Psalm 44:3 ‘For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.’
DAILY READING – Matthew 20:17-34; Numbers 15-16; Ecclesiastes 9:13-1
The book, Made in America, tells the inspirational rags-to-riches story of Sam Walton, the founder of Walmart.
At the end of World War II, Sam returned from military service poor and broke. .
He managed to get a loan of $25,000, with which he entered into business. In 1962 he opened his first Wal-Mart store and by 1991 his business had greatly expanded to become America’s largest retailer. Sam himself would become the richest man in America.
Sam believed that what established his great success was serving God’s Kingdom and tithing faithfully . He was not only a tither, but also a great philanthropist who gave to many Christian causes. He was a devout Christian who taught Sunday School for most of his adult life.
He believed that it was the favour of God that gave him divine acceleration in life and business. At his death he left a large fortune in billions of dollars to his family. However, he was such a strong believer in tithing that through several legal provisions on his trust funds he made it impossible for his descendants not to tithe on the revenues of his company and on their inheritance. And as a result of these legal provisions, today, all Waltons, not only tithe, but also give offerings from their inheritance.
Interestingly, the Walton family has remained the richest family in the U.S. for several consecutive years, with a net worth of around $240.6 billion as of January 2022
Sam Walton’s dedication to the cause of God’s kingdom in the area of financial stewardship undoubtedly helped him to prosper greatly. The giving grace enlarges the covenant coast of a man.
According to Deuteronomy 8:18, God empowers us for wealth on the basis of the covenant of seed time and harvest.
No matter how hard a believer works, it takes the favor of God to fully possess your inheritance.(Psalm 44:3).
Divine favor elevates us when we promote God’s Kingdom and are a blessing to humanity.
Sacrificial giving especially attracts God’s attention and opens unprecedented doors of destiny.
In 1 Kings 3:5, when Solomon reared an altar of sacrifice, God appeared to him in a dream and said: ‘Ask what I shall give thee?”
God’s favor eventually established Solomon as the wisest and richest King in human history.
When God’s hand comes upon a man’s life, that life begins to gather speed and experience sudden acceleration from the back to the front.
We saw in I Kings 18:46, how Elisha outran horses and chariots because of God’s hand that came upon him.
When God takes over your affairs, you find yourself caught up in a divine move that shifts your circumstances, removes obstacles and commands speedy progress.
Today, as we diligently obey God’s Word and faithfully walk in His covenant, , let us get ready for divine speed and acceleration that will take us beyond our greatest expectations for this year.
PRAYER: Lord, please grant me the grace to faithfully walk in Your covenant so that I can experience divine speed and acceleration in my life and excel beyond expectations in all my endeavors in Jesus Name.
