Psalm 34:1 ‘I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.’

Imagine the fear of a little boy being told by doctors that he would never walk again. Imagine the apprehension in his family as there was serious contemplation of amputating his legs, so that he would spend the rest of his life as an amputee.
While that may have inflicted despair on others, it generated inexplicable determination in an eight year boy who refuted the negative medical verdicts, and went forth to become a great Olympian medalist.
This is the story of Glenn Cunningham who is popularly known as the Iron Man of Kansas. He overcame great adversity and all odds, to become one of the greatest middle-distance runners of the 20th century.
When he was eight years old in 1917, Glenn Cunningham saw his world come crashing down as he nearly lost his legs after a fire accident in his hometown of Kansas. He saw his brother die as a result of that incident and when Cunningham was admitted to the hospital, doctors suggested amputation because the burns were severe and spread of infection was feared.
Yet through faith in God, Cunningham got miraculously healed and went on to create several world records in the 1930s. He represented USA at two Olympics and clinched a silver medal at the 1936 edition.
Today, Glenn Cunningham is regarded as one of History’s greatest athletes, whose story is an amazing testament of God’s faithfulness.
It doesn’t matter what life throws at you, what matters most is how you react to it. We can either choose to bounce back up and fight through the pain or we can choose to lie down in defeat and give up because of the pain. The worst failure of life is giving up on your possibilities without a try. Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. If challenges try to push down, get up and keep moving forward.
To succeed in life, you must be resilient.
The dictionary describes resilience as the power or ability to return to the original form, position, etc., after being bent, compressed, or stretched.
Despite the storms, those who trust in God will keep rising better and stronger!
Today, it doesn’t matter what you think you may have lost, when you thank God for what is left, He will surely multiply it beyond your wildest expectation.
A wise man said if you have lost anything God is the reason why you have not lost everything. So let’s thank God for what is available. When you thank God for His finger, He will unveil His arm for you. In everything we are to give thanks. Indeed when we trust God, we will thank Him in every situation because we know that He is certainly working out all things together for our good.
PRAYER: Father please help me to keep moving forward no matter what trials and temptations may come my way. May Your grace always be sufficient for me in Jesus Name.
