After graduating from college, David L. Steward worked for Fedex, becoming their top salesperson. Despite his successful career, David desired to start his own business. However, when he eventually set out on his own, he fell flat on his face and found himself $3.5 million in debt.
With this seemingly insurmountable challenge, David turned to the Lord for help. He realized that his business was not just about himself, but an extension of his service in God’s kingdom. He then decided to apply Biblical principles, he prayed and also began sowing seeds despite his needs. God did indeed help him and things eventually turned around for him.
Through trusting God and engaging Biblical principles David Steward, rose from failure to resounding success. He founded Worldwide Technology, Inc., which is the largest African-American business in America.
He has been listed as one of the only five black billionaires in America. David who serves as a Sunday school teacher in his Church believes following Biblical principles is the secret to his success. He is the author of the book ‘Doing Business by the Good Book” In this book he shows how lessons from the Bible can lead to success and dominion in one’s field of endeavor.
We have been redeemed to bring the authority of God’s Word into every sphere of influence. Through application of Biblical principles we are to dominate as kings and priests on the global stage..
Revelation 1:5-6 says Christ has loved us, washed us by His own Blood and made us to be kings and priests..
Today, every believer is either a king or a priest. The priests are those called to the five-fold ministry of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers (Ephesians 4:11–13). While the kings are those tasked to dominate in the global marketplace and take territories for God.
Anyone not serving as a priest is considered a king. And as a king you are meant to influence and lead in the field of your endeavor. You are to serve as a marketplace minister securing provision for the vision of the Kingdom.
Just as Adam was given dominion over the earth, we are to dominate and take over any territory we step on.
God promised Abraham in Genesis 13:15: *“I will give you and your descendants all the land that you see”. Similarly, He assured Joshua, *“Every place your foot treads, I have given to you”* (Joshua 1:3).
Jesus has redeemed us by His Blood for lives of glory and dominion.. In our endeavors, we are destined to be the head and not the tail, above only and never beneath. Therefore refuse to settle for anything less than the best.
Today, let us arise and begin to walk in our calling as kings and priests. By the Blood of Jesus any barrier resisting our progress is destroyed and we shall keep marching forward and making progress in our divine purpose of advancing God’s kingdom upon the earth.
PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for anointing me to excel in my calling and take territories for You. Please enable me to stay focused on Your Word so that I can have the faith to overcome all obstacles and attain the realms of glory and success You have ordained for me in Jesus’ Name.
