Many of us today use digital cameras. They are often part of our smartphones which allow us to capture images and see them immediately on a screen.
Photography hasn’t always been so quick and easy, though. Once upon a time, cameras were quite large and a bit complicated. After taking a picture, you couldn’t see what it looked like until you removed film from the camera and had it developed. Through a process that takes time and care, the pictures would be developed in a darkroom, using the illumination of a special red light. The film would be transferred somehow to the paper and then the paper would be dipped in several different trays holding chemical solutions. As the photos are moved from tray to tray, the image begins to emerge.
But if someone opened the dark room door while, this process is going on, too much light would flood in and mess up every piece of film, and the pictures would be ruined. The darkness of that dark room made the proper development of those pictures possible.
Often times, God allows us to be developed in the ‘dark rooms’ of life. It is in those tough times, those seemingly dark place of challenges, that we are worked on and processed, until the right image of Christ emerges in us
God says in Isaiah 48:10 ‘Behold, I have refined thee, and not as silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction’.
There are times it may seem as if we are in the furnace of affliction but those times could actually be a refining process. At the end of it, we are coming out more colorful, more beautiful and with greater glory.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 says ‘For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.’
Different situations may represent dark rooms for us. Even when the enemy brings challenges to us, God does not waste those trials. What was meant for evil could become a pruning process that prepares us to bear more fruits.
In the darkroom we are being processed to produce the image of Christ. Those are usually the times we pray more, fast more , study the Word and draw closer to God. In the midst of the challenges, a divine purpose is being accomplished in us
We must always remember that as long as we are walking in God’s will, whatever difficulty we may pass through, will only culminate in greater glory for us. We will come out better than we went in
The dark room is not your destiny, it is not where you will end up, it is only a process. Though, you may not see it now, you are becoming better and things are turning around. And when the process is complete, you will be fully developed to reflect the image of Christ and manifest the glory of God to the world.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for granting me the grace to endure the necessary processes that will make me more Christlike. Whatever I pass through, I know I am coming out a better person in Jesus Name. .
