Joshua 1:9 ‘Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.’

DAILY READING – Matthew 15:1-20; Leviticus 24-25; Ecclesiastes 1:1-11

David Hogan has been serving as a missionary in southeastern Mexico since the mid-1970s. Through his ministry about 600 churches have been started and there has been overwhelming number of healings, including many people being raised from the dead.
Interestingly, the first time he ever heard the Lord tell him to raise the dead he was too scared to do anything. At the beginning of his ministry in Mexico, a 14 year old boy had drowned in the river and David Hogan who was at the scene had clearly heard Jesus telling him to pray and raise the dead boy. However when he saw the crowd of unbelievers standing there declaring that the boy was dead, he became so filled with doubt and fear that he did not obey.
When he left that place, afterwards he was filled with remorse and grief for not boldly obeying the Lord.
Two months later, he was preaching in a small village in Mexico, when an Indian man asked him to follow him home to heal his dying son. But by the time they got to his home, the boy had already dead. Standing around the dead boy were two black magic warlocks and two spiritist healers who had come from the village to heal him but had failed to do so.
The boy’s father then turned to David Hogan and asked him to do something. Again, doubt, unbelief and fear began to grip him, but this time, he was determined to obey God. So he began to pray. He prayed in tongues, also prayed in English, Spanish and Indian languages, but nothing happened. However, he continued to pray fervently calling severally upon the Name of Jesus.
Just when he was about to conclude that his prayer would not work, the boy jerked back to life.
This first experience of raising the dead gave him a deep insight about exercising faith even in the face of adverse circumstances. In his book titled ‘“Faith to Raise the Dead”, he wrote, ‘The most valuable thing you have is to seek Jesus. It’s not how well you speak. It’s not how well you pray.. It’s how well you can speak “I love you Jesus. I need you Jesus. Absorb me Jesus. Possess me Jesus.”

Indeed, to succeed in the assignment God has called us to, we need to constantly keep our eyes on Jesus. Without Him we can do nothing, but through Him, we can do all things.
No matter how dead any situation or how adverse any circumstance, through the power in the Name of Jesus there can be a divine reversal.
To do the work of the Lord, we need supernatural boldness imparted into our hearts. This is because, as we start out on our journey, we will be confronted by giants, battles, and all manner of fearful challenges.
Except the Spirit of God emboldens us and goes with us we may be too afraid to make any move. We need the Holy Spirit to quicken us and strengthen us even when it looks like nothing is going to work. As we continually fill our heart with the Word, the Holy Ghost will impart into our hearts the faith we need to overcome the world.
When Joshua was about to go forth with the army of Israel to possess the promised land, God commanded him to meditate on the Word day and night, by so doing he will be strong, courageous, and not be afraid or dismayed.
Likewise to possess our promised land and come into our inheritance of wonders this year, we must be filled with faith through constant meditation in the Word.
While fear comes from looking at the impossibilities in the world, faith comes from looking at the possibilities in God’s Word.
Even when outward circumstances appear too difficult, through faith in God’s Word we can experience a supernatural turnaround.
Certainly today, as we keep blessing God and keep declaring Him faithful, surely He will show up and establish His Word and cause us to experience our own portion of wonders and miracles this year.

PRAYER: Lord, please enable me to meditate constantly on Your Word so that I can have the faith to possess my inheritance of wonders this year. By Your grace what looks impossible to men will surely become possible in my life in Jesus Name. .
