Genesis 8:22

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease”

David Greene, with an estimated net worth of $4.5 billion, is one of the richest Christians in America, however he grew up in poverty in rural Oklahoma, where he was raised by  devoted Christian parents.

His father was a pastor and the message prominently displayed in his childhood home was, “Only one life; it will soon be past.  Only what’s done for Christ will last.”

Though his parents were poor, yet they were givers. Despite their poverty, Green’s parents  stepped out in faith and regularly gave to the church.  Green recalls the memory of one time his parents put their last dime on the collection plate. Today, he attributes his blessing to his parent’s giving.

As David progressed as an adult, his mother would continually ask him, “Dave, what are you doing for the Lord?”  His two brothers followed in the footsteps of their father, becoming pastors, while two of his sisters married pastors and the third became an evangelist. On his own part, David recognized that God purposed him to be a merchant.  He therefore decided to serve God as a businessman.

And from a small art and craft shop that started in his home, his company hobby lobby, has  become a global business chain with 520 superstores grossing  billions of dollars annually. David believes that the success of his business is not his doing, but rather God has blessed him because of his giving to the spread of the Gospel. Though Green keeps the total amount of his giving private, Forbes magazine has estimated his total lifetime giving at above $500million, making him the largest individual financier of evangelical causes in America.

Indeed the tearful seeds that David’s parents sowed has today produced a fearful harvest in the life of their son. And David Greene continues to apply the same secret of seed sowing today, which is reaping for him a bountiful harvest.

Genesis 8:22  says “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease”

It is true, sacrificial giving provides the gateway to financial dominion, however it takes grace to be able to give sacrificially. Concerning the Macedonian Church, in 2 Corinthians 8, the Bible says: “How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;’

So the giving of the Macedonian Church was beyond their power, it was the supernatural grace of God that enabled them to give despite their deep poverty and great trial of affliction. Oftentimes, it seems as if there are so many needs around us that we can’t afford to give sacrificially. But if we continue to observe the clouds we may never sow, and if never sow then we will never reap. Also he that sows sparingly will reap sparingly and he that sows bountifully will reap bountifully.

Since seedtime and harvest is an unbreakable covenant, one way the enemy keeps people in poverty is by stopping them from sowing seeds.

It is God’s will that we prosper and be in health. Therefore anything trying to keep us in poverty is anti-covenant. That is why today we must ask God for the giving grace and at the same time  engage the blood of Jesus, against any force that tries to keep us in poverty.

Financial dominion is our heritage in Christ. And every child of God is a candidate for wealth. By redemption, we have an inheritance of financial fortune in Christ. As 2 Corinthians 8:9 says though Jesus Christ was rich, yet for our sakes he became poor, that we through his poverty might be rich. Therefore by covenant, prosperity is our portion and by the blood of Jesus anything that tries to stop us from accessing our inheritance is destroyed. Today, we receive the supernatural grace to always sow bountifully so as to reap a rich harvest in Jesus Name. .

PRAYER: Lord, I know that it is Your will for me to prosper, I therefore thank You for the supernatural grace to continually  sow seeds that will produce rich harvests in my life in Jesus Name ..
