Mary Forsythe was a successful pharmacist who appeared to have everything until she was imprisoned for tax fraud. Mary gave her life to Christ at a young age, but as an adult she strayed from the Faith. By age 20, Mary Forsythe owned a pharmaceutical store that was one of the most successful in Texas.
Her client base was large, and everything was going great, until when the IRS discovered discrepancies in her tax records. She was charged to court and found guilty after a very embarrassing public trial. As Mary began serving her five years sentence in prison, she was so troubled that she almost committed suicide. She then cried out to God and asked Him to forgive her. This marked the beginning of her journey to a deeper relationship with God. Every chance Mary could get, she would devour the Bible. By the time, she eventually came out of the prison, Mary was a changed person.
Today Mary Forsythe is the president of her own ministry and travels around the globe preaching the Gospel. Her story is captured in the book ‘A Glimpse of Grace” which is the gripping tale of her downfall and the amazing grace of God that lifted her up.
Having integrity is an important part of our Christian testimony. Integrity is the foundation upon which a successful life is built. You can have talent, vision, determination, but if you lack integrity you won’t reach your highest potential.
On the highway to success, having strong Christian values are like having guardrails that keep you from veering off the road. God’s Word is our anchor of safety and security as we go through a wild world full of diverse temptations.
As the Israelites journeyed to the promised land, God told them that keeping His Word would make them survive as they passed through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water.’ (Deuteronomy 6:24).
Today, we live in a world where the devil goes about as a roaring lion looking for whom to devour, he has a mission to kill, steal and destroy.
To survive his various traps, lures and trials, we need to make the definite choice to walk in line with God’s Word. Oftentimes, it appears that following the ways of the world is faster and more beneficial. But it is that path that initially seems right, only to end in the ways of death.
The straight and narrow way of God’s Word is the path that leads to life, blessings, progress and peace. Because righteousness exalts a nation, our decision to walk in righteousness will certainly lift us to greater heights and keep us moving from glory to glory.
PRAYER: Lord, please always uphold me by Your Word and grant me the grace to never compromise my faith no matter the trial or temptation. I thank You for enabling me to always bring glory to You in all my dealings in Jesus Name.
