Jacob Chamberlain was a 19th-century missionary who served for 37 years among the Telugu people of India. His book “In the Tiger Country and Other Stories of Missionary Work” records many miraculous encounters from his journeys. On one of his trips, he had to pass through a dense jungle notorious for tigers and floods, transporting two cartloads of Bibles with three native assistants.
At a certain point, torrential rains caused the river to overflow, flooding every path forward. With hungry tigers roaring nearby, Chamberlain realized there was no natural escape. As he prayed earnestly, he distinctly heard a voice say, “Turn to the left to the Godavery River, and you will find rescue.” His guides protested, saying there was no village or road in that direction, but the prompting came again twice more. Trusting God, he ordered them to obey.
As they reached the riverbank, they found a large boat manned by two British workers, miraculously driven by the current to that very spot—just in time to save them. Chamberlain bowed in awe, realizing the boat had been heaven-sent in answer to divine direction.

Obedience to God’s instruction is our wisdom in surviving and flourishing where others may perish. When God delivered Israel from Egypt, He taught them through Moses divine principles that would distinguish them among all nations. God said their obedience to His laws would be their wisdom and understanding before the world (Deuteronomy 4:5–6).
It wasn’t how many miracles they saw, but how consistently they followed divine instructions that marked them as wise.
True wisdom is measured by obedience to God’s Word. Every divine command carries encoded wisdom—directions that position us for preservation, prosperity, and purpose. When we obey, we access Heaven’s blueprint for victorious living.
Throughout Scripture, every man or woman who walked in obedience walked in supernatural wisdom. Noah obeyed and built an ark before rain ever fell; Joseph obeyed and saved Egypt through divine strategy. Obedience doesn’t always make sense at first, but it always makes miracles.
Today, as we constantly follow God’s instructions, it will be our access to His wisdom and the invasion of His glory in our lives.

PRAYER:
Father, give me a heart that delights in Your Word and the courage to obey promptly. Let my obedience open the gates of divine wisdom and distinguish me among men. I receive grace to walk in the light of Your instructions, in Jesus’ Name.
