Romans 8:28: ‘And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.’

DAILY READING: – Matthew 16; Numbers 1-2; Ecclesiastes 3:1-15

On August 30, 2017, the Washington Post carried a story of how a wrong turn taken by a firefighter turned into a miracle. A firefighter named William Gressen, was on his way to work, when he mistakenly took a wrong turn. However, while on the wrong road, he drove past a mysterious beam of light piercing the dark woods along the Highway.

At first, he thought it was illumination from a construction site, but something about it still didn’t feel quite right. He turned around, pulled over and hiked down to an embankment through brush and downed trees. About 125 feet down, he discovered the light source: a gold Hyundai Elantra had rolled down from the road, trapping a woman inside. Blood was running down her face. Her head was wedged between the headrest and the door, and a seat belt was wrapped around her neck, choking her. He plunged his hand through a broken window and freed the choking woman. Later on, medical officials said she might have died had he not been there in the nick of time to help her.  The wrong turn this firefighter took on his way to work, was what led to the miracle that saved the woman’s life.

Possibly, at the moment he took the wrong turn, the firefighter might have lamented his mistake, but what he did not know was that God was orchestrating his steps to save a life. Indeed God turned his mistake into a miracle.

In the journey of life, we may sometimes take wrong turns. However, regardless of the detour, God knows how to turn it all around for our good when we trust in Him. As long as we are sincere in our heart, He knows how to turn what may look like mistakes into miracles for us.

Romans 8:28 speaks of God’s ability to turn situations around.  It says, ‘And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.’

“All things” includes your failures and your mistakes. We have all made mistakes at one time or the other; no one is immune. However, when we seek God’s help and align to His will, He will turn things around for our good.

Deuteronomy 23:5 says, ‘The LORD your God turned the curse into a blessing.’

The word “turned” in this verse is the same word we find in Exodus 7:14-15, where the Lord tells Moses to confront Pharaoh with the rod which was turned into a serpent.

Indeed, what was meant to kill you can be turned around by God to become a life-giver. Sickness can be turned to health; poverty can be turned to prosperity; stress can be turned to strength. God can transform the impossible into the possible. He can turn a curse into a blessing. He will make miracles out of your mistakes. He will turn your mess into a message, and He will cause your scars to become your stars.

Where you may have recorded losses, God is about to turn them into profits. What was a disadvantage, God can turn into an advantage, and this will happen when we are sincerely seeking Him with our whole heart. Indeed, when we love God, all things work together for our good. Deuteronomy 23:5 tells us why. It says, ‘The Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because the LORD your God loves you.’

God truly loves you, He cares for you, and that’s why He will turn things around for you. You may have made mistakes, but God is at work to turn your stumbling blocks into stepping stones. There is no situation God cannot turn around. There is no night so dark His light cannot penetrate. You may not know what to do, but God knows what to do. Just turn over the situation to Him in prayer. God knows the end from the beginning. He knows how to fix our lives. He is the potter that knows how to put us back together even when we are broken.

You may not immediately see how things will work out right now, but just trust God. He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all you could ever ask or imagine. He has it all figured out. No matter what happens, God has it all under control. He has a plan and a purpose. And as long as we remain sincere in following Him, He will indeed cause everything to work out together for our good.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You because I know indeed that everything is working out together for my good. Thank You Lord for giving me a positive change of story. Indeed, By Your grace, I am moving from glory to glory in Jesus’ name.
