Psalm 34:15 ‘The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.’

DAILY RREADING; John 10:1-21; 2 Chronicles 8; Psalm 73

The I-35W Mississippi Bridge was built in 1967 and was Minnesota’s third busiest bridge. It carried about 140,000 vehicles daily across the Mississippi River.
However, on August 1, 2007, the bridge collapsed during the evening rush hour.

On that day, Michele McLane was one of the people driving across the bridge, when the tragedy struck. She had left work a little bit late and as she was driving through the bridge, she suddenly heard a big boom and the ground began to shake. The concrete in front of her began cracking open and then behind her the bridge began to collapse and fall.
The slope caused by the falling bridge made her vehicle to drop and began to roll back. It was obvious at that point that her car was going to fall into the river below. She realized she might die if her car fell because the height was too high. With all that terror, fear, chaos and noise going on around her, she just yelled out a prayer to God, to help her escape the falling bridge.
In that moment, it was as if God made all the fear within her to cease, and an inexplicable peace came over her. Then she heard God say to her, “Michelle, your foot is still on the accelerator. Go!”
And so she pushed the accelerator to the floor, revving her car furiously up the slope of the falling bridge. She floored the accelerator until her car was able to reach up to level ground on the other side of the bridge. She then pulled off to the side of the road. But on looking back she realized that there was no other car coming up from the bridge. She was the last person to have driven through before the bridge finally collapsed. God had saved her right in the nick of time!
In that accident 13 people were killed and 145 people injured.
But somehow God had snatched Michelle out of the tragedy without a scratch.
News Media outlets that carried the story were amazed at how Michelle was able to escape the falling bridge. She gave God all the glory for hearing her desperate cry and rescuing her.
Her story is recorded in her book titled, ‘Back again.’

Psalm 18:6 says ‘In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.’

Every parent knows a distress cry from their children. It’s not a temper tantrum or a whine for attention. Once a parent hears that distress cry, everything else is dropped and that child receives priority attention.
That’s how God feels about us.

There are times in life when the best thing you can do is cry out to God from the depths of your being.
When God hears such a cry, He answers speedily.
Certainly, His ears are open to the cry of the righteous.
When we love God and serve Him, His Word assures us that whenever we cry, He hears us and arises for our deliverance.

God says in Psalm 91:14 -15 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.

As long as you serve God, in the times of trouble He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will always show up for your rescue.
He didn’t leave Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fire, He came as the 4th man and brought them out. He didn’t leave Daniel in the lion’s den, He closed the lions’ mouths and rescued him. He didn’t leave Paul and Silas in the prison, He caused an earthquake and opened the prison doors.
In the same way, God will not leave us nor forsake us in times of trouble.
Indeed we serve the God of wonders who can break through any barrier and deliver us out of any tight situation.
Each time the enemy tries to get you into a fix, when he thinks he has locked all doors of escape, always remember that you serve the God that rules over the affairs of men. He is able to bring you out even from the jaws of the lion.
He is able to perform miracles, signs and wonders that will baffle people around you and cause them to ponder.

Nothing can limit God. Therefore today, as you call upon Him be assured that He will hear and deliver you.
Only keep your trust in Him and do not be moved by what you see. Be moved only by what God’s Word has said.
Faith is the link that keeps you connected to Heaven for a rescue operation, therefore don’t break that link. As long as you can stay in faith, anything and everything is possible.

In every situation, let us keep praising God, because He is our ever present help in time of need.
Certainly, today, you are coming out of every tight situation in your health, finances, relationships etc.
No matter the circumstance, God’s grace will be sufficient for you. Surely, by the Blood of Jesus, you have the victory.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for Your grace that is able to deliver me from any tight and tough situation today. Please help me to make Your Word top priority in my life, so that I can always walk by faith, and not by sight. Thank You Lord for always hearing me when I call and answering me speedily in Jesus Name.
