For more than 6 decades, Pastor John Hagee has served as a preacher of the Gospel and seen God’s faithfulness in the growth of his ministry.
In the 1980s, he felt led to erect a bigger sanctuary, the Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas. Though there were great challenges, he stepped out in obedience and embarked on the project.
The site for the building was very far from town, and many people emphatically told him that no one would ever attend a church so far out in the country. It was a great risk for Pastor Hagee because he could have lost his congregation, as many would have switched to attending nearby churches.
But he believed he was doing what God wanted him to do and so pressed on.
On the morning of the dedication in 1987, Pastor Hagee had to trust God for attendance; he didn’t know if many people would come. But that morning, an amazing thing happened. Not only old members, but many new people drove all the way from the town to the outskirts to attend the service. That day the sanctuary was filled to overflowing with over 6,000 people.
The population continued to grow until today; Cornerstone Church now has more than 22,000 members.
Stepping out in faith means trusting God with all our concerns. Though it may mean leaving our comfort zone and facing our deepest fears, in the end, God always rewards us for our obedience.
Though we may be tempted to fret or worry about the future, we must abide by the statement of confidence in 2 Timothy 1:12 which says “For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.”
God is able to do what He has promised to do. Therefore in obeying His will, we must be strong, courageous, and not be afraid or dismayed, because the Lord will be with us [Joshua 1:9].
There is so much God wants to do with our lives this year.
It doesn’t matter what the story has been like in the past months; there are greater things ahead for you. There are territories yet to be conquered and exploits still to be accomplished. Therefore, we must not rest on our oars in pursuit of our goals. As we sincerely keep seeking God, walking in faith and obedience, we will soon break forth to a realm of overflow that will be exceedingly, abundantly above all we could ask, think, or imagine.
PRAYER: Lord, please help me to stay focused on Your Word so that I can have the faith to step out boldly and accomplish great things and experience Your overflowing blessings in every area of my life in Jesus Name. .
