Psalm 34:1 -3 ‘I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together’.

During the second world war, a German warship sunk a ship carryng many people including more than 120 American missionaries and their families.
Among them was Mrs. Lillian Danielson and her six little children who were going to meet her missionary husband in Africa. Their ship named the Zamzam had set sail on 20th March 1941. Then after almost a month at sea, just about four days to reaching their destination, Lillian Danielson was divinely prompted to ensure her children all had lifejackets. When she realized that the available lifejackets were in poor condition, she carefully sewed, repaired them to fit her children.
By the next day, on April 17, 1941, at 6 a.m. there was high pitched screams as a German warship shelled their ship mistaking it for an enemy ship.
As their ship began to sink, the captain of the ship radioed for help and a rescue ship came. The passengers had to enter into lifeboats to take them to the rescue ship. Mrs. Lillian Danielson, with her six children, also boarded a lifeboat. But unknown to them the boat had been hit by German shells and as they all got in, the boat simply deflated and sunk under them.
They would all have sunk with the boat, if not for the lifejackets that she had gotten ready the day before! While afloat in the water, Mrs. Lillian Danielson led her children in singing songs of praise and adoration to Christ as they swum towards the rescue ship. On hearing their singing, all the other missionaries in their lifeboats also began singing as they moved toward the rescue ship. At that very time, a brilliant rainbow came up in the sky. This was to them a sign that God was in control and miraculously all the missionaries were rescued and eventually safely arrived at their destination. Their story is captured in the book, ‘Miracle At Sea.’

Storms of life can come suddenly and lightning can often strike out unexpectedly from a darkness that was once a clear blue sky. But there is no reason to fear, when you are a child of God. Understand that God knows the answer to the problem long before the problem arrived. If you are sensitive to the Spirit, He would have guided you and prepared you to weather whatever comes your way.
If we come to places of despair and desperation, where it seems we are about to sink, those are the times to switch to praise. Because we know our God never fails, He is our ever present help in every time of need and will always come through for us.
As a child of the King, victory is already yours. Just stay in praise and keep blessing the Lord at all times.
David said in Psalm 34:1 ‘I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.’
Continuous praise was David’s secret of continual victory. This was what made him as a teenager to kill a giant with a slingshot and a single pebble. Likewise today, as we stay committed to maintaining our joy and blessing the Lord at all times, certainly God will cause every goliath to fall before us and cause every storm to serve His divine purpose in our lives.

PRAYER: Lord, I praise You despite any storms around me because I know You will always come through for me. Please enable me to diligently study Your Word so that I can stay strong in faith and keep giving You all the glory in Jesus Name
