In May 2014, Meriam Ibrahim, eight months pregnant, stood trial in Khartoum, Sudan, charged with apostasy and adultery—for marrying a Christian and refusing to renounce her faith in Christ. In a Sharia-driven nation where apostasy is punishable by death, Meriam was sentenced to 100 lashes and hanging. She was locked in prison with her toddler and unborn child, pressured daily to deny Jesus. But Meriam refused. She stood firm, saying, “I am a Christian, and I will remain a Christian.”

Though she appeared abandoned, God’s grace surrounded her and began to speak for her! Miraculously, international governments and human rights organizations rose in protest over her matter. Media campaigns amplified her story globally. From Washington to London, voices of justice cried out. Against all odds, God intervened through global pressure, and on June 24, 2014, Meriam was miraculously released.

Though still pursued by extremists, God shielded her. She found refuge in the U.S. embassy and eventually relocated to America. Today, Meriam is a bold Christian activist and voice for the persecuted. She’s a living testimony of God’s mercy and faithfulness.

Truly, Meriam’s life declares that God’s grace never fails. The God we serve is a way maker and chain breaker.
No matter how tough things may sometimes seem, God knows exactly how to tip things in your favor.
We just need to keep trusting in Him and resting upon His promises.

In times of trials, Deuteronomy 20:3–4 tells us not to faint, fear, tremble, or be terrified because God will fight for us against our enemies, to save us.
God knows how to turn our trials and tribulations into triumphs and jubilations. Therefore, don’t be discouraged by the things that try to stop or frustrate your journey. They are working for your good. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.
Always remember that as a child of God, the Greater One lives in you. Through Christ, you can do all things—you can face and overcome any situation. Therefore, in everything keep giving thanks and keep blessing the Name of the Lord, because He is certainly in control.
He will go ahead of you to break the gates of brass and cut the bars of iron asunder.
No matter how fierce the battle, as you trust in God, He will never allow you to be defeated. Rather, you will arise stronger from the ashes, to soar to greater heights of glory.

PRAYER:
Lord, please help me to stand strong despite the fierce winds of opposition. I receive the grace to always praise You in every situation. Thank You, Lord, for always causing me to triumph in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
