Marissa Henley’s life took an unexpected turn when she was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer. At the time, she was a young mother raising three children, the oldest just six years old. The diagnosis brought overwhelming fear, especially as doctors explained the seriousness of her condition and the uncertainty of survival.
During her treatment at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, she faced moments of deep emotional struggle. Thoughts of leaving her children behind often brought her to tears. Yet in the midst of that storm, she made a deliberate decision to anchor her heart in God’s Word.
She began to hold on to God’s promises, choosing to trust His faithfulness above her fears. By 2011, against medical expectations, her health was fully restored. Her testimony, shared in her book After Cancer, continues to inspire many, showing that God’s faithfulness is not temporary—it endures through every season.
Lamentations 3:21–23 reveals a powerful truth—our hope is sustained when we consciously remember the faithfulness of God. God’s Word is not uncertain or unreliable; it is dependable and consistent across all seasons of life.
There are moments when situations challenge what we believe. Fear, delays, and unexpected trials may attempt to weaken our confidence. But God’s Word remains steady. What He has spoken, He is committed to fulfill.
Faith grows stronger when we deliberately call to mind God’s past faithfulness. Every promise fulfilled, every prayer answered, and every deliverance we have experienced becomes evidence that His Word can be trusted again.
Therefore, when you face uncertainty, return to the Word. Stand on His promises. Remind yourself of His track record. Because God is faithful, and His Word will never fail. As you hold on to that truth, hope will rise, faith will be strengthened, and victory will surely follow.
PRAYER
Lord, I thank You for Your unwavering faithfulness in my life. Help me to continually trust in Your Word, knowing that You will always fulfill every promise You have spoken concerning me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
