Ron Roberson is a Producer and Anchor for CNN Headline News in the Los Angeles area.
It is hard to believe that this successful journalist once lived homeless on the worst streets of Los Angeles.
He was raised in a dysfunctional family by an abusive, alcoholic father. This made him at the age of 13, to run away and live in foster homes. As a young man, he tried to gain stability in life, but an addiction to drugs stripped him of everything, until he was destitute and living on the streets. He stooped so low he had to start eating out of trash cans and was sleeping on park benches.
Finally fed up with his lifetime of suffering, Ron Roberson decided to end his life. He got up on the 10th floor of the Frontier Hotel in Los Angeles and prepared to jump from a window.
But at that very moment, Ron said he heard the audible voice of the Lord say to him ‘You’ve tried everything else. Why don’t you try Me?’
That was the turning point! He jumped back from the window and fell on his knees and prayed and surrendered all to Jesus.
After that prayer, the very next day, he got a job. From the moment he received Jesus, there was no more desire for drugs and his life was changed by the supernatural power of God.
He faced life with renewed zeal and vigor and faithfully began to serve God. As his faith grew, so did his opportunities. He saw God’s faithfulness in lifting him from a crackhead who was eating out of trashcans to a position where today, he interacts with prominent people as he serves as a News anchor for CNN news.
Ron continually shares his testimony and expresses his gratitude to God for His mighty deliverance.

As believers, we all have a history with God.
We’ve all come through challenges and difficulties that could have ended our journey. Some of us went through rejections, tough childhoods and obstacles that could have defeated us early in life.
Somehow, through God’s grace and mercy we were able to outlast those oppositions.
When we go back over our history with God, we can see how He has always been faithful. He has always showed up right on time.
He caused rivers to flow for us through the desert, pulled us from the fiery furnace, delivered us from the lion’s den, healed us from deadly diseases, and gave His angels charge over us to keep us in all our ways.
Despite all the plans of the enemy, God’s will over our lives has prevailed. Many of us would have been dead and buried long ago but by God’s mercies we have not been consumed. From the dunghill, He lifted us and made us to sit with princes. He set our feet upon the rock and established our goings.

God has always been there, working behind the scenes and pushing back the hands of darkness that could have truncated our destiny.
Truly if it had not been for the Lord on our side, where would we have been?
Although we have no claim on God’s mercies, and they are undeserved, nonetheless they never cease.

Wherever you may be today, you didn’t get there by yourself. Some of the friends you started on this journey of life with died along the way. But through the grace of God you are still here.
And even if perhaps you lost anything, God is the reason why you did not lose everything. Though you may not be where you want to be, but neither are you where you used to be.
Truly, we ought to be continually grateful to God. His praise should continually be on our lips.
And as we continue to go deeper in our relationship with Him, we will see more of His goodness as He keeps taking us higher; from glory to glory and from victory to victory.

PRAYER: LORD, I praise You for all Your amazing goodness in my life. I am truly grateful for Your mercy, grace and favor which has brought me this far. Thank You so much Lord for Your faithfulness in my life in Jesus Name.
