For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.”

On June 27, 1976, an Air France flight from Tel Aviv to Paris was hijacked by terrorists linked to the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO). The hijackers diverted the plane to Uganda, where President Idi Amin welcomed and supported them. Non-Israeli passengers were released, but 94 Israelis were held hostage under threat of execution if Israel failed to immediately meet their demands. But Israeli leaders refused to negotiate. Instead, they crafted an audacious rescue plan.
Divine intervention became obvious when an Israeli engineer who had helped build Entebbe Airport provided precise blueprints. Also Israeli forces who had previously trained Idi Amin’s soldiers, provided crucial information about Ugandan military tactics.
A week later, on July 3, more than 200 Israeli commandos flew extremely low to avoid radar detection. They landed at night on an unlit runway. Using their knowledge of the airport’s layout, the commandos swiftly neutralized the hijackers, overwhelmed the Ugandan soldiers, and reached the hostages before any harm was done.
In just 99 minutes, the hostages were rescued and flown back to Israel.
This operation brought glory to the Israeli military. It inspired several books and movies and became the global benchmark for military strategy, courage, and precision.

Victory in battle is not just by physical might; having the right strategy is crucial.
The terrorists thought their plan was airtight, but they did not factor in divine intervention nor superior intelligence.
Proverbs 24:6 says “For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war…”.
War is not won by effort alone, but by wise counsel.
When the Philistines rose against Israel in 2 Samuel 5:19, David did not rush into battle. He sought divine wisdom: He inquired from the Lord,
“Shall I go up to the Philistines? Wilt thou deliver them into mine hand?
And the Lord said… Go up.”
With God’s wisdom, David prevailed. In fact, divine wisdom became David’s constant escape system.
1 Samuel 18:14–15 says:
“David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the Lord was with him… and Saul was afraid of him.”
During His earthly ministry, Jesus repeatedly escaped deadly traps set against Him through divine wisdom.
In life, we cannot triumph by strength alone. We need God’s wisdom to show us the pathway of victory.
One way to access this wisdom is by asking God in prayer, as James 1:5 instructs us. Another way is by meditating deeply on the Word, where the mind of God is revealed.
As we pursue the remaining days of this year, let us intentionally seek God’s counsel so as to excel, escape dangers, and walk into the glory God has ordained for us.

PRAYER:
Lord, I need Your wisdom daily so as to accomplish the glorious plans You have for my life. Grant me the discernment to escape every trap of the enemy and excel in all my endeavors, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
