Matthew 22:37–40
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

In the early centuries of the Church, Christianity spread rapidly across the Roman Empire through the undeniable force of love.
During times of plague, when fear gripped entire cities, many fled to save themselves. Families abandoned even their own loved ones to escape infection. Yet, in the midst of this chaos, the Christians did something radically different—they stayed to care for the sick and provide food and comfort to those who had been left behind. They did not discriminate between believers and unbelievers. Their love extended to all.
Many of them paid a heavy price for this compassion, as they exposed themselves to the same diseases. Yet they counted the lives of others more important than their own safety.
People were astonished to see that Christians did not just talk about love—they lived it.
As a result, many hearts were softened. Those who once mocked the faith began to embrace it. Entire communities were transformed and the Church grew rapidly across borders to many nations of the world.
Jesus reveals in Matthew 22:37–40 that love is not just a command—it is the foundation upon which the entire Kingdom rests. Every law, every instruction, and every expression of true Christianity is built on this one truth: love for God and love for people.
The Christian life is rooted in love. You may have knowledge, gifts, or service, but without love, it will not produce lasting impact (1 Corinthians 13:2).
Love is the divine strategy that draws men to the Gospel of Christ.
We live in a world that is love-starved, where people greatly need affection and compassion. Love is a universal language understood in every nation. When we let the love of God flow from our hearts it impacts the world around us. When we engage in acts of kindness, people are blessed and God is glorified.
Genuine acts of love and kindness were how the early Church prevailed—and it is still how we win souls today.
Therefore wherever there is chaos,.let us bring peace. Where there is pain,. let us bring joy and where there is despair, let us bring hope and healing.
By so doing we glorify God, bless humanity and practically reveal Christ to the world.
PRAYER:
Lord, please help me to love You with all my heart and to express that love through my actions toward others. Let Your love flow through me to bless lives and draw many souls into Your Kingdom, in Jesus’ Name.
