmed, divine wisdom helps you stand strong, make sound decisions, and walk in peace. It is the foundation for success in ministry, business, marriage, and every area of life. Tozer’s secret was simple—he made the pursuit of God and His truth his highest priority. Through prayer, meditation, and obedience, he accessed divine treasures that shaped his generation.
The same principle applies to you. The wisdom of God is not hidden from you but for you. It is found in His Word and revealed through the Holy Spirit. If you will discipline yourself to study, pray, and listen, your life will rise above instability and confusion. The truly wise are those who build their lives on the unshakable foundation of God’s Word.
Don’t waste your strength on distractions; rather, invest it in divine pursuit. The time you spend seeking wisdom today will guarantee you strength and stability tomorrow and usher you into glorious new dimensions of destiny.
PRAYER:
Father, please help me to pay the required price to seek divine wisdom and knowledge. Today, I receive the grace to separate myself from distractions and focus on the pursuit of Your divine purpose so that I can experience the glory invasion ordained for me this year, in Jesus’ Name.
